A plank for 31 seconds would make me want to puke..but it has to feel amazing when you do it!

Satine 05-01-2012 10:19 AM

Morning Girls, sorry I have been MIA ....I took a few vacation days from work and just didn't get on the computer at all ....yay for Mel stopping in and telling us that she is in Onederland !!! Congrats Mel !!! :carrot::carrot:

I did have my time off from my diet ...it actually went from Thursday through Sunday ...so quite a LONG time off of it ...but its now out of my system ...scale said I was up 7 pds, but I know that is not possible, just water weight and such ...now I know I probably gained 1-2 but I can get that off this week ...I had a LOT of junk food and sweets AND my favorite fountain cherry coke, but it is out of my system now for a while....

Mandy - good job on the plank, you are getting really strong !!!

Susie - lunch with my brother was great ...I was full of chinese !!!! MMMM eggrolls ....

Dee - so did you end up having any chinese since I tempted you ? haha

Well I gotta get back to work, have a good day all !!!

Carri

Rtsmme4life 05-01-2012 01:04 PM

Susie- Thanks! I am hoping to start losing again soon. Congrats on the 1.5 lb loss!!!

Carri- Thats probably all water weight like you said and should shed off quickly! Thanks for the congrats!! Now to get out of the 190s....which has always seemed to be impossible!! lol

SMSDREAMER2007 05-01-2012 04:04 PM

Hey Ya'll! It's been a while.
Sooo busy after the move. Finally caught up on everything. I haven't stepped on a scale often, but last I did was sometime last week and it said I was back to 241 :\ If I didn't gain more than that with all the sodium, eating out and laziness of the move and situating classes and catching up on everything I'll be happy. I started c25k yesterday and was still WAAAAYYY over my calorie range but I am making a vow to go to the workout room here at our apartments every day. I don't plan on weighing myself for 2+ weeks because I also started some light weight training today and I know that every time I start running I retain weight until my body gets used to it. Add weight training in there and I probably won't see the scale move for a month or so. I am also lowering my cals back to 1200, I had more success there than i did at 1400 because I think "oh I can add 100 cals and it's ok" but at 1400 I do that and I get dangerously close to the cal range where I don't lose at all because of my PCOS which is 1600. Hope you all are doing well on your journey. Sorry it took me so long to come back! HUUGGSSS

MyChoice2bfit 05-02-2012 09:58 AM

Hi Everyone,

Finally a moment to breathe! I feel like I'm on track and doing well. I'm gaging that more by the fact that I'm not eating for comfort when I have something going on that stresses me out..and I have had that for the past two weeks.

The stresser is my annual GYN appt that I put off for a year and half--it's today and I just want to go and get it over with. I always seem to have something that comes up at the appt and then I have to deal with it. Not to mention going back and losing only 14 lbs since my last visit but hey at least I'm not going back 14 lb up!

Next week is my annual mamo and that is even a worse stresser for me as a year and a half ago I had one that was "suspicious" but after the sonogram they determined it all looked ok.

I'm usually a pretty faith filled person and don't worry, but these two areas of my health are hard for me not to worry with. I'm praying though and would appreciate those who do that to keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Carri: Cherry cokes...YUMMY! I'm glad you are back on track though. Tell me what you thought of Biggest Loser last night!

Mel: You can get out of the 190's...I KNOW you can.

Dreamer: I hope things have settled for you. What is C25K? I have PCOS too and it is hard to lose weight with that but losing weight turns it around so keep working hard to get that weight off. You are young and might want babies someday!

Dee: Where are you? Are you busy getting ready for the Cinco de Mayo party?

Mandy: How's it going?

Liz, Arabelle, Auntie G: have you been lurking? if so, HI and we miss you!

Satine 05-02-2012 10:34 AM

Morning Girls…still bloated with water weight and salt ….but trying not to get on the scale and wait for the weekend to get really depressed about it, haha

Okay so next *************** SPOILER ALERT FOR BIGGEST LOSER, DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVENT SEEN YET ******************

Susie – I was surprised that Jeremy won, I really thought Kim would….but like she said she has already won, even without the money because she looks fantastic, well they all do. Now hopefully they can keep it off, that is the real test ….I already am looking forward to it coming back in Sept, just hope it’s a better season next time. I hear ya on the gyn appt, I am on birth control so in order to get my script filled I HAVE to get one every year….my gyn doesn’t do mammo’s until age 40 so I am a couple years away from that …but I did have one when I was 22 years old ( fibroid tumor removed ) so I do know what it’s like, however I didn’t think it was so bad …anyways I know it will go okay for you today…hugs

Dreamer – glad to see you back, glad move went well …1200 seems pretty low for your weight, are you sure ? Well whatever works for you I guess…just that at 1200 you don’t have anywhere to go lower…at least that is how I always look at it…currently I am at 1400 and it works really well for me, but I know since you have PCOS you have to do things differently.

Mel – yes I know its probably water weight but still upsetting to see, but hey I did it to myself …I always take it a decade at a time and it makes it seem more do-able I guess…so you will be in the 180’s before you know it. Great seeing ya on here

Dee – Hi Dee !!!!! Looking forward to Cinco De Mayo this Saturday? We are going over to a friends house for taco night and drinks …my friend said the derby is also that day so we will also have to have on our big hats and drink mint juleps, haha

Has anyone tried that new bbq chicken sandwich from Subway? I was thinking about getting one for lunch today but didn’t know how it would taste…not a fan of their chicken, but the bbq sauce might help.

Have a great day all !! Gonna be a steamy 87 here today ….yay ( she types sarcasticly ) !!

Carri

SMSDREAMER2007 05-02-2012 01:24 PM

susie - c25k is couch to 5k. It is a running program that is 9 weeks long. I used it last time I wanted to learn to run and had great results on it. I used to be the one that could barely walk 3 blocks to the store and now I can walk as long as I want and/or run some if I decide. My boyfriend and I know we want kids (not right now) and I have wanted them since I was 17 when I went through some news that I couldnt have any unless I reverse the damage that PCOS has caused on my body (87 lbs, I've been able to reverse almost half the damage). Good luck with your appointments, I hope all turns out well!

Carri- I know that looks low, It feels low to me too, but it's the level that I consistently lose at. I've talked to my doctor before and she assured me that if I eat mainly veggies and fruit, use soy products for extra protein and eat only whole grains when I do eat grains that if I have to go lower than 1200 cals to reach goal weight I should be ok as long as I have some "high days" once in a while I can do this by raising calls to 14-1500 one a week or to around 3000 once a month, my choice. I also shouldn't do it for more than 2 years straight. For those of us with PCOS we tend (there are exceptions to that rule) to have to eat fewer cals than normal women because of the hormone imbalances and insulin resistance that comes with PCOS. btw, I havent had the new sandwich, but if you watch sodium, I can tell you it is NOT your friend. Sandwiches in general are high in sodium and the lowest one I have found at subway is the chicken breast for 690 for a 6 inch or 1400 for a footlong.

Just to catch up. I couldn't resist temptation, I jumped on the scale this morning it was 239 soo I only gained 2-3 lbs since moving YAY not as bad as I thought. Buuuttt with starting c25k and a teensy bit of weight training (my arms) I think I am going to stay at this weight for at least a month :\ which kind of sucks cause I was hoping to be in the 220's by the end of april and that didn't happen so I thought maybe by the end of may....errr not happening either. Oh well! Have a good day all!

Satine 05-03-2012 08:35 AM

Morning All …well I did step on the scale this morning and half way thru my week I have lost 4 of the 7 pds that the scale told me I gained last week, haha ….just hoping to be rid of the other three by Sunday…today we are having a taco pitch in at work …I have brought my own low carb tortillas to have ( a ton of fiber ) so I will hopefully get full and satisfied and not want to go after all the desserts that people bring in…wish me luck

Do any of you have a good chicken salad recipe ( Dee ? ), keeping in mind that I don’t like the chunky kind with grapes and nuts in it …I am more of the old fashioned deli style spread of it …I heard to get that consistency you need to make it in the food processor…but anyway if you guys have one let me know

Gonna be another hot one today with a high around 86-87 …they said this morning our normal high around this time is 69 …I pray this isn’t a sign of a long hot and humid Summer …we had one last year and it was miserable, not only for the temp but also for my electric bill !!!

Dreamer ( forgive me I am blanking on your real first name ) – Yeah I really don’t watch sodium, which I probably should, but I drink a ton of water and am also on a water pill so I normally don’t have any issue. The sandwich was pretty good actually, better than I thought it would be, I would recommend …I know what you mean about hormones and stuff like IR ..I have diabetes so I really struggle with the weight loss sometimes too…it’s an uphill battle that’s for sure …

Hi Dee, Susie, and Mandy ….

Have a great day everyone.

Carri

MyChoice2bfit 05-03-2012 01:04 PM

Hi. You all don't know it, but I'm having lunch with you!

I'm eating at my desk today as I want to keep caught up on here and my personal email.

When I get home at night, after being on the computer all day, I just don't want to get back on. I do see somethings from my phone.

Anyway, I'm having a tasty lunch. I have a left over stuffed pepper (vegitarian style) and I bought a lime and jalepeno package of wraps so I made a wrap out of the pepper and it's really good. And I have a pear for my dessert.

Tonight is TOPS weigh-in and I hope I show a loss!

My Gyno appt went well yesterday. He told me I'm holding up pretty well for a murturing lady. :D He didn't say too much about my weight but he did say he wanted me to keep working on it.

We discussed my thyroid issue as well as my tacaradia and the meds I take for both. The beta blocker I take for the tacaradia can cause weight-gain and he thinks that maybe some of the newer ways they are treating it now might be something to look into. He gave me some things to read and a name of a specialist.

So, that appointment is over with and one more to go! Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers and please keep them coming.

Carri: I thought Kim would win too and she looked AMAZING! Like you said they all did....even Conda. I'm looking forward to next season too.
Glad to see that 4 lbs has left you.

Dreamer: You are doing a great job taking care of yourself and working hard now to ensure you are healthy later in life. I do 5k's but I don't run. I walk them. I've done 2 and I'm training for my next one. My goal is to do 4 this year and I want my time to be 50 min by the 4th one. I am currently at about 57 mn. The first one I did I was at 58.56 min. I'm making progress

Have a good day everyone and I'll see you tomorow.

MyChoice2bfit 05-04-2012 06:51 AM

Quick check-in so I can report a 1.50 lb loss at my TOPS meeting last night!

Everyone have a good Friday.

Satine 05-04-2012 09:29 AM

Morning everyone !! Went over cals last night with Pizza King Pizza :( But today is another day :)

Susie - Congrats on the loss !!!! Woohoo !!! :carrot: I hear ya on the computer thing...I always get on here on my breaks or lunch at work because when I get home I am the same way, cannot stand the thought of getting on computer again. That is why usually I don't get on here over the weekend either ...unless I am on facebook :D

Have a feeling I probably shouldn't weigh myself this weekend, so I may just wait until next weekend to check it and post my weight ...I think I still need another week recovery since my body is letting go of my 4 day weekend binge slowly, haha

Hi to everyone, if I don't get back in here have a great weekend !!!!

Carri

Morning All ...hope you all had a great weekend, I am just popping in to say Hey ...have a good Monday.

Carri

MyChoice2bfit 05-07-2012 04:06 PM

Hello Everyone,

It was a busy weekend for us and I just didn't get on the computer. I wish that it was easier to do 3Fat Chicks from my phone. It's just really hard to see it and to get logged in to post.

It's ok though..you all are worth the extra effort!

I was pretty much on plan most of the weekend. I have been slipping with not using my Lose It app and I must recommitt to it again because research shows that it works for me when I use it!

Mindy: I hope you are having a great Monday too! I think it was a good idea to not weigh and give it another week.

Dee: I could have sworn I saw a post for you? How was the Cinco de Mayo party?

Mandy: Sorry you are dealing with some emotinal issues. I haven't had time to check your blog to see what its about but I will try and get there.

Ok...it was a quick check-in from work but I needed to connect.

konfyoozed 05-07-2012 07:04 PM

I don't know if it was the exercise, the fresh air, getting to spend time with my husband, or the good news with my weights and measures (down .6 pounds, and 2.75 inches for the week)... but my mood is vastly improved.

I think it was the fact that I had wendy's for lunch ;)

Satine 05-08-2012 10:17 AM

Morning Girls ...had a great OP Monday, which is quite an accomplishment considering the last week I had...

Mandy - great to hear your outlook has improved ...I know whenever I am feeling bad my husband can make me feel better within 5 mins, he has a calming effect on me ...guess I know I am with the right person

Speaking of my husband, those of you that are friends with me on facebook probably noticed that I put a new pic of him up ....such a hottie !!!! :)

Susie - good for you for staying OP this weekend...I love the Lose It app but I sometimes forget to do it too ...sometimes it is quite a chore, haha ...but keeps me within my cals that's for sure.

Hi to Dee and Kooz !!

Have a good day girls !!

Carri

Rtsmme4life 05-08-2012 09:30 PM

Carri-Yay for the OP monday!!! I know you will rock this week :)

Susie- Sending super healthy vibes to you! Congrats on the loss as well!!

konfyoozed 05-09-2012 01:39 AM

went to the gym tonight. and i feel amazing!

held a plank for 40 seconds (that's 10 seconds longer than before!), and got under a barbell for squats. THAT WAS HARD and i only did 50 pounds. wooo.

i can't wait til i can claim triple digits on bench press, squat or dead lift. can't wait til i can claim a minute on a plank. I'M JUST EXCITED ABOUT GETTING STRONGER :D :D :D

Satine 05-09-2012 08:32 AM

Good Morning Ladies ….well it seems after all the back and forth I have been doing diet wise the last couple of weeks that the final result is a 1 pound gain…and I will take it …weighed in this morning at 216 …so that tells me by this weekend I can be back to my fighting weight lol.
My goal for a while now has been to get to the single digit 200’s …so I guess now I am back to going in the right direction.

Mother’s Day is this weekend, everybody got their gifts for their Mom’s ( if you are lucky enough to still have them )? I got mine early…and am all set…got dh’s mom a gift card last night to go in to her card…hate buying anything for her, neither myself or dh can stand her ….she is no mother and deserves nothing ( long story )…so sick of the obligatory holiday’s …

I know a few of you are Mom’s so I hope you have a great Mothers Day this weekend….who are the Mom’s in our group …I know Mel is ..who else?

My Mom and I are very close. She had me when she was 17 and so we sort of grew up together…can’t wait to see my parents on Sunday, it has been a few weeks since I laid eyes on them haha

Well The Voice is over now….I won’t say who win in case you guys haven’t watched it yet but it is not who I wanted to win ….all my shows are ending at the same time…Amazing Race, Survivor, The Biggest Loser, and now The Voice ….what’s a girl to watch?

Mel – thanks for the encouragement, so far so good , can’t wait to try the health balls ( that doesn’t sound good haha ) recipe

Mandy – you are doing amazing with your strength training …congrats …

Hi Susie and Dee….

Have a good day everyone !!!!

Carri

konfyoozed 05-09-2012 08:50 AM

We got mommy's day cards for our 3 moms... my mom, and hubby's mom and stepmom. his family is the weirdest drama-free blended family EVER. it's wonderful, but also a little surreal when you're sitting there thinking "okay, i'm in a room with my husband's mom and dad, their new spouses, and his stepmom's ex husband... all the siblings.... AND NOBODY'S FIGHTING..." plus he calls both sets 'mom and dad' so I say "which one?"... I'm still getting used to that. I can't call 3 women 'mom' and 3 men 'dad' so his parents still get first name from me. They fuss, but I feel awkward!

Rambling tangent, sorry :P

Satine 05-09-2012 10:20 AM

BUt you don't have kids, right Mandy? I couldn't remember

MyChoice2bfit 05-09-2012 11:05 AM

Hi Ladies,

I am working from home this morning and then took a half vacation day this afteroon. I could work from home all afternoon but I decided I needed to get some things done that I want done.

Also, going to do a workout at 1:30 with my walking friend. We couldn't get together last night as normal so we saw the opportunity this afternoon and are taking it. We will be doing the treadmill and the hills program on there for 45 min as this is the hill training week that we do for our 5k training.

I also plan to wash down the railing on my porch and also scrub up some lawn chairs.

I had my mamo appt this morning and I'm praying for good results. Also did my blood draw and will have those numbers back tomorrow.

Mel.. Thanks for the wellness vibes! Good to see you here! Good luck on those scales when you do your weigh-in this weekend.

Mandy: Getting stronger is a GOOD thing and that plank is looking good!

Carri: I will have to check out your FB pictures. Happy to know that you only had a real gain of 1 lb and I'm sure you will have the off soon.

Dee: We miss you!

konfyoozed 05-09-2012 12:17 PM

no kids for us yet, we're waiting til hubby has a job after he finishes grad school. we figure having actual income is a pretty decent starting point for "ready to have a baby"

Satine 05-10-2012 09:59 AM

Morning Ladies …..I am so happy this morning …I stepped on scale and I was back to 215 …the extra pound is gone !!! Now after two weeks of eating like crap and being 5-7 pds up every time I weighed in ( I know from sodium, fat, and water weight…but still ) I am back to where I started and can now start working towards getting to 210 which is my next goal …..the only way to do it is to look at it in 10 pd increments, otherwise I just get so frustrated ……..but YAY, I am happy this morning !!!!!!!

Tonight we are going to Max and Erma’s for dinner with dh’s parents and not a lot of healthy options there…I guess after looking at the menu off and on all day yesterday that my best choice is gonna be the chicken fajitas, minus all the cheese, guac, and sour cream ….it actually sounds really good to me so that is what I will do. Going out to dinner when you are trying to stay within calories is so hard at some places….a lot of places make an effort to give you healthy options but like I said apparently Max and Erma’s does not, haha

I saw last night that the Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition is coming back on the first week of June …that makes me happy since like I said yesterday I have recently lost all my shows…did you guys watch this show last year? It is really good…Inspiring…

Susie – I will be praying that you get all good results from your tests, keep us posted

Hope you all have a great day.

Carri

Satine 05-11-2012 10:21 AM

Morning Ladies ...Happy Friday !!!!:cb:

I am so happy because I believe on my weigh in tomorrow or Sunday that I am gonna be under 215 and that means closer to 210 for my mini goal !!

Last nights dinner with dh parents went okay ...I did well with food, I did end up getting the chicken fajitas with just salsa, lettuce, and a little sour cream, 2 tortillas and then just ate the rest of the chicken plain ...it was very good.

Dee - that whole thing about the fashion reality show ( and yes I know which one you are talking about ) is amazing...I just hope you didn't pass up a great opportunity, because it sounds awesome...I know you would be great at it. Not sure I understand what you mean about sending you a garment to alter but I would probably be willing to do it ...haha ..and yes winning the lottery would be A LOT easier lol :D
Speaking of sushi, my mouth waters for it to a lot, and actually we do have it quite a bit, it fits in to my diet plan pretty good...now pot stickers, not so much but I still love those too.

Hi Susie and Mandy, and everyone else

I can't wait to be off this weekend, need some relaxing time with my husband...

Well Happy Mothers Day to all you mothers, and anyone else who is lurking and reading ....enjoy your weekend, I may pop back in to see what is going on.

Later :broc:

Carri

MyChoice2bfit 05-13-2012 09:07 AM

Hi Everyone!

I have good news to share. The mamo was normal! No scary "second" looks.

Also, our hospital had the new digital mamography which shows things so much more, so I feel very positive that nothing is looking.

I can't tell you have "freeing" this feels!

I told myself that if I had everything with my health come back with no issues that I would use the next year to squeeze out every ounce of life that I can and that includes doing all I can to get healthier, mind, body and soul.

At TOPS on Thursday I had a .25 lb gain. I think that I actually stayed the same but showed that small "up" due to water retention.

Carri: I'm excited to see what those scales will say for you this weekend.
Your dinner sounds like it was very nice and that you enjoyed your food within reason and had a nice time.

Dee: Thanks for sharing your health history with me. That made me a bit calmer while I waited for results.
As for the reality show--I am proud of you for doing what you felt was best for you. It's not easy to do that when the other feels like such a opportunity but I think you counted the cost of both decisions and did what is right for you.
I am with Carri, I don't know what you mean about sending you a garment to alter but I would probably be willing to do it too!

Hi Mandy, and Mel!

Time for me to get ready to go to church. I haven't attended church on Mother's Day for about 15 years. It's a hard day for me; I was never close to my mother--my dad raised me and my brother and I so wanted kids, so I usually skip church on Mother's Day because of all the attention to mothers. I would always just sit and cry. BUT, I decided today that I am attending. I get to "mother" so many of my friends children and are blessed that I have that opportunity. So, I'm going..I might cry but I'm going. I'm there to worship anyway and God has been so good to me.

Looking forward to reading all your posts. It keeps me going.

konfyoozed 05-13-2012 03:16 PM

Hey everyone!!

It's been crazy around here, and will continue to be crazy for the next week or so... Hopefully I can find time to come post! I feel like I've been running in circles! I haven't been tracking my calories, and I haven't made it to the gym, but with so much else going on, there hasn't been *time*... Luckily I am finally in a place mentally where I am okay with saying "One week off plan is not going to completely derail my fitness goals"... one week is next to nothing in the grand scheme of things, so I am at peace with my decision to not count until after my anniversary in 8 days. I'm also kind of curious what it will do to my numbers that I take on Mondays!

We'll see. I hope everyone has a great day!

Satine 05-13-2012 07:42 PM

Hi Girls. Hope everyone had a good weekend and Mothers Day. I went and saw my Mommy today and had a good time with my parents.

Susie - SO glad to hear it was good news. Hugs.

My weigh in today was AWESOME. I am now at 213.2 !!! Which also means I am on the cusp of 212. So exciting to be so close to the single digit 2's.

So a loss of two this week.

Have a great Sunday evening. Weekends go so fast huh?

Carri

Satine 05-14-2012 04:10 PM

Ghost town-ish ..... where is everybody ?

I have had a pretty good Monday, down to the last 50 mins of work before I head out to start my 2nd job at home ....laundry and dinner duties call...:strong:

Nothing too much going on around here ...hope you all are having a good start to your week. :sunny:

See ya

Carri

Satine 05-15-2012 09:02 AM

Hello? Bueller ? Bueller ?:lol: hahahaha …..C’mon girls, where are ya ? I can’t do this on my own

I had a lot of dh’s pork rinds last night, bad idea …while I was within my calorie range I also had a TON of sodium with them and the scale showed it this morning…gonna drink a lot of water today to flush it all out. Showed me up a whole pound, not good. :nono:

Yesterday was a LONG work day, I hope this isn’t the same ….I am just itching to get out in the nice weather and not sit here in a cubicle I guess…always gets like this for me when it hits Summer. Those of you that work in an office know I what I mean I am sure.

Okay, well I hope to hear from one of you soon. :listen:

Have a good day all.

Carri :cheese:

MyChoice2bfit 05-15-2012 12:45 PM

Carri: Thanks for holding down the fort! and whoo..hooo on that loss! Girl you are looking good!

I survived our Innovation Reviews yesterday. It was a long day. I was at our General Offices in downtown Cincinnati at 7:00 a.m. This is a hour drive for me if the traffic is good-and yesterday it wasn't to bad.

I left the GO offices at 6:30 p.m. last night. It was a long day!
But it was exciting too and to be with Senior management all day long was interesting. I've never seen our CEO in person before and there he was just standing across the room.

I will walk with my walking partner tonight. This is the night for speed training.

I just can't get back into the habit of tracking my food. I KNOW I need to do it, I KNOW it brings me the results I want..so why don't I just do it?

Mandy: Sometimes a little break is a good thing, so enjoy...in moderation and we will be right here waiting on you.

Dee: You are too quiet! We miss you!

miniDoodles 05-16-2012 11:14 AM

Helllloooo :?:

Spooky when nobody is home  just ghostly.

None of my reality show season fav's won :( Sunday-on Survivor 'Kim' won, boo. My pic's were Christina or Alicia or any of the guys. Last night on FS, 'Kara' won & her style is like for CA, Vegas or New Yorkers; I never wore MC Hammer crotch pants like she had last night, her style is way-over-the-top except for her H&M clothes & a few for Macy's that I'd wear. I want clothes that r flattering, not Weird. I'd wear all of Ronnie's line & most of the other female designers & they are Fab Designer's even though they didn't win.

oops, I gotta go now. I have a client coming in 5 minutes to pick up her 2 halter-style maxi-dress's I made for her.

 TTFN, Dee
Be back later to see if y'all r awake yet :)

Lunch time here. I didn't have much to pack but I'm having a boiled egg and a Kashi bar. I also have some watermelon for later. Dinner tonight is taco's so I'm ok with going this light at lunch.

My walking partner and I had a great workout last night. We were traning for speed in our 5k races. We usually walk for 45 min and however far we go in that time is good with us (that is our 1st week of the month general walk), so last night it was about speed, so we got to moving. We did our course that we do every Monday night and realized we have 20 more minutes to go, so we did it again.

We ended up going 3.51 miles in 52 minutes! We were might proud of ourselves.

Starting next week my friend doesn't have anything on Wed nights all summer so we are going to add that night as a workout together and it wll be some cardio for 20 min (so most likely the elliptical) and then hit the weights. I haven't done weight training for a LONG time so it will be good to get back into that--in the summer the weight room isn't that crowded at the Y.

Dee: Your food sounds yummy and you did great with only gaining that 1/2 lb.
I watch Revenge too and I love it! I DVR and watch it on the weekends.
Thanks for offering your phone #. I'll PM you some time--I think you already have my email?

Looking forward to reading posts from the rest of you!

Afternoon Girls….boy it is feast or famine around here huh…either only one of us are posting or everybody is, hahaha

I am doing okay …still staying OP and doing well that way ….just getting kind of bored with it since I have been doing it since Feb, but I gotta realize this is a lifestyle change and get over it I guess ….my scale is showing up a pound even though I have not cheated at all …but I know our bodies fluctuate daily so not gonna go all crazy over it.

Dee – you are so talented….you can make and design clothes and you are a chef ? You are the whole package …well I guess we would have to talk to your dh about that, haha ….I am with you on the Survivor thing…I really didn’t want Kim to win …I actually wanted Chelsea to win…Didn’t care much for the other girls ( well I did like Sabrina ), and of course Tarzan was a straight up weirdo…I kept thinking about your coke and dr pepper thing, and I am gonna HAVE to try it ….I love cherry coke of any kind so I bet I would like it …now that’s just the regular dr pepper right? Not the cherry flavored one? All the food you had this weekend sounds so delicious to me, haha …And thank you so much for the pretty compliment.

Susie – hope your work week is going well ….just think we are half way done !!!!

Hi Mel and Mandy !!! And everybody else reading.

Have a great day everyone, it is beautiful here, nice and sunny and just the right temp !! Great day to be at the track if I was off work.

Afternoon Girls....I am so excited as I have the day off tomorrow...dh and I are going to the track ( Indy 500 ) just to hang out for a while and watch them practice...we also have a friend that works for Mario Andretti's group so we will hang out with him too. Gonna have to keep my eating in check while there, as they have a mighty tasty tenderloin, haha ...but I can do it. :)

Dee - are those sugar ramblings? haha ...I love to read your posts, and yes I was giving you a compliment...I love hearing about you and your dh, you sound like a great fun couple and if we ever did come your way we certainly would hang out.

Dee asked about my dh so I will tell you a little bit about him...he is a 37 year old stud, lol .....well to me....he is very tatooed from top to bottom, which I love...but don't have one myself ...we met in middle school but started dating my senior year and have been together ever since...we have been married for 18 years !!! But anyway back to him, he has a great mellow personality, doesn't get too crazy about anything...just wants to live life and be happy. He is most content just watching tv at home with me but loves to be out with our friends as well. He loves to fish, go to concerts, and go to races. He also loves casinos, which I do too ( once in a while ). He treats me very well and I always know I come first with him no matter what...he just wants to see me happy, and can't take it when I am sad or depressed...it is an honor to be his wife and be loved by him. I am very lucky. Awwww, that was very nice of me...lol :D

Hope you guys all have a great evening...we are meeting friends at a bbq place for dinner and I am just gonna get their grilled chicken and cottage cheese ( and 80 yr old woman's side choice haha ).

See ya

Carri

Thanks Carri  our dh's adore us, both the same, sigh :val2:. Our grandbabes laugh whenever dh carries me in his arms & sets me on his lap & when we dance together; & the kids ask for their turn too :) How many kids do you have?
You forgot to tell what your dh does/his occupation is???

My dh is a foreman/leadman 'Industrial draftsman & is also a steel welder' he's worked for the same corporation 26 yr & still enjoys it. It's amazing going to the 'company's annual fun', free 'summer festival' & university free football games 'tail-gate' party & the winter 'dinner dance' & he knows hundreds of the 400 employees there by name as working as a team & I get many hugs.
dh built our water-furnace 4 yr ago & we burn wood in it from our 30 acres to heat our big home, so nice to have 'no heating bills' & our electricity is energy efficient & a cozy 74* all year. dh also heats our swimming pool from the water furnace.

Susie, time to spill about your dh :o How r we doing w our 5k training
:cheer: 'Team Susie' :bunny2:

Luv, Dee

Hi Ladies,

I am happy to repot a .75 lb loss on Thursday. I thought I would be down at least a pound but we had taco's for dinner on Wednesday night and I retain water easily. I didn't think about that when I choose that for dinner on Wed. Got to think about those things going forward.

As usual I'm trying to pack 32 hours into a 24 hr periond. This weekend is crazy busy and next weekend will be as well. We have so many graduation parties to attend and then trying to get the regular weekend things done. Next weekend we are hosting our 10th annual Memorial Day cookout. We usually have about 45-50 people..it's just huge!

You asked about my DH: His name is John and he is 10 yrs older(he is 56) than me. we meet on a blind date almost 27 years ago (we meet July 3). I only went out with him because a friend of mine insisted and wouldn't leave me alone about it. So I choose a Thursday to go out so he wouldn't ruin my weekend! I was quite the party girl back then and I had been casualy dating a Bengal football player at the time as well.

I believe he is very handsome. He is 6'2" and pretty athletic although in the past 10 years he has slowed down a bit. He is a cabinet finisher, he applies the stains and paint to custom cabinetry.

He loves to go shopping maybe even more than me! He can wear me out at the mall; I am usually looking for a place to sit and he is still going strong.

What really makes him special is he never knows a stranger and people just seem to gravitate towards him. He is a big kid and it's something that is usually a very good thing to my "all work" attidtude that I tend to have.

He balances me, is always supportive of me and I love him pretty much every day. Athough at times I will introduce him to people as my "first" husband just so he knows that status could change! lol :D

We have been married 24 yrs come this October and he still makes me smile everyday.

Dee: Hopefully you have drank a ton of water and got all that sugar out of your system? Did you "crash" after it? I know I do when I do that and it just feels awful afterwards.

Carri: What is getting boring to you being OP? I did notice on FB that your hubby had a lot of tattos; reminded me of Adam Lavine--who is SO nice to look at! I have two tattos :p They are addicting for sure. I have two more that I want to get in my lifetime. I got my first one at 38.

Mandy: How's it going?

Konfyoozed: Has life slowed down any for you.

Ok. I saw Dee ask about pets. We have one. He is a macoon (sp?) cat. I rescured him about 6 years ago. He is huge! about 15 lbs (has been 18 but I put him on a diet) and his name is Hudda Budda. He is a total indoor cat. He adjusted to that pretty well, as I believe he was an outside cat until I found him.

Since we have no kids he is our baby and he rules our house. lol

I came on this morning to say, does anyone have a Kindle Fire or a color Nook e-reader or another brand & your pros & cons, Thanks!!! I can't afford a Ipad, do you have that & use it as a e-reader?

I posted this below yesterday but didn't want to use another page for my question above, so I added to my page this morning :):

Hey Susie  Nice meeting your dh today, awesome guy! I would enjoy learning wood finishing from him...I get used wood furniture & try to give them a new life & home, I can't afford new.

Hi John, I'm Dee. Your wife Susie is a Awesome girl, nice to know that you r a good hubby to her.

Susie, Good Job w your new Loss however, Susie you r going to loose 5+ pounds now, your monthly goal, it's very do-able for you :carrot: being active weekly in the summer w fresh veggies & fruits available everywhere. You CAN Do This  If we lived in Ohio, we'd come 'crash' your cook-out next weekend :hungry: I'm always bummed/sad during Memorial Day weekend, gardening the flowers @ the cemetary for my awesome dad & my nasty mom's grave; my 2 brother's & my precious baby son's grave

Susie does a maincoon cat look like a ragdoll cat, they get big too & r also beautiful. I love his name!
We only have 4 doggies. Mee-Mee 10# our 10 month puppy (miniGoldenDoodle) my pic is her 4 month baby pic here, my little shadow wherever I am. Sundae 3 yr. the mommy a miniGolden Doodle 18# such a little comedian; River 2 yr the daddy, baby/maker/10# our AKC miniature Poodle; & Honey-Pie our AKC 8# Maltese 4 yr girl the lap puppy. My pets are non-shedding breeds because I don't like hair on things & I have allergies. We breed 1 litter of miniGoldenDoodles & 1 MaltePoos yearly. Ron said 'no keeping a puppy' from Sundae's last litter, but I kept MeeMee because she looked just like her daddy when he was a puppy. I bought River down the street from Barb Cady's/(tops) home 2 summers ago :) I mentioned being in tops & the breeder she said she knew Barb & she lived right over there :o It's a small world. Hey, we have sold miniGoldenDoodle puppies to several families in Ohio, over the years & when we meet them to get their puppy I fall in love w their southern accents. It reminds me of my childhood; & I get a dum smile on my face when they speak to me. Do I sound like fool or a jerk to you now....

We know Mandy has a kitty, it's her new pic here :)

Carri & Susie, my dh & I walk the Mackinaw Bridge (5 miles across, yrly) come up & try it some year. It's a very nice area, tourism & camping r great up there. Do u have a camper/tent? Have you ever been in Northern MI ? We used to go to Cedar Pointe, Kings Island to ride the coasters & Sea World in Ohio w our sons. Were you ever in Oprah's audience in Illinois, I tried for tickets for years & never got tickets to see her in person :( I miss her shows.

DH is chopping veggies & chicken breast to grill us kabobs, so I have to go make a marinade now. Strawberry shortcake is my fruit, so I'm OP w all my essentials :p

Going to b a different Sunday night 8pm-11pm....No more: Amazing Race, Once Upon A Time, or Desperate Housewives. I don't watch crime shows w dh or This Old House reruns. Maybe I'll come online & go shopping :dizzy:

Luv, Dee

See ya tomorrow~ Carri, Susie, Mandy, Cassie, Mel, Liz & Arabella :grouphug:
