A pool party? in Maine? in the winter? How odd. Those Kiwi's are just the swingers of the snow belt.
Sugar, maybe they're recruiting people for some mysterious ponzi scheme. Don't give them any money. Or, maybe they've noticed how charming you are and want to be friends with you. Don't scoff..they could have gotten smarter after all these years.
Where has Painty been?
I have old lady feet and hands. They are really ugly. When did this happen? They are absolutely wrinkley.
But you guys sure explained a lot. I'm glad that the dragons, thong photos and hurtful people are NOT HERE ANY MORE!
Not only am I back from Florida, I'm back from the depression I brought back with me. Whew.
Am reading FOUR SEASONS... about three sisters who survive the death of the fourth. As an only child, I'm never sure how I feel about having missed out on extended family. I could vividly imagine sisters leaving with "their butts on fire" as Kiwi so aptly described the post Mikado crowd.
It's been 38 years since HS prom. Jeez.
DS got second tattoo... but maybe I told you all. "Veritas" which I think is kinda cool. Still doesn't have a clue about post-graduation self-support.
I can lose weight AND maintain a sense of humor AND allow children to take care of themselves. I can. I can. I can. AIAIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
KIWONKERS!!! that is so wonderful about DD!!!! so exciting---there is nothing i like better than watching the girls perform----we can be stage mothers together!!Right now,dd17 is practicing for "the music man"----and dd19 is in a play that is a musical at university--both to be performed late march, early april!!!!!!_------oh and to furthur shock you------ THE DRESS IS 460 CANADIAN }{THE LATE THREE HUNDRED'S AMERICAN}---HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!----I think i paid sixty bucks for my wedding dress at Fat Dalmy's.alsooooooooooo----------kiwonkers--------before i read your post last night,i had just played My Immortal about ten times on the stereo, singing it as loudly as i could!!!!!---I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR DD SING IT----DO YOU HAVE AN AUDIO TAPE OF IT???I HOPE YOU ARE TAPING THESE THINGS---- i have a tape of dd singing Superman by five for fighting----i am now in love with their song "one hundred years" and am TRYing to play it on the piano-----anywaayyyyyyyyyyyy ds and dh have gone skating,so i had better get something done in my nice QUIET house!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxoxoxo see ya tanks
Excellent about your girls, isn't it the most fun to watch them?
I don't have any audio tape of DD, I've been videotaping all of her stuff. She is going to be recording some of her songs though. She got recording software for the computer for her birthday.
Gotta run -- party in 2 hours. I'm trying to print up some banners, which of course DD immediately vetoed, so I had to start over. So I added the happy birthday to "DD" and "DD's friend" and she informed me it was also for "X" and "Y". Oy. this kid drives me crazy sometimes. So I wrote "Happy Birthday! to you and you and you and you."
actually i DID find a prom dress at frenchy's and one of dd's friends is MORE than happy to wear it------------------have you ever heard the word "spoiled"??????it is the main characteristic of most children in this neck of the woods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was DS12's b-day today. We had fun...all we did was sit at B-ball games all day, but it was nice. Can you believe my baby is 12??????? Remember Satanella???? He was so little then. Now he could take Satanella with his hands tied behind his back.
My visions of motherhood are not ALL rosy tonight..DD is mad at me because I refuse to take her out first thing tomorrow morning to buy a new shirt before play practice. Here is her problem...she only has black sweatpants and she has nothing to go with them. NOW, what on earth DOESN'T go with black sweat pants???? AND I would add that to call these microfiber darlings sweatpants is a HUGE injustice..since they cost the GNP of a small country. Bagzie, you know what I mean with the girls and clothes thing. This girl is horrified at the prospect of wearing a shirt twice. Can you imagine that some mother allowed her to get this spoiled???? I blame myself.
Kiwi, though I'm miffed now, I LOVE to hear DD sing. It is so much fun. You're a computer whiz.....why can't you put the video online???? It will give you a project for the week.
I know what you mean about half sibs and step sibs and all the complications thereof. They are such unsatisfying relationships. Of course, I don't like my brothers much better.
Painty, I don't think it ever crossed my mind that my parents would support me after college. This is a fault of our generation. Everyone I know who has kids of that age has the problem you have....namely, these kids like us too much. Maybe you should be more judgmental and harsh. Then he will want to avoid you.
Peaches, don't the people at the backpack store know what kind of backpack to get??? Also, don't they sell these things at Walmart???
Did you hear about Cowpernia's torrid affair with the younger man who works at WinnDixie??? I understand he's the butcher's assistant and that she is ditching it all and moving to an island with him. Her DS is, naturally, puzzled...but he'll get the house so he's ok with it. Don't tell her I talked behind her back.
Maybe that way I won't have to eat to feel better. I can just take charge! Seize the day! Carpe diem and all that. or Carpe carpum (Seize the carp!).. When my DD was in expensive pants demanded by peers mode (The brand of the day was Cavaricci way back then, I think)... I gave her what even she thought was a lot of money per month and then she was on her own for clothes. She quickly discovered a) money doesn't go very far if you spend it all on one thing and b) her father was a sucker for a story about clothes and how stingy Mom was. Smooth operator.
I ate well today and exercised twice.
Unfortunately one day doesn't seem like much of a dent.
Sleep well, all.
The neighbours were darling. Well, maybe not darling, but nice enough anyway and they know the latest gossip. That's important for survival here. She made pizza and we had ice cream for dessert and he blabbed the whole time. Dh noticed right away that their tv is bigger than our tv. Oh oh. You know what that means. We asked them about the party the night before and they said "Party? What party?" Must have been someone else. I'm sure I'll be slopping something onto their plates some time soon. Woke up with a mother of a headache. Feels like this
