Hmmm, :chin: how interesting :) i don't suppose any specific area was mentioned was it? i would love to know if i know that area ;)
I just walked/jogged 1.25mls and i came downstairs for a break and guess what i'm doing now? MOVING FURNITURE  so the computer has got yet another home  out of the sun this time..only problem is the reflection of the window in the screen is driving me nuts now  I'm missing out on the sun its gorgeous and i should be out there too  |
Hi ladies,
Terry,I don't mind the spam either but I don't have a penis nor do I want to increase its size if I had one... so I hate getting all those stupid emails...they write subjects like they are your good buddies so they sneak past the filters.. oh well, guess we just keep deleting them... it is 85 here also...and was over 100 in the greenhouse... so when hubby came home after making his deliveries in the airconditioned van.. he let me come home to cool off. but can't say its much cooler in here...got all the windows open and the vans on but have no ac.. so is still hot... I love to watch hgtv.. especially the decorating shows... my favorite is Matt and Sherry in Room by Room.. haven't seen them in a while though.. can't wait to be able to watch tv again...no time these days... and no I am not going on vacation till oct. when we are driving out to see our son and his family in calif. But I am closing up shop one week from today.. it is to hot to be in there, most things are gone..even the poor plants are dying... of the heat.. have to water them twice a day...so will take off the roofs and cool it down and move everything out....if its not found a home by now, it won't so either we plant it ourselves, transplant it into a bigger pot for fall sales or pitch it...whichever, I am done... till fall there anyway.. still have piles of paper work to do. well think I am going to go jump into the shower and cool down then stick supper in the oven,, I have to go back at 5:45 to close up shop, then am done for the day.... we also jumped from winter to summer, our spring was terribly cold.. but now its soooo hot.... would like a happy medium... hello to everyone....hope all is well Dahlia |
Morning!
Dahlia, LOL, glad to know that you don't qualify for any of THOSE emails! I bet you hate to throw away those plants -- too bad you can't donate them to non-profit places to spruce up their curb appeal. OK, glad I wasn't dreaming, I thought you were going to California, just didn't realize it was in the fall. I would be excited to take any road trip these days! Hope you found some relief from the heat as the day progressed :). Cathy, it was down by the water and they had said a lot of movies were filmed in his house because it's so unique. His first name was "Alaine" (sp??) and he was from Quebec because he had "the accent!" Do you get HGTV as it's really a great station -- I love all the decorating shows, but enjoy "Extreme Homes" the best. It just amazes me what some people will build with! Any more thoughts on those exercise programs you were thinking about from that website?? Did I tell you I did check it out?? Impressive success stories! So, did DH notice all the new changes after furniture moving?? Most men don't! Dahlia, I printed out that list of shade loving plants you mentioned as I would love to do something near the trees we have in the backyard. We have a guy coming soon to work on the lawn (huge sink hole needs to be filled -- must have buried a ton of stumps, etc when they built the house in 1982 and now they have all decayed leaving this attractive pit in the middle of the back yard) -- maybe spruce it up in the fall or next spring. Always something to do!! I peeked at the scale this morning and it's down a pound. I am trying to be very good this week because we are going out to eat with another couple Saturday -- to a blues joint that has great ribs and BBQ and music of course :). They also have the greatest cornbread -- a red light food so I am hoping I don't even make eye contact with it. OK, I have written another book here!!! Time for coffee #2 .... later gators!! |
Good Morning Ladies,
Terry  i just had to check the tv listings to see if i get HGTV and i do  but i've never watched it! in fact its amazing how many of these channels i don't even look at..i really should be more adventurous  that house being by the water could be anywhere as we're surrounded by the stuff but i suspect that it is downtown..there are lots of heritage houses down there..as for the exercise vids i'm trying really really hard to abstain ;) i've already got enough that i don't use! Congratulations on another 1lb gone! i was reading the SBD sheet i printed out..are you never allowed to drink alcohol again other than wine? if not i think he's lost another convert :dizzy: i've got to try and eat some of that fruit i bought..there are a ton of pears looking at me from the counter and i tried ONE and they just don't taste as good as canned to me  i did have a granny smith apple yesterday afternoon tho' and i enjoyed that..the trouble is i bought all this fruit to substitute for other things in my diet but i'm not doing that i'm eating them AS WELL as the other things  anybody else guilty of that? i need to totally retrain myself as far as my diet goes. I am good at reading labels and buying low-fat tho' i've even started buying light cheese so i can try and eat a little and hubby has'nt even noticed that it is light so he'll be on that from now on, no more buying two lots :D Hubby did notice that i'd changed the furniture around again btw. I did'nt get out in the sun at all yesterday..a bit of exercise.. shampooing carpets..laundry..moving furniture..cleaning and making dinner was the order of the day..oh..and nipping to the store for a few things..i'm hoping to get all my jobs done this morning do some exercise and then get out on the deck today and its 8.30am now so i'd better hustle. |
Hello ladies,
Well, it sure was a different day today,, I actually had my light jacket on part of the day, where as yesterday I was melting in the shade... cold front came thru last night..but is ok.. more comfortable to work today. Which we decided Saturday would be my last day, closing her down then. And Terry, yes I hate to pitch the plants, well some I am happy to... but as for donating. We do donate to a few places every year, and give reduced prices to many places also.. but one year we donated a whole crop of indoor plants to a nursing home.. there was enough for every single resident to get one.. but when we took them over, the staff acted like we were intruding, giving them more work... and not one said they appreciated it.... we don't know if the residents even got them in their rooms or not... and yes we called ahead to see if they would like them.. the supervisor said it would be a great pick me up to the patients... anyway after that, we figured heck with them...and some places you give them something one year they expect it all the time then.. and we never know what will be left... there isn't really that much... we have put lots of it out in front to decorate the place..anyway, I've had enough of them... if I don't ever have to deadhead another petunia it will be nice..:?: Oh, Cathy, I hear you on the fruit.. dh and I have both tried having lots of fruit in the house to snack on... but no matter how much fruit we eat, it just don't hit the spot like other things.. so we ended up just eating both...:^: Well, have to do payroll now then I have two new catalogs that I received today, going to curl up and leaf thru them... Son was home from Chicago for last 2 days... always hate to say good bye to my kids...he left half an hour ago...feel a little depressed....forgot to take my pills this morning.. had to take them with supper, so that explains it.. don't help though....:dizzy: OK.. getting off of here now..procrastinating cause I am tired. but have to get payroll done...or some workers won't be to happy with me come tomorrow.:D Night all, Dahlia |
Morning!
Up with the birds today as I have to take my mom to the doctor (regular appt) at 9am. Looks like your cold front is coming our way, Dahlia -- temps are suppossed to be in the 80s and less humid over the weekend. Feels great to have summer weather -- at last. I hear ya about the charitable donations. Russ used to donate fur hats, coats, etc to a lot of organizations for charity auctions, only to have the winners gripe about the item and want to exchange it for a better piece at the same cost. Not worth the hassle any more -- he's very selective now. Sad commentary .... I hope this finds you feeling more chipper -- after Katie leaves, the house feels so empty. Ha, with Chris, I'll hold the door open! No, only joking, he's a good kid. Hey, how many 18 yr olds tell their mom in front of their friends that he loves her -- I'm sure he says quite a few other things too when we have "words!" Morning Cathy! The first two weeks of SBD are a detox period to abolish cravings and clean out your system. After that, you slowly add back into your diet good carbs and good fats. The weight loss slows down to a healthy 1-2 lbs per week on the average. It's a healthy diet as he first devised it for his heart patients to better their blood chemistry but found that it benefitted their weight loss too. A lot of folks use the two week detox period as a jump start to weight loss (as the average person loses between 8-20 lbs), and then modify their diet to their lifestyle. In other words, they will go back to counting calories and fat grams like you do, or go back to counting points with WW, etc. You lost weight before and still drank your beer -- it's never going to work if you have to continuously deprive yourself of everything that you like. Moderation is the key with all weight loss programs. Even with SBD, he says, that if you want something, eat it -- just don't eat it everyday! That initial weight loss (even though it's a lot of water weight) really sparks the motivation though .... :). Well let me go and start watering the yard -- we put down some more grass seed yesterday. A woman's job is never done!! Have a wonderful day, ladies!! Always, Terry |
Morning Ladies,
Hey T..are you trying to fill in that sink hole with grass? ;) I have'nt got much grass here..well..i do..but its all brown  you can pour as much water on it as you like but because it is on a rock it just goes brown...i do have some green areas around the house but it can hardly be described as lawn and it would never get confused with a golfcourse  I was really lazy yesterday..it was so nice..we were out on the deck at 10.30am..i thought to heck with housework after all who does it affect? only me and hubby and if we can live with it without it looking like a show home all the time then who cares  and i did'nt exercise either :o I'm BAD Today is'nt faring any better..i just don't want to sweat on a treadmill..i wanna sit in the sun ;) |
Yo!
When I was in college, I'd sleep until past noon on Satudays, and now I am up with the birds. My how priorities change over the years. Early mornings are the best part of the day :) Cathy, sounds like you had a lovely day relaxing yesterday -- does both body and soul good ya know. And, housework will always be there -- even we maids deserve a day off! :smug: I played hookey yesterday too and didn't get any store work done -- took a nap, sat out on the deck and read. Just one of those days. Must have been the heat, sounds like a good excuse anyway. We have a mixed lawn -- I grow dirt very well  too. According to the guy that cuts whatever lawn we have, he blames it on the trees. He has something against trees. It kills me because people pay big money for a treed lot to build their house, and then cut down all the trees. Then, they replant the scraniest looking specimen they can find to replace 30 yr oaks and elms. Go figure. Going out tonight -- planning to eat light AND enjoy my wine! I need to get back into exercise too -- need to force myself to get into the routine. Send some motivation this way, Cathy :) . Morning Dahlia, Carol, Pam, Em, and everyone  !! More later -- newspaper and coffee's calling :) ........... Always, Terry |
Hi Ladies,
T..I wish i had some to send but i have'nt exercised since Wednesday  i just don't want to in this heat  i really should start going on bike rides again..i like that..but even that is a nuisance because i have to load up the bike in the car and take it to the trail  but at least i'd be out with the fresh air blowing through my hair instead of sweating indoors..i can even ride to the beach from here so that would be nice. I took some "Before" pics yesterday ( :sssh: in a bikini ) and a mismatched one at that  i could'nt fit in the bikini top (my cup runneth over) so i had to wear another one and believe me if the sight of that does'nt help me lose weight then nothing will!!! They will make great pics to put next to my "After" ones though. Going to run a few errands before it gets too hot not to mention busy..BBL  |
Hi Ladies,
Hmmm, i did'nt run the errands..spent a couple of hours on the deck instead  they can wait until tomorrow ;) I posted my "before" pics on my yahoo website so if you're interested you can see them at : http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/cathy_cat15 You will find them in the last album..the Yahoo photo album. l was inspired to do them after looking at Jessie's photos :cp: (summer challenge) and after 'chatting' with another girl who was posting hers :D l could really see the difference in 2001 so i'm hoping they'll motivate me into making some changes...off to make brekky i'll BBL  |
:drill: Come on you luvverly lot..where are ya? ;)
B & B is just coming on and i've committed to doing a workout for the half hour while i watch it so i'll BBL  |
Yo!
A wild and wooly day -- all is well but busy. I hate Mondays as there is so much to do around here after having everyone home for the weekend. Cathy, I enjoyed all the pictures you posted -- it was like having my own personal slideshow. I would love to have your present body --- wanna switch??!! I had 4 glasses of wine Saturday night but was really very good aside from that. So far so good for today too. Still can't get into exercise though -- maybe tomorrow??? Chris wants the computer so let me go -- sorry this is so short. Hopefully I'll be back later tonight or tomorrow morning. Take care -- T |
Thanks for the offer Terry..but i think i'll keep this old bag of bones  i'll just try and improve it a bit :D
I've resolved to not drinking beer during the week so i've just had a diet pop  its the only way i'll get any results..there are far too many empty calories in it  so i'll just have to sacrifice  hubby offered me one tonight and i said "no..i'm on a diet" how many times has he heard that  in fact he's just looking at me eating a chocolate pudding and said "so, you're on a diet?" well it is a healthy choice pudding! |
You tell him, Cathy! I love the ff puddings and the sugarless jellos that you buy already made in the dairy section.
It's one heck of a gorgeous day today and I am sitting out on the deck doing store paperwork. Made a big chef salad for lunch and right after I leave here, I am going to attack it with gusto! Also doing laundry at the same time -- no wonder we women are great multi-taskers ;) . Official weigh-in was this morning and I lost 3 lbs from last Tuesday (but it really averaged out to a 1 lb loss because I gained some during the week but lost it just in time  ). I had a bit too much wine Saturday night so wasn't sure what the scale would read. OK, lunch calls -- have a great Tuesday everyone!! Terry :) |
Hi everybody. Time is short and it has taken me ages to catch up with everybody this evening.
The school holidays have started in Scotland, so the boys are hyper and enjoying all the free time. Meanwhile I'm busy running a taxi service to take them to child care in the morning and then making sure we do stuff in the evening. Is very stressful - for me anyway. Work is still going ballistic, is also very stressful at the moment, but I finish up in a fortnight for 3 weeks holiday and I can't wait. My weight is going to right way, I lost another 2lbs this week and have managed to get down to 202.5lbs, am getting quiet exicted about breaking that 200lbs mark, but am trying not to get my hopes up. Would love to break it next week, but am not getting my hopes up, (honest :))but it would be nice to type 1XXlbs. Have been eating junk tonight so if I don't stop that then I'll go the wrong way next week and lose the whole plot. Was quite good last night when WW lady said I was back with her, for the last few weeks, about 6, I have definately being playing at it, losing a wee half a pound here, staying the same, etc. Feel I am back on the ball and focused, even if I have slipped tonight. Hopefully this time next year I'll be posting I've reached my goal. Am waffling again, nothing new, Sean wants to use the computer and I'm trying to persuade him it's bed time, I am going to win, he is being an angel at the moment. Is even cuddling me as I'm typing, unheard of a week ago. |
