Good Morning , hope you all had a great OP weekend ...I did ....:D
Weekends just go by WAY too fast when you work a M-F job and look forward to them so much, haha Anybody do anything fun? We went to our friends daughters art exhibit and then out to a tapas bar for a late dinner on Saturday...Sunday we just basically hung around the house and acted silly ....caught up on DVR shows and just relaxed...it was nice and warm yesterday but the wind was insane, we still have a wind warning in the area ...about blows you over... Also ( and Susie can relate to this with the Lose It app ), I finally updated my Lose It app with my real weight and lost 59 cals per day ….so this is gonna be a harder week for me …but I bet I see a better loss at this week end. Should have been updating it weekly and then it wouldn’t have been so drastic ….oh well I guess

hubby and i went to an ultimate frisbee tournament in richmond, va. the weekend was fantastic in all ways except for food lol. well, food and sunburn. :)

Good morning girls…well I got thru yesterday’s calorie drop first day …I really think I needed it, think my body has gotten used to the certain amount I was having daily for the last couple of months …I am starting to realize that I need to incorporate better food choices in my daily meals…for example I would normally have a sandwich and baked chips for lunch ( sometimes cottage cheese ) and today I brought carrots to go along with my sandwich instead of the chips…dinners I usually do pretty well, we pretty much always have a lean meat and a veggie …I have a pressure cooker ( new modern type ones I bought off of qvc ) and make pork chops in it, turned out pretty well …and then we had asparagus with it…for my evening snack I had two halves of deviled eggs that dh made ( he follows lower carb plan too ), as I don’t like to have carbs in the evening, too hard to work off while I sleep, haha …tonight I think we are having some lean beef with broccoli and cauliflower steamed …sounds down right exciting huh?
Dee – I wouldn’t recommend this tapas place …it was just a local place called Sonata ( don’t know if spelled right ) , they actually served us raw chicken…after I saw that me and my friend lost our appetites completely ….they offered us replacements and said the chicken rolls would be comped ( well I hope so since they were inedible ) but after seeing all that raw chicken under the bacon none of us could really eat …instead of comping us the chicken rolls you should have comped us the whole meal , but I wasn’t paying so I didn’t say much …we all could have ended up really sick from that …we won’t be going back…there are other tapas places though that we can try around us. Mandy – I LOVE Chick Fil A ….those chicken nuggets are the best !! Glad to hear you had a good time over the weekend. Don’t worry about the food and sunburn part, that comes with the weekend outside territory, lol Susie – Hello, hope you are having a good start to your week. Wanna come clean my house this weekend? Hi Everyone. I didn't get a chance to get her yesterday as I worked from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m and at a quick salad at my desk.
My week is crazy as my Director from the UK is here this week and there are a lot of meetings this week and I'm sort of "on call" and in "demand". She's a lovely lady and I'm happy to assist her. It's just that I have a lot of other things that I do too in my role, like support my Associate Director! Yesterday was my 5 yr service anniversary and that is a good thing. I get 3 weeks of vacation now and I get to choose a "gift"...I've got my eye on a ring or a watch. I also saw my compensation go up. ;) I made sure to get a lot of walks in over the weekend because I wasn't sure how much my evenings would be affected. Last night I didn't get to exercise but I think tonight I will. Mandy: It sounds like you had a very nice weekend and it also sounds like you are getting back on plan. Your husband's comment made me laugh! Carri: I think that since you updated your Lose It app you will see more weight come back off..but you know...a pound is good and I bet this week it will be 2 lbs. I can't wait to see Biggest Loser tonight! Dee: I think your DH just loves you the way you are and he doesn't want you to feel like you have to diet. But sometimes men are a pain for sure! And you know, they think that if they are happy with the way we look then we should be too. But you know, WE own our bodies! As for my to-do list, it makes me tired too..and I'm trying to do more protein and no chocolate! But sometimes the chocolate does sneak in. I'm a very high energy person and I always have a to-do list. That's why my DH is so good for me; he is a lot more laid back so he balances me when I need it. I'm just sort of weird..having things orderly makes me happy and I like to "putter" around organizing. Ok..back to work for me..I ate at my desk again but I decided I needed to put me first somehow so I took a break to check in here and get my motivation! You all are special to me and it makes me feel good to come here and read and "talk". |

So did anyone watch B Loser last night? Susie ? I found it all very interesting and cannot believe that contestants actually walked off the show and lost the chance at the 250k after all that hard work...but oh well I guess...cant wait until next weeks show to see who is coming back from the at home contestants. Mandy - I get from your posts that you are not exactly a girly girl, and from your husbands comments, haha :belly: I think after all this is said and done you are gonna have a rockin bod, muscular and strong :lifter: Susie - those are LONG hours, don't know how you do it, I barely get thru my 8 hrs here ...congrats on your five years, always love getting a raise and more vacation time ...go for the ring !! Hi. It's sunny here today. I am looking forward to my walk tonight when I get home.
At work they have challenged us to get so many steps in by June 18 (it all has to do with the kickoff of the Olympics in London) So, I have my pedometor on and I will be participating in this challenge. I had a great walk last night with my walking partner. This is the 3rd week of the month so we are training for speed during our 5K's. We were able to go 2.25 miles in 30 min last night. Carri; I watched BL and I knew if anyone walked off to go home it would be those two guys. They were so close and just walked away from winning that money. I am interested to see who comes back too. and last night I almost like Conda when I could see how upset she was for her brother. ;) I like your idea of posting our food so I will start doing so as well. Your dinner you have planned tonight sounds good and good for you. Hope your DH doesn't work too late and I hope that you have weekend time with him too! haha carri - i am definitely not a girlie girl. i occasionally like hot pink, but typically only in tandem with black and/or silver. i don't freak out over shoes, purses, make up, accessories of any kind (nail polish is the only exception). i love to play in the dirt and *fix* things. i totally prefer playing video games or watching sports to going shopping. i'm definitely not the jealous type (i tried so hard to get someone to find a stripper for my husband for his bachelor party!). my nod to girly-ness: i do love cooking and dinner parties, and i prefer to wear dresses/skirts most of the time. :D

Morning everyone !!! Well I guess dh and I have decided to put our house up for sale and move...we have been thinking about it off and on for the last two Summers and we thought this Summer or next, but looks like we might do it this one, I am already STRESSED just from thinking about it...it is SO hard to try to get another house while you are trying to sell your old one ...but I am kind of excited about the move, am tired of my neighborhood, it is huge, about 800 homes and it is just too noisy ...want something more quiet, and getting too old for noise, haha :D
Mandy - I am a nail polish FREAK !! I have about 60 bottles and am always buying it...love my nails...so I guess we have that in common :) I will read the blog and let you know if I have any thoughts or questions Susie - its so nice to walk outside when it is warmer huh? i woke up this morning with a blog idea in my head (body image issues prevalent in women who are over weight) and sat down to write it before breakfast. so i'm HUNGRY... but i feel better for having written my thoughts down (so to speak) it's here if you are interested: http://eatingmoreandweighingless.blo...big-issue.html i think my next post is going to be about the evilness of sodium! i found that last night at dinner with my burrito casserole that was 550 calories for a huge thick slice. totally delicious, but also totally loaded with sodium (thank you enchilada sauce and refried beans - next time i'm making my own sauce, and using rinsed and drained black beans, low sodium if i can find them). good luck with your moving carri, we're doing that in july! :) |
Hey Chicklets A beautiful sunny 65* day, now it's raining & it's sooo pretty & the air smells delish. I had my tops WI Thursday & I lost a 1#. 4/19/12
Breakfast: Before my tops club meeting=(my leftover pizza was calling my name in the fridg) :p 2 slices pizza, topped w pineapple-green peppers-mushrooms. Ice water w watermelon & mint leaves in it. After tops WI I couldn't go lunch w the girls so I did fast food @ McD. Lunch: Grilled chicken sandwich, w tomato & lettuce on both sides of bun & extra pickles. McDonald's hot fudge sundae w nuts. Ice tea. Supper: Twice baked potato, filled w broccoli & gravy. Ice water w mint leaves. Dessert: 1 small slice homemade strawberry pie. (1 qt water/32 oz. before 1pm & 1 qt water rest of the day = 8 c. + 1 cup hot tea @ bedtime.) Have a nice Friday girls. I'm starting early today; I'm running errands before the busy university student's car/bike traffic in town. Morning everyone !! Beautiful morning here 68 and sunny, but it is supposed to rain and a cold front move thru this morning, so better enjoy the sun while I can today...nice night though to curl up on the couch and catch up on all my dvr shows.
I am excited about the move, because I do want a new surrounding, I am just nervous about the whole process, it didn't go smoothly for us last time and was very stressful, so hopefully it will be better this time...we will get a new realtor and I think that will help. We are going to start cleaning and doing minor repairs soon and try to get on market by mid May or June. Mandy - Sodium is a huge one for me, I try and watch it but if I have something with a lot of sodium in it my weight goes up 1-2 pds the next day...its a bad thing :) Dee - I like Avon nail polish, they just came out with this new formula of it that I think I wanna try ...gotta tell ya your yesterday's menu did nothing but make me hungry...you had a day of some of my favorite things...haha Hi Susie !!! Hi! I'm here and in just another 30 min my director is back on a plane to the UK and I can now breathe! She had a lot of meetings yesterday with our VP's and so I was on the run most of the day. My podemter said I walked 7 miles and I never left the building once I got here at 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
I did make it to TOPS and I was upset as I didn't loose anything; I didn't gain but I didn't loose. :mad: I have no idea why as my was in the middle of my calorie range every day and I walked for fitness Saturday-Wed, not to mention the steps in the building (and a lot of stairs as they are shortcuts in the building). My DH said is was because I wasn't having any down time and my body was hanging on to what it had; he expects a big loss for me next week. I sure hope so. Dee: I am not going to SRD. It's in Akron this year which is about a 4 hr drive for me. I had thought about going but thought that was the week my Director was going to orginally be here so I didn't sign up to go. No one from my chapter is going; they thought it was to far. Mandy: I hope to take some time this weekend to go to your blog and look around. Carri: Moving can be stressful but it also can be exciting. Ok..got to get back to work. I'm leaving today at 2:30 so I can get some errands done that I didn't get to do all week due to not taking lunch away from my desk. |
susie - i just did an overhaul of the layout and made it more pleasing to my eye... and i just added a new post about what i plan to post on in the future, instead of just "this is my progress, this is what i'm doing"... i have topics i want to research and things i want to talk about and satirical humorous posts coming down the pipe. i feel good about it. :)
today is friday, that means community cook out. i will try to focus on the proteins more than the carbs, but it might be difficult since my sweet tooth is hollerin today! trying to shut it up with crystal light (which usually works). also, the goodies i recently ordered have shipped and will be here soon. yay! :) |

Hi .... not much to say. Sinus headaches, earache, nosepain, on & off for 3 weeks...pains medium to bad pains making me cry on some days. Probably a sinus infection. I've tried natural stuff & allergy pills & ibuprofen. Freaking spring-strong winds all month blowing the ragweed/pollen, etc. nomatter where I'm at in town & in my yard. My 4 doggies weigh 8# to 20# & they've been sneezing too, they get a daily antihistamine & r coping ok. I'm craving a m&m/peanut butter ice cream flurry for 2 days now, instead I ate lofat choc. candy I make & toss it into lofat frozen whip. topping saving me about 400 cal. I'll phone my doc to see if she will phone a RX antibiotic to my pharmacy tomorrow. Last thing I feel like doing is driving 40 min. to her & sit & wait 20 min for her to tell me 'yep your sick', "duh that's why I'm here".

Morning everyone, hope you all had a great weekend, I had a pretty good one …last night was hard …about 8:00 I had an INTENSE craving for chocolate…the only thing I had in the house was two bags of M&M’s but I knew that if I opened one of them it was going to be a binge, so I worked thru it for an hour until it finally went away …normally I would have just had some chocolate because I try not to deny myself a little bit of anything I want within reason, but I could feel a binge in this one ….I am going to be getting my TOM this week, which is always really hard on me since I am on the pill that I only get one every three months…thankfully I will be off work Thurs and Friday so I can have the bulk of the craziness away from people, haha ….it has been a few weeks since I allowed myself a “don’t think about calories day and just eat when hungry” so I feel one of those coming on, and probably why I am getting a little food crazy …probably do that this Saturday as I am going out with my sister for a nice lunch and just want to eat and not think about it, ya know??
Was happy to get down to 215 this weekend …I am getting REALLY close to those single digit two’s !!! and then ……Onederland !!!!!!!!! Dee – sorry to hear you are feeling so bad …about three months ago I had a REALLY bad sinus infection and had to go and get meds …I hear ya on the crying about it, that pain is bad …so hugs …I also have a lot of allergy issues and the sinus headaches just sort of comes with that unfortunately…No, I have never made any cake with those ingredients, although I know a lot of people do…I have to make cupcakes next week for a bake sale here for the March of Dimes…I am going to “attempt” a homemade frosting…thought about doing a cream cheese base and then adding some crushed pineapple and a little of the juice …thought a pineapple cream cheese icing sounded very good and different …with a yellow or butter cake cupcake …any suggestions? Mandy – I just read your blog, I like it ..do you have many followers? I too like the purple look …how did your measurements go this week? Hi Susie – hope you had a good weekend !!! Carri - I only have 3 official followers, but according to the page view stats, i get between 25 and 100 views on the blog each day (it doesn't count me). I'm trying to decide what my next post will be about. Probably when my goodies come in I'll talk about them, post pictures, explanations, intentions, etc.
My blog is kind of therapeutic, but it's also entertainment for me plus i learn things when I'm writing. I'm trying to proivde information (and hopefully entertainment) for people who stumble upon the link. And maybe get a click on an ad in the sidebar occasionally so I can get an extra few dollars in my pocket. The move to Texas is going to be pricey with gas at $4/gallon! |
Oh Girls, Girls, Girls ....WHAT a morning ...took my car in for a routine oil check and tire rotation, advised the guy that I have been losing air in my back passenger tire, two hours later I need a brand new tire and 250.00 plus tax ....its always something huh? And since I am on my TOM, this isn't this best time for me to be dealing with an unexpected financial issue. :( blah !!!!

Mandy, looks like u r enjoying your new blog :) We'll pray for financial prosperity for you & your dh during his college years/internships w his churches :hug: & your goals. Carri, have your dh check your tire & call about a leak repair, my dh has done that a few times when we didn't have the cash. It cost $7 & then we saved up for 2 matching back tires I ordered from Wal-Mart $160 each w free mounting/balancing & a warranty for $15. We kept the better other back tire for a spare to match the front tires we had that are still good. So go tire shopping online w the size of your tire, etc. fill-in the blanks...M & M's r not a set-back for you, you did fab w your work contest & every week being OP, so I think if you get overly strict w your food, you might blow-it & have a huge binge....Enjoy little treats :p: that's what keeps me% |
thanks dee :) as far as the finances go, my husband just finished his classes with 'financial peace university' and because of that they are gonna slash $12,000 off of the top of his tuition. add that in with the $15,000 he got in scholarships (this year, and last) and we're down to about $50,000 in school loans instead of $75,000. master's degrees are expensive! if he gets more scholarships his senior year, he could knock that down to around $40,000... which would mean he got schooling for around half price.
anyway, feeling like crap. going back to bed. glad it's a rest day. |
Morning Girls …this TOM is killing me ….my body wants chocolate SO bad and it is gonna have it …haha ….cravings have been bad …Monday night I gave in and had M&M’s and last night I got in to some old Easter candy, chocolate eggs ….I am just gonna have to give in to it and have some, or else its gonna drive me nuts …if I gain a pound so what, happens only three months and my hormones are driving me crazy !!!!!!!!
Woke up with really bad cramps this morning too ….sounds like it is going to be a great day ( she says sarcasticly ) haha Doing good other food wise, just having chocolate in the evening, guess it could be worse … Susie – did you watch B Loser last night ? I was so glad Jeremy made final three ….I really think from the looks of Kim that she is gonna win, she is getting down to skeletal …and she needs those bags under her eyes fixed, she is too young for those ….gonna be sad to see the last episode but I know it will be back in the Fall ….plus this season hasn’t been the greatest …not the best contestants IMHO …. Hi. Sorry to have been MIA for a few days. I was just worn out from work last week and had a lot to catch up on at work and at home.
I didn't just throw caution to the wind and go off-plan even though I wasn't here--so that's a good thing! BUT I know I need the accountability of a daily check-in. Had a great walk with my walking partner last night. We are on week 4 of our looping 4 week training routine--so that meant we go and do a 5k walk. We used the route of the one that we did last November. I am happy to say we did it in 56 min last night. Our training is getting us somewhere! I want to add some weight back into my workout routine. I have 6 week plan that I found in a magazine and so I'm going to try and start doing that at home. I plan on doing it Sat or Sunday to try it all out and then from there do it on Mon and Wed. Carri: When I was watching the BL last night I wondered if you were watching too! I am happy that Jeremy is in the final 3 too. Also when I was watching it and I saw those numbers coming down for all of them I was thinking about you and how much weight you have lost in the past 6 weeks--you are doing well! Keep it up and battle those TOM cravings as best you can. Mandy: I like what you said about you are learning about yourself on your blog. That is what "journaling" is all about. I am still stuffed with snot. YAY sinus infections. STUPID WHORE TREES. AND STUPID SLUTTY GRASS! Their reproduction cycle makes my face hurt, literally. Anyway, reading NROL4W and loving it to pieces. I love the fact that it backs up my decision to eat more by saying the whole "eat less, move more" idea that gets thrown around is contradictory because eating less tells your metabolism to slow down, and moving more tells it to slow up. That would explain plateaus! I posted this earlier on another thread (asking about "what's your diet plan") and feel as though I am going to be ripped to shreds. I probably will not check responses. Actually I know this sounds horrible but I am giving myself a diet free period for the next few days...I am just really burnt out from having to count every calorie and with my TOM I am just having really bad carb cravings....I just need this time to back off a little...I have done really well and will continue to do so after these days but I just need this right now, no excuses, I just do.
In fact I am going out for chinese for lunch with my brother in a few minutes...have a good day girls Carri |

Carri: It's good to take a mini break for a day or two. Remember during TOM to eat more protein as your body is most likely craving it.

Glad I could make you guys laugh :) My husband gives me weird looks when I tell him tree sperm makes me sneeze, or that my car looks like it was the victim of a botanical gang bang. :-\ Apparently sex jokes are not appreciated even when they are about trees... or acknowledging the fact that pollen = plant sperm.
Anyway, last night was a gym night and I'm sore from my shoulders to my ankles... I guess that's good, cause it was a leg and core night. Burned 706 calories. Hope you all have a good day! |

I want to thank Carri and Susie for keeping up with me on facebook :) I have not been on a "diet" but have been trying to watch what I eat and have went from 205 to 198 lately since doing so. I know I am not where I want to be but pretty much maintaining has been nice. I know I need to post here but since I am very rarely on my computer and do everything from my phone its been hard. Hope everyone is doing well and if you want to add me on facebook (I dont talk about my weight at all on there but we can keep in contact more) I am on Carri and Susie's friends list. I am happy to report that I had a loss at TOPS on Thursday. I lost 1.5 lbs. It felt great to have those scales go down! Now to do it again this week! It's so yucky and dreary here today in Ohio. I haven't done much of anything and I need to get in gear and get something done. My DH is dealing with a nasty cold and since he has no energy I am letting it affect me. Mel: So good to see you here and hey, Welcome to ONEderland! 198 looks good on you! Dee: Good job on your loss and I'm glad that you got the Rx so you are feeling better. I love water--it is so calming and restoritive. I have a few desk-top fountains in my house that I turn on when I come home from work; to help calm me and transition my mind. hey kids!!
tuesday is the day! i'm both excited and nervous to weigh in and take measurements. i played with the body fat analyzer a little bit and it seems i'm down about half a percent in body fat since i got it. YAY! i hope it's right. weekly measures will start to tell the trend. gonna take the tape measure to my neck, chest (over bust), bust, waist, belly button, hips, bicep, thigh, and calf once a week to see where the fat is disappearing from. I'm thinking bicep/chest/bust/waist more than belly button and lower. but since i haven't measured in a while we'll see how it's doing. i'll do a daily weigh in (which i will be tracking here: https://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/HackDiet). i'm also gonna be tracking my blood pressure, per doctors request. anyway, kind of exited to start tracking after the last month of letting things reset! |
GUESS WHAT?!?!
I HELD A PLANK FOR 31 SECONDS TONIGHT!! yes, that deserves all caps and probably a bajillion exclamation points to properly convey my excitement, but i'll spare you the eye-burn. that's the first time i've ever held a plank for more than 30 seconds. when i started strength training at the end of february, i couldn't hold a plank for more than 15 seconds to save my life. SO HAPPY! :) |
