I'm here :D
Have had a lazy morning- Ian went to bed for the night last night way early- like 6 pm!! So Fed him when I went to bed at 10:30 and he slept until 4:30. He was up for about an hour- just awake noit fussy so I dozed. Fell back to sleep an hour later and we all got up at 8:30. Don't have to be anywhere until later so we are having a "lounging morning" (ie. no on is dressed yet) It's been so loong and I'm enjoying it!!
Ian gets his shots this afternoon- poor little guy. Hope it doesnt' change his personality- he really is sooo easy-going!.
I'm back on the wagon this week. Goals for every day are: get a walk in (Even if just 15 min.) water water water and NO fast-food. I do so much better if I make it a real goal. ANd hold me accountable guys!

Later

Hey T..you there :?: guess what? i bought my Womans World mag yesterday at Walmart and on the front cover it say's LOSE 50LBS IN 45 DAYS! with the doctors discovery that rejuvenates your metabolism! and guess what that diet is? The South Beach Diet :D it took one girl one week to lose a dress size another lost 27lbs, another 38lbs and the best one of all lost 50lbs in 45 days!
I might just study that a bit today :s:

cat90 06-23-2003 01:40 PM

 i just looked at SBD and it say's no fruit for the first two weeks and i did a big grocery shop yesterday and bought kilos and kilos of pears..apples and bananas  thinking that i was being good to myself by trying to eat some instead of throwing it away like i usually do :dz: so that is that plan outta the window for now anyway

Hi ladies,

Ok, don't want to be a spoilsport here ladies, but let's be realistic... every paper or magazine you pick up has some magic way to lose pounds and inches in a short time.... but let's be truthful to ourselves.. now if you really lost 50 pounds in 45 days by not eating certain foods and only eating a few things... how long would you keep it off.. cause we all know, slow and steady is the only true way to lose it and keep it off but changing our eating habits..for good, not just a few weeks...

The normal way is hard and takes an effort.. that is how all these people try to make a fortune but those who are looking for a fast cure.. but if it sounds to good to be true.. you can bet it is...

Ok, it is hot here today... in the 80's.... and humid... suppose to rain and storm after midnight,, sure hope we get rain.. it is also very dry...

I am home an hour early today.. hubby relieved me for the last hour... so I could come home and cool off.. it's 82 outside and over 100 in the greenhouses....no breeze today to help out..

well better go start supper. one good thing about coming home an hour early, besides checking in earlier.. is to eat at a normal time... so I have more of an evening to enjoy...

take care all, where is Pam, and grandma G? hope everyone is doing fine...

Hi Dahlia,
You should go to www.Prevention.com and check out the South Beach Diet..it is'nt one of those stupid fad diets its really very healthy and you don't only eat certain things you just abstain from a few for the first 2 weeks..that would be the hard part for me :dz: but Terry did it and she's lost 12lbs (i think) :cp:
I did my Pilates 20 min tape and walked/jogged 1.5mls today :)

Dahlia 06-23-2003 10:13 PM

Cathy,
I already read about it and in fact have it printed out on my desk to give it a try.. I wasn't only talking about the SB diet... someone mentioned losing 50 pounds in 6 wks.. sure you can do it... but not by conventional means... and it usually don't stay off.. that is all I said... and many have proven that to be true,,, myself included.... we have to change our eating habits for a life time... to maintain.. but I know first we have to get there... well to whatever works for each of us... I say good luck to us all..

well off to bed... been a long day.

Morning!!

Different plans work for different people because our lifestyles, metabolism, bodies, and food choices vary.

What I like best about SBD is that it has the best of both worlds -- you lose a nice number of pounds during the first few weeks, which does wonders for the psyche, eliminate some hunger cravings. and then afterwards it's a healthy 1-2 lbs per week average until you get to goal. You eliminate bad carbs and bad fats and eat healthy -- and realistically -- after the initial detox stage.

Dang, have to run -- Chris' friend is due any second and I am still sitting here in my nightgown. Be back after they leave!!

Always, Terry

OK, now I have the house to myself -- heaven-sent silence.

Cathy, eat your fruit and start SBD next week -- I hate to throw away food! It's probably because I spend a fortune on it every grocery trip. I can't wait to see the difference in my bill once Chris is off to school in September. Watch him be back every weekend!

Dahlia, you got that right, if we don't change our eating pattern, all the weight comes right back on with a vengeance. Boy, how I wish I had taken that into consideration the first time I lost 50 lbs. I vow never to let that happen again!

Off topic now! Any idea how to stop porno emails and spam?? I block the senders, and they just change their email so it comes back (like weight!) with a different sender's name. Hopefully, when I change my email (ATTBI has been bought out by Comcast so I'll need a new email soon) that will solve the problem. It's very annoying!!!!

OK, dear ladies, have a wonderful day. I've brought store work home to do so I plan on having a busy one!

I'll check back in later -- think thin!

cat90 06-24-2003 04:36 PM

Drat, I just wrote a long post and got a weird message about the server closing down when it read the response  and i swear i was'nt being rude

Cool Mom 06-24-2003 04:41 PM

:nose: :nose: :nose: !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dahlia 06-24-2003 09:19 PM

Terry,
I know what you are saying about the spam and porn e-mail... we just changed our provider and have a new email address which we rarely give out.. but we are still gettting those emails.. under a different name each time.. I keep sending them in to the provider's so they can try to trace them back and put a stop to it.. but they just change their name... if you find a cure let me know..

It was so Hot again today...feel really drained.... suppose to rain, but is still dry as a bone... poor plants.. am tired of watering at work and at home....

still maintaining at same number... need to give it a boost to get moving on the downward swing again....

heading to bed.. have a good evening all..

Dahlia

cat90 06-25-2003 10:44 AM

Hey my nose is'nt that big T  i was telling the truth..honest!

Those emails are a :censored: nuisance  i just delete all mail from anyone i don't know before i open mine..it saves the bother of having to look at it  or you could open a hotmail account if you have'nt already got one and they filter it into a junk mailbox it does'nt get all of it but it does get a lot :D

Was busy yesterday with court and celebrating last night becauses we won :cp: but i did manage to walk 1.25mls on the treadmill in the afternoon..better than nothing i suppose..i'll do more this morning :)

Cool Mom 06-25-2003 11:18 AM

OK, here I go again! I had just written a long post and we had a power surge and blew it into cyberspace! It's almost 85 deg and it's not even noon yet -- another record breaker I think. Seems we went right from winter into fall into summer -- no spring. Last night it was 95 deg at 7pm --- crazy!

Cathy, glad you made out well yesterday. All that prep work and it was over so quick -- you won your case so it was worth it though :).

Dahlia, gee, and here I thought a new service provider and a new email addy would solve my problem! I don't mind the spam, it's just the porno that gets me -- I may enjoy a good joke and talk a good game, but --- !! I guess Cathy is right, just delete it all. Almost seems illegal though ....

Dahlia, didn't you say you were going on vacation soon?? We have no plans for this summer (amazing how college tuition bills kill all that fast!) except for some day trips. Being equidistant from NY City and Boston (2 hrs) makes for some nice car rides.

Back to work for me .... have a great day ladies and keep thinking healthy.

Always, Terry

cat90 06-25-2003 01:11 PM

equidistant? hey i learned a new word  :chin: i must say i'm impressed T..i've never come across that one before ;) how great to live only a couple of hours from those cities :) i'm only 45 mins from Victoria so i suppose i'm lucky too :D

 i can hardly see..the sun is streaming in and burning my head and i'm squinting at the computer screen :chin: hmmm maybe it was'nt such a good idea to move the computer over here  anyway, "the view" is on so i'm off to get fit!

Cool Mom 06-25-2003 01:36 PM

Cathy, speaking of Victoria, Russ and I were watching "Extreme Homes" on HGTV over the weekend, and one of the houses was located in Victoria. I told Russ, "my friend, Cathy, lives near there" -- glad to see I was only 45 minutes off!

I'm alphabetizing work stuff -- and like a nut I'm sitting on the deck in all this heat -- keep running into the house though to continually do laundry so it's not too bad. C, have a good workout!

Howdy, Dahlia and everyone --- hope y'all having a great day :)

Terry
