Hello Everyone,

Beautiful day out today. I hear we might get some storms later; just hope they come after my workout partner and I do our walk tonight.

I was 56 calories under my range yesterday. :) I don't want to be to far under my range but it is nice to bank those calories for the times I might go over. I know they do that (or used to) with points on WW. The important thing right now is that I am AWARE of what is going into my body..not sticking my head in the sand anymore!

Dee: I know you weren't suggesting that I needed to get surgery. I was just stating that sometimes for some people its a good choice and sometimes it is not.

I haven't seen The Hunger Games. For me it will probably be a rental but I am starting to get curious about the books. Have you read them?

How's it going with WW?

Mandy: I echo what Dee and Carri have said. We would miss you nut you are always welcome here and we will always support you. Now, may I say...please don't go!!

Carri: I hope we don't get hail! Thanks for asking about my pedicure. It went well and I went a little wild! My toes are a lime green and they did flowers on my big toes. Everyone keeps telling me how cute they look (because of course I wore sandles today! ) ;) You are right that the polish lasts long with the "professional" pedicures.

Keep up the good work with your weight-loss...you are inspiring me!

konfyoozed 04-03-2012 02:37 PM

thank you guys for your kind words :) you all have never made me feel like i was crazy for starting to think about the math and science of calories and metabolism. i'm just starting to get twitchy whenever i see somebody post that they had "omg i went over and ate 1600 calories today, so glad i burned 800 at the gym!" and i think "do you realize that a net 2000 calorie diet is what's healthy for the lightly active adult?" it's not natural for your body to survive on 800 calories. and that's why so many people plateau.

and the advice of "lower your calories a little more" just makes me want to cringe! :( i've been eating 2500+ for 3 days now, and i have not gained anything! nothing! and i'm PMSing! (i picked a really good time to start a higher calorie plan didn't i? lol)

i didn't get to 300 pounds by eating 2600 healthy calories a day and exercising 3x-5x per week... i got there by eating 3000+ of junk and not exercising at all. and it wasn't a rapid gain either. it was slow and steady after the freshman 15 (which in my case was the freshman 25). i was around 225 when i graduated high school. eating junk every day. i gained 25 my first year out of high school cause i ate the same, and didn't have all my extra curriculars anymore. then it took me at least 5 years, probably more, to pack on the extra 50 to get me to 300. that's 10 pounds a year or less. that's less than a pound a month eating a ton of junk and not exercising!

eating healthier, and exercising, should easily cause me to lose weight once my metabolism recovers from all the jerking around. starve myself to lose weight, give up and binge an gain faster, then starve myself to lose again, repeat ad nauseum. i have more energy, i'm in a better mood, and i'm sleeping better now! plus i'm never hungry anymore. how is this a bad thing?! sigh.

Hi Everyone,

I had a great time walking with my friend last night. We walked the local college campus and there was a lot ot "see". ;) lol

I walk on Tuesday's with this friend of mine, the other days we do our workout seperately due to schedules. She's also my 5k walk buddy.

So, we were planning our workouts a bit and we decided that on a 4 week rotation the first week we will walk outside from a starting point to and ending point..if it takes us 45 min, that is what it takes, if it takes 30 that is what it takes. the 2nd week will be 45 min on the treadmill following the "hill" program. the 3rd week, is a 45 min walk focusing on speed, the 4th week is to do an actual 5k route. We know the one that is mapped out every year for the Turkey Trot in November in our town and there we will be working on lowering or time and assess how our training is going.

We are looking for a 5k walk/race to do in June or July.

Carri: Let me know when you watch BL--it was Makeover week!

Mandy: What you are doing is absolutely correct for you and really I think for many others! Your story and mine are very similar.
Stay steady the course!

I am using my Lose It app to track my calories for day and I have a goal weight set in it, and it tells me how many calories I can have a day (and when I exericse I get some of those back if I'm close or over) to loose an average of 2 lbs a week.

Yesterday I was under by 399. At first I was under by 56 but then added the workout and so that gave me back 343 calories.

Have a great day everyone!

you know what's delicious? vanilla greek yogurt with cinnamon, shredded apple, and a bit of granola.

Satine 04-05-2012 10:22 AM

Good morning all ....yesterday was a hard one, I was having one of those days where no matter what I ate I was still hungry all day ...don't know if my body was adjusting or what ...it was tough to get thru but I stayed the course

Susie - yes I did watch it last night and I gotta say they looked GREAT ...I loved Conda's hair especially, and Chris OMG< she looked SO much younger without that grey hair ....great episode ...I also use the Lose It app faithfully and I know that is what has helped me lose my steady two pounds each week...so keep with it, it will work !!!

Mandy - that does sound good ...I used to eat a lot of the Chobani brand greek yogurt, they have a ton of great flavors

Hi Dee, Liz, Mel, and Auntie G !!!!!

Tomorrow is the last weigh in of the work contest and to announce the winner, don't plan on winning since the only guy in the contest is probably gonna beat me, but oh well, I gotta remember I am doing this for me and not any contest.

have a great day all

attempting eggplant parmesan for dinner tonight. first time with a meatless meal. wish me luck :D

foucault 04-05-2012 08:05 PM

Hi, gals! I used to post on the forums here once upon a time when I had lost 60 pounds and reached ONEderland. Unfortunately, I got off track and gained all of that back. Yuck. So, here I am again...determined to get this weight off and keep it off.

Is there room for one more?

konfyoozed 04-06-2012 12:17 AM

hello foucault :) congrats for getting back on the horse!

well ladies, the eggplant parmesan was mostly a success... i just left it in the oven a smidge too long and the cheese got a little brown. but hubby and i like crispy cheese, so it worked out well :D

today's cals eaten: 2696
todays exercise: 840
NET calories: 1856

i'm not supposed to NET below 2000... and after my recovery smoothie and some string cheese i'm stuffed! ah well.

MyChoice2bfit 04-06-2012 10:01 AM

Happy to report a loss at the scales last night at TOPS: a 2.25 lb loss!

Recording those calories and staying in my range and doing consistant daily exercise seems to be the key for me. :)

How's everyone doing? We are off work today for Good Friday. I also took yesterday off work as a personal day and so did DH. We changed our closets over to Spring/Summer clothes (and now it is FREEZING here!). It feels good to have that done though and it lets me know what I need to buy for the season.

Today we are doing some housework and then some friends of ours are in from Missiouri and we are going to Terry's Turf Club tonight. This place was featured once on Diners, Driveins and Dives. Our friends have never been there and they want to check it out. It will be a fun time and I have planned for the calories that I will eat there.

Carri: I would love to hear that you won that work contest but like you said, if you don't, this is not really about a contest. It's about you being healthy and happy with you.

Mandy: I'm a vegetarian and I love eggplant fixed so many ways. Good for you for trying something new!

Foucalt: Welcome back and yes there is room for you! Looking forward to getting to know you through your posts.

Have a great day everyone; I must get busy with some housework.

Satine 04-06-2012 10:20 AM

Morning everyone, well I have good news and bad news...first bad news: I didn't win the work challenge, the guy lost 6.6% and I lost 6.0% ...but the good news is that there was a 2nd part to the challenge, if anyone could lose more actual pounds then him then he would pay them $5 per pound ...so I did end up making 60.00 since I lost 14 pds during the 7 week challenge and he only lost 12 ...so hey I will take it !!!! :carrot:

Susie - GREAT JOB on the loss ...I am telling you that Lose It app works...that is how I am steadily losing 2 pds a week ...keep up the good work !! We are having really cool weather here too ...I kind of like it...I thought it was getting too warm too quick, haha ...

Mandy - the eggplant parm sounds good, I am going to incorporate a layer of eggplant in my lasagna next time I make it....saw that on Dr Oz ...

Everyone have a great day !!

I will pop on over weekend and post my weigh in results

Have a Happy Easter !!! :bunny2::egg::easter2::easter:

Carri

miniDoodles 04-06-2012 10:40 PM

Susie :smug: I'm down 1 1/2# in 2 weeks, it seems so little but I'm on the lowest pts WW has because of losing less than 10# to my goal. A heavier person needs more calories, so that person has more food pts to eat. I am enjoying the structure. :congrat: on your 2.25 lb loss. You inspired me to start doing 5K walks. My hamstring is almost healed & I entered 1 for April & 1 for May & I'm excitedps:Cinco de Mayo is Saturday, May 5, 2012..:dancer:

Luv to ya'll, Have a safe weekend & enjoy your Chocolate bunnie ears :bunny: Dee

Morning Girls - just a quick pop in with my weigh in results. Down another 2 pds to 218 so now I am officially down 20 pds since I started in early Feb and I am really happy about it

Have a great Easter weekend

See ya

konfyoozed 04-08-2012 01:36 PM

thanks dee! i had so much fun doing them! i love hard boiled eggs too, so this gives me an excuse to color them... it's nice to know the difference in the fridge. i can get 2 dozen eggs and a pack of koolaid every week, always have colorful eggs in the fridge (plus a healthy snack at the ready!)

Satine 04-09-2012 10:27 AM

Morning All, hope you all had a great Easter ...we didnt do anything, we got out and went to Panera Bread for lunch and did a little shopping but other than that not a whole lot happened.

Mandy - those eggs are beauts !!! I like the idea of the kool aid a lot better because I hate the smell of vinegar.

My weekends just seem to fly by and the work week just stalls. hmmmph :)

Cant wait till the end of this month when I get a three day weekend ...might have to make it a four day weekend actually ...but we will see

Have a great day everyone !!

not feeling well today. bleh. but, below is a bit of my blog post that i wrote today... i want you all to know that i have not eaten below 2300 calories any day this week. :)

Start Measurements:
Weight: 272
Neck: 16
Bust: 51
Waist: 45
Belly button: 49.5
Hips: 54
R. Bicep: 15.5
R. Thigh: 29
R. Calf: 18.5

Week 1 Results:
Weight: ? <- not gonna weigh until May 1
Neck: 16
Bust: 50.5 (-0.5)
Waist: 44 (-1.0)
Belly button: 49 (-0.5)
Hips: 53 (-1.0)
R. Bicep: 16.5 (+1.0)
R. Thigh: 28 (-1.0)
R. Calf: 18.5 (0)

Overall 3 inches gone! :)

So, over the last week I lost more inches than I did in ALL OF MARCH (one inch). Interesting. Even if I measured at a different spot (like on my thigh) I would have had to move the tape much higher up into jiggly thigh region (almost to my groin area) to get the 29 again, and nowhere around my hips measured 54, so I know something's moving!

Satine 04-10-2012 09:18 AM

Morning everyone…I am so tired today, didn’t sleep well last night …had some heart burn which I rarely have, but I made the poor choice of eating peanut butter before bed and that usually always does it…my own fault, haha …oh well just means I will sleep like a baby tonight

Mandy – great job on the inches lost…I really wish I would have taken my measurements before I lost this 20 pds so I could see how much is gone…I know there is a big amount from my stomach, but would like to know the inches …oh well, maybe I start taking them now…I was entering your info ( had to guess on your height, put 5’8, you look tall in your pic haha ) on this weight loss calculater thing online and it shows that at your size you would lose at 2300 pds…said weight loss at 2340 cals per day…so looks like you are spot on, especially with all your exercise ….I think you are doing a great job on just doing what works for you …starving yourself is no way to live…

Hi Susie and Dee – hope you both are having a great start to the new week.

The weather was only 34 degrees this morning, real chilly start …gonna be in the 60’s next few days and in the low 70’s over the weekend, that should be nice.

I am so excited to be firmly in the 2 teens now….knowing that 9 pds from now I will be in the single digit two’s and then it is the FINAL COUNT DOWN to Onederland !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait !!!!

Well my stomach is starting to growl at me so I better go and make my breakfast and get back to work

Have a great day all !!

Carri

i am tall. i'm 5'9 ;)

i usually eat around 2500-2600 every day, a big chunk coming from protein shakes, getting me to nearly 200g protein every day, and according to my HRM i burn several hundred calories in the gym multiple times a week. so i am creating some deficit. this week i may have to eat lighter cause it's TOM and i'm not going to be as active, cramps kick my butt and make me not want to do anything. currently squinting at the monitor because of the beginnings of a migraine. but for some reason my maxalt packs are in here.

hope you all have a good day. :)

MyChoice2bfit 04-10-2012 12:39 PM

Hi Ladies!

Things got a little crazy busy over the weekend and then back to work yesterday but I'm here and doing well.

I have to admit that I didn't use my Lose It App on Sunday but I'm back to it now and staying in my range.

We had friends in over the holiday that I hadn't seen since Thanksgiving and they said, "you have lost some weight" which I have since they saw me last, about 10 lbs; it feels good to know that it is noticed.

Oh and a funny thing happend at church on Sunday. We had a singing group in and the bass singer was a very nice looking single man. I guess I must have looked pretty in my new Easter dress because our pastor's wife told me that when he saw me, he said "who is that and is she married?!" I smiled the whole day and DH held my hand a lot more! ;)

Carri: Congratulations for losing 6% of your body weight AND for beating that guy out in the pounds lost and getting $60! You are doing great...just keep it going! We will be here cheering you on.

Dee: You did some great bargin hunting and I LOVE the idea of the swimsuit cover up..that is going to be so cute!
Also happy to hear that WW is helping those scales move for you.
As for the 5k walks, good for you! I hope you can find someone to walk it with you. It's very helpful to have a friend with you. My friend and I check our pace at the mile markers that are provided so we know how we are doing and we help each other keep moving. Right after 2 miles I always get to where I want to slow up and she keeps me going. In the beginning she needs help to get the speed up.

Tonight we will be on the treadmills doing the "hill" program setting so that we can use that training in our 5k's. You never know when those hills are going to be there and if we train for them, that is going to help our time.

Mandy: Those eggs are beautiful and I never thought to use koolaid. I will do that in the future and like someone said, it's a nice way to know the boiled eggs from the other eggs. I eat a boiled egg almost every morning as a part of my breakfast.

Taking your measurements is a very good idea because not all losses show on the scale. It looks like your eating plan with more calories, which are GOOD calories, is working for you. Keep it up.

Focult: how are you doing?

Liz, Arabella, Auntie G, Mel: Are you guys lurking out there?

miniDoodles 04-10-2012 02:28 PM

46* right now, high 60*s this weekend so I can ride my bike again :bike2:

Susie  so glad that you r okay & had a wonderful visit w your friends over Easter. My dh said he'd do my 1st 5K w me because a baseball ticket is included w the registration $25 fee :smug: I googled 5K walk/run & found lots of 5K's for every state.

Mandy & Carrie all I can say is :woohoo: WOW on the progress both of you have made....I hope both of your dh & your mom's r cheering you on every time you all talk, they gotta b very proud of you :cheer2: Time for you 2 chicks to shrink your clothes smaller & move your buttons/elastic before they fall off your little butts :o now.

Carrie, sorry about you not sleeping last night, if I eat near bedtime I have dum dreams that night. Yesterday I was walking & got a earache from the wind & new pollen & I slept cozy w a warm rice pack on my ear & 1 on my neck. (uncooked rice in a clean sock, heated in the microwave/spray a drop of fragrance on 1 side of the sock) my dh got hungry smelling the rice until I put a drop of perfume on it.

Mandy have you ever tried laying a heat pack on your back or tummy? Ask your friends what helps them, instead of suffering. Is your dh studying to b a pastor or did he graduate already, what church  Congrat's, a pastor's wife has a busy life also.

Girls, Who r your fav guy & girl celeb on DWTS to win the ball? I'm not sure yet.

Cassie & Mel & Liz :comp: stop back ASAP & say 'hi', I hope you all r well.

Satine 04-10-2012 04:19 PM

Mandy that is GREAT that you get all that protein ...I am a protein junky but I don't get nearly enough, I need to eat a lot more ....

konfyoozed 04-10-2012 06:17 PM

dee - he is in his 2nd year right now... starting first sunday in august he will be an assitant pastor at Our Saviour's Lutheran in college station texas, we'll be there for the year, then he'll come back and do his senior year in seminary, at the end of which he'll be ordained. :)

Satine 04-11-2012 10:00 AM

Morning Girls !! :sunny: Hope you all are having a great morning so far. I am having a pretty good one. Just finished my breakfast, a high fiber english muffin with peanut butter ...now looking forward to lunch, haha ...I brought a turkey sandwhich with swiss and a side of cottage cheese...love my cottage cheese :T

Anyone watch Biggest Loser last night ? It was an okay episode ...could have done without all the First Lady stuff at the beginning ...wanted it to be more about the show ...but anyway ...so I dont "spoil" it for anyone who hasn't watched it yet I will only say that I was glad this person went home...before you know it the season will be over...but I know it comes back in Sept every year ...sadly, before you know it September will be here already...haha...time flies huh ?

Dee - thanks, I am really happy about the weightloss and am sure I can get down to my goal weight this year, I am going to pull a Liz !!!! :jig: I did sleep A LOT better last night so I am not feeling so tired today...and no heart burn last night

Hi Susie and Mandy

Hi to Liz, Mel, Arabella and Auntie G ...miss ya

Okay, well getting back to work ...speaking of work, they started another weight loss challenge here but this time a company wide one, not a little one where only one person can win ...there will be three winners and you only have to lose 5-10 pds in 12 weeks, which I know I can do so I signed up for it...heck I am going to be losing anyhow so might as well have a chance and winning some money for it, haha ...mama needs money to pay the IRS !!! :smoking:

Okay see ya later

morning everyone!!

i'm on a tear, about to go blog about how healthy fats are HEALTHY and necessary... people who only eat 1000 calories and claim that's "all they need" while running a couple miles a day make me want to cry. :( some fats are bad, yes, but some are good. and necessary! avocado. nuts. fish. GOOD FATS. and tasty fats. eat some, they will do a body good! :D

miniDoodles 04-11-2012 01:29 PM

 Mandy we're on the same page about the 'yummy healthy fats' :hungry:
Have a :trampo: week, Dee

SMSDREAMER2007 04-11-2012 03:02 PM

Hey all,
Could have sworn I posted and update last friday in here, Guess not. We got the apartment and I have not been able to rest since! Soooo much to do, I'm lucky if I find time to sleep! (ok, I do have sleep time but it feels like I dont) *sings this is the week that never ends to the tutne of this is the song that never ends* Have not been good calorie wise or sodium wise BUT i knew that was going to happen and I am OK with that. Gained 4 lbs overnight on thurs because of stess and water retention from a huge fight. Havent looked to see if ive lost it yet. Kind of scared to get on the scale :\ I'm honestly resolved to not worry about it too much this week and then just work off whatever I gained next week when I can cook and will actually have more control of what I eat. There is literally NO time to cook this week. I am not home for more than 20 mins unless I am sleeping cause I'm out buying stuff for the apt or signing paperwork/at class. Anyway keep up the good work ya'll gotta get ready for class! Huggssss!

MyChoice2bfit 04-11-2012 06:57 PM

I have no energy today. I think it might be the weather.
Any one else feeling draggy?

Dreamer: Get on those scales and see where that 4 lbs are..and if they are still there get a plan to get them off..don't let them hang around.
I am like you, I get busy and those lbs sneak in on me..we have to fight them off!

Glad to hear you got the apartment.

Carri: I watched the Biggest Loser as well. I think it's going to get interesting from here on out. Those left are hard core I think.

Dee: I'm watching Dancing with the Stars and right now I just love watching everyone dance...I will say the "eye candy" is great this season!

Mandy: I really need to work on the protein. Would you mind sharing how you get that much protein in?

konfyoozed 04-11-2012 07:27 PM

today's dinner had 75g of protein... i had 2 tilapia filets (they are packed with protein!) and 3oz of small shrimp in garlic/parm butter as a topper (shrimp are also packed with protein and healthy fats!) there was a little more protein in the corn, parm, and salad i had, but not much.

breakfast had 25g protein... 2.5 eggs, with some cheese, ham, green pepper, and onion... a banana and some 100% fruit juice.

lunch was pork bbq on a low carb/high fiber tortilla (12g fiber!)... i had 47g protein in my lunch because i had 6oz of pork + 1/4c mozz cheese on the wrap.

i also had a protein shake with skim milk and 1 scoop protein powder that had 34g protein.

later i will have a shake after dinner that will be 2c skim milk (16g protein) 2 scoops protein powder (52g protein), a banana (for the potassium), and 1tbsp of peanut butter, that has 4g protein, so it will have 74g of protein there. (but it's also 650 calories, so like an extra meal!)

edit: that puts me at 257g protein today... and almost 3000 calories. but i'll be working out hard at the gym tonight, so i plan on using it up!

i get my protein from a lot of meat and dairy. i'm lucky that i'm not lactose intolerant!

Satine 04-12-2012 10:23 AM

Morning Girls ….

Susie – did you see the previews for next week’s biggest loser? That is the one where all the contestants walked out on the show…did you hear about that about a month or two ago? It was all over the news when it happened, but I guess on next weeks episode we get to see how it played out.
Should be interesting ….

Dee – Just thinking about a Cinco de Mayo party makes my mouth water…I am glad that it is on a Saturday so I can plan a little get together too…I wanna try those skinny margheritas you were talking about a while ago …and I can make fresh salsa ….oh yeah this is gonna be good

Mandy – I would like to get more protein in by way or protein shake but I can never find one I like or one that doesn’t have artificial sweetner in it …since I am lactose intolerant I was gonna mix it with my Almond Milk…maybe I will go to GNC and see what they have …

Not much going on here …I do have to confess that I had a binge night on Tuesday …it was bad…talking about going through McDonalds and getting a large Double Cheeseburgar meal ( comes with large coke and large fries ) with a side of a McChicken sandwich…came home and ate all that in minutes and went on to buttered popcorn, sour cream and cheddar Ruffles, Mountain Dew, chocolate chips, etc ….it was all in my stomach in a matter of about 15-20 mins and it was AWFUL, I was so full that it was clear up in my throat ….and it hurt …I guess it just teaches me that even though I am doing really well I still don’t have a handle on this completely and need to be on my guard …I have put it behind me and have moved on…because yesterday was a new day and I made it a good one.

Everybody have a good day.

Carri

konfyoozed 04-12-2012 02:56 PM

carri - i use a whey protein which has ill effects on those who are lactose intolerant. my vegan friend uses a hemp protein powder and says it's good, and less processed than soy powders.

last night at the gym was great :D 717 calories burned, and i kicked major butt on the elliptical, even if it was only for 30 mins, i did half of it at the highest incline with a pretty decent resistance (12 out of 15 on this machine)... felt like i was pushing through quick sand at first, but i kept my pace above 100 on that, and on the lower kept my pace to 150 (strides per minute)... then i went over to the weights side (i'm backwards, but i like to finish with weights) and I MANAGED TO BICEP CURL 25LB WEIGHTS :D then i made my hubby feel like a wimp cause i either did the same or higher weights on the other exercises *flex* i felt buff.

hope you guys have a great day!

miniDoodles 04-12-2012 03:19 PM

Girls fill me in on the BL drama, cause NBC signal doesn't always come in & I have to go to their website to get updates.

Cassie, don't let classes & life & stress screw-up your metabolism, we want ya to b healthy. Take time for a bubble-bath, go swimming or whatever it takes to chill-out :cloud9: ask your boyfriend to join you.

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend, Dee :dust:[/COLOR]

MyChoice2bfit 04-13-2012 09:04 AM

My weigh-in didn't go well. I was up major! 3 lbs! It wasn't food but rather soda. While I was within my calorie range (right at the limit) even with the soda counted, it ALWAYS makes me gain.

I am usually a water drinker, but last week I kept letting a coke or two sneak in here and there. I'm lucky all I had was a gain and that it didn't flare up my IC! I was pretty made at myself last night, but today is a new day and I have 7 days to get that 3 lbs off. I'm not changing my ticker but if it isn't all gone next week then I will. BUT, I plan on taking it off and more..even if it is just 1/2 more!

Dee: Sorry to see that you had a gain too..as well as your chapter. Our chapter was in the red last night too. I did the proram last night and it was about changing your bad habits to good ones.

I approached it from the sentence in the pledge that says : I am an intellgient person, I will control my emotions and not let my emotions control me.

I started there because all the research I did about habits is that they come from our subconscious which holds our emotions as well. So, to change a bad habit is to change it in our subconscious and we do that by swapping out bad habits for new good habits. In doing so, we control our emotions..and that gives us back the power.

When i was watcing the BL on Tuesday, and Chris got a call from her husband that effected her emtionally she let those emotions control her by binging. That is a habit she has when she feels overwhelmed and out of control. She hasn't yet exchanged that habit for a good one; like maybe going for a walk instead or calling a friend to talk it through.

Carri/Dee: As for the drama on the BL show that will be the topic of next weeks show it is going to be interesting. I really didn't know what was going on (I dont' get to watch the news much and I don't look at the webpages when they come up; I just go to the sites on my computer that I want to be one) so I googled it and it looks like the show was going to bring back elminated contestants and give them a shot at the big prize. I would say that stirred up a lot of things.

Carri: Glad you kept the binge to one day and one meal...and that you moved on. I'm excited for you to be doing another contest at work. I think this one will get you to ONEDERLand. :cheer2::cheer3: TEAM Carri!

Mandy: You are doing great and I can tell it makes you feel great and THAT will get you to your goal.

I am a Vegitarian, but I do eat eggs, so I have a lot of trouble getting my protein in. I'm always looking for ways to do it.

Ok ladies...I must get some work done. Have a GREAT Friday!

susie - my best friend is vegan, with a slight nut allergy, and she has a major issue with proteins too. i think she gets a lot of hers from beans. i know she eats a lot of hummus. i'll talk to her about her protein sources, and get back to you :)

Susie ask 'your chef' about getting more protein.

Here is one of my fav Hummus recipes:
Sweet Pea Hummus:
Ingredients:
1 cup sweet peas, cooked in boiling lightly salted water for 2 minutes then strain & cool on a baking tray in the frig. (fresh or frozen taste best)
1 garlic clove
1/2 avocado
8 fresh mint leaves
juice from 1 lemon
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
In a food processor puree everything together and season to taste with salt and fresh ground black pepper.

Use as a dip, spread on a main dish, or w pasta, or as a spread etc. Use it like you also use pesto. I always rinse my canned veggies to lower their sodium & chemical content.

I gotta go now,

Yesterday was a very rainy and stormy day here in Ohio. After I got my walk in yesterday morning, the rain started.

It was nice though..it was relaxing and I got a lot done in the house. My office is FINALLY organzed once again, the groceries for the week are bought and the house is clean.

This morning is church and I have a couple of projects to work on this afternoon--I want to get my password list all in one place on a spreadsheet. I have this folder with all of them in it, writte on seperate pieces of paper and it's just a mess, so I will use Excel to organize.

I also want to download some new workout music for my ipod and I have a new book to start reading. I bet I take a nap in there somewhere and tonight I will take a walk.

I was within my calorie range yesterday (back to putting it in my Lose It app) I was within the middle of the range.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and I hope someone posts soon!

Just a quick pop in. Weigh in Only showed me down one pound this week to 217 so I am not real happy about that. However I did have a lot of sodium in both my lunch and dinner so I might see the 216 tomorrow morning. Have a great Sunday.

hey ladies :) we are home from a weekend away.

because we were out with a bunch of guys, food came from the following sources: zaxbys, local catering (baked ziti), chick fil a, a local diner, chinese take out, mc donalds, and wendys. OY.

my stomach is really not happy with the grease, and the rest of me is not happy with the sodium. but other than the food, the weekend was great and the weather was gorgeous, and i'm sun-burnt from being outside all day yesterday. back to healthy stuff tomorrow... i vaguely resemble (and feel like) a ripe, plump tomato.
