Well last night I exercise for 30 minutes on bike ...so things are going well in that department. My food intake has been up and down and I am still working on that. I have a great day and then I follow it up with a bad day.
Lisa...chips and dip..ummm.... ok....here comes the kick.....POW! No listen up Lisa.....you will not have any more chips and dip until you register a weight loss on the scale or inches lost....are we clear on this....put the chips and dip away...you can do it...now repeat after me...."I will not eat chips and dip until I register a weight loss on the scale or inches lost."
Cjunk...do you still need a cyber kick...I've got plenty left Let me know...and I will schedule a cyber kick for you. But it looks like you are doing well and not being able to eat chocolate...well I would have to go into counselling for that one...And I agree with Miki..your eating habits seem very healthy....good on you.
Miki...I think its very smart of you to have a one a week meal of your choice...it keeps your will strong to keep going. Kudos on you for exercising too....you are the queen of exercise .
Debee, Reina, Lady, Taiwan, Annie and Lobacal hope your weekends are going fabulously well for you and I look forward to reading your posts.
Reina...how are you doing with your points...and the exercise? Let me know.
Okay Ladies...thanks for being here and supporting me...I love coming here and reading about your lives...thanks for being here
Ok,
Well, I did pretty darn good for my first day on WW. I range from 22-27 points and yesterday I closed out my day with 24 pts. I am very happy, because I feel as if I didn't starve myself.
I am looking forward to going grocery shopping and picking up all those low fat, low point foods.
Lisa and Debee, I am excited that you both will be joining me on this points thing.
My husband said that he is not happy with the fact that I am so bummed with not losing and trying hard, that he just paid for 3 months of Curves. A new one opened up about 2 miles from my house and they have no required membership! Hooray for Me, I start Monday!
Oh, the gloves are off, and I will get into my skinny pants, like Debee....
Congrats to all of you who suceeded in losing his week.
Cyan, your weeks will come and you will do it. I am sure once you stop eating that evil cheese it will help tremendously!
Cjunk, I wish I could eat fish so easily. I cringe when I see it, and the smell just bothers me. I am trying to get into tofu though!
Well, ladies, I am off to burn some calories and dance while I clean! Should be fun!
Hi ladies! Today was a very busy day at work. I had 103 customers in 5 hours. Everyone is getting those rapid refund tax refunds already. I dont even have my stuff gathered up to start on my taxes yet! Didnt have time to eat breakfast or lunch. Bad thing is all we had in the bank was some bite size candy bars. My stomach was literally knawing for something inside so I did eat a few of those against my better judgment. Tonite hubby and I went to Subway and I had the roasted chicken on wheat with a package of Lay's Wow fat free chips and a Diet coke. When we got home, I had a handful of grapes and fat free tapioca pudding cup. Calories and fats are pretty low, but those evil candy bars totaled more calories and fats than everything else I ate combined!! I have got to make sure to get some healthy things to stash away at work for those emergency days when I cant leave to get something.
Sorry I cant write more but the kids are at a fellowship thing at church and it's time to pick them up. They have had activities for them all weekend. Last nite from 6:30-9:00, today from 10 until 2, then again tonite from 6 til 9. They have had a blast. Just fun, food, short devotions, games, etc. Anyway, gotta run or I'll be late getting them.
Well, I had one good day and one bad day this weekend.
Went out with a group of gals on Friday night and had a burger and a few light beers which brought my total to 1748 calories with 47 grams of fat. Saturday I was a bit hungover because I rarely have two drinks back to back and so I was eating very little. I made some homemade chicken noodle soup and this came in at only 110 calories per cup! Put a lot of veggies in it and some leftover chicken breast. Had some bread with it of course and also had some breakfast and a few lunch snacks that day with a total of 1180 calories and only 21 grams of fat. So I guess today if I can keep it balanced then maybe it will all work itself out!
Cyan, it is so nice that you have such an hourglass figure! I carry most of my weight on my hips and butt ---kinda like a pear!!! My sisters both have voluptuous bodies that men just die for! Consider yourself very fortunate as most women really do want the kind of figure you have as opposed to being rail-thin and boney. Honestly, I don't carry weight well. If I put on a pound--I know it. And if I overeat, I can see it and feel it in my ability to be active easily. It really slows me down.
Cyan and LadyRider I need a cyberkick for not swimming yesterday. My execise has been terrible lately. Can't seem to motivate myself. Slept over 12 hours yesterday and feeling kinda queasy all day. I have my ski lessons for 1 hour today and meeting some friends to ski for a few hours afterwards. I am looking forward to it because I am feeling very awake now and no longer queasy!
Cyan, I used to buy cheese at the local farmer's market that had less than 10% M.F. but was amazing and tasted like the real stuff! Perhaps if you find an alternative as good as that you may be impressed! I do often buy cream cheese for my boyfriend and I (which I eat sparingly as it gives me tummy aches if I have too much). It is Lactancia brand light mediterranean salsa. It is low in fat and had big chunks of red and green pepper, onion and salsa in it (not too spicy either). Great for adding to stuff that you are cooking where you want a cheese flavour in it too! I also use grated Romano because it is strong tasting and a few sprinkles on stir frys or in soup really cheese it up without too much in the way of fat. Hope that helps you to eat cheese and cut down too!!! It is too hard to just stop eating a favorite food. If someone asked me to give up sushi I would go nuts---or spaghetti for that matter!
As for me, my carbs are always very high. Perhaps that is why it takes me a lot of time to lose weight. I must do more research. My carbs usually sit at between 50 and 75% of my intake --closer to about 60%. Usually I exercise a lot so I think I burn them, but perhaps that is why lately with very little exercise I have been challenged. Any tips on cutting carbs? I like fish but I also love rice, pasta and bread. Love turkey, chicken and eggs and the occasional steak or burger (but not often).
Miki, it sounds like it has been very busy for you at work. Amazing that you had the time to check in with us. Good ideas on having some snacks at your work that you can eat. I think it is also great that you have one night where you can have what you want. I guess that is kinda what I did on Friday night.
Reina-mia, it sounds like you are really keeping in range with your points and are dedicated to losing those few pounds. Going to curves and using that points system will definitely get you there! I found that I could make a great grilled veggie pizza on wholewhat pita with light feta cheese and grated parmesan for only a few points and lots of good eats!! Took only a few minutes in the toaster oven too! Reina, they have some good imitation crab or lobster which is very non-fishy in the grocery store. Doesn't even look like fish. Very low in calories, high in protein and a good way to introduce yourself to fish--they use Alaskan Pollock to make it. Subway uses it in their seafood salad sandwiches too.
Lisa, chips and dip are a weakness of mine too. You gotta be careful with those because they can totally negate days of hard work and then you will find yourself frustrated with gains and losses all in one week! You gotta put them away while you are ahead. Better yet, don't keep them in the house. If your hubby is insistent on having them (as mine is with soda crackers which I eat like chips if they are around), have him hide them from you!! I mean really hide them.
Hope everyone else is having a good weekend. Touch base with us soon!!
Hi again...it's early in the day yet so not everyone has posted and I really dont have any news...just came here out of boredom basically..lol Havent exercised today altho calories and fats are on track. Feeling kinda yucky as is the rest of the family. We're all moping around. The kids I guess are tired from a full weekend, Phil was off yesterday while I worked so he's bored from a weekend of doing nothing, and I'm just in a bad mood for no reason. They are watching a movie at the moment, and I'm thinking I'm going to go take a long nap. I did get on the AirWalker and made it 2 min before deciding I just dont have the energy at the moment. Maybe I'll get around to it later.
Hope the rest of you are having a more exciting weekend than I've had, or at least a more motivated, satisfied one. I'll check in again later...
It was a quiet weekend ...we went to the lake house on Sat. and stayed overnight. The kids played in the snow most of the afternoon. I had a roaring fire going, some classical music, a sleeping husband and a few glasses of wine...out of the picture window I could see people ice skating and cross country skiing on the lake...yes it was relaxing. A baby deer even came up to our front door and the kids were able to hand fed him pretzels.
However, my husband woke up in a bad mood (he is getting depressed about the house because he wants to do a major remodel on it) I think it is fine the way it is with just a few improvements...well we won't be doing anything until spring and we still have to finish the remodeling on our main house first.
I got my period on Friday so this weekend I was not really hungry. On saturday we had chicken salad sandwiches and dinner was takeout italian.
It's me again...my husband was coming through the door with a pizza and I had to get off the computer. Now I have some time for individual posts..P.S. I only ate one slice of pizza.
Cjunk...do you have any suggestions for beginner sushi eaters...like reina I really do not like the stuff. Hope the hangover is better..sometimes I will have only two glasses of wine and I am flying.
Cyan...were you able to reschedule your mom's test...is the operation still on? I agree with cjunk about using stronger cheese to break the cheese habit. I use some shredded parm or low fat feta or blue when I need cheese.
Miki..when will Josh go to the state finals for the spelling bee? On Monday you need to fill your snack bowl at work with low fat pretzels, or even bring in a few slim fasts.
You and cyan are my exercise motivators. One of my goals for this week is to post every day that I did some form of exercise. I got the walking tapes and started those last week and more yoga tapes. Jake wants me to "teach" a ten minute yoga class during this lunch bunch at pre-k. I guess he did the tree, mountain and warrior pose and some of the other kids thought it was "cool"
Reina, you are going to be so skinny! It sounds that you are so motivated and ready for a change. Let me know how curves is...one opened about 10 minutes away and I was curious.
Lisa, even though you did not ask for one from me I am giving you a kick for eating in bed. One thing that I am going to try to start this week is to not eat any food out of a container...that means if I want a few chips I am going to put them on a plate, or if I want ice cream I will not eat the whole Ben and Jerry container, only one scoop in a bowl. Maybe we can make this another mini challenge. See if we can break the habit of eating out of containers.
Lady, betty, taiwan hope all is well and you are staying with your goal.
Well, I am going to post in FItday and look for some hotels in Florida...we decided that during spring break we will go to florida, drop the kids off with my sister in Marco Island and then hubby and I will go to South beach in Miami for a few days and the Keys.
We are not leaving until mid-April so now I have a goal to lose at least another ten pounds by then so I can look good in a bathing suit and shorts. It is about ten weeks away and if I can only lose a pound a week...that is my ten pound goal and will put me at 123.
Good morning ladies,
I hope you all had a pleasant weekend!
Well, I have to say that I stay within my point range for the entire weekend! Hooray
I actually stayed in the lower range of the points so I am feeling pretty good today!
Cjunk, thanks for the tip on the pizza, it sounds yummy!
Lisa, and Debee, how did you do on your points this weekend?
I went grocery shopping and bought all kind of 1 pt snacks for myself! I am really looking forward to a great week. I am feeling so charged this week, I don't know what has come over me.
Hi Everyone!
Sorry this will be a quick one, I have to get ready for work. Just wanted you to know I'm not hiding and I'm still on plan.
Reina, Congrats on staying within your points! This may be the plan for you.
Debee, losing 1 lb a week is very do-able. You'll look great in the new swim suit!
Miki, sometimes a lazy low key weekend is exactly what we need to recharge our batteries. Hope you enjoyed yours!
Cjunk, Glad you're feeling better. I was all set to deliver that cyber kick, but if you went skiing, that's good exercise too, so get lucked out this time! LOL
Cyan, how are you doing? Still riding the bike, and or lifting weights, right?
Anybody I missed, I'll catch up with you tomorrow morning.
I figure I am definitely in for a Cyber kick from most of y'all. I know I posted week before last that I would be back with y'all after the tournament....but I never made it back. I actually lurked for a day...but was feeling very unmotivated. I think I should have posted. I didn't exercise at all last week. I was completely worn out on Monday the governor was giving the State of the State address so I went straight home to hear that. Tuesday night was the State of the Union and I crawled into bed shortly after that.
Wednesday was a day from ****. A problem parent had a meeting with me and the Principal at school. And yes the parent is the problem, not the child. But I also found out that morning that the computer company I work for is going to be letting everyone go from this branch at the end of February other than my Daddy and Mr Shirley. Daddy had to tell us...what hard news to give us. Momma said he just about cried the night before he had to tell us. The economy just is hitting the computer business too hard.
Thursday was Region debate. My kids won. And Friday we headed back out to another tournament. I'll admit, not only did I not exercise at all this week, I didn't watch what I ate, I ate after 8 almost every night. And I totally just binged some days.
But I was consistent with studying my math so that I can pass the Praxis and get my teaching certification, so that I can teach full time starting in the Fall.
Anyway...it sounds like everyone is hanging in there...and doing well. I've caught up on the reading. I will post more individual messages soon. And I'm ready to get things going again.
Hi all I have had a busy morning at the nortary's office getting my parents documents in order...so all of that has been taken care of and we can all breed a little easier....My parents had previous wills and stuff...but they were over 20 years old and a little dated. So now, its all current.
Lobacal...sorry to hear about your bad news...its tough...the economy sucks. I wish you lots of luck with your praxis exams and I hope you are able to teach full time come fall....and I think you need a hug and not a cyber kick so here it is....
Hi Lady...I always look forward to your posts...glad to hear that you are on plan
Reina...good on you for keeping to your points...how have you been doing on the excercising?
Hi Debee...no the tests have not be rescheduled ...we have to meet with her endocrinologist at the end of February and then we find out what our next step will be....very long time...there's enough time for people to die here in Quebec many times over.
Well as for me, I have been exercising regularly...I cycled for 25 minutes yesterday and lifted weights for another 10 minutes.
Today I do cardio...I guess cycling for another 30 minutes...I'm also getting ready to go out walking...its so beautiful here and since I have the rest of the afternoon off...I will take advantage and get out there. Food wise, I am still learning to make better choices and slowly am working my way to lower fat foods...ugh so tough but I really want to have a one pound weight loss this friday.
Reina, I know this week you will show a loss. Your mindset is right on target and once your mind is made up nothing can stop you from making your goal! I was pretty good with the points I think I fell about 25 range this weekend because I tried to control portion size. Please share with us the 1 point snack treats you brought. I am trying to eat oatmeal in the morning and soup in the afternoon, it helps me control my dinner portion size and not feel like I have to binge in the evening.
Betty, hope that the job situation gets better. You seem to be a very bright girl and I am sure you can find another job quickly.
Lady, glad you are not hiding and thanks for th eencouragement to let me know that I can lose a pound a week.
Cyan, it sounds like the medical system sucks in Montreal. Just try to make time for yourself.
Lisa, Annie, Miki, hope all is going well.
Today, was a pretty good day. I had apple oatmeal for breakfast and a turkey sandwich in a whole wheat pita for lunch. My cold has turned into a sinus infection so I do have to make an appointment to go to the dr. on tuesday. I wore my "skinny" jeans again today and once again was amazed that they zipped up. Oh what a feeling! I am pumped to make this a lifestyle change. I really do not feel like I am on a diet but instead embarking on a new way of living...eating right, exercising and just appreciating the little things in life.
I woke up angry this morning and not motivated to do anything but sulk. Not sure why. Doesn't usually happen. Nothing to trigger it. I think I've hit the winter blah's. I sometimes feel like this during PMS but I am not even close to that timeframe. There is really nothing to make me feel this way.
So, not being sure what to do because I work at 11am and I manage people and don't want to bring this attitude in to work--I lit my aromatherapy burner and I have put on some calming relaxation blends. I had a long hot bath and made myself a spiced soy latte using my machine and am sitting down to write off some steam.
I am a little frustrated that fitday.com says my calories eaten are far less than calories burned and yet I am gaining a pound here or there. I am ready to scream at my metabolism!!! Basically I have to keep exercising every day or else I gain. And with this slump I have been in --in terms of getting to the pool I have been counterproductive in that manner. I am not sure how to get out of the slump because I have no energy lately and have been sleeping enormous amounts of hours. I will start taking an iron supplement today as sometimes when my iron gets low I feel this way.
Cyan, I am sorry to hear that you have to wait for the next appointment. I am the executor to my parent's will as well and it is at times stressful because they invest a lot and I am still learning about how to do that properly. My mom said she made me the executor as I am "always around" (my other sisters have moved farther from home). I really don't mind doing it though.
Debee, you sound very motivated and into a lifestyle change. I am a soup lover who eats soup on pretty much a daily basis--mainly because I enjoy it a lot. It is a comfort food for me. It is often my lunch. You are correct that it helps to bring down the calories for the day. I often order it at restaraunts when I see nothing else on the menu that is editable without gaining a few pounds on my hips!
Lobacal--great to have you back. We all take a ride off the health wagon every now and again. I think it is perfectly normal when you are trying to make a lifestyle change. Especially amidst all the changes like you have with your job--I am sorry to hear about that. It is great that you have new plans in place for your future and a positive outlook to your lifestyle. We can certainly help you along the way as much as we can.
Lady Rider--Glad to hear that you are on plan. I would love to know how to lose on pound per week. It seems to take me months to lose one pound and then months to keep it off. Everyone who is able to lose a pound each week should jump for joy!!! I would be ecstatic! Even exercising 5 days per week and sticking to a diet of under 1500 calories with 30gms of fat led to one pound per every month. My body seems to like my weight the way it is. I guess that has been a contributor to my frustrations because with slow progress comes impatience for me and then I get out of my exercise routine all together. I did ski for 4 hours on Sunday--thank goodness, or I would have had no exercise to speak of for the week. I am so tired. Any one have any suggestions as to how to get an energy boost just to get out there and exercise?? It has literally been a chore to get my butt to work each day lately. I don't feel depressed or anything--mostly bored.
Reina, great job on keeping within your points range. It is hard to do, and I am glad to hear that things are on track for you. Now, when you start combining the Curves workoutl--it will be a total win-win situation!!!
Gotta Go everyone. Sorry for the emotional rollercoaster of a post. Not sure why, but hoping for sunshine soon!!
Cjunk...reading your post was like reading about myself is so many ways...I too am the executor to my parents wills because I am the psycically closest to them...I live with them....
Also, I have a very sluggish metabolism and its takes alot of dedication and lots of efforts for me to lose a pound...and if I am not diligent...it all comes back.
Well, I gotta get back to work but I just wanted to let you know that I am cheering you on and keep up the good work.
I hope everyone is doing great today! I am feeling really good.
I am on right now.
I have been on the extreme size of 18, that I wear all the 18 stretchy clothes. I have about 4 pairs of jeans that are 18, but are just too tight for me to sit comfortable all day! So I don't wear those.
Well, Today, I got into those size 18 jeans very comfortably.
I have to say, I don't know if I am losing, but getting into these sure made me feel like I am.
I am sitting here eating my weight watcher meal and enjoying it by the way!. I am not tempted to go out and eat more chicken!
I was at Curves last night and I loved it. It is only a 30 minute workout, but damn, my muscles really hurt today! I will be back there tonight at 6:30!
Before I forget, here is the site I found with all the restaurant points mapped out for you and on the left navigation bar, you will find a 1 point food link. Check it out. http://www.***************.net/restaurants/index.html
Cjunk, I have totally been in those moods, and I just can't seem to get myself out of them. Last time, I yelled at myself in the mirror it was so bad! I said, look at you, look how ugly you are when you are *****y! Get over it, and go out and have fun, because life is too short to sit here and be cranky! Maybe, that might help you, it helped me, and it also made me laugh when my son walked in and said "You are too much, Mom"
Betty, sorry to hear that the economy has hit you! I too, was in the Technology Field for some time, and now because the economy is so bad, I went back to adminstrative work. I couldn't find a technical job for over 1 1/2 years.
Good luck and keep the faith, that will help you get through this.
Lady, How are you doing today.
Cyan, are your muscles pumping???
Taiwan, Mikki, Lisa, where are you guys?? I miss you!
Lisa, I hope your classes are going well?
talk to ya later!
