Yaaaayy Terry is back :dancer: :cb: Boy, have we missed you too..i'm on :cloud9: now :) Nearly everyone is AWOL Terry :( not heard from Pam either for a while :( maybe she is making the most of her time off :D i tried to email you too Terry..to see how you were doing and if i remember correctly the mail was returned because your mailbox was full! Yeh, i did have a birthday..last friday..and i received a birthday card from my MIL yesterday  oh well a bit better than receiving it in June with my hubby's BD card LOL..we went out for lunch but that was it..i could'nt even entice hubby to take me to the rodeo which was on all weekend so i have officially renamed him "OLD MISERY". I can't believe the weather this morning..i'm socked in with FOG..can't see the woods for the trees LOL...what on earth happened to your computer and why did it take them so long to sort it out? i could have popped around and done it for you if i'd known LOL...i'm not making much progress on the 'diet' front but i've started exercising so i'm hoping that better eating habits will follow. Glad to have you back!!!
Hi Carol..hope you have a lovely weekend away..you can always worry about the few extra pounds when you get back. |
Hey girls,
How are you all doing? Hope all is well and you are OP and feeling great. I've not had a chance to read and catch up but I will. Life/work have been hectic but so far so good coping wise. Just tired but what else is new  Here's the brief rundown on life these days, Finished school and got an 80 for the class so I'm happy with that result. They have transferred my FIL to a long term care facility called St. Joseph's so he's settled. Not happy that Erwin's Mom isn't going to live with him there but he's there now. Hopefully he'll get used to the idea that Mom can only visit and not stay there. Brought a tear to my eye when he said "how can they just rip people apart like that!" Whew, just get misty thinking of how upset he was. Say a prayer for him won't you? His Mom is oblivious to most of it which is probably a blessing in disguise. Work is crazy with a new computer system for the Pump division but that's okay. Still helping out my best friend with her marital crises right now. Sadly she's talking to a lawyer on Friday to pursue filing for a divorce. I feel so bad for her and Makenzie but I know it's the best decision for them both. How do you save a marriage when only one is committed to trying? Weight wise I'm holding my own and staying right at 150. Yay! Sorry for the novel of epic porportions. Hopefully I'll be able to pop in more often and keep up with you all. Take care and hugs to you all, Pam |
I like novels!!
Howdy Doody Ladies! :)
Pam, so much sadness all around you these days, but hang in there as the days will get better once everyone adjusts more, and they will. As you said, it is a blessing that your MIL doesn't comprehend the whole situation, and both are safer where they are. I know. it's easy to rationalize, but accepting is a whole other matter. And, as far as your friend, no divorce is ever easy and there really isn't a good time, but at least the baby is too young to really understand the full scope of it all. Just remember that you can't change things you have no control over. But Zanax helps! Hugs, lady. Whoa, smartie pants, great grade on your course!!! :bravo: Hey, Carol, long time no "see!" Enjoy your weekend -- try to get in a lot of walking to compensate for the extra goodies we all indulge in when we are on holiday. Tomorrow's always another day .... :) my favorite motto lately! Yo, Cat! :high: Happy belated birthday -- "Old Misery" sounds like one of the rodeo horses. What a wife! The weather here has been rainy, rainy, rainy and the forecast calls for more rain thru Monday. So much for Memorial Day Weekend -- not that we ever do much anyway! And, it's cold and dreary to boot -- April weather. We seem to be one month behind here in New England. I had a virus (thanks to Chris!) that came in thru Kaza, which is what he downloads his music files (as in 1600 songs) and TV Shows with (all the episodes of Seinfeld). Blew out my Norton Antivirus and then my internet died, along with the printer, etc. I was planning to have Staples do the upgrade (reformat the old hard drive, put in a second one, add more memory, check it all out) but held off one week because all the hardware I needed was going on sale (as in big discounts!). Plus, we get money back for every purchase we make (with their 'Dividend Card' program. It's sizeable because Russ does a lot of shipping thru there too -- got a free scanner, a big computer chair, a new monitor. It was worth the wait. So now I am installing all the software. Can't get the soundcard to work nor my Palm to do a full hotsync, but that's tomorrow's problem. I am just so happy to be back on the boards!!! OK, time to get some supper going and then watch CSI tonight -- two shows. Love CSI and Law and Order if I do say so myself. Add me in to the novel writers here -- I need to make up for lost time :smug: . Have a great evening and see you in the AM. Always, Terry |
Hey there ladies-
Glad to see Terry back and posts from Carol and Pam :) (and always Cat, of course!) The days just seem to pass...Ian is a month old today, can you believe it?! I can't, it's just crazy how fast time goes (esp. *post* pregnancy- figures, eh??) I've been addicted to puffed wheat treats the past couple weeks- that and diet coke have been a staple. I need to get a different mindset going. It's hard when I'm sleep- deprived and you just kind of do what feels good, you know? I know I would feel better with more water (have made tiny babysteps there) and real food. I just got a baby bjorn (front baby carrier) so would like to get out for walks with the kids and use that- too tired to get up before the kids are awake to exercise, sleep is too precious right now. Went to Red Deer to see Jim's parents last weekend and I am off again in the morning to Montana to see mine (just me and the boys this time) I might be crazy, but I think this will be the easiest time to do it- Ian *should* sleep all the way (if not most) I'll try to check in down there. Have a great weekend :) Emily |
Hi Ladies..glad to hear from you all again now i don't need to talk to the walls anymore :dizzy:
Hope you have a relaxing time in Montana Em :) you're right the time is going by fast. Pam..great job with the results :cp: we knew you would do it! Oh Dear :( poor FIL...and poor Makenzie and her Mom :crossed: hope things get better for all of them. I tried the Pilates 20 minute tape again this afternoon and i did much better this time..i was able to do everything and keep up apart from the last exercise...you have to sit on the floor with your knees bent and close to your chest then let your knees fall apart..put your hands between your legs and grab the outside of your right ankle with your right hand and your left ankle with your left hand..have you done that? now lift your feet off the floor and tap your feet together 3 times (i felt like wishing i was home too  ) then roll back and tap your feet together again before you roll forward and repeat 6 times  i think i did it twice before i rolled over sideways  felt like an egg!! but practice makes perfect and i'll master it. |
Morning!
Spitting nickels because the disc I saved all my email addresses on won't work! Can you guys email me your addresses ([email protected]) so I can slowly restore all the info? Thank you kindly. Thank God the disc with all the pictures is fine. I can always recreate data, but not my photos. Emily, I hope you and your crew have a wonderful time in Montana and drive safely. I hate holiday traffic. Cathy, I must say, that was quite the visual! But good for you for attempting it all again -- practice WILL make perfect. Another rainy day (so what else is new??!!) -- it was so chilly last night we even put the heat on. Oh well, summer will come one of these days. Positive attitudes are suppossed to work wonders. I need to get back on the stick with exercise and food -- not doing it consistantly isn't going to get me anywhere. Lately I have been nibbling on cookies and stuff at night and I usually don't do that. I need a stern self talk one of these days. OK, time to check into WW and journal my coffee -- a step in the right direction. Have a great Friday and see you all later! Always, Terry |
It's another grey day here too Terry :( but at least its not raining :) I had my first decent day on track yesterday since i don't know when  approx 1400cals + 23g fat with about 50 mins exercise (i wish i could keep that up everyday) and now look what day it is FRIDAY which means my brain will think its a holiday and want chocolate and beer..it will probably get the beer but i ain't buying it any chocolate  i can't believe i'm dragging my heels so much this year in doing this  so now i'm going to commit to losing 20lbs by the end of July and if i don't look like i'm making any progress be sure to kick me in the A!! I'm going to do the Pilates tape again this morning and hopefully treadmill too.
BBL..hope to see more posts :D |
Good morning ladies,
Hope everyone is doing well,,, two more days and this hectic acitvity should subside to a normal level. But the good news is I have lost 9.5 pounds. It feels so good to see that metal monster heading down. My goal is to be under 200 by the fourth of July and if I can keep up my good ways I CAN DO IT...:jig: I am determined, and it is becoming the way I eat....I just am so physched up. I come home after working 12 hrs. and I make supper for hubby, but I just don't even feel like eating... I eat a small portion and clean up and go on... and it feels great... I am wearing a pair of jeans today that I haven't worn for a while cause they were to tight, and they feel comfortable today... :D I have tried to keep up reading the posts but haven't been to successful with it... after this week, things should slow down and I should have more time to post again. I have Monday off as we decided to close for that day...and I plan to stay home and do a little house work and just relax... :cp: Hope all are doing well, I read a couple of you have quit exercising and are not eating well, it seems that its a vicious cycle, so many are doing good and so many have fallen...:grouphug: I think we should have a challenge to get the whole bunch of us doing good at the same time...:) ok well I am feeling good and hopefully I can keep this feeling and continue on the downward swing. Gotta go so have a good weekend everyone, Dahlia |
Morning!
Great to hear from you Dahlia, and what wonderful news -- down almost 10 lbs!!! That is just an awesome accomplishment and I am so proud of you. And, Cathy, you put in a great OP day if I must say so myself -- less than 20% fat grams is terrific. I just can't get motivated -- perhaps concentrating your successes, you two, will be good for me. And, Pam's too! Woke up to another rainy day today but the birds are out singing up a storm and it's very peaceful so not a bad morning at all. Just sitting here enjoying my coffee and the quiet. Russ is already at work (he leaves at 6am -- better him than me) and Chris is still sleeping. Russ is sometimes a bit too unbending with him. He was at a dance club last night (first time ever) and was going to be about 10 minutes late, so he called to tell us that. His curfew is midnight (he's 18) so Russ got on his case. Suppossedly he was dancing with "the hottest girl in the school" when he had to leave. It sounds funny, but that's important to a high schooler, especially one who doesn't even date much. I didn't want to butt in (I had no problem with him staying out an extra half hour) because G-od forbid something happened than I would feel so guilty. He doesn't drink, he doesn't do drugs, he calls when he's on his way home ... his only vice is his big mouth. Oh well, he was the same way with Katie and she survived, so I guess Chris will too. I tell him he had no life when he was in high school and it shows! It's all about picking your battles I guess ... when the time's right I'll get my two cents in ... always do! Hmm .... can't get any smilies to work this morning. Cyber ghosts again! Well, let me go and get another cup of coffee and check email .... hope everyone has a great Saturday "come rain or come shine" (Ok, start singing, everyone!). Getting silly -- got to drink faster! Always, Terry |
Morning Ladies,
Terry..I'll send you some :goodvibes to get you back on track :) Poor Chris..having to leave the "hottest chick in school" :( did he remember to leave his shoe on the steps before he jumped in his pumpkin to rush home? ;) I had another good day yesterday..1185cals and 26g fat..i think the poached egg that i had for breakfast upped the fat grams but i'm still happy about it..only had one light beer too :) and when i was buying groceries i picked up some chocolate fingers covered in Belgian chocolate :T 3 times before i talked myself out of buying them  i've had them before and i know how i go at them once the box is opened..and they're really high in cals and fat..6 fingers is 170cals and 7.7g fat :yikes: far too high for those little things...i did the Pilates tape again too and i've almost mastered the "pretzel" move! Dahlia..that is fantastic..9.5lbs gone..woohoo!! I stopped exercising for a few weeks to do outdoor stuff but i've recently started again (the weeds and broom can wait) Keep up the great work. |
Morning Ladies
Another great day for me yesterday :) 1350cals + 22fat gms :D i can't believe that i stayed on track over the weekend :cb: i'm hoping that this is a trend i can keep up...i did'nt exercise yesterday but even i'm entitled to a day off..are'nt i? :^: How are you doing Terry? did the :goodvibes help? come on lets kick some lard out of our lives ;) |
Had a fantastic weekend, was away with Ray for my birthday - no boys. Ate too much, drank far too much (nothing new there). Did a lot of walking and went for a long bike ride, but the pounds are still there. Am expecting a big gain tonight at weight watchers. But I don't care, I know it's happened and why I will be gaining. I need to stand up and face it and deal with it.
Had to much fun eating and drinking to worry about the scales. Back to reality - here's to getting below 200lbs in the very near future |
Hi Everyone :?:
Carol..so glad you had a fantastic BD :D :balloons: you'll soon have the extra lbs off ;) Hey Terry...where are you? not having pooter probs again i hope :) Day 5 for me..i'm really "into" this now :cp: AT LAST! i must have heard that "click" that Oprah talks about  i had 1422cals + 20g fat yesterday :) ( i had 2 beers too) and walked 2.30mls on the weightloss program..i don't feel like i'm dieting at all..in fact i now realise that chocolate is a trigger for me and i won't be buying it anymore..a big sacrifice for a chocoholic like me but i was doing really well before easter and then when i started on the chocolate again everything went downhill..so i will be avoiding it from now on...i've also started buying W.W bread again..i quit because i hated paying all that for a smaller loaf but it really makes a difference in my calorie count (96cals for 2sls versus 143 cals for wonder) i know its only a psychological trick i'm playing on myself but its working for me :D i think i'll do the Pilates tape this morning..are you WATP's? Terry ;) Hi Pam, Meg, Dahlia, Grandma and Anyone else..hope you are having a great day. |
Just got your mail Terry :) so i know that your pooter is alive and well ;) you're just half asleep
|
Hey all,
Just checking in to say hi. No more new news here. It's grey and cloudy here but that's alright as it was a scorcher of a weekend. Cat, way to go on getting into the groove. You work it sister! Carol, sounds like you had a lovely birthday. Way to be honest with yourself. I think that's important too, not just watching the numbers on the scale. You will do it I know you will. Dahlia, way to go on the pounds lost. I'm so happy for you. Terry, how was your weekend? Did you and Russ find any trouble or was it a quiet weekend in? Meg, Grandma G, Emily and everyone else I've missed, a big hi to you all. Have a good day, Pam |
