Hi,

Well, I weighed myself this morning and it was 131.8 with no clothes on. I weigh less in the morning so I am probably still about 132. For the past three weeks I have not been good about eating---lots of cheating with snacks, chocolate, late night eating, little exercise.

Ok I need to get motivated again. Here are my mini-goals for March.

1. Get the junk food out of the house!
2. In the morning try to figure out my meals for the day--breakfast toast with jam, turkey pita for lunch, dinner small amount of chicken, lots of veggies and now for the worst part--snacks, need one chocolate a day, salty stuff pretzels or popcorn.
3. Exercise, walk more, do some heavy house cleaning or snow shoveling, yoga.
4. Get the right mindset. Motivate myself every friday weigh-in with a special treat if I lost weight.
5. Mini goal by end of march to weigh 125. That is seven pounds in four weeks--about 2 pounds per week. If I could do that I would be so happy! That would mean 15 pounds to go until June and my goal weight of 110.

The boy scout pine wood derby is tonight so we are busy this weekend . Hopefully, I can post again on Saturday.

Yipee, I am not at the boy scout meeting tonight! Jake and I are still sick(sort of) so my husband took Jimmy to the meeting tonight and I am now home trying not to eat those darn Pringles that Jake is munching on right NOW.

I was thinking that the list of the ten little known things about us was fun last week. Maybe this week we could list a few of our favorite things...I 'll go first.

TOP TEN FAVORITE THINGS

1. book- Wurthering Heights, Little Prince

2. dinner- a creamy chicken pasta dish, with lots of warm bread with butter, and for dessert chocolate cheesecake with berries.

3. vacation location- a warm beach and a nice hotel resort

4. photo- my two boys on the beach

5. movie- Gone with the Wind, When Harry met Sally

6. Tv show- HGTV shows and antique roadshow

7. season- spring (every thing is new)

8. type of music- old jazz... ella fitzgerald, billy holiday

9. day of the week- Sunday ..family day

10. hobbies - gardening, eating junk food, painting, decorating

Hi Everyone!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted. I've been reading your posts, just haven't had time to write. I lost a pound this week, so I am now 139. YEA! I have gotten back into the exercise mode and am eating better, but I still have trouble eating after 8. People have been complimenting me on my weight loss, and that really helped to get me motivated again.

Debee, have you tried the fat free Pringles? They're low in calories and are good when you get those munchies. And for those of you who like iced capaccino, Try putting a cup of skim milk and a few ice cubes in a blender with about 2T Cafe Vienna (or any flavor you like) International Coffee. Use the one that is fat / sugar free and blend until cold. It's really good and only about 115 calories.

We just came back from the Highschool baseball game. Kibitzing with everyone reminded me why I love living in a small southern town. Everyone is so friendly, and I love talking to the kids and hearing them answer everything with 'yes m'am' or 'no m'am. The city may have a whole lot more culture and night life, but I'll take the country every time.

Well, if it doesn't rain tomorrow, Bryan and I are are riding our motorcycles to a ride-in breakfast and then meeting some friends to do a 12 mile bicycle ride. <y butt is hurting all ready!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Well, I was right...I blew it this week. Scales showed I am up 1.5 lbs I refuse to let that happen again this next week. I'm making a vow to ya'll and to myself, next Friday will show a loss!
On a better note, tho, all of sudden today probably 5 people asked how much weight I've lost and how I'm doing it. It's like after all this time, they just realized it. Isnt that strange how I've been losing since Oct and this week, I gain a little and finally they notice the weightloss.. I have to admit all the comments helped me get motivated again tho.

Hey Debee, have you tried the FatFree Pringles? They come in plain and SourCream&Onion. Calories are around 70 for 15 chips and zero fat. Chips are one of my biggest downfalls so if I just have to have some, those are the kind I've been buying lately. As far as the chocolate cravings, I buy the individual cups of fat free pudding. One is around 50 calories, I think.

Cyan, glad to hear your mom is getting her rest now with the new medicine. That has got to be a big relief for you also. Altho you didnt lose any lbs this week, maintaining is an accomplishment with all you have to deal with. You must be doing better about not stress eating!

Taiwan, I'm not a morning person either. My husband and youngest son are tho and they drive Josh and me crazy! I'm much more likely to exercise at nite but it's hard because by that time, I cant seem to conjure up the energy to do it lately. This working 5 days a week isnt what I consider "part-time", but I just cant seem to say NO. (doesnt help that my mother-in-law is one of my bosses lol) I know she's snowed under so I feel bad if I dont help her out.

Here are some of my favorite things:

Rollercoasters

Thunderstorms

Book-"To Kill a Mockingbird"

Movies-any of the "ugly duckling gets prince charming" types like While You Were Sleeping, Bed of Roses, Princess Diaries, etc. (also love old ones like Shirley Temple's Little Princess)

Music- Phil Collins, Chicago, Elton John, Journey, most soft rock

Food- Chicken Fettucini Alfredo

Dessert- coconut cake ( the refrigerated kind with cream of coconut, eagle brand milk, and coolwhip )

Chatting/Surfing on the computer

Shopping

Favorite place to vacation-- Branson, Missouri (dream is to go to Hawaii some day tho...I'm sure it would beat out Branson )

Day- Friday...TGIF!! (even when I have to work on Sat, Friday still makes me feel better)

Well, I do have to work tomorrow so I guess I better go now. Everyone, have a good weekend!!

Lady, I took so long typing mine that in the meantime, you had also posted. Didnt mean to leave you out. The bike ride sounds fun but 12 miles? I KNOW my butt would be hurting! I had a pain just reading that..lol Great minds think alike huh? Funny we both mentioned those Pringles. I also love living in a small southern town and my kids love their school. We're in the middle of opposing Gov. Huckabee's bill that will force us to consolidate so that all districts will have at least 1500 students. Our school right now has only 300 or less, and it's one of the reasons we chose it. All of the students, k-12, are a close-knit bunch. Will be sad to lose that but unfortunately, we seem to be headed that way. Guess we'll see what happens.

Hi Everybody!

We woke to thunderstorms this morning, so no bike riding. We lazed around, went to Wal-mart and took an afternoon nap instead. A pretty good day, all told.

It was hard to narrow this list down, but here are some of my favorite things:

Bryan – it’s corny, but he’s the best thing in my life

A good book on a rainy day

Kittens and puppies

My children and grandkids

Movie – it’s a tie between Fried Green Tomatoes and Boys on the Side. But Men in Black 1 & 2 were cool too.

Book – Illusions, The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach

Music – Chicago, Willie Nelson, Louis Armstrong, Elvis (his just home from the service period) and Rod Stewart. And anything with a bluesy-jazz sound.

Foods – milk chocolate covered cherries with the liquid center and ice cream with lots of stuff in it.

Meeting my friend Nancy for lunch, talking, shopping, dessert, and more talking

I love the lonesome whistle of a train in the distance

Fun Memory – sitting in the engineer’s seat and blowing the whistle on a train.

The song of a Mockingbird in the spring

Well, I could go on and on, but that's enough for now. LOL

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Hi, I just got home but I just had to tell you guys about what happened. It was so strange! I talked my husband into going to Olive Garden tonight. Ever since I posted my favorite dinner last night of creamy pasta chicken I have been craving it. Well, we ordered a big bottle of wine, I made sure that I did not eat alot of breadsticks and then my dinner came. It was great. I knew it was loaded with calories but...I kept eating it. Then I was telling my husband about how I just wrote on this website how this would be my favorite dinner. I mentioned how bad I have been for the past few weeks and then started talking about my WAWA story (remember about the sub and the pretzel) well, I took another bite and then another and then I the third bite I found a bolt *yes, a very large screw in my dinner. I was about to bite into it when I saw it. The tables next to me even thought it was very strange. It was huge. The waitress and manager came over and come to find out it came from the the sauce mixer. They gave us a free dinner but I only got 4 bites of my dinner probably less than 200 calories (we did get a free dinner because the manager said this never happened before). My husband who is very rational even said this was very strange ...given our conversation moments before me eating a SCREW! Thank God I did not break my tooth.

I must admit that usually Ido not believe in fate but...this was strange. Well, tonight I drank my calories instead of eating them. The good news is last time (the WAWa incident) that this happened I did lose 4 pounds and it did jump start my diet. May be I just need divine intervention to lose weight??? LOL. Oh, well just a funny story to report and kind of strange too. I am a little edrunk writing this so it might not make much sense but it was so weird.

Hi

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I just got home from the movies. Phil and the kids watched "Daredevil" while my sis and I went to "How to lose a Guy in 10 Days." It was pretty cute...a chick flick...my fav.kind of movie. lol

My calories so far for today are under 600 including the buttered popcorn my sis and I shared so not bad so far. Went to church this morning and didnt have time for breakfast, then had Progresso chicken and rice soup for lunch. Drank water with the soup and Diet Coke with the popcorn. I have a bad sore throat so that may be it for today. The soup helped a little but that's about the only thing I could think of that wouldnt hurt my throat. Oh, forgot, I also had one serving of fat free tapioca pudding. Anyway, so far, this week is starting out well foodwise. I am determined to show a loss this Friday.

Debee, I cannot believe you found a screw in your food!! Very strange indeed! lol I can see how that could help you lose your appetite.

Lady, you werent corny. Phil is my favorite 'thing' too....I just wasnt thinking peoplewise in my list.

Cyan, Lisa, Taiwan, Reina....how is your weekend going? Anyone do anything exciting? Looking forward to hearing from ya'll.

Cjunk, Betty, and Annie....really miss ya'll. Hope you are able to get back very soon.

Well, I'm going to hit the couch now. Beginning to get a headache on top of having the sore throat. Ya'll have a good Monday!

Angry Good Morning Ladies

Its Monday morning and very frosty out there..its -40 celcius with wind chill....argh!

The weekend went pretty well...both saturday and sunday, I ate below 1500 cals and below 50 grams of fat...so food wise I stayed on track. I didnt do any cycling just heavy housecleaning and walking outside.

I am still recovering from my sinus cold and just yesterday stopped my cold medication.

My Mom is sleeping better on her new meds and is more agreeable...she didnt complain too much when I gave her a bath and she also agreed to go to the hairdressers to get her hair done.

Oh I finally saw my Big Fat Greek Wedding...it was okay..I guess all the hype ruined it for me...it did have some funny moments though but a little too contrived and fairytalish..oh well.

Debee...yikes on the screw in your food...thank goodness you didnt bite down on it...your teeth would have suffered.

Miki...sorry to hear about your sore throat..feel better soon. And good to hear that you are back on track with food consumption.

Well..in seven months, we will all meet up in Chicago...so lets get going with this weight loss...yay!

So my goal for this month is to be down to 163 pounds...that 4 ppounds of weight loss...I am excited about this..I am tired of hovering over the 168-167 mark..its time to break the seal and move on down.

Okay girls..looking forward to hearing from you soon and have a great monday

Good Morning!

I had a good week; exercised 5x and kept my average daily calories at 1130. I lost my 1 pound this week, so if I behave myself, 138 is right around the corner! Boy it feels good to be in the 130's!! When I was visiting my sister in MN last November, she gave me a size 12 jeans that were too big for her. I told her to hang on to her 10's 'cause I was coming up to get them next. Well .... I have given away all my size 12 pants, so I am now officially a size 10!

Cyan, I'm so glad your mom is doing better. It's good to hear your calories and fat grams are back in control and I give you real credit for not over doing it during the last rough weeks. I'm glad you reminded us our Chicago Adventure is only 7 months away; It will help to keep us focused! Are you going to ride your bike tonight?

Debee - Your screw story was a riot. Boy "someone" is determined to help you succeed! LOL

Miki - I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Hopefully you will lose a couple of extra pounds so your misery won't be for naught.

Lisa, how is school?
Taiwan, How are you?
Cjunk, are you still swimming?
Reina - where are you?
Annie, we miss you. Hope you're feeling up to reading and posting again soon.

It's a dreary cloudy day and I was going to clean carpets, but I'm feeling lazy so I think I'll watch Home Improvement shows instead. Maybe that will motivated me.

Hello girls! Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I had subscribed to this post so that anytime someone posted I would get an e-mail, but I guess the subscription ran out. I re-subscribed so here I am.

Well, this past week, I stayed the same in the weight-loss department. As for exercising, I haven't done any. I did, however, submit my financial aid application to the YMCA and should hear back in about 2 weeks. I really need to get this body moving.

School is going okay. I'm still a little overwhelmed but I think by the end of the semester, I'll have gotten the hang of things.

Well, I have studying to do, so I will come back later!

mariette, I saw that you had said hi on IM but I was too late in responding and I missed you. Sorry!!!!!

Default I am still here...

well, I don't have alot of time to write as I am waiting for the potatoes to finish cooking, almost done I think. Ok, all, guess what I did...... I joined ediets!! I just need a plan, need something to help me with this eating. They don't have that type of stuff here without using the national insurance and going to the hospital. BUT they only speak Chinese, and this type of thing, I prefer speaking English, KWIM? anyway, they gave me a menu plan for the week, can choose alot of stuff or my own meal and access their recipes too. If I don't like it after 10 weeeks, I can cancel.
I did exercise today 10min legs/arms and 10min buns. It wasn't aerobics, but still worked up a sweat. I am getting back into things I am back at 190---not where I wanted to be but such is life. Well, Josiah is chewing on some electric cords, better get him. Sorry I didn't have time to write personal things to everyone. I will try later. Hope to be able to give a good report on the 10th--my weigh in date at ediets.
