Morning Girls…hope you all had a great weekend…I did, although it did get a bit hot for me…we did go to the track on Friday and had a great time…but again, it got hot, haha….but after all the walking that morning and day I finally got the scale to budge….I was showing up by almost two pounds all week, and I wasn’t cheating or doing anything different, my body was just hanging on to water weight or something…who knows but it was VERY frustrating to see all week …then finally on Saturday morning it showed me back down to 213 with those 2 extra pounds off …its almost like I can’t break in to 212 to save my life !!! haha …hope to see it , well really 211 by week end.
Dee – dh and I don’t have any kids….we decided a long time ago that it wasn’t for us….dh is in graphic design…I think it is so freakin sweet that you and your dh are still that romantic….yes, we are lucky ….okay yes I do have a pet, a westie named Les …he is 11 years old and has quite the attitude, haha ….he is adorable, we have had him since he was 6 weeks old which makes the thought of losing him horrible. No, I don’t have a nook or kindle…I would rather have the feel of an old book in my hand…I am a very old fashioned 38 yr old, lol Susie – congrats on the loss…any loss is better than a gain, so take it !! Dated a Bengal football player? Wow….interesting….love me some football players, haha …Glad to hear about your dh and the great relationship you have, he sounds like a great guy. Yes, my dh does have a lot of tattoos, and his hair definitely reminds me of Adam Levine ( which I also think is nice to look at haha ). I guess the boring part of being OP is maybe my food choices, I am going to start mixing it up with some new things I haven’t tried…I had kohlrabi for the first time this weekend and really liked it …just don’t know what to do with it? OMG time flies! I can't believe it's been soo long since I posted! :\ I finished w4/d1 of c25k today and did some weight training. Unfort, I kinda gained a bit of weight thought I don't know if it was water weight or what when I started c25k (my cals were way over most of the time, that's why I'm not sure). I feel so bad cause even though I've had the NSV of sticking to my workouts (so far, in the past I would half assedly do them for 2-3 weeks then quit, and now I feel bad when I don't workout, I even think about doing it on the weekends when I KNOW my body needs to rest) I haven't lost any weight :\ and I have had a hard time resisting temptation :\ school is going well except for I didn't go to class today because I have a HUGE migraine. I tried working out 1) because I wanted to and 2) to see if the endorphines moving in my system would help...nogo. I'm gonna take a shower in a few then go back to bed until the BF gets home. Unfort it's leftovers for dinner tonight. I won't get anywhere NEAR my 1250 cal limit today. I have only had 130 so far, am not hungry and will prolly just have a light taco salad for dinner ( we have taco stuff left from two nights ago) huggss to all, I'm gonna take my computer in the bedroom so I will check in in a few hours again and prolly update my blog then.

I have been itching all morning due to about 6-8 mosquito bites I got over the weekend. Driving me nuts :crazy: Stepped on the scale again this morning hoping to see 212 ...told myself if I saw 212 I would not get back on scale until Saturday but of course it was 213.0 ...so still right on the freakin cusp, haha :stress: Just trying to see that number because for some reason my body hasn't wanted to for the last couple of weeks...Need to break thru it so I can get into the single digit 2's ...I did drop my calories by about 35-40 starting Sunday so hopefully that will be the thing to do it for me this week. Feeling soooo much better this morning. Glad my headache is gone...wish my back and hip pain from being in bed all day yesterday would go too :\ stepped on the scale this morning it was 238...so a little movement YAY! but seeing as the lowest number I've ever seen is 236 about a month and a half ago it is a LITTLE discouraging, I didn't make it into the 220's in april like I wanted, and prolly won't make it again in may unless a miracle happens. Crossing my fingers for early-mid june! did my workout this morning, 20 mins recumbent bike and 30 mins walking the treadmill (this is my rest day routine from c25k and strength training). today a friend is coming over to hang out so I won't be soooo bored, but I do need to get SOME homework done. LOL. Also, my boyfriends analog scale is driving me NUTS so I am going to look at one at target that is digital...hopefully they have one for about $20 or so. carri- sorry the scale didn't say what you want, I know how you feel I've been kinda stuck lose a bit stuck, lose a bit since last september :\ hang in there it WILL get better! |
Hi Everyone: I am so glad it is Tuesday..I am taking a vacation day on Friday so I only have 2 more days of work this week!
Friday won't be relaxing. I'm going to be up with my father-in-law at 7:00 going to go get some mulch and redo a area in front of my porch where we took out some bushes last fall. I'll post a picture when we finish on Friday. Also, have a lot to purchase for cookout but DH is going to help with that. Tonight my friend and I will be doing our 5k training and actually doing the 5k course that we do for the Turkey Trot 5k in November. I hope we can get that time down. It's just her and me competing against the clock. It is cooler today and I'm glad since we are doing that 5 k. Dee: I have never been to upper MI but I would love to go to Mackinaw island sometime. If I do..we are walking across that bridge together! I lol when I read your comment about Ohio and our accents. I'm told all the time that I sound southern and I think I sound like a Yankee! lol Dee: I think your body wants to set at 212 but I know you can overcome. Dreamer: Nice to see you back posting. Mel: I was thinking about you the other day when I saw on FB that you stained that swingset. I was thinking how much easier it must have been for you with that weight gone! Carri, I plant kohlrabi every summer in my garden, yum. If you plant it, make sure to pick it when it is tennis ball size, no larger or it will taste rubbery. We always eat it raw, I make lots of summer cold meals for customers, like a Italian salad w garden veggies & hard salami + pastrami or pepperoni & black olives, I put kohlrabi in it too, yum. I also add it to my summer pasta salads. Google-it or ask your mom how she uses it. Wow I love your dh's career, what would the world be like without creative people...just a boring world. I see who the boss is in your home, your little room-mate/baby boy Les. I don't know how you can have just 1 doggie, we gotta have a best friend for ours. I've been breeding since I was a child, my dad was a breeder & trained doggies. So I've always had at least 2 doggies since I left home. That's a 'requirement' for the guys I had dated, you gotta Luv doggies & like the water & you r Not a athiest, or no 2nd date w this girl :cool: Hmm, your 212 pds is annoying you :dizzy: Have you tried drinking a full glass of water before eating every time? Bob Harper, BL reccomends that & it works, I eat less, he also says 'no' carbs after 7pm unless you r going to the gym, etc to loose those carbs that will go straight-to-our belly/thighs. Don't let it get you down, go play & it will come-off. Susie, I have a yankee accent but my heart is all southern. I was born up here when dad & mom were visiting friends in MI, but I lived for years in Charleston as a child, then we came to MI to live. Labor Day is the only day allowed to walk the Mackinaw Bridge, there is a day in May to ride across on bike, but looking @ the water on my bike would make me dizzy :dizzy: so we've never tried that yet. We rode across on our motorcycles & thats a rush w the wind blowing. If you do decide to come up in the summer, we'll talk a few months prior & get reservations early close to the Island or at a Bed & Beakfast on the Island before they're filled-up. Seth our son takes his wife for their yrly anniversary & they stay on the island for 3 nights @ B&B's. We had always camped in Mackinaw City & took our bikes across to travel around the island for the day. Our first trip dating, Ron took me to Mackinaw Is. & he rented us a horse & buggy, well the horse had gas & took 'fart' breaks, the horses know their way around the island & where to snack & you don't even need the reins :o Anyways plan to gain 1#-2#, the food is good & fudge shops r everywhere up there. Good Morning Girls ( and boy lurkers haha ) – well the scale finally broke for me and gave me a 212.2 this morning….so let’s hope that is a sign of good things to come and I will be at 211 something by the weekend…trying to weigh less than my dh …lol …no but seriously the man weighs 209….he is not overweight …well he was but he recently lost 20…and I know it sounds silly but I just want to get a number lower than his…I have never hid my weight from him, meaning I have always told him the exact number, so it would be nice to be able to tell him I weigh less…ya know?
This work week seems to be dragging !!! Maybe it is because I know we have a three day holiday weekend and I want it to be here now !!! Dh is taking me to dinner tonight and I told him I want sushi, mmmmmm ….so looking forward to that…any of you like sushi? Edamame ? I love it, plus it is a good for you food…well if you make smart choices. I have on this really cool nail polish today ( I think I may have said before that I am a nail polish freak ) it is a magnet nail polish and it makes such cool designs on the nails…maybe I will take a pic later and upload here or on fb…can’t seem to get a good pic of it though … Anybody know when Big Brother starts? To me it is not Summer until Big Brother starts…I haven’t heard anything about it on TV yet, normally it seems they are already showing the promo’s for it…do any of you watch it? I have watched it every Summer since the first season…so I guess that would be 12-13 years? Wow … Dee – I didn’t know kohlrabi could be eaten raw, so that is good to know…I bet it would be good in Summer salads, I will try that…and you are right I used to be more strict about my carbs a while ago in the evening and I need to do that again …thanks for the reminder. Susan – I am jealous of your 4 day weekend, I would like to take Friday off too but too many people here at work already have it off so I gotta stay, plus I don’t need to use anymore time, need to save some for later in the year. Hello, I'm waiting for a meeting to start and I thought I would use the time to catch up with all of my 3Fatchick friends!
Last night my friend and I did our practice 5k (it's a part of our every 4 week training--4th week is we do the 5k we did for the Turkey Trot last November). We both wore pedometers to make sure that the course was actually longer than a 5k and it is. It's a whole mile longer! That's ok..we just keep going and the extra mile helps us for future 5k's to get that time down. So, at 3.1 miles (5k) we were at 44 min! Our lowest time every. We finished the route 4.1 miles in 60 min. Once we had that 5k in we slowed up a bit..girls we were moving! It felt so good! Physcially and mentally. When I do that I feel like I can do anything that I set my mind too. Tonight we will bike or do the ellipical for 20 min and then it is time to go to the weight room..1st strength training I have done in over a year! I'll be starting light. :) Mandy: I LOVE Myrtle Beach! It is there that I first saw the ocean. It is hard to get back into the routine when you have been out of it..but you can do it. Just set your mind..and come post here daily..it gets you back into the routine. Carri: Cool nails! and I hear you on weighing less that DH. I can't wait until I weigh less than mine..about 25 lbs to go. Enjoy your dinner out tonight..it's about the company and they food. Dee: I LOVED that cowboy dance that Donald and Peta did. It was awesome..I was jumping up and down in my living room. I couldn't believe what I had seen...I laughed when I saw Carrie Ann up on the desk because I would have been right there with her! I DVR'd the results from last night and will watch them this weekend but I do know who won! :) Was yesterday your TOPS night? How did you do? Dreamer: is your name Cassie? Big Brother :dizzy: is supposed to premier July 12. I've also watched it since season 1. I'll keep watching it forever, I enjoy the twists too.

Dee - stay strong still ....I can't imagine how hard it is to have to deal with that on a daily basis and put up a brave front for him. Just stay positive as much as you can. Things can always get better.

carri - that is some pretty cool nail polish....I have seen that magnet nail polish but it looked complicated. Does it go on like normal nail polish or how does that work? susie - way to go on the time! That is awesome! I'm working on doing C25K right now and hoping to be able to run a 5k :D I have never even ran a mile in my life so that will be an accomplishment. Also yes, my name is cassie :D Dee- when you win that lottery can I get a loan for a nice vacation? LOL Had a MAJOR binge last night :\ ate like 3x my calories almost UGH. i was ok till I got home and the BF had ordered pizza, was even ok then, I only had 2 pieces and was slightly over. But then.....the carb rush from the pizza and the salt and the fat started a binge :\ went to target and bought "junk" food. Ugh. Good thing is I am STILL full from yesterday so I doubt I will be eating much today. HOPEFULLY that will help balance out my binge yesterday a bit. |
Morning Ladies – gonna be a hotter one today here …gonna get up to 86 and then starting tomorrow and all thru the weekend it is going to be in the 90’s …ughhhh …gonna be 94 on race day ( Indy 500 ), can’t imagine sitting in the stands when it is that hot …but about 250k people do it every year haha :hot:
Dreamer – no, not that complicated… I mean it does take longer than just painting your nails with normal polish but it’s not hard, and the results are so cool…pizza is my big time binge starter, I love it, and it does send me down an eating spiral with all those carbs…I always want some big dessert right after …I try to stay away from it unless I buy a frozen low calorie one from the store. :dust: :jeno: Susie – Great job on the 5k time….look at you getting all exercising !!! You are doing great…good thing you have a friend to do it with you, I know that really helps. Good luck with the strength training. :jig: Dee – July 12th for Big Brother? Taking a lunch break with you. It would be so fun if we all could get together in person for lunch! or do you think we would all just eat tiny little salads?! :p I am having a salad today for lunch. It's TOPS day and I try to stay light at lunch on weigh-in day. Don't want to undo all I have done all week. The strength training went well last night. I kept wanting to do heavier weights but I reminded myself that I also wanted to continue to strength train and not to over do-it on my first time back in over a year. It is hard when I know I used to do bicip curls with 25 lbs weights and last night I was doing 10's. Oh well..I was there once and can get there again. I think I'm having a IC flare or it could be a uti or a combonation. They feel the same and for the first 10 days I am to treat them the same, cirpro and those pills that number the bladder. I hate to take cirpro as I sometimes show a gain the next week. I feel "tender" today and not much like moving. I will listen to my body as much as I can..also pouring in the water. I'm a big water drinker but I add extra when I feel like this. Dee: :hug: to you. It is hard to support someone who is dealing with a chronic illness. It's hard to be the one with the chronic illness too. I hope that things will ease up in that area for both you and DH soon. Carri: I have a friend who is from Indy and I always tease her and tell her that the people from Indy have no idea this weekend is called Memorial Day because in Indy it is all abot Race Day! We are hosting a cookout Sunday night--come on over! I will do ok when it comes to the meat (since i don't eat it! ;) ) but I LOVE the potato salad and the chip dip. I won't allow chip dip to stay in my house because I go crazy with it. I will be honest and I will tell you that I will eat more chip dip than I should on Sunday night but it will be ok because that will be the only time I eat it. Cassie: Isn't it amazing the power that we let carbs have over us. I agree those are major cravings that one gets from pizza carbs and hard to battle. So, here is some more :dust: to help you kick those cravings and binges. Mandy: I notice you aren't here and I miss you! Liz, Mel, Auntie G, Arabella: are you out there lurking? Quick post this morning. I lost 1.5 lbs at TOPS last night. I am at my lowest weight in 2 years. Feel so good! Makes me want to do it all over again next week! :D

Good Morning Girls – I take periodic pictures of my face to see how my face is thinning and I have to show you these two I have posted below…the first one was in January right before I started my diet, and the 2nd one is from this morning, 26 lbs down later …I can’t believe the difference…my face gets very fat very quickly when I gain weight …I wish I was one of those women who keeps a thin face when overweight, haha

Carri & Cassie :hug: I appreciate your caring thoughts for me, Thank You. My bp was 172/111 Monday night (stroke level) my feet/legs were pins & needles & woke me up. DH took me to the ER. Tuesday our doc bitc*ed-out DH for letting me over-work my 2 jobs, + his wife + manage dh's medical treatments/tests, scheduling, when I'm doing monthly community volunteer work @ church/tops/Red Cross/hospital & be a mom. DH always has his cancer pain under control w his vicodin; so our doc said dh needs to step-up more often to help me; because I'm over-whelmed w so many obligations. She said cancer patients need to get over their self-pity & treat cancer/chemo/tests, the same as diabetes, etc. It was so nice to hear our doc say that she 'cares & she admire me' for giving so much of myself, that I cried. (our internalist doctor admires 'me' wow, I felt sooo humbled & honored by her comments)
Oh Cassie, when I win the Big lottery I Will plan a :beach: spa vacation for all of us on this thread; w horseback-riding & jets ski's :bike: & a beautiful beach :swim: w hot male servants for us. We can send our guys to go play paint-ball :) or on a charter fishing cruise..... I told Carri, I'm getting her & dh a 'food truck' :chef: her dh loves playing w food too, like I do :p ....dreams do come true...somebody wins the big lottery every month... Carri, You made me cry w your post to me after I wrote about being 'drained'; you didn't know What had just happened w my BP Monday night, yet you were so sweet. I got my landscaping project done yesterday. It looks very nice. I will try and take a picture of it and post it. I've not done much of that type of thing and it was fun to learn how to do it. I also noticed that I'm pretty sore in my core area right now; that tells me that was a good workout and it also tells me where I need to work! I am happy to report that my "flare" is gone..because it subsided so quickly that tells me it was a Uti and I was on the right track with the cipro. Today is clean the house, go to a graduation party this afternoon and a graduation ceremony tonight. The ceremony tonight is for my best friend since 2nd day of high school (a LONG time ago), son. My BF had him as a single mom when she was 27; it was a one time thing and his dad never wanted anything to do with him. I was with her in delivery when he was born and am very close to him as I did everything with her and him for most his life. She did marry a wonderful man when her son was 3 and they had another boy later. I'm close to them both but Mickey-her 1st son--holds a very special place in my heart and I can't believe he is graduating high school! He plans to go into Graphic Design. Dee: Your DH's doctor sounds like a very wise person and is the right person to help you and your DH. When I read the BP# you had and went to the ER with I was terrified for you! Hopefully it has improved and that DH is helping you to carry the burdens of daily living. How was the time at the lake? I find that just being around water is calming to me and I hope it helped you too. How exciting that you are going to be sewing a wedding dress! You must take a picture of it and show us when you are finished. Cassie: Hope you made it to the gym. Carri: They say a picture says a thousand words and yours said 26 pounds GONE! It is so freakin hot here today, gonna be in the low 90's today and the mid 90's tomorrow...so Carri will be staying in a/c wherever she is....feel so sorry for all those people at the race, can't imagine how hot it will feel in those stands...they said they have a alot of extra medical personel because of the extreme heat...you add to that alocohol and I bet a lot of people get pretty sick. Dee - Sorry to hear about your bp ...just before my doc put me on stronger bp meds my bp was 160/99 in her office, not once but three times in a row, meaning three different visits...so I know how scary that can be....but she never acted like it was stroke high...scary.... Susie - have fun with the graduation, almost everybody on fb today is talking about having a graduation party or going to one....must be that time...thank you for the comment on the pics, I think it is a huge difference too. I can't believe how fast the holiday weekend has flown by! It has been wonderful to have the time off from work and get some things done and have so "down time" too
Yesterday evening we had a cookout for about 40 people including kids. We all had a blast. I had a waterballon toss for the kids and a squirt gun fight as well. I am happy to say that I didn't have any chip dip. I was to busy taking care of everyone else that needed something that I barely had time to eat. Today we are going to see The Avengers and I'm also reading. Lazy days of summer...I love them! Carri: 210!!!! :carrot: It seems as if your body kicked in and is now working for you and getting that weight off..it yearns to be in ONEDERland! Great job and keep it up. |

Did everyone have a good holiday weekend? We didn’t do too much…it was just so freakin hot out there …mid 90’s ughhhh…thankfully will only be mid 80’s here today and then only in the 70’s the rest of the week, and I will take that as I need to do some yard work this weekend…but I realize it will be short lived…Indiana Summers are always hot and humid…oh well, I guess I can look forward to Fall lol Susie – 40 people for a cookout at your house? I would go nuts….I never have things like that at my house I am just too picky about my house I guess, especially with carpets and hardwoods, I would go nuts worrying about people and their shoes, haha …and kids being upstairs unsupervised…yeah I am better off just going to other peoples homes, haha ….GOOD JOB for you in not having any chip dip, I know that is one because one) you said you loved it, and two ) I love it too …could eat chips and French onion dip all day long. Feels like it is going to be a long work day….ughhhhh …when is our next holiday? My August bridal party left this morning. The bride has a mini-length gown from David's Bridal & needed me to design her 4 bridesmaids & flower-girls dresses. I did the dresses so they'll be wearable w 3 more styles after the wedding, they're strapless for the wedding; w removeable 2 inch shoulder straps to create a sundress look later & a removeable & reversible solid/print ruching belt for the waist-line. The girls come Thurs. for me to cut their patterns on fabric/their moc dresses before I cut/sew their gowns. The fabrics she chose are sand/chartreuse & sand/coral that I'll order after measurements. Carri, it would be sooo nice if you lived near Susie or me....we could go do lunch or swimming, something to celebrate having 'Onederland' :cheer: numbers. Nice to see you survived the Indy traffic over the weekend & made it to work again. I gotta get back to work now. Hey our temps r dropping -10* this week into the 70's :( from the 80's...comfortable for me, but my garden likes the 80's. |
Yesterday was a busy day getting back to work, but things are flowing again now.
I had a little trouble last night with some BBQ chips and a Pepsi. I didn't go big binge but I did let myself eat those chips for 10 min. I tried to talk myself out of it for a hour but couldn't. I am ok and back on track today. Carri: I didn't let 40 people into my house!! I am picky too! I kept them all in the backyard. I locked the doors to the house. If someone needed to go to the restroom they had to let me know so I could unlock the door and I locked it right back when they left the house. My DH was giving me a rough time about it. My take was that the cookout was from 6:30-9 and most people wouldn't need to "go" as no one traveled far to get there. I only had a few who needed to go into the house and all but one of them were people with kids. I can't believe that you are in the single digits and ONEderland is right around the corner! I'm so happy for you!! and can't wait to celebrate it with you. Dee: The dresses you are designing sound wonderful! How are you feeling? Has some of the stress gotten better? Mandy: How are you doing? I know you were going to be making a move..is that why we haven't heard from you? |
Good afternoon or early evening Ladies ….not much going on here, beautiful weather we are having ( like Susie’s and Dee’s I bet ) …low to mid 70’s and a cool breeze, just perfect …shows us only in the lows 80’s all thru next weekend …my perfect weather.
Have gotten a couple of pieces of bad news recently …first my Grandma ( maternal ) was diagnosed with breast cancer yesterday…she is 82…she took it real well my Mom said…she just looked at the doc and said “damn it” matter of factly and then went on about her business, but that’s my Grandma, she is the rock for all of us , the monarch of the family, the one we all go to with questions and problems…she said she is not sad about it…they are going to take it out next week ( the lump ) and then test her lymph nodes at the same time…so we shall see… Also found out today that my Aunts best friend who is 45 had three heart attacks this last weekend , she is completely blocked and has to have open heart surgery…she was never over weight but has smoked since she was a teen so I suppose that has something to do with it, who knows…so I am praying for her and my Grandma to come thru all right. My Aunt is on a flight right now from CO to come to IN to be with both of them. Not trying to be the Debbie downer, haha, just sharing my news and what is on my mind. Dee – yes it would be nice if we all lived closer because I am gonna celebrate BIG TIME when I hit Onederland !! I did go on and check out Dr Kirby on QVC ( as I love QVC ), he does still look really good…did he ever marry? Lol Susie – You locked them out of the house? Haha, they made me laugh because I would do the same thing. But glad you all had a good time. Thanks, I am so excited to be in the single digits …next goal under 205…then after that 199 !!! Carri :hug: so sorry to hear about your grammy :( & your friend, we'll put them in our prayers tonight. I love your grammy's spirit :cloud9: It's a lot of heartache seeing those we love sick, but God does need more Angels w him :angel: & we have to go if he sends for us. That's what I tell my grandbabes when a baby/child or adult dies & they r sad/confused.
Please Confide or Vent to us here...Whenever :grouphug: you want to, cause we Care & holding stuff inside isn't healthy, we r here for you. Susie :) Thanks for making me laugh w locking your doors; you made me feel normal. We have a camping porta-potty in a changing room (we have a pool-toy storeage shed I decorate like a cute powder-room during the summer, no dripping chlorine swim-suits walking through my home allowed by hot-tubbers/swimmers) & I tell the kids to go potty there too. With my sewing studio & catering business, I'd escort the adults just like you did inside (people r curious by nature). Hmm, I never feel stressed, I'm just a busy girl like you r Susie. I sleep for 5 hr, w so much to b done M-F, w my 2 businesses & I only do volunteer work on 1 day for 3 hrs. I stop work @ 5pm when dh gets home & I'm a wife until he leaves for work @ 6am. Dh does get mad if he wakes up @ night & I'm not in bed & he finds me working in my sew. studio/kitchen @ work/or my office (I'm not a slacker, I do A+ work) Weekends are our playtime unless I have a client that needs me on Sat. :) I just need to fit 14 work hrs into a 10 hr work day :cool: Mandy, Cassie, Liz, Mel, Arabella :wave: Ok I'm watching So You Think You Can Dance right now & dh just brought me a big hunk of homemade German choc. cake w Edy's butter-pecan ice cream :p (I cut the layers in half/6 moist layers & then frost between, I love coconut/pecan frosting) Gotta EAT now. I noticed that Hells Kitchen and Master Chef start back this coming Monday...I am so excited, I love both of those shows and they will be on back to back every Monday, yay !!! Its hard in the Summer to find things to watch since the prime time shows are all repeats now...I also saw that Storage Wars starts back all new next week too, yay again. :D Speaking of tv anybody been watching Hatfield and McCoys on the history channel ? We have dvr'd all of them ( so please no spoilers lol ) and are gonna watch a couple tomorrow night with some pizza ... I had a fun night at the Y last night. I did a strength workout and also did the rowing machine(for the 1st time) for 10 min. Tonight is TOPS night...I have no idea what to expect on the scales. I think the same or down a little or up a little. I have had 3 rootbeers in the past week and that can add up. Carri; I know you are lovin' this weather! I was cold when I stepped outside this morning. I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandma and I think that I would have said the same thing she said! and it made me laugh! I will keep her in my prayers as well as your Aunt's friend and your family. It affects all of you. How was your pasta last night? Oh,..and I saw the post that you were wanting a taco salad soon....watch that girl! ;) Dee: I received your email. Thank you for sending the info. I am trying not to think about that homemade German choc. cake w Edy's butter-pecan ice cream! Do you plan the calories in your daily amount so that you stay in your range and that way you don't gain? I wanted to share something I heard on the radio yesterday. The DJ said that he was reading something about food and when does it "tell" or "show" up on your body and the scales. Most people answered that it would show up in about 24 hours. Well..think again...3 hrs after you eat something the fat from it will show up on your body! Something to think about before eating something other than for fuel for the body. |
Hi Chick's :p I'm on a snack-break. I'm craving more German choc. cake, so I took a break to stop-that feeling by eating some protein (7 almonds w a small banana w ice tea). I'm over my cake craving now :) I follow 3 things Bob Harper/BL always does 1. Eat protein w every meal. 2. Eat something that's natural/un-processed (veggie or fruit) w every meal. 3. Drink 1 full 8 oz. water 'before' eating a meal to trick your belly into feeling full sooner.
Carri TY for reminding me about 'Hells Kitchen and Master Chef', me & dh watch lots of PBS & I enjoy all the cooking shows on CreateTV; it's cute seeing Joe from M.C. cook w his mom Lidia. Me & dh would love to eat @ some the chef's restaraunts. The MC contestants r so creative w their challenges. We have a tv antenna again; no dish/satellite/cable tv anymore; dh feels what's the point of renting to to see 50+ channels, when our (owned/bought $100)/tv-antenna; gets: 3 Fox networks, 3 abc, 4 cbs, 2 Chicago stations, 1 nbc, 5 PBS, history channel, weather channel, 2 foreign channels w sub-titles, 3 Christian tv w family shows from the 1950's-1990's, 3 music video channels 1960-1980,Oldies-Cool TV-TCN, + more the scanner always shows 35-40 clear signal tv-channels. But when I'm away from home I check-out my fav's that we had w our satellite-tv. I'm in the mood to go out dancing & listen to kareoke & try a new drink Sat. night, but dh plans to go fishing w the guys all day :( The local free summer concerts/comedy acts/talent shows begin next week, so relaxing & enjoyable @ the parks, soo many talented & brave people. Dh plays 3 instruments so he enjoys going, & a awesome singing voice too; I have no talent. Susie, I only plan my meals in the winter. Spring/summer/fall has so much fresh foods that I know when I eat silly-bad foods, that my healthy foods will off-set my silly-bad eating (desserts, high carbs). Plus it's warm & busy so it's easy to burn-off the calories/fat just having fun outdoors. Whether I gain or loose a few pounds, my clothes will still fit me, summer is too short to diet & skip food I like. Thank You for the 10 minute plan that you used when you ate your chips, I'll implement that step when I eat silly-bad foods, that leap :o into my mouth, when I'm too tired to walk away ;) from temptation. Dh is grilling him bbq pork chops/potatos/buttermilk biscuits & I'm having a spaghetti salad w grilled, sliced rib-eye in it. He grills 2 nights weekly all summer :) my time-off. Morning everyone ...and as Susie said I am LOVING this weather !!!! :carrot: Gonna be only 64 here today...that seems so crazy for June 1st but then we have had such crazy weather lately what with the spring like Winter that nothing surprises me...and I will certainly take it knowing that 90 degrees and humidity are probably right around the corner.
Dee - OMG that spaghetti salad with the grilled ribeye sounds SO GOOD ...you have to PM me the recipe, sounds like something I would love. You are right about all the fresh foods available right now, the farmers market here opened up last weekend so now I can go there every weekend and get all kinds of fresh veggies and fruits, even farm fresh eggs and chicken. Susie - I do have taco salad alot but I dont use any tortilla chips just put it on a bed of lettuce, plus I measure everything out and it is pretty low calorie, make it with really lean ground turkey...tastes like I am having something so bad for me but its not...try it sometime :) Tonight dh and I are gonna get a papa murphys pizza ( they have low calorie thin crust pizzas that I really like ) and catch up on the DVR, probably the Hatfields and McCoys....sounds like a nice lazy evening to me....and then tomorrow morning we will get up and mulch all the beds and put in our flowers since it will be nice and cool ...Carri doesn't like to sweat...haha Have a great weekend all !!!! I was very disappointed at TOPS last night as I had a 1 lb gain. :mad:
I will say that maybe half of it was due to soda that I had last week (I had 3 total). Soda always puts weight on me but I thought I was moving enough to get it off. Also the antibodic always seems to make me gain weight. I heard Bob say something about that one time on the BL. There was a contest he was worried about because they were on a antibodic and he thought they might be up that week. Oh well...moving on...NO soda for me this week. That pound and then some as to come off so I can have a least a 5 lb loss this month (5lbs is my goal to hit every month..if it ends up being more than YEAH!) Carri: We DVR'd the Hatfields and McCoys too and plan on watching them this weekend. I don't know if you noticed on my FB page but "McCoy" is my maiden name and I am from THAT clan of McCoy's. We have traced it back to my great-great grandpa. :dizzy: Dee: I wish I could go with you to go out dancing & listen to kareoke & try a new drink Sat. night! That all sounds like my type of thing to do. I sing a bit and have won some kareoke contests before. ;) We have quite a few local free shows in our town too and they start June 22 and we try to go. Also we sometimes drive up the The Greene which is about 20 min from us on Friday and Saturday nights and listen to the free music there on the square. It's just a fun way to spend a evening. I like your craving killer trick and will be using it for cravings and for every day eating. Last night at TOPS we had a round robin where everyone brought in a good for you "tibit". One lady found some information that those of us who are not in a active daily job or one that we are on our feet alot should get up at least a couple times a hour and stand for 60 seconds (if not more). Doing so helps to burn more calories and also helps to lower chances of colon cancer and other cancers. She found the information in Reader's Digest and it said that research shows that those who stand more during the day keep their weight off easier and have lower cancer rates. I know I'm at my desk for hours without getting up so I'm going to make this a goal if June to out a good habit into my daily life..another with the eating plan that you state below. Ok..got to get back to work..and i think I will walk down to the break room and get a nice glass of cold water..... See you all this weekend...I'll be around. |
2 of my little babes r here this weekend....They're watching Christmas dvd's today :) it's rained for 2 days now....Everything is bright green & pretty & the air smells so fresh & pretty.....

I had 2 yr of high school glee club (2nd soprano) & never sang lead, or in church choir I've never done a solo, I'm shy, just a harmony girl. I'd Luv hearing you sing a duet w my dh, you both have 'powerful voices' :cool: dh tries to get me to sing kareoke but I'm shy & scared of messing-up & getting laughed at. Did your chef leave you & dh yet? It's gotta be lonely without her. Are you related to Neal McCoy the country singer ;) Carri, here's the spaghetti salad recipe, just add whatever protein you like to it, the cheese is protein but when I add steak to it, I'm eating it as a complete meal. Spaghetti Salad: cooked spaghetti, drained & cold (1# uncooked makes about 8 servings, I Luv it & so I cook 1/2# for myself to eat for a few meals & snacks over 2 days, it's low-fat/low-sodium/low-cal & guilt-free) black olives chopped tomatos or grape tomatos green peppers, or your fav chopped or sliced mild red onions any veggies that taste yummy, more veggies = healthy, healthy mozzarella cheese 8 oz. or (4 oz. with 1/2# spaghetti) Italian fat-free or low-sodium dressing, or Zesty Italian dressing pepperoni, hard salami, chicken breast or sliced grilled steak (optional) Toss together & chill if desired before eating & enjoy! I like to have cold pasta salads ready to eat to fill my carb-needs for energy during the hot weather months. Otherwise my energy is gone & I'll just want to b inside w the AC on & I'll feel sluggish. Sooo I eat what my body needs to give me energy & I always feel good all summer :broc: It's also a fav pasta salad of my customers :) Weekend question to SPILL: What r your 7 fav paid ticket music concerts you've gone to, when they gave 110% of their talent to the audience. Hey ladies. I'm here, this week has been CRAZY. dropped the water weight, it was mainly TOM but have been 239.6 for the last 4 days GRR. I want the scale to moooovveee. Also I think my BF is hitting a plateau. He got down to 229 but then ordered pizza which sent us both o a tailspin and has been at 230 or above since and not gone down. So trying to figure out why he isn't moving. He's been losing steadily for 45 lbs so I am wondering if he has just hit a plateau. There are so many things it could be.
Went to the starlight parade last night and it definitely confirmed that I think I am slightly lactose intolerant. Had frozen yogurt and about 2 hrs later I felt kinda sick while watching the parade...which COULD have been a number of things but I find it odd that usually everytime I have straight dairy (besides a half cup of greek yogurt) or have too much dairy I get a little sick :\ Yesterday was a long day. BF decided it was the first day he was going to go to the gym then I had my last day of training for our local crisis lines. After that we walked around the mall in PDX for a bit and had some dinner and frozen yogurt before the parade. Woke up at 5:30 am and got home at 11. By the end of it my feet were KILLIN me .I went straight to bed when we got home but didn't get out of bed til laround 9:20 ish this morning LOL I was exhausted. My feet were KILLING me too, my old tennis I worked out in broke and the ones I have aren't the best :\ Anyway. Off to relax a bit before wedo todays errands! |

This weekend was LONG for me. I had so much to do around the house and so many places to be. I just put the last load of laundry in and I'm exhausted and tomorrow is Monday. *sigh*. I'm going to get bed early tonight. I know that I'm tired because my throat has the raw feeling. I had mono about 20 years ago and when I get overtired my throat gets this raw feeling. That tells me I have over done it. Dreamer: I have a tad of lactose intolerence as well. The greek yogurt doesn't bother me but then again I eat it with a fiber bar. I hope you are able to get better shoes soon...when my feet hurt everything hurts! Dee: Yes, our chef is gone..or at least done cooking. She is here until July but I gave her the month off with pay for June so that she could finish up school and get ready to leave for Mexcio without the stress of cooking as well. I will miss her for so many reasons. Our meals were amazing. I always say we "dined" with her cooking for us..it was much more than eating. Also she is a family friend and I will miss her for the year she is gone. I wrote your Spaghetti Salad down and put it in my receipie book. That is a good thing to have when DH grills hamburgers and I need something to eat! and he can eat it with the hamburgers. Now on to the next 30 :D Dee - thanks for the recipe, it does sound good, and I LOVE pasta ...although with my diabetes I do have to watch my intake of it, I normally eat a low carb kind I get at Kroger or a high fiber kind. Dreamer - I am VERY lactose intolerant, and have been since birth...but I have never gotten a sick feeling from it....and frozen yogurt normally doesn't do it to me...I can't drink any milk, or have ice cream, and sour cream kills me...the symptoms are normally severe diareah, stomach cramping, and gas...and it's bad....doesn't sound like that is what you have. And be thankful, after dealing with this my whole life I wouldn't wish it on anybody...I miss my milk :( Susie - not good when you are starting off from the weekend already tired, haha ...hope you got some good rest last night .... Um concerts huh, I haven't been to too many, don't think I have even been to seven of them...my dh normally goes to them, has been to hundreds, but I normally stay home, haha .....my first concert was back in the 90's and it was the Cranberries, remember them? THey were very popular back then...my most recent one was The Black Keys, which was great ...I have been to quite a few shows of our local bands though ....I am jealous of Dee as I would LOVE to go to a Madonna concert. Morning Girls …so yesterday I get off at noon ( dh was off too ) and I decide that I REALLY have a taste for McDonalds …I haven’t eaten out like that in a LONG time and I thought I would treat myself …I got the double cheeseburger meal ( large ) with Coke….my stomach and body were NOT happy with me after …I had to stay pretty close to my bathroom the rest of the day ( TMI right ?? ) …I guess since I never have anything fried or that greasy ( or soda for that matter ) anymore, my body was just like “excuse me? We don’t eat like this !” hahaha
And then for round two, I went to bed and had HORRIBLE heart burn all night, which I never have ….guess I should also say I had homemade ( well homemade from the box haha ) upside down pineapple cake ( go ahead and say “mmmmmm” in your head cause it was good ) …so I think all that sugar probably caused the heart burn fiasco …so I didn’t sleep well and I feel majorly bloated today….needless to say I am tired and somewhat cranky…it tasted so good going down but not so good when I was burping up later Now on to a nice clean day, starting fresh …what I will give myself a pat on the back for is that normally the old me would turn that one day in to several days or a week of eating like crap, but since I have started this back in Feb I have had a different mindset and am completely able to have the one day or meal and go right back on the next day, so NSV for me And needless to say I won’t be stepping on the scale until Sat or Sunday …if I see weight bloat from this ( which surely I will due to all the sodium and fat ), it will just depress me …best to just stay away knowing it will be gone in a few days. So enough about me, feel like I am babbling this morning….how are the rest of you? Anyone watch Hells Kitchen and Master Chef season premiere’s last night? They were good, apparently they come on again tonight, like part two, but not sure, gonna have to check the guide. Have a great day all. Carri |
