Our doctor wants DH to get another shot in his back, since they are helping his knee. So DH scheduled the appointment for the same time as my procedure since he has to be there anyway as my driver. He's not having anesthesia like I am, so he'll still be able to drive us both home. It'll mean for a very simple Thanksgiving dinner...but that's okay with us. Our friends called to remind us about the annual Thanksgiving Eve poker party, but due to our procedures, we'll have to miss it. DH and I figured out a plan of attack for this weekend so we can finish the cleaning and the outside "W" prep.
I brought my cane and TENS unit to work today to help with the back pain and getting around.

Ceejay - Bummer that R isn't doing very well at work. Sounds like you'll have a great time on Thanksgiving with your relatives! Do you get any extra time off for Thanksgiving or just Thanksgiving Day? The weather does play a bit of a role in my back pain...but not as much of a role as overdoing it. Keeping my fingers
that the rain doesn't cause any major flooding problems. Laura - I need to get most of my shopping done in the next couple weeks as nearly all the gifts have to get shipped to CA. Thankfully, there are a few gifts that don't have to be purchased just before Christmas. Everyone here in Packerland is THRILLED that our team is doing so well! We're all hoping for an undefeated season, of course, but we also realize we have some tough opponents coming up. I'm glad you'll be spending the holidays with your bf's brother and SIL. The first holidays without a loved one are so difficult. Good that your gyne appt went well. Which class did you end up going to? Torture or Feel Good?
Mel - I love granny square bedspreads! The colors of Jen's bedspread sound lovely. If you start back up with the project, don't overdo it.
Annie - Thanks for the box of books and Humana shirts. The shirts don't fit me or DH, but I'll let DMIL try them, and if they don't fit her, then I will offer them to some friends. I'm glad to hear that Tater Tot is getting bigger. Sending love, hugs and prayers that he'll breathe correctly and regularly very soon. This has to be so rough on Sam (and on you).
I was a preemie and had to stay in the hospital 6 or 8 weeks before they let me come home. At least with Lil Jake in the hospital, he is being constantly monitored and they can act right away when his breathing goes awry. I know you and Sam want him to come home...but he is getting the best possible care, right? I can only imagine how difficult this is for everyone. I wish there were something I could do other than offer prayers and love. Shad - I hope work is going well for you. There's no retirement or semi-retirement in my foreseeable future...unless I win the lottery.
On that note, I'd better get back to doing what they pay me for.
Love and hugs to all,

What else do you and dh have to do?
Tonight bf and I might go to the movies. We’ll see. I also have to get to the library to pick up the next book club book, which is The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror by Christopher Moore. And if you are wondering what this is about, here are the “user tags” I copied and pasted from my library’s catalog listing for this title:

GOOD MORNING CHICKS

For winter prep, we still have more leaves to mulch with the riding mower (and the tree in the front yard is still covered in leaves).
Once we don't need the riding mower anymore, we put it in the shed and place the patio furniture on top of it. We've already disconnected our hoses and turned off the water to the spigots. And then, there's cleaning and website work. Oh well, we're all busy...I just need to figure out how to manage my time (and back pain) better.
I hope uPerform is performing better.
