good Monday Morning!

Kevin, I am glad to hear the open house went well--and how great to get a compliment. I think you need to ask Santa for a microwave AND a gift certificate to get some new clothes! You have lost so much weight, honey, you deserve some new duds! I think it is just incredible what you have lost!! That is terrible not having any screens--especially when the temperature is low enough at night to enjoy the cool air and great for sleeping with the windows wide open! Maybe you can check around and see if another home depot or home improvement store carries the screens for the brand window you bought. I am also glad to hear that someone has had success (you and Sandy) with not journaling the food intake. Makes me think maybe it can be done without it.

Sandy, I am sure all that physical work at Keebler will add up! I too, hope you get something permanent there--since you enjoy it.

Sharla, hope all is well with you!

I was bad this weekend, but today is the start of a new week. We took the kids to see "Second Hand Lions" yesterday. Really good. I bought myself a chocolate bar (Lindt Dark Truffle)--ate the whole thing. Yum. I just love that chocolate. Didn't have any popcorn though. So maybe it was a trade off. Today is a dreary and cool day ( in the 40's right now) probably only make it up to the 50's later. My neighbor has been ill--so I promised her dinner tomorrow. I am going to make homemade chicken noodle soup and some homemade bread. I make the bread in my cuisinart--which I have found makes awesome bread with little effort. White--so i won't keep any around here. And I think I will make banana pudding for dessert. Plus, Monday is my cleaning day and kids laundry day. So I will be busy. Take care everyone! Talk to you real soon!

Evening ladies.

Kevin, I agree with Renee, a microwave and a gift cert. for some new clothing.

Renee, homemade chicken noodle and bread sounds like a winner to me.

Was really busy this weekend. Had it off so I spend most of my time with Corey and Richard(he came up for 3 days). Ball games, festivals, and a good hike on Sunday. Where did the time go? I could ramble on but there are some things that need to get done around here. Catch everyone later

Good Morning Everyone!

Yes, that would be nice, but Ill have to wait and see. Last couple years, Santa has been kinda slim on my side lol. Hubby has a prob with the word "saving". And usually is broke at Christmas when its time to go and look for mine. Then tells me he will get me something when he gets his next check, which usually means, sometime next year LOL. It doesnt bother me, there isnt much I want or need. I get enjoyment from seeing his and the boys faces when they open all theirs.

How was everyone's weekend? Mine was fine. Work yesterday though, was another thing. I got sick. I do not think Ive been eating like I should. No, I dont "think", I KNOW, I havent. I was sitting there talking to my co workers and I started feeling like I was underwater and then they sounded like they were fading out on me. My blood sugar must have bottomed out. I was headed out of the chair when my co worker noticed and grabbed me (yes Ms Thang), she went and got me a cold rag to wipe my face and something to drink. She does have a soft side I found out lol. Anyway, I went and got something to eat and felt 100 % better! My boss stated if it happened again, then he would officially TOTE me out of the office and take me to the doctor. And that for me not to let my dieting interfere with my health. I got a 1 hour lecture from then on. I just havent been hungry. I guess with everything going on, I have kinda forgot or just ignored it. I cant do that I see. Not again.

Well, I hope everyone has a great day. Take care and Ill check in after work. Have a great one!!!!

Good morning girls!

Well...........I'm bent over holding my ankles waiting for everyone to kick me square in my butt. We went to Holiday World Sunday and I out flat blew it. I had a sausage biscuit for breakfast, loaded nachos for lunch, a slice of pizza and french fries for dinner, was that enough???? NNNOOOOOOOOOOOO, I also had a chocolate dipped waffle cone filled with rocky road ice cream and a huge piece of fudge. I am so mad at myself. Oh! let's not forget the hot chocolate. It rained on us 3 times, hailed on us once, it was windy and cold. The rain and hail would come and go but everytime I would get wet and cold I would want something warm. Anyway, I have controlled my eating for so long that I can't believe that I screwed up that bad. I haven't got back into eating right. I do okay during the day but now I'm eating at night. I'm going to work on a solution for that today and by tomorrow I will be back on track. I'm ashamed to tell you all what a pig I was but I really need some encouragement to get backon track! Thanks for listening!

Good Morning ladies!

Looks like everyone has been busy. I find fall is like that--getting ready for the big chill of winter and so much to do--including play--before the snow and cold arrive. They are forcasting light snow tonight in some of the higher elevations around here--can you believe it? We all refer to snow as a "four letter word" Every year, I am getting closer to thinking a warm climate would be a great place to retire someday...oh well...a girl can dream.

Kevin, that low blood sugar episode must have been very scary for you. Yes, you must make sure to take care of yourself. I am glad to see Ms. Thang was able to put her mean self aside and come to your aid. Maybe you could keep a little something at your desk, just in case. Try to eat more high protein things. They keep your bloodsugar more level--because they are not so easily digested as sugary or white floury things. Hope things are looking better for you!

Chicken soup came out really good. Took my mom's advice and bought an extra package of backs. My bread came out a little heavy though. I think the yeast was getting old--or maybe I should've used more. Anyway--it tasted ok. ( I did have a little out of the test loaf) Also made banana pudding. It was ok. Don't think I will make it again though. Way too sweet. And I like sweet stuff too. My neighbor heard good news from her second opinion doctor--so for now, she will not need any abdominal surgery. so that is good.

Well, I better get going. I am picking Nicole up from school later and she is getting her braces off. She is excited. Then I need to get her back to school because today is the student council elections--and she is running for class president. So it will be a busy one! Take care and talk to you all later! Renee

Just read your post Sharla. Don't fret over one bad day. It is now gone and you can get right back on track. Someone wise once told me that it seems as though when you finally get the program all downloaded(diet plan), you are ready to move on to something else. Maybe change things up a bit. Try some new recipes. Everyone has had days like yours--their is nothing to be ashamed of.

The only failure is quitting. Maybe find something else to do in the evening when those cravings are the worst. Walk or do something that is not compitable with eating. Anyway, hang in there! And forgive yourself. We are all only human.

I have faith in your success!

It's cold here this morning, 34 degrees!

Hope everyone is doing well

Good Morning!

Checking in...well..it's awful cold here today too--it actually snowed! Awoke to a dusting on the rooftops and in the flower beds! Had to send the kids to school with winter coats. Oh my...I am hoping this is not a taste of things to come. Kevin--enjoy that nice southern climate!

Sharla--I am glad to see you are feeling better and back on track. Please know you are certainly not alone in falling off that train. I get so much strength from just knowing I am not alone in my faults and feelings--I hope this also empowers you!

Yes, Sandy--she is so glad to have her braces off! Especially because after taking her back to school yesterday--I got a call that she was ill. I went to pick her up, and it seems that she got the bad stomach bug that is going around. She was so glad that her braces were off whe she threw-up! Can you imagine all that gunk getting stuck in your braces! Yuck! anyway--probably too much information! Sorry to here that Corey's allergies are getting to him. It is so hard to enjoy life when you just are miserable and can't breathe! Do meds help?

Today is my mom's bday--and I promised to make her a carrot cake to celebrate. I have a real yummy recipe. I am planning on sending the leftovers home with her! Ha! ha! And yes, the smell of homemade bread--yummy--the smell of yeast--all warm from the oven and smothered in real butter. Heaven!

Well, off to bake a cake! have a good one girls! Renee

Good Morning!

Renee, Happy Belated Birthday wishes for your Mom! I know you and her had a wonderful time. Um, plain chocolate or white cake for me please, lol. Oh I just cringe at the idea of anything with carrots or pumpkin cooked in it. I love carrots, RAW or cooked in soups. NO cake lol. Or that creepy looking carrot and raisin salad stuff, . WOW, I cannot believe you have already gotten snow! Gee. It was in the low 40's here, but this morning it is around 60. Sure.... it would do that after we ordered 100 gallons of propane yesterday. Now it warms back up! Wooohooo for Nicole! I know she was very excited to get those braces off. Im sure she went to school with the biggest smile the next day. Had to show of those beautiful pearly whites!

Sharla, like Renee said, dont fret the one bad day. We all have them and then we bounce right back! Ive had my share, and you hop right back on track. You need some time off sometimes. Always remember how far youve come, all the changes youve made, and thats your accomplishments. This little bad day, is nothing compared to the HUGE life changes youve made and been living!

Sandy, it may not be as cold here as it is there lol, its still COLD though lol. Everyone has been saying how bad the winter is going to be this year. I love the HOT weather. I cannot function in the cold. We may not have snow, but it still gets very burry here! I couldnt survive up North with yall. Id never leave my house. When my brother lived in Kansas, his wife would laugh. She said he basically hybernated during the winter there. His body was used to the South as well, and he litterally froze there lol. Lived there 3 years and never got used to it!

Hope everyone has an awesome day. Im gonna try. Dont know what the plans are for today. I really really very badly need to go see "Santa" . I wait til the last minute every year. This year, Im gonna do it sooner! Everyone take care, have a great day, Ill check in again later.

Hi girls!

Hope you all had a great weekend. Santa? did someone say Santa? Curse! Is it getting to be that time of year already? Well, you both are way ahead of me in that department! I usually wait until after Thanksgiving to start myself! I know, procrastination...but I just can't get into the spirit until after Thanksgiving! So good for you both for thinking about it and starting it!

Yes, snow sucks! I think I could take the cold as long as I don't have to shovel nor drive thru the white stuff. I agree about it going to be a bad winter...brrr! I will take the winters we had about 5 years ago. 60 degree days in January. I think even most of us Northerners can't take winter!

Went on a field trip with my youngest today. An apple orchard. The weather was nice and we got apples (we picked them) and pumpkins and drank cider with donuts. It was fun! I am afraid to report that the scale has gone up this week. Too many sweets--I know that is the problem! The carrot cake was good--but the leftovers went down the disposal today. I am planning my fresh apple for snack later. (that is if I can just avoid those crispy cremes sitting on the counter!) Must have will power! Must resist!

Thanks all for the bday wishes for mom! I think she had a nice one. Well...kids should be coming through the door any minute! Talk with you all later!

Hi all!

Renee, sounds as if you all had a great time this weekend! Wish I could have gotten to do something fun like that but all I got to do was work. Ah I guess that someone has to do it.

Eating has went so well that is until today. For some reason I had to have that frozen hot chocolate. But hey I deserve it and I know not to deprive myself. A treat every now and again is good for us. I have to take Corey to 2 doctor apts tomorrow. A day off and I get to set in doctors offices. Ah the fun things in life. I have set a mini goal for myself. I have got 2 pairs of levi strass that are size 14 and they fit tight but they go on.(they are sized so much smaller than some of the other 14s I have but oh well). I have to go to Louisville on the 5th of Nov and they are goin to fit so much better. That is my plan and I am sticking to it. Wish me luck.

Gotta go the dryer kicked off so here I come cloths hide real quick. Catch everyone later

Good am!

Sandy, that sounds like a good plan! I have 2 pairs of size 16 Levi's I can get into--tightly--and you are right about them fitting smaller than other brands. You are right about the deprivation thing...if you have been good, a treat now and then is perfectly fine. My problem is, I haven't figured out that now and then isn't everyday! ah well...sometimes I get it.

I have to tell you all...those fresh picked apples from the orchard were out of this world! I have never tasted apples so good. I am not even really an apple fan--but these were great! If you ever have the chance to pick or eat fresh picked apples--don't pass it by! Now I am thinking about making apples pies--which I know will make dh very happy--but I think I will wait awhile. Maybe use splenda to cut down on the sugar. Now if I could just figure out how to cut the fat and still get a good crust!

Well, Tuesday is my school volunteeer day--and now I am going from 10 am till 12pm--and covering two classes in that time period--so I best get going!

Kevin and Sharla--hope all is good.

have a great day! Renee

I love apples. I think that my favorite is pink lady. The only thing is that they are hard to find right now. There is one called pink citrus but it isn't nearly as good! As for the crust I have no idea on how to cut the fat down. Wish that I did have some ideas but I don't. Guess I better run for now I am at the library and have to get a move on while Corey is checking out some books.

Catch everyone later
