Good morning ladies,
Hubby is being a sweetie and taking me to the casino today. Nothing I like more Tomorrow is first Zumba class and start up the gym day. In between I will do housework and laundry and groceries. It's starting to heat up here - must be summer is coming. Time to open up the pool. although I will have to be much more careful about shading my eyes from now on.
Annie - I can't imagine keeping your work schedule. There is barely enough time to get any down time in on the weekend as it is, much less working a second job. I feel for you sister CVS is really expanding here - giving Walgreen's a run for their money. Hope the weekend is not too short for you. Geez girl - will you always have that reaction to sweets? I thought some of those effects went away after you got a few years out from surgery. I admit that there are some things that keep me from considering surgery seriously. Like can I give up Coca Cola FOREVER? Which is really what I probably have to do to get the weight off anyway even tho I have seriously curtailed my drinking.
As for the teeth cleaning - I know it's pricey but much to our surprise we found with our cats that they develop plaque just like humans too. More so if they eat wet/canned foods. And they get cavities. And gum disease. So she would get marched off to the vet periodically and even so lost a tooth or two to gum disease. In the end our cat was 22 years old - a very ripe old age for a kitty - and we had to put her down because her teeth were so bad she refused to eat and the vet said she would starve to death. At that age too her heart and kidneys were failing so it was a combination of things that said she was ready to go for a long nap. I guess you will have to learn to brush Hella Bella's teeth visions of a one armed Annie full of scratches, a black eye and a puffy lip
Shad - I was thinking too about doing something for Mel but it's really hard since she has issues with food and smells. I will keep thinking tho and am open to sending her something too. Thanks for posting the email update. Sounds like you are wearing yourself out. Must be that commuting which is wearing you down Get some rest before you fall down.
Ceejay - have you considered one of the roller ball type mouse devices? I don't like them myself but they are supposed to help with the carpal tunnel.
Michelle - I hope you have a great weekend fishing and dancing away. I will be inspired by you in Zumba class tomorrow. Hope DH is on the mend too. Get some down time - you deserve it - life's been very hectic for you lately. Not good for the belly cortisol.
Mel - what can I say but
Come back soon - you're in my thoughts and prayers.
Laura - that walking tour sounds like so much fun. Hope the foot is up to it. Let is know how it went. And you can burn off the calories as you eat. That's what's so great about Chicago - such diversity. I miss it so much. Here you can walk from area to area to get ... BBQ. So funny with your comment about dealing with BF if he was "in a mood". The guys make fun of us but they are just as bad if not worse. Of course they never see it that way.
It looks like hubby decided to stick with going to the concert in Chicago next month. We haven't really made any plans for anything because he was on the fence about it. I'm taking 4 days of vacation but in reality it only leaves us 2 days out of the 6 to actually see anyone. There are several friends who want to get together and I know he would like to make a trip to the gardens or butterfly room to take some pictures. Kind of torn as to what to do - it will be a whirlwind trip - not too crazy about those. And I didn't tell you that we narrowly missed hitting a deer on the road on our trip to Gulf Shores. DH was driving the car - it was a baby Bambi that appeared out of no where. Thank God it decided to stay on the shoulder instead of jumping in front of us. After the last incident I never want to repeat that again. One good thing about winter driving - no deer!
The day is getting away from me and I have cleaning and laundry to get done before we head over to the casino. Hope you all have a great weekend! I will let you know tomorrow if I survive Zumba class
Up this morning and had breakfast with my neighbor at MCD's. Then it was back home to clean the kitchen and bathroom and do a couple of load of laundry. Now it's time for lunch which I think will be a salad. Not in the mood to clean the kitchen again.
Happy
Unfortunately the carpal tunnel is on the left hand. I've noticed my a.c. is running more today. The temperature's are more summer like. It was even hazy this morning when I got up at 7.30 a.m.
Annie
Hope your week end goes well. When is you next day's off? Glad to hear the arm is mending and more usable.
Michelle and Laura
I'm going to Paragould this afternoon and want to pick up the living room and vacuum it.
Morning all,
Better get this done before the 'staff' arrive. We have a full program planned for them today. She's painting under the verandah and he is digging a trench and hopefully it will get filled with 'mud (sand and cement mix) and then he will put the blocks back on the mud and my side garden will be transformed. Well maybe not transformed yet, but on it's way. Then he is going to dig out the plants from part of the front garden and put them aside. Part of the new brick front fence will be going in there this week (if I ever find the bricks that I want) and concrete will be poured into the deep trench out there tomorrow or Tuesday ready for the brickie. We are putting up the fence not because I want it, I don't, but because of the things which have gone missing and which when replaced we don't want to go missing again. The fence will be just high enough to deter anyone from trying to get things over it. We have also installed security cameras around the house so hopefully it will do the trick.
Happy - I had a thought about things that do not either smell nor use the eyes and there are a few. I may drop a pm to everyone to discuss the predicament.
Have fun at the casino, although I guess you are back by now. Rather you than me. I'll take on a rainforest trek to a waterfall or climb Mt Aspiring before I think about a casino trip. Each of us to our own fantasies.
Annie - busy, busy, busy. Hope you have a bit of a down day on Sunday. There isn't such a thing as a secure job anymore. I'm sure your government employees are about to find that out shortly if they haven't already. Ours put staff ceilings in some time back and they enforce them. For every person that comes on board, one has to leave. Early retirement or voluntary redundancy it's called. I hope the Japanese don't perfect their robots too soon otherwise we will all be out of a job.
Michelle - Zumba has come to a sweat factory near me - in fact all of them seem to be starting up classes. Pity the nearest one is at 5.30 at night. I can't make it at that time and anyway, I think I am off to Roma and points north and west in the next month.
Laura - happy walking around Chicago. Nothing like getting to know the old home base again. It's so amazing how so much changes and yet remains the same. Hope the foot stands up to it and that the b/f changes his moods again. I had the Change Manager on this project (male) actually tell me how bad males were to each other when you put them out in the bush and don't give them too much entertainment. I could have added that if you treat someone like a piece of cr*p, then what do you expect back??? I've been in mines and refineries too long not to realise that civilisation is a long way from civilised.
Roma is a small town which survives solely to service the agricultural and mining industries. It does have some nice old architecture and pubs tho'.
Ceejay - you had me wondering there for a while - going to Paragould and picking up the living room to vacuum it!! Then I read it properly.
Okay - off to kick the cat - whose guts have lost the sense of time. Soon the staff will be here and I still have to get to the shops. Yesterday I bought some new pyjama bottoms and one top. Got into a pair of the bottoms last night and reached for the top only to discover it was a size 8 - geez is that wishful thinking???? So back it goes an I hope I can find a 14 or 16 in the same design.
Hello everyone. Yesterday was busy. I spent the morning doing last minute file purging, and then I hurriedly ate breakfast and got my 3 shopping bags to the public works facility to get it shredded. Two long lines of cars, but it went fairly quickly. Good progress has been made, but more to come.
The food tour was good. I'm wasn't very familiar w/ the neighborhoods it covered, so that was educational - a nice blend of food, history and architecture. My foot held up well, so I'm glad I wore the Birk's. And we 3were all talking about our foot problems (like old ladies, lol) and now I have a 2nd person recommending the same foot doc my former Jazzercise instructor also recommended, so I'll make an appointment with him. Not sure if I should skip my appt tomorrow, or still go and make them "fix" the orthotic they made. I think it might be better to start afresh w/ the new doc instead.
The surprise b-day party was nice. I would've thought I'd had plenty to eat on the food tour - some full size and some sample size, and it felt that way by the end of the tour when we spent a bit of time exploring on our own. But by the time I was dropped off at the party afterwards, I had a headache and nausea. I get that way when I skip a meal, but this wasn't the case, so I thought it might be related to the end of TOM, or the combination of foods I ate. But once I forced myself to eat something (who wants to eat when they're queasy?), I was right as rain.
Looks like it's shaping up to be a nice day. I have laundry to do, and some gardening.
Mel - Big plans for the brick fence! It sounds nice, and hopefully secure!
Annie - Glad the shoulder is feeling better. Take it easy in the garden today.
Michelle - Thanks for the heads-up on the cost of doggy teeth cleaning. It's necessary though. I do regret, however, that bf and I didn't get into a doggy toothbrushing regimen as a pup. Still, I imagine it's the same as for humans - we brush and floss daily, yet still need to go in for cleanings - twice a year.
Happy - Hope you enjoyed the casino. My mom's cat had tooth problems later in life too. I understand the vacation quandary. From Chicago to where my mother lives in SW MO, it's about the same distance you and dh drive - about 500 miles. Because I usually visit my mother on my own, I fly. Do you consider flying - that would definitely be the more expensive option though. What about amtrak? Not any quicker, but at least you'd both get to relax.
Ceejay - Sorry the computer work is bugging your wrist. I developed that problem and I ended up switching my mouse hand to my left (I'm a lefty anyway.) It felt goofy at first, but now it's fine, and no strain or problems. Hope the splint helps you.
Mel - Sorry to hear about your eye & BP problems!! I hope the docs figure out the right BP med dosage to get you back to feeling good.

Good morning ladies,
The casino was fun last night. I did well at the first one but lost my winnings and some of my budget money at the other 2. Still had a bit to give back to DH at the end of the night. I can understand how you feel about that given the situation Shad but some people can handle it, some can't. I have very strict rules for myself and I said if I ever stepped over those boundaries, that was it for me. Several of us walking in the parking lot casuallly mentioned that it seemed like they "tightened up" the machines. They sure weren't paying much - just sucking your money. You can see that the economy has affected this area too so you'd think that they'd set the machines to give back a little more. I stop playing when I'm not winning and there were many people just sitting in chairs taking up space. The saddest thing was a young married couple - she in her homemade wedding gown and he in his suit. It sort of looked like they might have had a very small wedding party as they were talking with some people next to them. But I thought - geez - what a way to spend your wedding night - at the casino. And the bride was watching the groom play a 25 cent machine.
This afternoon is my first Zumba class. I hope my feet don't cramp up. I have a hard time doing aerobics. I get painful cramps in my feet. No one can tell me why and it's been this way for years on end. I have tried all different kinds of shoes, gobbled potasium, did foot flexes. I must have 20 pairs of sneakers in my closet. I'm finishing up my laundry now and will have to work out a meal menu for the week and do some shopping after the club.
Laura - we did consider flying but flying has become such a hassle - they cut out the direct flight from Memphis to Midway - that was convienent because Mom is only a couple of miles from Midway. And we'd have to rent a car - DH needs a midsize at least with good seats because of his back. Same for taking the train. So it what we'd trade in time, we'd spend in money. I did think about taking the train if I go myself to visit Mom. It's an overnight trip - DH would have to bring his gun and drop me off in creepy downtown at 11pm - gets into Union Station at 6:30. I think the return trip leaves Union station at 9pm and pulls into Memphis around 8am. And Amtrack's not so cheap either. I do like riding the train - just a bummer that the trip is at night when you can't see much of what you're driving through. But thanks for the suggestions. I would definitely go and get your orthotic tweeked. You paid enough for them and my doctor said it's very common to have to have the thing adjusted. It would cost you money to have it done by someone else. But do go find another doc if you don't think this one is helping you. There's surely no shortage of doctors up that way I don't remember the name of the podiatrist I saw when I was up that way but it sounds like you got 2 good referrals.
Wow Shad - lots of renovations in the yard. We need pictures! Sounds like you are redoing the entire thing. I'll bet it will be so pretty when finished.
I am a lefty too but I mouse righty. I find it most handy for the computer as I can manuver the screen and write at the same time What are you doing with the left hand Ceejay that is repetative? Keyboarding? Guess you have to pick new words that don't have the letters d-e-r-s-t or a in them. Just kidding!
The washer just beeped meaning the load is finished. Got to pop the next load in, get my gym bag together and get on with the day. Have a good Sunday ladies.
Save me some of that clam chowder Annie - as long as it's not the red stuff.
It sure seemed like a stupid idea when the alarm clock went off at 4.30 after a fairly restless night. Still I got on with it after a short period of why me and how stupid am I and a few other whinges about not being able to retire etc.
Yesterday was busy but I really enjoyed myself puttering around in the house and garden. Okay, I know it would pall after a while and I would be looking for something to do but I just wish the weekends were longer.Another day would have been nice.
I got a whole lot of little jobs out of the way and then did the ironing. Who knew how many pairs of black, grey and navy slacks I have??? DS2 cooked dinner (pasta and sauce - both store bought) and added his own brand of salad (parsley, cheese and some raw carrot and onion) and then some fruit and biscuits and cheese to fill in the gaps.
Happy - glad you didn't take my casino rant too seriously. I know how much that money puts into the local economy through gaming taxes etc. We would be the first to whinge if it disappeared completely. I think rather than the act of gambling, it is the complete uncaring of the owners as to the plight of some of their victims that does it for me and the gimmicks they pull to keep you gambling if you don't have a strong mind. I'll play penny poker and have a bet at the races on occasions so I'm not that anti myself.
Hope the Zumba class went okay. I used to get cramp in my feet in the Balance part of Body Balance. It hurts.
Laura - well done you for getting some of the filing up to date and destroyed. That's on my list for this winter. My shredder is so small though and it takes a while to get it done. I haven't yet found a commercial shredding place around my way, although I bet there is one somewhere.
Okay - I owe, I owe, so it's back to work I go. I'm scheduling bums on seats this morning. Gotta love that job

I did not find Zumba as much fun as Michelle does. This was supposed to be the slow class but the instructor just jumped into it like it was an advanced session. Halfway through the class the moves got so fast and frequent that I could not keep up. By the time I figured out what she was doing, she was on to another move. My feet were cramping up and I left the class. I cannot even imagine for a minute what the regular class would be like compared to this. I have always failed miserably at aerobics. However since I was determined to exercise, I did swim laps for 35 minutes and am sore in every bone in my body. As much as I hate getting up early, I have to admit that I like it better in there at 5:30am. The club was filled with parents and their unruly "little darlings" who were ill mannered and running amok. I used to love kids but not anymore.
I have to get to work earlier Monday so might not be able to post until lunch. Was delighted to realize that a week from Monday we have a holiday!
DON'T SEND ANYTHING CAUSE HERE I AM!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR MORE SERIOUS TIMES!
THE READER'S DIGEST VERSION OF MY SAGA IS THAT THE PILLS ARE WRONG FOR ME AND MY EXISTING CONDITION. HAD SEVERE REACTIONS. I HAVE ANOTHER APPT WITH ANOTHER DR ALSO FOR JUNER 9TH. AFTER REPEATING THE STORY OF THE DAY I HAD, THEY BELIEVE IT WAS THE PINCHING BP AUTOMATIC BP CUFF AND THE EYE PRESSURE RAISING THE BP AND TOLD ME TO EITHER COME TO THEM OR SEE ANOTHER ER. I CHOSE THEM. I'LL STAY CALM TILL THEN!! JEN ENDED UP IN THE ER ON SATURDAY WITH GRAVEL IN HER URINE DUE TO A MASSIVE INFECTION. SHE IS DOING BETTER TODAY WITH MEDS BUT LOTS OF PAIN. NOT A GREAT MONTH FOR US ALL OF THIS WILL PASS.
I SCANNED YOUR POSTS AND WILL WRITE MORE LATER....I NEED TO MAKE AN EARLY REPORT TO JOHN ABOUT THE WEEKEND AND GET THIS WEEK GOING. THANKS FOR ALL THE GOOD THOUGHTS. I AM FEELING MUCH BETTER NOW THAT THE EYES ARE IMPROVING!
HAVE A HAPPY MONDAY!
I survived the weekend. Yeeeha. Got tons of yard work done. Got a nice tan to boot. Had PT this morning first thing, was a little stiff in the shoulder but was probably from over use yesterday in the yard. PT gave me the electrode therapy. I am lovin' that part of PT.
Baby Boy soldier had an 8 hour pass yesterday for passing his classroom testing 100%. He called my 5 times yesterday...lol. How cute is that?
Made delicious tasting clam chowder soup yesterday. It tastes great but the clams are a bit rubbery due to the fact that I got some cheap clams and not the usual brand. That is what I get for trying to save $$. I will eat it tho, rubber and all. LOL.
Also made steaks and baked potatos on the Barbie. Quite tasty and brought the leftovers for lunch today. I love leftovers, especially meatloaf. I may make meatloaf on the grill next. You can cook anything on the grill as long as it is wrapped in foil. LOL.
This is going to be a busy, tiring week. I work CVS M, W, Th nights this week, then off F, S, work Sun, off Mon the holiday from both jobs. YEAH!!
Some friends want me to take this Friday off to go to the track for carb day. I must say I really don't like that big of crowds, drunks or idiots. I may pass on that one.
Shaddie...do you ever slow down. My word woman, go go go. The devil will never catch up with you as you move to fast.
Happy...I have never been to the casino but would love to go sometime. I agree with you on the Zumba thing but enjoyed it anyway. Laughed most of the time as myself and my DD. We went together a couple of years ago. Hilarious.
Chelle...Hope everyone is healing and feeling better in your world. Yikes. How is the DHs ears?
Ceejay...sounds like you are in the cleaning mode...come on over, I will fix lunch.
Laura...Your foot sounds as tho it is healing and you are getting around better. I find when I don't use my arm/shoulder it is harder to make it work. Keep movin'
MELLIE....Are you trying to keep in competition with me on ailments? Sounds like you and I take turns going to the doc/ER. Enough is enough, I am not playing this game anymore. Now stop it. LOL
That is about it on the 86, sunny degree day. Would rather be home, but not wishin' it cause you never know when you are not going to have the choice of working or staying home permantly.
Happy – Glad you enjoyed the casino. A work assignment in Reno, NV was my first experience w/ casinos. How odd to be leaving the hotel in the morning and seeing people sitting at the slots with a beer in hand. I always find that I can only gamble away so much money (and that’s a small amount) before I begin to think about what I could buy in tangible goods with it and then the entertainment value of gambling pales. But it’s entertaining for a time, and the people watching can be fun too. Didn’t that newlywed couple have anything better to do on their wedding night - like consummate their marriage, lol??
Sorry you didn’t enjoy the Zumba class. It’s too bad that it seemed too advanced for what it should have been, but I’m not surprised that you had trouble keeping up – it’s all new to you! Maybe give Zumba and yourself a 2nd chance. Maybe having a chat w/ the instructor and asking her to go through a couple moves w/ her before or after class would make her realize she has a newbie in class and needs to slow it down. Too bad about the cramping in your feet. I’ve had times where my feet would have numb spots during Jazzericise, and I was always experimenting w/ tighter/looser lacing. I’ve also had numbness sometimes when I doing the elliptical. Great job w/ the swimming! I sometimes think I’d like to take up swimming for exercise because it’s more gentle on the joints. Why are there kids in the gym?! My gym has a childcare room, and every once in a while there’s a kid at large, but not very frequently.
I think I will keep my foot doc appointment today – I do feel like they should be the ones to adjust the orthotic they created. So I should make sure they don’t charge me much for doing this, right?
Shad – Yeh, an extra day on the weekend would be nice. I’m looking forward to the 3-day Memorial Day weekend we have coming up this weekend. Too funny about the slacks – I too have several pairs and most are black, brown, navy, or a very quiet check. A couple years ago I had a pair of recently purchase cream-colored slacks that I promptly wrecked when the cuff got caught in the bike chain – it didn’t chew up the fabric (I’ve done that one a couple other pairs), but the grease stain never came out. I was actually sort of glad, because the light colors don’t camouflage the lumps and bumps the way the dark ones do, lol. BTW, I do wrap the pant leg faithfully w/ a Velcro strap now, in spite of having a chain guard, having learned it doesn’t always keep the pant leg from getting caught in the chain!
It was really nice to not have to shred my 3 shopping bags of paper. I confirmed w/ the guy who took my bags that they shred them right then and there, and he said yes, and that I could pull over and wait to see it myself. I took a pass on that – I believed him and I didn’t have the time to do it even if I wanted to. Well worth waiting in the long line of cars.
Mel – Glad you’re at home and on the mend and FEELING BETTER. So you won’t be on bp meds for now? Like mother like daughter – in the ER?!?!?! You poor things! I hope Jen’s meds work quickly and get her out of pain!! That sounds miserable.
Annie – Sounds like a nice weekend, esp. the calls from baby boy. That's very cute – but he better watch out so his soldier buddies don’t nickname him momma’s boy!! This’ll be a good week for cooking on the grill – you won’t have to heat up the house using the stove. Bf lamented around dinner time last night that it was too late, or he would have made ribs. Mind you, his rib recipe calls for 3 hours in a 300 degree oven. Uh, temps are in the upper 80's - I don’t think so!!! That’s when an oven in the basement would be nice – my mother had a small apartment-sized one and we’d use that in the summer. Busy week ahead for you - but nice you only work one day over the holiday weekend!
Ceejay & Michelle -
My Sunday was nice. I didn’t garden, but I did buy some impatiens and an accent plant for my two hanging pots. I’ll plant them this week. I'm extremely thrilled that my neighbor gave me some of his extra tomato plants – my seedlings just didn’t do anything this year and I would have had to buy some plants. His are very strong and healthy. Woohooo! Have to plant those this week too!! I also did a few loads of laundry and that’s about it. It was very warm, so I spent some time sitting in the yard with my ice water, reading the paper and my book, catching the breeze. It was very warm in the house and we eventually turned on the AC in the evening because it’s going to be warm all week. Doggy was panting a lot all day, so he’ll be more comfy in the AC too.
I think I need a weekend from my weekend. It was definitely a busy weekend, but fun. I did lots of Zumba as well as cardio yardwork/gardening. My muscles are pretty sore, but I'm going to hopefully work them out tonight with more Zumba and a little strength training.
DH's ears are still causing him a lot of pain, and some dizziness. We went for a drive in the country yesterday for about an hour...just to see if he was okay to drive, knowing that I could take over the driving if he started feeling too dizzy. He did okay. And he went back to work today...and was able to drive there okay.
Unfortunately, we haven't had the good weather or DH's good health to take my DMIL fishing, but hopefully this coming weekend.
On Saturday, DMIL, her sister and I went to get our hair cut (and I got mine colored as well). I showed the stylist (John's cousin) a photo of the hairstyle I wanted, and she said we'd have to take some length off. I normally just say cut the dead stuff off. She said if we just cut the dead stuff...that would be approx. 3", but if I wanted it to be really cute, she'd have to cut 5" off. I told her to go for it. And it is REALLY cute and easy to care for. It's still 2-3" below my shoulders....so that's good. It looks and feels a lot healthier, and I love the style...even though it's nothing fancy. Just parted on the side and slightly layered. But the shorter length gives me more of my newly found natural wave (that only first showed up a couple years ago). After our haircuts, we went out to lunch. I really enjoy spending time with John's mom and aunt.
I'm glad that I have a short work week this week (we get Friday off) and another short week next week for Memorial Day!!
Ceejay - Sorry to hear about the carpal tunnel syndrome. I hope your computer keyboard/workstation are set up properly so your arms/wrists are properly aligned.
Shad - Thanks for forwarding the message from Mel. I'm definitely in for getting something for her. You are always so busy, I get exhausted just reading your posts - and I think of all the things I shoulda, woulda, coulda be doing. So you're going to Roma for this job? Will you be staying in a hotel there or is it close enough to commute?
Happy - Glad you had a nice time at the casino. I occasionally go, but limit myself to $20 or $40. I only go to smoke-free casinos...and there aren't any close by...so no temptation at all. Sorry to hear about the foot cramping. Be patient and modify the moves. Zumba should not cause pain. I'm surprised the steps are so fast. Our Zumba Gold classes are only 1/2 hour, and have pretty basic footwork. Are there other convenient days/times when Zumba is offered? If you have even a little fun while doing Zumba...you'll get the moves eventually and then it's even more fun. We had a warm weekend here, and we almost turned on the A/C yesterday afternoon/evening. I had the same reservations about bariatric surgery as you...can I give up soda and beer forever?
Laura - Glad you had a nice time at the walking food tour. I hope whatever doc you see is able to alleviate your foot pain. We don't have a great regimen about brushing the doggies' teeth, but we do give them treats that are supposed to help. I always tell myself after we shell out big $$ for the teeth cleaning that I'll brush their teeth more often. Now I just have to buckle down and do it.
Mel - So sorry to hear that the pills caused a severe reaction for you. Please just relax and take it easy, my friend. to you and to Jen.
Annie - I also did a lot of yard work this weekend. Still haven't gotten the plants in...but it was good to get things cleaned up. I've never thought about grilling meatloaf. Do you make it just the same as when you bake it? How long do you grill it for? You are going to be tired after your long week at both jobs. When I first read that you were invited to go to the track for carb day, I thought you meant carbohydrates and I was like "huh?" Then I remembered you meant the Indy 500 track and carburation (sp?) day. You're right about not wishing I could be home...because even though it's gorgeous out...I love my job and want to keep it. But I am looking forward to having 13 days off in a little over 2 weeks!
Happy - I agree with Laura. Did the instructor ask if there was anyone new to Zumba? My instructor always asks that, and then she picks the songs/routines more carefully and really goes over the steps, doing them at a much slower pace before doing them at full speed. One of the Y's I go to allows kids and one does not. I prefer the one that doesn't...but I go to the family Y a couple times a week for Zumba classes and have to dodge the little monsters that are running around.
Laura - Good luck at the foot doc appt. And I agree that if the orthotics aren't working for you....they should fix them free of charge, as you've already paid plenty for them. I have to get to the nursery for some annuals and some veggies...but didn't have time or energy this weekend.
Annie - Forgot to mention....so nice of your son to call you often on his day off. When does he get to come home on leave?
Laura...I am such a tight wad, I needed to turn on my AC last night cause it was hot and muggy and I was sparkling (sweating) a lot. It finally cooled down enough for me to get to sleep around 10 pm. Not too bad. I can't sit still long enough to read a book outside in a lawn chair. I get to thinking about stuff I need to get done and before I know it the book is on the ground and I am up and at it.
Chelle....I just don't feel like messing with a drunken crowd at the track on Friday. Strangely enough this past weekend for time trials there were only 18 arrests made. Usually there are around 100. I think people are taking drinking and jail time a little more seriously. I go to parent's day at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO on June 23 then his graduation is June 24, I bring him home with me. That is on a Thursday. THe following Monday he reports in at Bloomington, Indiana. Still don't know what they are going to do with him yet.
I must admit, I have ate everything today that hasn't eaten me first. I am having a craving, eat everything day. Yikes. Must be all the zumba Chelle is doing. LOL
