Annie - so glad that your little monkey is home now where he belongs. And I'm glad you are bursting with the happiness you so righteously deserve.
Laura - I have not tried them yet - sort of afaid to - but they do make some sort of throw in the laundry cloths that are supposed to absorb colors that bleed and keep them from running on to the other clothes.
I am getting more and more pissed off with the movers. They just slammed stuff into boxes and mismarked things. For the life of me I don't understand - they packed lamp parts in 3 different boxes. I have lamp bases and lamp shades but only God knows where the harps are that connect the lamps to the shades so that is quite useless. and they did that to ALL of my lamps. I think they did it on purpose. DH found his computer monitor he was looking for in a box marked attic storage. It's starting to rain pretty hard out here. All the empty boxes I'm pitching on the deck are getting soaked, I'd better go move them.
Thought I might just show you my glorious Poinciana tree - all decked out for summer and the Christmas season. This show should go on for the next month or so. I love this tree. Like the Jacaranda and the Illawarra Flametree it really sets off late spring and summer. Also my Frangipani has finally burst into bloom and its perfume is delightful.
Annie - on lil monkey coming home. So glad you finally got the parcel for which I had to $9 American IRS taxes to get there. So when did we become the 51st State? May well have been easier to bring it over myself. No not really, thinking about it. Putting up with Homeland security is worse. I've never met such a bunch of rude people in all my life and that is saying something. Doesn't do your tourist trade any good that is for sure - sorry FO SHO. Anyway, hope Sam likes the stuff and I bet he gets to wear the wee white Christmas one at Christmas. I was looking for a soft toy, but that may have to wait until I get home to NZ, 'cos what I have in mind is truly Kiwi.
Happy - when we had all our boxes (due to renovations and DS2 shifting home) we just put them out (flattened) on the curbside with a sign saying help yourself. A few minutes later one of DS2s mates rung to say they were shifting and did we have any (apparently ringing around all the friends) so we rushed out the front to find only about 4 or 5 left already. Cute looking bear in your yard! Sorry, just read it again, not in your yard.
Ceejay - Hope you are enjoying being with the family for a while. Sleeping on the couch can be fun.
Laura - Raining again? At least it keeps the snow and ice away. Our rains are interesting because they come in the summer and make everything grow twice as fast. Doesn't always make for good summer gardening tho'. Glad to hear you enjoyed TG with family and friends
Michelle - hope you have not had a relapse and are lying in pain.
Mel - What am I going to do with you? The toes are on the end of your foot to stop the legs from fraying. They need looking after. Perhaps you need a footbath to alternatively warm up and cool off the tootsies.
Anyway, I had better go and get on with my day. It's a beaut one out there. I need to weed, feed and mulch the rose garden this morning before gym and then get stuck into the spare room for a while. Then I might just go car hunting. Time to move it.
Good Morning/Evening Everyone....thought I would post now as Baby boy and GF are coming to town to see baby Jake. We are all meeting over at sis's house around 2 pm.
Shaddie...OMGoodness the beauty of your trees, flowers and such and right outside your door. I think I might just sit on the porch with a cup of tea and take in the beauty. You are an amazing, smart woman Shad, so very talented in so many ways. Thank you again for the baby gifts, I will be taking them over with me this afternoon...and you bet the little man is going to be decked out in his Christmas onesie you sent...especially cause it refers to Grandma!
HAPPY...Yikes, Da Bears<--- (Laura's behalf), not sure I want to open my back door and see that. Heck Hella B scares me enough..lol. I hate to say it, but mover's really do not care about other's treasures. This may be one of those times when it would of been better to JUST DO IT MYSELF! To much work and time consuming however. Hope you find all the parts to make at least one lamp work correctly. Hugs and may the force be with you...
LAURA...yeah, so much for the nice weather..rain today, tomorrow and Tuesday with possible S on Tuesday night. Blah! Falling temps throughout today...was 62 at midnight last night, falling into the low 40's by 5 pm tonight. Without wishing our lives away, I would just rather fast forward to spring.
CHELLE...must be enjoying the DMILs arrival and eating too much turkey...food coma? Hope your weekend has been a sweet one! Hugs.
CEEJAY...hope your family visit is rockin'. Enjoy your time with the fam!
MELLIE...hey girl..hope you are doing better and your TG was grand! Sending you many hugs and lots of love.
Better get busy and plan out my day. Taking leftovers to sissy's house so she doesn't have to cook much this next week. Just enjoy the babe.
Have a wonderful Sunday/Monday all..thanks again for all your love, support and prayers...These past 5 1/2 weeks, since the lil monkey arrived have been a bit stressful for everyone, but it is smooth sailing now.
Annie
So glad that the lil man got to come home. I'm happy for the whole family.
Shad
The beauty of those tree's. We are entering winter so keep those gorgeous flowers coming.
Happy I know you'll find more disappointing things when you get to unpack those boxes. Hang in there, a little each day and you will be through before you know it.

The picture of the black bear was adorable but I would hate to meet up with him/her. I fully understand why you don't keep food outside.

I've had a busy morning. I've had two small outages and one call from the police department and one from the fire department. Most Sunday's are boring--not today.
Exhausted after a long weekend. Most of the shopping is done (at least the stuff that has to be mailed), and most of the wrapping is done. I'm sore and exhausted. The soreness is now at the the procedure site, not the places I hurt before, and after laying down for about 20 minutes on an ice bag, the soreness subsides.
I'm relaxing and watching football...and I feel like I could fall asleep right now.
Annie - I'm so glad lil Jake got to go home! I'll bet Sam and Chris are over the moon with happiness!! It must've been sooo nice for you to have your son, his GF visiting to see the lil guy.
Happy - A bear??? I could deal with a fox in my backyard...not a bear! I'm glad it wasn't your backyard, but i guess it just as easily could've been. What a great photo!
Shad - Beautiful poinciana tree!!
Mel - I'm glad all's well in your world. I hope your feet are feeling better. Yowza! That must hurt like !!
Ceejay - Sometimes busy days are good...makes the time go faster.
Laura - Good for you for all the exercising! I'm so impressed and inspired by you!!
Back at work on a Monday morning. Glad I am only working half days still. I could do with the extra money but then again...... it's fun getting home at 1.00 in the afternoon and having all afternoon to do what I want. Sure fixes the housework in little doses.
No personals at the moment. We have a project meeting coming up. Seems we are all to get a holiday over Christmas and New Year. I was having one anyway so that makes life better. Not long to go now until I go to NZ. 2 full weeks and a couple of days. Guess I need to get sorted for that. Better figure out what the weather will do.
MORNING EVERYONE.
TIME TO GET MY BUTT IN GEAR AND HEAD FOR THE OFFICE.
MAYBE GET DONE EARLY AND LEAVE QUICK!
SUNDAY WAS SILENT AND IT FELT GREAT.
NOTHING NEW HERE.
HAVE A MAGNIFICENT MONDAY/TUESDAY
CEEJAY......YOUR SUNDAY WAS INDEED A BUSY ONE.
HOPE IT CALMED DOWN LATER ON.

ANNIE....GLAD THE SORENESS IS ONLY AT THE SITE.
HOPING EVERYTHING GOES WELL AND DH IS FEELING BETTER SOON TOO.
HAPPY WRAPPING!
SHAD....DON'T KNOW WHAT POWERPOINT IS BUT I'LL HATE IT TOO....JUST FOR YOU
BETTER BEGIN PACKING AND I HOPE THE WEATHER WILL BE GOOD.
OH...WHAT AM I SAYING. IT'S SHORTS & A BATHING SUIT TIME!!!
I FORGOT FOR A MOMENT THERE
HALF DAYS AFTER THE VACATION TOO?? ENJOY THEM WHILE THEY'RE HERE.
Shad- nice to end the year w/ half days & time off!! Beautiful tree & flower!
Happy- Sorry the movers did such a horrible job of packing. Have you gotten the paperwork taken care of for insurance, etc? OMG, I'd be scared to go outside with bears hanging around!!!!
Mel- Glad all was quiet in the building yesterday.
Ceejay - at least your day probably went faster!
Michelle - Sounds like a tiring weekend, but productive. Glad the. Shots have brought relief.
Hi Annie!
---
Nothing much to report. Finished a book yesterday, and started the book club book. Very funny. Did some laundry yesterday & that's about it, aside from a dogwalk, tv, and reading. Very lazy.
This morning I'll do a cardio DVD in the basement. Might drop off some items for a charity donation, and get those pillows to the laundromat. Might go out to lunch w/ bf & his mom today.
I'm doing a little better today. Hardly limping at all, which is significantly better than prior to the procedure. For some weird reason, I'm still having pain go from the far left side of my back/hip and down my leg to my knee and shin. For now, I'm chalking it up to some very intense muscle spasms down my left leg that I had during the procedure but couldn't do anything about as I had to lay perfectly still. After the procedure and after the anesthesia wore off, the pain down my leg was nearly unbearable. It's much better today, but still sore (like I overdid stairs or a workout or something).
Not sure if we have any plans for tonight...I may take DMIL to the Library, but more than likely, I'll continue with wrapping and boxing presents so we can get them shipped off. DH has a couple computers in the living room that he has to finish fixing before we have room for Christmas decorations. He knows that both DMIL and I are anxious to get on the decorating, so he's trying to make fast work of the fixes.
I'm hoping my doctor's office calls SOON! I want to get the radio frequency ablation (RFA) procedure done on my right side before my insurance changes at the end of the year. But before I can get the RFA procedure, I need to have TWO diagnostic procedures where they numb the area with novacaine/lidocaine or something like that...if I get relief for 4 hours...then they can tell that the RFA procedure will help me. They repeat the numbing diagnostic procedure to make sure the first results weren't a fluke. I would VERY MUCH like to start 2012 off with little or no pain and greatly increased mobility and activity levels.
I know y'all probably think I'm crazy for having the procedure repeated on the right side...but if it can bring my total back pain down from a 8 (on a scale of 1 to 10) to even a 2, 3 or 4...then it's worth it. And if I can get it done under my current insurance which pays 100% of the procedure...then I say it's worth a try. I just hope I can get all the tests and the procedure done ASAP.

Happy - I'm so sorry to hear that the movers were so disorganized and careless! The friends and family members who helped us were more organized that that...and they didn't charge us a dime! I hope you're able to find some way to dispose of your boxes. Do you have Freecycle or Craigs List up there? We are fortunate that even though we live in the country (though we aren't nearly as rural as you are now), we have recycling pickup every week with the garbage collection.
Annie - Can't believe you actually had to cut the grass over the weekend! That's crazy! DH mulched the leaves one last time and then winterized the lawnmower, putting it away in the shed with the patio furniture on top of it. We won't be seeing it again until April or May. I'm so glad that the baby, momma and daddy are all doing well! Lots of love and hugs to everyone there!
Mel - Now that the toes are lovely shades of black and blue, it won't be long before they turn greenish and yellow (Green Bay Packer colors - just kidding - ). I'm glad the seniors all got their dinners.
Laura - What a great idea to make pouches out of lens cleaner cloth for your bike computers! I was going to ask you about "The Stupidest Angel" book...I have it on hold at the Library and just have to go pick it up. So you have the day off today? How wonderful!! Sounds like you have a productive day planned! Good on ya'!
Shad - Must be lovely to only work half days. I can just imagine all I could accomplish around the house. But the checkbook and lenders say I have to work full time. I'll bet you're excited to go back to NZ for the holidays. I hate Powerpoint too. Luckily, I don't have to work with it too often.
Well here we are at Tuesday and all it well - so far. I'm still on half days except they are really not half days since I get here at 6.30am and leave at 12.00pm or thereabout. So I am still doing 5.5 to 6 hours. Since a professional day is somewhere between 8.5 and 10 hours I am charging the project at 3 half days and 2 full days for one week and 3 full days and 2 half days the next. It works out okay. I won't be working any half days after New Year.
I only hate powerpoint because of the way that project people use it for training. It's a good program and should be used for making important points (hence the name) and not a full scale overblown 200 slide manual. It's boring.
Mel - Glad to hear you had a quiet Sunday and hope Monday wasn't to hard. How are the toes going. Have you got black and blue, or yellow and purple?
Ceejay - I don't get paid for the 3 weeks that I will get off at Christmas. It is one of the joys of being self employed. You get paid higher to cover the time when you don't work.
Laura - You just reminded me that I have a couple of bags of clothing to drop off and it will be nice to get them out of the house. DS2 has a big job to do when he gets back going through the rest of his stuff. I don't believe he has ever thrown a thing out in all his days. Some of the stuff he brought back from Thailand have yet to be taken out of the case and he has run out of room in his wardrobe and drawers.
Michelle - I'm glad to hear that the procedure is slowly working. I hope you didn't go to the store on Black Friday. From our news here, it sounds like a real to do. Shooting, pepper spray, trampling, fighting - the veneer of civilisation is very, very thin.
I don't think you are nuts having a second procedure done. Whatever it takes to get the pain level down for the least amount of money. One thing about the health care system is that nothing seems to get any cheaper as do other technological advances. They just cost more and more. Maybe our priorities are wrong.
Anyway, I better get on with my day. Have a huge powerpoint presentation here to vet and change around. Maybe it is me, but sometimes I think it would be better to just print it out single sided, and spread it across the floor and sort it out that way. Looking at it on screen is not always fun.
