Miki You Go Girl!! You Rock!
5lbs!! That is awesome!
Debee, I am glad to hear you are feeling better, and that you are overcoming all that anxiety! We missed that snow storm again! and I cancelled my Valentine's Plans for nothing, I didn't even get 1/4 inch of snow by my house!!!
Debee, I am so with you about no eating after 8. I forgot about that and was concentrating on my points.
Thanks for the pics, You have an adorable family!
Lisa, I am glad to hear from you. I daydream about the future all the time, with me being a svelt Size 8. Then I realize how hard it will be to get there, and I say, why can't I be happy with myself now! Because, like you, I know we have all the potential in the world to be tru to our hearts! So I am right there with you! Together we will be THIN!!!!1
Cyan!
Congratulations, I knew you were going to lose this week! You have been doing great and I know you are the exercise .
You keep up the good work!!
Lady,
Your consistency in losing weekly, is so my dream! I keep telling myself, If I don't lose, it is ok, but I can't gain anymore.
When Flav started to notice me losing, it was the best feeling in the world! I am sure Bryan new side will be so enjoyable! What a sweetheart he is not to sabotage you with a box of chocolates. Because you know, when they give you chocolates, it is required that you eat them
I know I didn't have a problem eating my chocolate covered Strawberries!!!
Well, I was on track Friday with points, actually I was under, becuase we didn't even eat dinner that night!. But Saturday, I still have to calculate. We went to Lone Star Steak house last night and I had BBQ chicken, with a baked Sweet potato, that was out of this world!
But I also had 3 hot wings, 1/2 of my salad and 2 slices of bread. I am afraid to look at what my points were.
I started my morning out with 1/4 cup of egg beaters, with 1 flour tortilla!
We are going to see Blues Clues Live tonight, so I am hoping we won't go to dinner first. I might just cook before we go! Save me some points! My husbands want to get the families together tonight to go bowling, since there is no school tomorrow! Can you say a day full of junk food! I THINK NOT!!!
We are snowed in. A blazing fire, two fighting kids and a sleeping husband on the couch...not exactly the romantic version of being snowed in.
Valentines night was very nice, my husband bought me flowers, bath products and yoga workout clothes. He also bought me 8 small chocolate heart candies (now there is only 4). Foodwise I did ok today, some mindless eating (handful of nachos, four choclate candies, few cookies) but healthy choices too, chicken salad, carrots with hummus. I am really trying this week to change my attitude and get motivated again. No more excuses to myself.
I was a sea slug today. Stayed in my pj's all day and did not leave the house. I did clean up the playroom a little so I feel like I accomplished something.
one thought that I had that is helping me fight the food battle is this saying"small choices, big changes" for some reason it is helping me to avoid that extra cookie... small choice not to eat... to look forward to the big change in my weight to come.
Well, I am sure that tomorrow with the kids and hubby home I will be going crazy so I will post more individual notes to everyone.
Sorry I didnt have time to come in and post today except for this quick one. Been working on taxes. Almost finished then heading to bed. No exercise this weekend and not great with the eating but thats normal for the weekend. Tomorrow I have the day off so I will have no excuse finding time for that Air Walker. Talk to ya'll again soon!
Well, the weekend was----a weekend. We are always so busy with church stuff that our schedules are totally out of whack. I tried to be good, and did for the most part. Didn't exercise, but then again, not too uncommon for a weekend. I did weigh myself on Sat. morning and it said I lost a pound. Anyway, I want to be down to 185lbs by my birthday in a few weeks. That will put me at my weight the day I found out I was pregnant (jeez! haven't been that weight for quite sometime now ) Anyway, that is my goal.
I did exercise today and my day has been so much better because of it. I did kick and jab for 20min and then arm toning for 10. I think I may do kick and jab every other day (or order some more DVD's to break up the routine) and the days I don't do the kick and jab do 20-30min of abs/butt exercises. Anyway, gotta do something.
Miki----Wow!!! you are my hero girl!! 5lbs. See, it paid off. So what else did you do? just exercise? I like Lady's "loser" thing. This is a great time to be a "loser", one of a different kind. Think about how much you've lost and then weigh out that much meat and see what a difference it makes. Keep on going on. Quite the inspiration.
Reina--you are too!! another 1.6lbs. WOW!!!!!! I wish we had WW here, but they don't have them here in Taiwan. When hubby starts to notice, then you know others are noticing too. Keep up the good work.
Cyan-- yup, it eventually paid off. Maybe now you are off that plateau and the weight will come off easier. Keep it up. You are always so encouraging to the rest of us.
Lady-- that was nice of your men to not want to sabatoge your weight loss (though we know that a little chocolate isn't going to kill us!!) That's great getting the positive comments. Really makes you feel worthwhile doesn't it.
Lisa--I always imagine myself thin, like I was in college (or should I say before I got married and had 2 kids ). My figure then will never come back, though I can probably get most of it back. These hips got even wider during the last pregnancy. They say here that wide hips make delivering babies easier. Well, I had to have a c/section for Josiah, so my "buffalo butt" didn't help me. Now, just to get rid of it I think we all imagine ourselves thin. But, it's good to imagine as long as it doesn't control us. Gaining 2lbs, ah, it'll come off quickly. Just don't let it get you down. As for others who are overweight and happy, you don't know how they feel deep down. Just take it one step at a time.
Debee--glad to hear things are going to be more focused this week. I have been trying to think so positively this past week end, really psyche myself up for this week and how I am going to lose weight. I know I can do it and you can too. So, is the 5th worst snowstorm in history over yet? My parents called and said they had a foot of snow and it was going to snow for 12 more hours. Glad I am not "locked" in the house with my parents, sister, hubby and two boys. I would kill someone for sure!!! I remember in college when on Christmas break and we had 3feet of snow. Being stuck with your family for 3days is NOT FUN!!!! Well, hang in there and don't throw anyone out
Booger butt is sleeping. I did my exercise this morning while he was sleeping. I have to teach my ESL class tonight. I will probably post more tomorrow. Have a great one ladies.
I went to see Adaptation with nicolas cage yesterday...it was very good...loved it...nicolas cage definately deserves an oscar nomination if not an oscar..but I havent seent the other movies...actually, all the actors were supberb! Must see.
I did ok this weekend food wise...saturday was very good at 1569 cals..fat grams were high at 69 grams..yikes....sunday...calorie wise was 1846...I had chocolate at the movies and 84 grams of fat...now its time to be good all the week. I exercised both saturday and sunday doing hard core cleaning...vacuuming, laundry and the such...what a workout.
Well Ladies...glad to hear that we are all on track and looking forward to a week of losing...YAY lets do it.
Also, I have been pretty good about not eating after 8pm...I think I managed that 5 nights out of the 7 this past week.
Today is my weigh in day, and I am down 1 lb and 1 1/2 inches. I lost 1/2 inch from each thigh and from my hips. I looked back on the chart I keep and this makes 8 consecutive weeks I have lost a pound!
What I did right:
Exercised 5 days
Kept a positive attitude
drank more water
counted the calories [I]before [/]I put them in my mouth.
I can't emphasize this last one enough. If you count them after you've eaten, and they are higher than you thought, you can't do anything about it. If you count calories or points before you put it in your mouth, then you are in control and can decide whether to eat it or not.
What I will do better:
Not eat after 8. This is a real stickler for me, but I'm going to keep trying.
Taiwan - Good or you! Kick and jab and then toning exercises! Keep this up and you will meet that goal for sure.
Hey girls! How is everyone. Sounds like most of you are really doing well on the losing thing. As for me, I am really getting in there. I had to write a paper for class about a health problem I have that I need to change, how I'm going to do it, and all that stuff. Of course, mine was: Imbalanced Nutrition: More than body requirements. It was a two page paper and it had to include a plan for the next two months. My goal was to lose 2 pounds a week for the next 8 weeks. My interventions are to keep a food diary and a list of rewards among other things. I'm really kind of excited and I know I can do it. Then, our lecture today was on Nutrition. It was so informative! It's very nice to hear it from a medical point of view instead of all these weight loss programs out there. It really just laid the facts out there. Did you know that Mr. Atkins from the Atkins diet had a heart attack this year???? The Atkins diet, while it really works, it so unhealthy for you! Anyway, I learned a lot and I'm really going to start losing.
Today, so far, I've had a slim fast for breakfast, a banana for a snack during class, a 6 inch veggie sub from Subway, 10 cheetos and some smart pop popcorn. I've also had 2 diet dr peppers, one with caffeine and one without. I really need to work on my water consumption. It is the bodies most important nutrient!!! I will not have anymore pop today until I have 48 oz of water. How's that?!
Well, that's all for now. I have lots of reading to catch up on!
Thanks everyone for the nice words about my weight loss. It's a success for sure but not just for me....for ALL of us! I could never do this without ya'll!
Ok, Cyan, no maybe ALL of you....give it to me...a BIG KICK!! I was off today and still didnt get around to exercising! I gotta get motivated again. Dont know why Im being so stubborn about that.
I got out my notebook I was using before I starting logging everything into Fitday and found where I wrote my measurements down on Nov 10. I measured today to compare. Thought I'd share the results.
Still dont have time to address all of your individual posts. Sorry! Josh had what I thought was his last ballgame, but I didnt realize there was a tournament also. Ballgames every nite this week plus helped Luke with Math He has a Social Studies test also that we havent even gotten around to yet.
Congrats to all of you who lost and if you didnt, dont give up! It'll happen, I promise. What I lost last week was strictly from better food choices because I didnt exercise much at all, if any, last week. Thats something I've gotten get back into soon! Each one of you owe me a big butt kickin...lol
Well, we have been snowed in for the past few days and the kids are home from school again today. My food choices have not been good. I ate way too much chocolate, cookies and junk food. I tried to stay busy by cleaning up the playroom. It helped a little but I know I need to get back that food motivation. I really want to look good on our vacation in April.
Lisa, please share your information with us from your class. Any hints for healthy eating habits?
Cyan, are you cutting down on cheese again this week?
Lady, it sounds liike you are winning the fat battle one pound at a time. That is great. I need to get back and lose 1-2 pounds a week. I know I can do it beacuse last month I lost.
Taiwan, how are you doing with the exercise and eating?
Miki, I really think that better food choices at this point are even better than exercise. At least that is where I lose the most weight. Exercise helps tighten the flab but it takes alot of exercising to lose the calories in a simple cookie...it is better just not to eat the cookie.
Well, today is a new day and I am vowing to myself and to all of you here that I am not going to eat junk ...just for today. Maybe if I take it one day at a time I will be able to get back on track.
I think we are slowly coming out of the deep frost we have been in..up here!
Debee...dont give up...I think you are right...making the right food choices and staying within a caloric range in the most effective way to lose the weight. I know when I eat on range...I lose. Keep at it...slowly but surely, it will be a habit to choose healthy foods.
Miki....come on girl...get back on that airwalker...you got to move it move it....you will feel so much better...dont make me cyberkick you...again! So ..Miki...tonight...or this afternoon or sometime today...you will exercise...right
Taiwan...keep going
Reina...you are so on target right now...you inspire me to keep going.
Lady ditto to you...your hard work is paying off.
lobacal, cjunk, annie and lisa...hope you are doing well and looking forward to hearing from you soon
I found a great site that I thought I would share.. it's called myvirtualmodel.com and you can make a model of yourself at different weights--I did mine at my present weight 133, my next goal 120 and my ulimate goal of 110. It was fun and motivational
...check it out and let me know what you think.
Well, so far today I was pretty good considering the kids are home from school and driving me crazy...now I know what they mean about cabin fever. I made three different types of soups, did loads of landry, and even started a mediation journal. I also posted in Fitday (I noticed the times that I used fitday to journal and record my food were the weeks that I lost.)
Well, I have a few minutes and thought that since I was hunting around the cabinets for snacks I would come here and post instead. Hopefully, I can post again tonight.
Lisa – Hmmm…I’m not fat, I just have imbalanced nutrition! Cool! Seriously, your paper sounds excellent and it will really help you to focus on your goals and win this battle. You are already making great food choices. You go girl!
Miki – You Rock! According to my calculations you’re 17 inches thinner than you were in November! Boy, if that isn’t motivating to the rest of us, I don’t know what is. OK, now bend over for that cyber kick that will get you back to exercising….ready? kiiiiiick!
Cyan – How are you doing? Are you keeping those calories down? Doing your exercise? How is your mom?
Debee – I tried the virtual model site. Really fun, but the model has great muscle tone. Now if they would make one a few years older with no muscle tone! As to getting back into losing weight, you might want to look back at what you were doing / eating last month when you were losing and use that as a guide to get you motivated again. You can easily lose more weight by your April vacation. I like your One Day At A Time idea.
Cjunk – Betty – Reina – Taiwan – How is your everything going for you guys? Let us hear from you soon, ok?
Me – Didn’t have much energy today. I tried to do some aerobics with some perky little blonds in thongs on a TV this morning, but couldn’t keep up. Guess I would have to watch the show enough to see what the steps are so I could follow when they do those quick changes. Don’t know if I could stand watching them every day, though. Anyway, I put Taebo on instead and worked along with Billy, but ran out of steam half way through, so I quit and vacuumed the upstairs instead. Oh well, that’s got to be worth something, right? Diet was ok in the calories, 1110, but high in fat, 50.
I am very bored today and have tried to stay out of the kitchen by surfing the web on and off today. I was lurking on a few other sites and noticed one where all the members posted ten little known things about themselves. I thought it might be fun if we did something like that ...anyone game?
I guess I'll start
1. Once I went to Iceland with my older and younger sister for a weekend to buy christmas sweaters.
2. When I was working at an ad agency I was the Inglenook Navalle wine maker and the Stanley hardware man. So you see there is no truth in advertising...
3. When I was 17 I was Apple Harvest Queen.
4. I once dressed up as a gaint lifesize ice cream cone and had to give out free samples to people at concerts and other big events.
5. I was engaged four times before marrying my husband at 33.
6. After dating my husband for a month, he came to the ad agency I was working at to take to out to dinner...only he arrived as a knight and had a horse and buggy waiting outside to whisk me to a park that he had the state police close down. In the park was a table with two chairs surrounded by regal banners hanging from the trees and lifesize knights surrounding the table. Out of the trees came caterers with capons under glass...yes he was trying very hard to win me over. Someday I'll tell you about what he did when he proposed.
7. I have a sister who is 15 years older, a brother who is 14 years older and a sister who is 7 years younger.
8. I am still friends with a girl I met when I was three years old.
Engaged 4 times! WoW you go girl....but I think you married the right one...he sounds like a dream..sooo romantic. Does he have a younger brother? And.....you went to iceland for a weekend to buy sweaters...Are you rich But guess what...I went to iceland too...reykyavik...but I didnt buy a sweater.
ok...top ten things about me.
1. I am 32 years old and never been engaged...not even close.
2. I've never received a dozen red roses from a man
3. I've never been in a relationship with a man for more than a year...if that.
4. I have travelled the world by sea
5. I speak 3 languages and conversational in a fourth
6. As a child, I was extremely atheltic and was the fastest sprinter in my elementary school...boys included
7. My dream job is to work for a huge nature reserve park in Africa or South America...or even Australia.
8. Travelling is in my blood....I miss it very badly every day...but small sacrifices must be made for the betterment of my Mom
9. My best friend is a man
10. I have very cool co-workers and a very cool work environment.
Anyway, calorie wise 1699 and 62 grams of fat but I cycled for 20 long hard friggin minutes and burned off 180 cals for a net total of 1519.
Hey Ladies,
Hope you are all doing well!
Miki, I know you will find your way back to the airwalker! I am sure after seeing how many inches you have lost since November, you rock, Keep up the good work!
Debee, snowed in all weekend with the family, How are you still sane! One day trapped with my two men here, and I am losing my mind! I can't even hide in the bathroom! they find me!!
Taiwan, exercising again! Doesn't it feel great, I am a new person that looks forward to going to Curves every day!
Cyan, what did you eat today that spiked your fat grams to 62? Did you work out this evening? Three languages!! Wow, that is great!
Lady, Aerobics with a Blond Lady in a Thong! There is no way I could possibly try working out with her! Her perkiness would drive me through the roof!
Lisa, you hang in there!
Ok, 10 things about Reina:
1. Married my husband only after 8 months of dating
2. Dated my very first boyfriend from 8th grade until my Freshman year of college! Boy, was that a waste!
3. Lifetime goal, is to run in the LaSalle Bank Marathon by the time I am 40.

9. In High School, I was the one who threw all the day-time parties!
10. Dream is to move to Las Vegas for 5 years
I hope you all have a great day, and think before you eat...I did that today and it helped tremendously. Getting hungry now and it is 11:30pm, so I think Iwill go take a nice hot shower and go to bed.
