Default My Wednesday...

Well, it's 9:40pm here and quite. The boys are in bed and hubby decided he was hungry so he is out in this awful wind we have (kinda scary cause last time it was this windy for no purpose we had the BIG earthquake, not fun!!!!) to get a snack. I am not really hungry. Today wasn't too good food wise as I sent hubby out for lunch and what does the man come back with----KFC! good thing they didn't have bisquits done or I would've scarfed them down. He got a Twister?? and some Beijing twister thing. Yes, we each had 2. Then we had Chinese dumpling for dinner. I did watch that, but it still was at least 10grams of fat just from dinner. Didn't exercise today, but will tomorrow and Friday and Saturday is a church outing where we will be walking all day. So I will probably exercise 6 out of 7 days this week.

Let's see, 10 things about me(my life is really boring so this will take a while for me to think about)
1. I was a video and cinema major in college (and now teach ESL to children, big difference right?)
2. I have been doing black and white photography since I was 16yr.
3. My biggest mistake in speaking Chinese was telling a kid to "Don't pick your butt" when I meant "Don't pick your nose."
4. I've eaten chicken feet (that may not be something, but it's disgusting to me!)
5. I speak two languages fluently and want to learn a third
6. I was on the field hockey team (goalie) in Jr. High and basketball team from Jr. high all through college and softball (catcher) for church team
7. My friends and I would often toilet paper houses and soap windows of our youth pastor and youth leaders
8. My first car was a 1982 Nissan "Blue" that cost me $300US, my dad sells cars, what can I say.
9. My parents are private breeders of Yorkshire Terriers (have been for over 20yrs)
10. I want a large family (number wise )

That's it, not much I know, but hey what can I say.

Hey, I think I have lost some weight. I weighed myself (well, my son is in this mood to weigh himself after every meal to see if he's getting bigger so he drags me along with him) today after breakfast and it was my before Chinese New Year weight. I usually weigh first thing in the morning before I eat. So, I am a little excited about it this time. Ok, hubby hasnt' come back yet so that means he is probably looking to play billards. Yeah rah. Ok, signing off here. Have a good one ladies.

Hi everyone,

What an amazing group of women we are! Cyan and Taiwan speaking all those languages...wow!

Reina, you have to tell us about the can of corn...don't keep us hanging until Chicago. We are planning to go to Las vegas for a long weekend soon so when we do I will have to ask you where to go.

Foodwise I have been better today...the kids are finally back to school and the snow is melting. I went food shopping and brought my healthy snacks and now most of the junk food in the house is gone. A key is not having the junk food in the house. When it is here it screams my name. I have bad willpower so it is better not to tempt myself.

Cyan, about the weekend in Iceland. My sisters and I would go on yearly trips to "bond" and we got a great deal for a long weekend in November so we decided to buy sweaters for everyone we knew for Christmas. I am not rich, in a way it was a cheap way to do Christmas shopping. When did you go to Iceland? And one thing I just do not understand is why you do not great guy...you are an amazing woman and I am sure you will find Mr. Right soon.

Cjunk, Miki, Lady, Lisa, looking forward to your top ten lists...

I'll try to post later.

Hi Everybody!

Well today was certainly interesting – and scary. Bryan woke me early this morning by yelling Kriss Come Here! It turned out Bryan tripped going into our horses stall and fell right behind the horse, startling it so that the horse kicked out, kicking Bryan in the head. Thank God he wasn’t knocked out or I never would have known he was hurt. As it was, he managed to stagger into the house to call me. A quick trip to the emergency room and we learned there was no internal damage except that the blow tore his ear canal and ear lobe, requiring plastic surgery to repair. 2 inches higher and it would have been a blow to the temple – a very scary thought. We are back home now, trying to relax and very grateful it wasn’t a whole lot worse.

I am doing quite a bit of stress eating today, and haven’t exercised. I plan on having a better day tomorrow and getting back on plan.

Ten Things about me:

1. I married my best friend and high school sweetheart 38 years ago.
2. I have 5 children – 2 girls, 3 boys – ages 31 – 37
3. Two of my children are Korean
4. My dream would be to be a wild animal photographer
5. I have ridden my motorcycle from Florida to North Carolina to Illinois to Texas to Minnesota and back to Florida in one trip
6. My oldest granddaughter (14yrs old and several inches taller than me) calls me Grandma Smurf
7. I have written a series of children’s stories, but never submitted them for publication.
8. I always read the ending of a book first.
9. I'm not sure how to say this, but I have both heard and felt a presence that is not on this earth.
10. I ‘saw’ each of my adopted kids in dreams before they arrived.

This was a fun exercise and a great idea, Debee! I enjoyed learning more about each of you. I am very impressed with the bi / trilingual members of our group! I can’t wait to read those who haven’t posted yet.

And Taiwan – your life is not boring! You are the only American woman I know who lives in Taiwan …. and takes in troubled girls…and speaks 2 languages …..and does black and white photography! You are a very cool lady!

Cyan – what are the 4 languages you speak? You are a pretty, intelligent, loving, forgiving and compassionate woman. Be patient; I have no doubt life has someone very special in mind for you.

Debee – let me see ….you went from Apple Harvest Queen to the Stanley hardware man ….to a gaint lifesize ice cream cone…. you are one versatile lady! LOL

Okay....10 interesting things about me...
hmmmm...ummm....

1. I married my husband after only knowing him for 4 months.

2. At age 19 I joined the Air Force but ended up in the hospital with cellulitis to the right foot due to a blister and was eventually discharged after 1 month and 3 days.

3. Right after High School, I went to Southwestern Oklahoma State University and majored in vocal music.

4. At age 12 I was with my dad in his 4 seater Piper Cherokee airplane and we had to make an emergency landing on the interstate in the middle of the night in a blizzard in New Mexico.

5. My bra is hanging in a bar called Dicks Last Resort on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. I signed it and everything.

6. I have a tatoo

7. I have a 25 year old brother, a 22 year old brother and a 15 year old sister

8. my daughter, myself, my mother, my grandmother and my great grandmother are all alive which makes 5 generations. We take a picture every Thanksgiving.

9. I play the piano

10. When my family lived in New Mexico, we had a special rock up in the Mountains on the side of the road and we put stuff under it like pay stubs, a stick of gum, a gas reciept, a coin, etc. I want to take my husband and kids there to look at the old stuff and add to it. Haven't been there for maybe 15 years. Do you think it's still there?

That's all for now!

Hi everyone,

Lady, a.k.a Grandma Smurf, what a scary story about the horse. Thank God your husband is o.k. must have been watching over him. Please promise us that you will submit one of your children's stories for publication. Cyan once brought this up and maybe she is right we could write a book about us...what an interesting bunch of women we are.

Lisa, you are the musical one of the group... vocal studies and piano. I loved the story about the rock. I think I will start something like that with my family. Are you afraid of flying after your accident?

Today, was pretty good foodwise. For breakfast I had this new cereal cranberry crunch (not very good too healthy tasting) lunch was a whole wheat pita with lettuce and cottage cheese. Dinner was stir fry and for dessert one chocolate heart.

I needed that chocolate and thank god those candies are almost gone.

Hope to hear form cjunk, miki, and everyone else real soon.

Hi everyone!

So glad to be home tonite for a change. Just got caught up on reading all the posts from the last couple of days. Definitely a bunch of interesting ladies! Not sure I have much to say about myself...hmmmm...let me think a minute.

Ok
1) Went to the same school as my husband in a small town from 7th-12th grades but didnt actually meet him personally until I was in college. First time I ever met or spoke to him, he was sitting in my living room visiting my sis when I came home for the weekend!Engaged after dating 4 mos but waited for our one year anniversary of dating to get married

2) Was on the high school tennis team. Wasnt confident enough to try out in college but practiced almost every day with the college boys' team.

3) I've been to a wide variety of concerts such as 38 Special, Styxx(twice), Cheap Trick, Hall&Oates, ReoSpeedwagon(twice), Peter Frampton, Barry Manilow, John Denver, ALabama, Survivor, Nickelback, Little River Band.

4) I have 3 younger sisters, ages 37,34, and 24. I have 6 step-brothers and 2 step-sisters.

5) Once in college, really late at nite, going down the interstate with a friend, her windshield wipers went out in the middle of a huge downpour. Soooo, I hung out the passengers window and manually moved them back and forth so she could see to get us home I was Drenched! Had to come back into the car occasionally to wipe off my face and take another deep breath before going out again to drown. Truckers honked at us the whole way..lol

6) I only speak English altho my mom is a French teacher. I've never learned a word of it.

7) I have worked closely with my mother-in-law for over 15 years and never had the first cross word between us.

8) I've lived in the same community my entire life. (excluding college)

9) I went to college at Louisiana Tech University for 3 yrs as an English major.

10) Flew to World's Fair in New Orleans for our Honeymoon on a plane belonging to Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards who is now in prison.

Ok, I'm admitting it. I still havent exercised today BUT the nite isnt over yet and I do plan to do something so dont kick me yet!

Foodwise still on the right track. I feel like I will have a loss again tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed anyway.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Hi everyone,

Miki, I loved the story about the windshield wipers.

Well, this morning I weighed myself (naked so I would not add an extra ounce ) and I did lose a pound this week. I am happy since I was snowed in the first part of the week and it was really tough to exercise and prevent myself from stress eating.

What I did bad this week.

1. I still stress eat...need to keep busy doing something else when I am stressed or bored.
2. Ate way too much chocolate.
3. Didn't exercise much.
4. Bad attitude first part of week but it improved with the warmer weather.

What I did good this week

1. Started posting again in Fitday (starting Wednesday)
2. Tried to avoid stress eating by surfing the net, cleaning the playroom.
3. Walked to the bus stop twice, did yoga twice
4. Brought healthy snacks and foods
5. Posted here for support everyday.

Starting weight 1/3/03 -141
Current weight -132
1st goal by 4/15/03 -122
Goal by 6/18/03 -110

Happy Friday Ladies,
I hope you all are having a great day!
Well, I went and weighed in yesterday, and I only lost .02oz. I know it could have been better, but I ate out I think 4 days this week!

My plan for the new week!
1. Drink 5 glasses of water daily
2. Work out Sat, Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri
3. No eating out this week, except for Alex's Birthday Party
(My baby is turning 4 on Tuesday)
4. Eat carbs in 1 of my 3 meals for the day
5. Log my food, I slacked this week, and you see what that brings!

Hope you all have a great day and make sure you posts if you are having a good day or a bad one! we are all here for each other!

Lady, I hope Bryan is feeling much better! Scary situation!

Have a great one!

Hi ladies,

Today I did ok foodwise. Lunch was a pita with cottage cheese and lettuce, two bites of Jake's pizza and one chocolate candy, snack was a pretzel stick, a chocolate, three rye crisps with a little cheese and for dinner a wrap with hummus and a salad.
I am wearing my skinny jeans to keep me honest.

We are going to the lake house on Saturday with our friends. It is going to rain all weekend so we will not be going skiing. I am not sure how fun it will be with two 7 year old boys and a four year old boy and three year old girl in a small vacation house for two days. The grown-ups are bringing alot of wine. I guess I will drink all my calories.

Reina, I noticed that this week I did not go out to dinner much...I think that is where I get in the most trouble...I do not pay attention to portion size and eat fattening stuff. I am sure next week you will show more of a lose. Say Happy Birthday to Alex for me. Jake and Alex are about the same age...too bad you don't live closer the kids could have play dates.

Cyan, whenever I am about to get my period I get very bloated and since I weighed myself this morning (usually the time when I weigh the less) my weight can go up a pound. I really needed the motivation to think I lost something so that is why I weighed myself naked and in the morning. If I got on the scale now I would probably not be showing that I lost anything. My goal in the next two weeks is to break into the 120's even if that means 129.9

Well, I am going to log into fitday. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi ladies!!

Finally had a day of leisure around here. Have not left the house even once today! Loved it too. First thing before I did some house cleaning this morning, I did 15 min on my Air Walker. Worked up a sweat in just 15 min. Definitely gotta get back into a regular routine with that. Thurs nite after I promised ya'll I would exercise, I actually forgot til I got into bed and was watching ER. All of a sudden I realized I had never done it so I hopped out of bed and did some leg lifts. 20 on each side, then on my back and on my stomach 20 times also. Phil said, " You dont have to do that right now". I said, "Yes, I do...I already said I would and forgot. Cant put it off another day"He thought I was crazy.

Weighed yesterday and lost 2 lbs. I've figured up and since beginning at the end of Oct, I have averaged losing 6lbs per month so far. Just think how much it could have been if I hadnt slacked off at times and kept up at the Air Walking?? Only about 2 more weeks til I turn 40 I need to tighten up for sure to lose as much as possible these 2 weeks. I wanted to be down to 200 by then but dont think that's going to happen. I'm at 214 right now. ( This time last year, I was 242 tho, so not complaining

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Been raining here for days but I really didnt mind it today. I love storms when I can stay home and not get out in them.

Talk to ya'll again soon!

Hi ladies

Miki, 2 more pounds that is great!

Cyan, it's snowing and icy here tonight. I can not wait until spring.

We had a very nice weekend with our friends at the lake house. We didnn't go skiing because the conditions were not very good it has been raining for the past few days and then turned icy.

My girlfriend and I drank a big bottle of wine by ourselves and since it was the weekend I did not count calories. It was very relaxing and even the kids got along great.

Well, a new week begins Monday and I am ready to get serious once again about exercise and food. I am really going to try to eat a good breakfast, lunch and dinner and limit my night snacking. I hope the weather gets better because I would like to take some walks this week.

Tonight I have been busy getting a lesson plan together for a science course I am teaching to second and third graders starting Thursday...day one I'll have the kids make fake blood, green slime and killer potatos. I think it will be fun.

Default I am here...

can't say I've been good and I haven't weighed myself. Actually, I am thinking of waiting til my birthday to weigh myself. Hey Miki, you said your birthday was in a few weeks? When, mine is on March 12th. I will be 29yrs old.

Our guests just left. We have friends, Americans who are also missionaries here in Taiwan, that come to visit us once a month (well, they are moving to our town in June). And they brought some great fattening American food with them, and of course our schedule is all messed up while they are here. I loved having them here though, it's so encouraging.

Didn't do well eating wise, no exercising, but I am not letting it get me down like last time. It's very quiet in my house, dont' know if that's good or bad I see Joshua fell asleep on the floor and Luke took Josiah upstairs for a nap. I think I may lay down for a nap as well. Josiah is still doing his middle of the night feedings. Man, he is 8months old and nothing works!!!!!!!!! I am really beginning to think he has a problem. I mean, he will take 12.5oz of formula (10.5oz of that has baby oatmeal in it and 2oz is formula. The biggest bottle here is only 10.5oz) for bedtime bottle. It's like he can't go more than 5hours without eating. if anyone has had a kid like this, please tell me he will be over this soon.

Ok, I am off.
