Well I got too comfortable last night and entered la la land. I must have really been beat. Woke up this morning to a cool 65 degrees. Here it comes! This weekend my chores will include getting all the jackets/shirts/etc out of storage and getting them cleaned up and ready to wear.
Renee.....a hummer huh??? LOL. I hope my son doesnt come around and ask for that! Everytime there is a car commercial, he wants it! His Dad and I have tried to explain, that his first car will most likely be a "used" car lol. Then once he turns 16 and becomes "employed" we will look for a nice affordable new car for him. He seems to understand for the most part (yea right) but still has to ask every now and then lol. Im glad your weather is doing so well Renee. Ours this week looks nice as well. Gonna be partly cloudy alot, but the temps during the day are in the low 80's and NO RAIN! The nights are in the 60's, NO A/C! lol.
Sharla, how did the babysitting go? I love babysitting. I miss the sweet smell of babies. Then of course, I wake up and look at mine and see how nicely they dress themselves, fix their own cereal in the mornings, and can potty all by themselves LOL. Its better to just babysit and send them home later hehe. My brother has a 2 year old and a 1 year old. Ill help raise them, all from the comforts of HIS house
Oh, Renee, I read in your journal about your feelings on your new job. Sorry your employer/friend is asking more from you than what was agreed. I think signing an agreement for the 10 weeks would be smart. That way she really is aware that you only "committed" yourself to that time frame, and if you decide you want to work longer, its your decision. I know it has to be hard, you were excited about volunteering, and then when something like this occurs, it takes all the excitement out and makes you question it.
Sandy??? How are you doing? How is Corey? Hope youre doing well and write soon!
Time for work. Ill talk to you wonderful ladies tonight. Take care and have a wonderful day!
Sandy, you were posting as I was! Good Luck on the test today with Corey! I know the results will be fine. And let that little fellow have all the chicken nuggets his little body can store lol. He will definately deserve them! He must be a real trooper! Take care today and let us know how things went as soon as you can! Lots of hugs to you and Corey.
Good morning ladies!! I'm down another pound!!!!!! I'll take it!
Kevin, the babysitting was great! She was here just about long enough that I was ready for her to let mommy take care of her! I love her to death but I had forgotten how hard it is with a baby. I did learn I can still work fast while they are napping and do most tasks 1 handed!! I love the fact that Jordan can take care of himself now, miss my baby but am glad he's growing into a fine young man.
I can't imagine not liking sweets but I have learned to do without. Only sugar free for me! I have found that I can have a piece of fruit and some kind of grain each day and still lose. I may drop one of those and see if I can lose 2 pounds a week instead of 1 but I feel like I can accomplish that goal if I exercise. SOOOO, starting today I will walk everyday. No whining and complaining, I'm just going to do it. I want to lose 30 to 40 pounds before Christmas so I must work hard. All I want for Christmas is to open a package with a smaller pair of pants in it!!!
My energy is way up there so I'm off to do something with it!! Have a great day!
I too wish you and Corey luck at the Doctors office today, Sandy. hopefully it will be an easy fix and then the poor kid can eat chicken nuggets and fries till the cows come home (or chickens, as the case may be!)
Kevin, once again, thanks for the support. Yes, this job thing has been giving me an ulcer! yesterday she called and was upset because they couldn't fit her into the surgery schedule on the week she had intended (spet. 17th)--so she had to settle on the 30th, and so she called to see if I would be able to work for her until she recovered. It was the perfect opportunity for me to speak my intentions--so i told her that I would only do this until Dec. 6th. I feel so much better now. Atleast I know there will be an end if it doesn't work out. Like I said, she is not a bad person or anything--just a little greedy if you ask me. Anyway, that gives me a few more weeks until i have to start on a regular basis.
Today, I start my volunteering for school. Proficiency workshop with the 4th graders. I am hoping it will be fun. From 11am till 11:45--so the time commitment isn't bad at all. I can still do lunch with my mom! LOL!
I hope we all do not have a bad winter this year! It is nice to have those cool, crisp nights though. Good for sleeping!
I keep trying to get back on the wagon and follow phase one again for awhile--but i keep doing not so good. Dinner was awful last night--I made the ginger grilled chicken from the book--Sharla--don't make it--BAD! So I only had one bite. Had some couscous that was not good either(lemon and spinach flavor). So I only had sugar snap peas (which I am not sure is even legal). Needless to say--I was famished by 8pm and what did I have?? Toasted italian bread with peanut butter and sprinkled with choclate chips. Very yummy. Inspired by Emeril's chocolate chip bread with peanut butter and banana I was watching him make. I HAVE stop watching the food network! I will actually be glad when all the new network shows start for the season so I can stop watching about food at night!! Well, I started the day with eggs--so I am doing ok today--so far...
Soccer practice is on the agenda tonight, as well as Market day pick up. It promises to be a be a busy day! Everybody take care and be good to yourselves!
Renee
Ok--sharla--we were posting at the same time! Just wanted to say on the pound and I sure do admire your strong determination! Seems I have lost mine along the way...are you willing to share?? Anyway..WTG! I am sure new pants are in your future!!
Renee....here's a big hand full of determination! I don't eat any of those recipes from the book. There's alot of stuff in there that I don't even know what it is!!! Laughing Cow Cheese??????? I have no clue! Most of that stuff just sounds nasty!! I rely on salads, chicken, pork chops and so on. I'm not a big veggie eater but am learning to eat some that I never would before. Anyway....much luck on useing the determination I sent your way! YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Renee.......one little thing.........YUCK! Italian bread, peanut butter and chocolate chips?? OH MY! Italian bread, yes, by itself. Peanut butter, NO WAY, I despise peanut butter. Chocolate chips, yes, only in a cookie! I must lead a very boring and dreary life . I need to spice it up!
GO RENEE! YOU SHALL SUCCEED! You can do it Renee. Youre so busy right now, youre not giving yourself enough credit for the wonderful lifestyle changes you have managed in the past few months. Youve got plenty of determination, thats what has gotten you this far. Dont forget that!
Whoooohooooo Congrats on the 1lb loss Sharla! Im sure you'll definately find that smaller pair of pants under the tree from Santa this year! Laughing cow cheese??? What is that? Is it a brand name of cheese? Or a recipe? Yes, Renee, I LIKE cheese lol.
Sandy, how did the tests go?? Let us know soon.
Well, supper time. Ill check back in later. Everyone take care and talk to you in a bit.
I have no idea what Laughing Cow Cheese is! I was hopeing someone here knew! It's listed in the SBD book along with a bunch of other stuff that I have never heard of. Anyway, it just sounds bad so I'm not looking for any to eat!!
I went yesterday to buy the WOTP dvd but they only had the advanced version. I will have to look elsewhere. I know there is no way that I would do the advanced version. I'm so out of shape it isn't funny. I prefer to walk outdoors if the weather lets me but I thought the dvd would be good to have for rainy, snowy, high humidity days.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! for all your wonderful support! Sharla, I am taking that handful of determination and putting it in a safe place--and Kevin, as usual, you are right!! Seems like I have just got caught up in life and kept seeming to slip up. It does seem like things are getting more organized around here--so that is definately helping.
OK Ladies--laughing cow cheese...I had a good little chuckle! Found in the dairy section and comes in little wedges. Has the consistency of cream cheese and I really think low fat or nonfat cream cheese would do the same thing. It has some flavoring--like french onion. Which is pretty good. But I think I think I prefer cream cheese (and it's cheaper!) So Kevin...does this mean you like cheesecake??
I need to get to the grocery store today. I am just about out of everything. Yesterday's eating was good for the most part. I made a really good grilled salmon for dinner. Took zucchini and yellow squash and sliced it thin long ways--marinated in italian dressing, then grilled it up. Put it on the bottom of a glass pie dish, then grilled up the salmon. Put that on top. Chopped up some home-grown tomatoes and seasoned them with salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar, a little extra virgin olive oil, and basil. Poured that on top of the salmon. Yummy. Kind of like a dish you can get at a restaurant around here. Had green beans on the side.
My voluteering went great! I was even able to stop in at lunch to see my little guy. He was so happy to see me. If parents only knew what a difference it makes to their kids to just stop in at school now and then and step into these kids lives!! DS's teacher asked me to be the "book mom" since his 3rd grade teacher spoke so highly of me. I was truely flattered. I think the world of her and think that she is by far, the best teacher in that school. So, I will be doing that. It is a nice way to help out. I get the teacher's library card, which allows you to check out books for an entire month. She gives me a list, and I just research on the card catalog on the internet from home at my leisure. Then I just go and get the books. its actually kind of fun. And I really know the public library well now!!
Well, off to shower and then to the store and the bank--and then laundry. Tomorrow I am going to help with the day care. So, have a great day girls and think thin!!
Renee
Renee, I know you will put that determination to good use! Thigs being hectic and unorganized drives me crazy! Jordan is 12, plays basketball, is on the academic team and goes to a class every 2 weeks for gifted and talented children. I'm very proud of him but when ball season is in there are so many practices and a game every saturday, sometimes 2, along with academic practice and the meets start as soon as basketball is over. That's not to count the school dances and homework and just wanting to have some time with him. Family time is wonderful I believe and he is getting older so I cherish every minute I have with him as my little boy! Thanks for filling me in on the cheese! I was totally clueless! Cream cheese I like and I love cheaper!!
Yes, I CANNOT stand when things are disorganized and hectic either--speaking of which, I went to the day care today for 4 hours and it is just crazy over there. I know I would do things different (be more rigid with schedules and things) just to keep things more organized. Lots of charts too--so I know and the kids know just exactly what they are supposed to be doing and when. But she has a ton of little kids (3 and under)! She wants us to play games and stuff with the kids, but there are just too many of various ages to do anything with! And the babies do take up so much time that the toddlers can only steal a minute or two with you. Maybe if routines could be established, in time, they will be better at listening to stories and such. I would much rather read or play educational game stuff than the large motor games like london bridge. Oh well, she goes in for her surgery at the end of the month.
My daughter, Nicole is 11. She too takes gifted classes. I have been fortunate to have three very intelligent kids that love school. But all the homework and extra cirricular activities can sure take their toll on family time. And you are so right Sharla, about them being small for such a short time. I savor every kiss and hug my 6 year old is willing to dish out because it will not be long that he won't be willing to do that.
Well, I am trying to be good with eating--but this daycare thing got the best of me. I didn't get any lunch. So when I left at 3pm--I was starving. I had oatmeal and skim for bfast. And then planned on mini california rolls (not SBD approved because of the sticky rice)--but overall low in cals and fats. Well, I had the california rolls and then some cukes and then a small piece of pizza. Now I am sitting here wishing I had not done that. C'est la vie! Dinner will be grilled marinated sirloin with some sort of veggies and potaotes o'brien for dh and the kids.
Take some time to hug the ones you love today, for if this day in history has taught us anything--it is that life is short and you should savor every moment.

Evening, sorry that I haven't posted til tonight. Been busy here! Corey's test went alright, there was an equipment failure and the test went 30mins longer. I will get the offical results on Tues. The doctor that ran the test told me that his colon was up too high, whatever that may mean. There was one section that was white that should have been black. Not for sure what that is but I will find out though. Could go on but I am exhausted and need some rest I hope to catch up soon.
Renee, I use to work in a daycare. Doesn't she put the kids into age groups? It's almost impossible to do things with the kids if they are all together...just my opinion!
Children are wonderful! Mine is growing into such a young man that I can't hardly stand it! My hubby says when he's grown that I will suffer from empty nest syndrome for the rest of my life!!
Sandy, glad to hear the test is finally over. I am hoping you find out what you need to. Please keep us informed of the results you get on Tuesday.
Sharla, no--she doesn't group them. She should. She really needs to if she is going to get any real kind of order there. She should also divide up the kids so each adult knows exactly who they are in charge of, in my opinion. Like I said, I would do things different. Lunch time there is crazy. They all have lunch boxes and their mom's pack them lunch--but half the stuff isn't marked with names or anything. I would make them all put a sticker with the name on it on the same place on the lunch box. Also, I would install cubbies with each childs name on it for all the other stuff they have, or any correspondence with the parents that needs to be done. But again, it is not for me to say...I am just filling in for a while for now.
Kevin, hoping things are going well for you.
Well, I will try to get a nice walk in today and eat right and drink water (well, decaf iced tea--plain) Have a great day and weekend (if I don't get a chance to get back on before Monday)! Renee
I did it! I got passed that pesky 179 and Im at 178! Good golly I havent been this weight since high school! Thats aweful
That was 17 years ago. I tried on a pair of 16's I had stashed in the closet (clothes bought by family members thru the years who THOUGHT they knew what size I wore!) and they FIT! Little snug on the rear, but they FIT! Ohhhhh please let it keep getting better and better!
Had friends call yesterday and ask Hubby if we would like to get together and grill out last night. Of course he said yes before he asked me. Well, I was under the impression, since they were inviting, we were going to THIER house. HA! They showed up at MY house around 5:15 pm and brought all their food for ME to cook. I gave hubby the good ole evil eye. They sat and watched ME prepare everything. And Hubby grilled. Then we ate and they LEFT! No can I help with dishes, no let me help you pick up, NOTHING. Just drove off and said, thanks and keep the gallon of ice cream for the boys. LMAO! Never never again!
I guess hubby is going to take me shopping today for some plant bedding and some more flowers. He built me a box about 2 weeks ago and we are going to plant inside it out front. I so love to work in the garden now. Im glad his mom got me started!
I know this is short and rambling. Ill check in more later. Hubby has comandeered the computer every night this week almost and refuses to give it up. Stingy. Last night he played games on the puter AND watched baseball. So I went to bed. Oh well, cant win em all, lol. Everyone take care and have a great weekend. Ill be back later
