Evening all,
I've figured out Cinco de Mayo. The one day in history that the Mexicans beat the French in a fight! The wonders of history.

Not much to report today. Too much work and too little time. Nothing new there, but I'm not going to stress over it anymore. I shall do what I can and no more or no less. It's life.

Happy - hope you enjoy your holiday. I think it is today you are going away. I put the Czech/ Cheque/ Cheque in the mail today. Nice bloke in the Post Office relieved me of $2.10 and said, I'll put this in the box for you - no problem. For that price, I reckon he should have delivered it to the mail centre!
Enjoy the family too.
Over here, we get told not to seal basic stuff like cards which are going to the States. Apparently, there is a trend to send some interesting stuff such as money and other goodies wrapped in foil inside a card. My bank tells me that the US is now officially the worst place to send money to via the bank. She reckons it is just crazy out there. So your birthday card didn't get sealed. I figured the postal people could all do with a laugh anyway.

Mel - loved that graphic with the cat wanting morning to go away. Feel sorry for the bloke on the phone. I can't imagine what you said to him.

Michelle - you will be looking forward to the bloke coming home - even if you haven't got the housework done yet. Looking forward to seeing the photos of sunsets and waterfalls.

Annie - there is no rhyme nor reason for layoffs these days. People just don't have much of a chance. Sad thing is that those left behind often have to do twice as much work after they are gone and they darent' complain since they might end up going the same way.

Laura - Owie on the knee. Hope it feels better soon. Nice to have a day off once in a while.
The walk to work challenge is going fine. I'm quite enjoying it. I walk from the city down to the river, then along the river back and finally back up to the suburb of Milton and wander through an 'Italian' walled centre, grab a coffe and yoghurt and walk down to work. It's quite pleasant and I only get run over by bicycles and not traffic. I'm always amazed at the variety of people out there walking, running, sprinting and speed cycling. They are young and old as well. I'm taking the odd photo of my journey from time to time and will show you my walk when I get the time.

Ceejay - sounds like you had a busy sort of a day of it. We've been watching the news over here to see where the flooding is going. Oh dear, I should fee sorry for Keith Urban - he's not certain, but he is pretty sure he has lost his guitar collection. My heart bleeds. Cynic that I am. At least they donated some cash towards the victims who lost their homes.

The DS2 is whingeing about his job. Has been for ages. I just keep telling him to leave the damn thing. Finally he is talking about it. I think the last straw arrived yesterday when he pointed out some hazards and reasons why he can not get the budgetted tonnage out of the mill and basically got told to suck it up and get on with the job. I think he should go out and get temporary work and then he can become unemployable like me.

Anyway I had better get out of here and get on with the day/ night and the dreaded list of things to do.
See ya

Hi everyone -

I had a great Zumba class last night, and then 10 of us women went out and celebrated Cinco de Mayo. The restaurant had a Mariachi band. It was lots of fun. Today is so frassin' busy - already. I think it's going to be like this for awhile. Better than being bored and my boss figuring out the company can go on without me....because of course it can't.

Happy - I hope you have a wonderful vacay!! Enjoy your time with your family...and I hope the beach and beach house are gorgeous!

Laura - I hope the knee is doing better.

Shad - Too much work to get done and not enough time? Sounds like where I'm at. Better than having too little work or none at all, I guess.

Ceejay - Bummer that the flood shortened the vacay you had from the bosses.

Annie - Layoffs are always tough. And it's so hard when you know the news early and can't share the info with your friends. I've been there. It really really sucks. Hopefully, they'll at least provide a decent severance package. My CA vacay dates are 6/9-6/20. Hope you enjoyed your evening with Jose! 101 turtles?? How cute!

I've got to run. I'll try and check in later.

Love and hugs to all,

Hello Everyone and Good Morning!!

Sunny day today, 77. This weekend will be a bit chilly. 57 on Saturday, possible rain... Not complaining as all those in the southern states with flooding is just awful.

CVS was uneventful. Sausage fingers has come in two nights in a row, I told him he needed to find a hobby and quit hanging out in CVS. I think he still has the hots for me, but I am not about to go thru that torture of dating him again.

Shad....sounds to me like it is all work and no play. If you can only work 8 hours a day then maybe your contract will get extended as you cannot possibly get all done that need be.

Chelle...will you be able to post while on vacation??

Happy...enjoy your vacation or soon to start vacation.

Ceejay...boss came back early, wow what a way to ruin your in-house vacation.

Boss is giving me her credit card to go shopping for her. She told me to go around 10 this morning as what she needs will be needed on her mini-vacation that starts this afternoon. I said well break my other arm and make me go. lol

Physical therapy was brutal yesterday. My arm is still a bit achy plus the fact I worked at CVS last night without the sling. She wants me to go slingless from this point forward. The arm is kinda like a dull headache that is just constantly annoying. I am not working tonight and plan to get to bed early.

Have a marvelous day all

Love and Hugs,

WISHING ALL MY FRIENDS A VERY HAPPY GIRLFRIEND'S DAY

OPENED MY MAILBOX AND TWO OF MY FRIENDS REMINDED ME IT'S A DAY FOR ALL US CHICKS TO CELEBRATE TOGETHER. I FOR ONE THINK IT CAME AT A VERY GOOD TIME. A GREAT MONTH TO RENEW OUR FAITH IN FRIENDSHIP. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY.

BOTH YESTERDAY AND LASTNIGHT'S MEETING SEEMED TO BE THE NEVER ENDING STORY. I WILL BE BACK LATER ON FOR PERSONALS. JUST TIRED AND EYES NEED A BREAK. THE DUST OUTSIDE IS ALL OVER THE BLDG AND I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW MUCH WAS ON MY CHAIR WHEN I FINALLY GOT BACK HERE. I ACTUALLY HAD TO GO BACK DOWN TO THE LOBBY FLOOR AND ASK THE MAINT. MAN TO HELP ME DUST IT OFF WHILE I HELD MY BREATH
UNREAL.....SO CATCH YOU GALS LATER OR MANANA.

I truly value everyone's support and friendship. I love you all!

Annie - I hope to be getting a new smartphone, which will allow me to post while on vacay.

I didn't have time to stay for my WW meeting, but I did go to weigh in. I didn't expect much given last night's late and heavy eating (and the margarita), but I was pleasantly surprised! I lost 0.8 lb this week!

I gotta run. I've got a meeting in 1/2 hour and lots to get done beforehand.

Love and hugs,

Michelle
Congrat's on the .8 pounds lost.

hello to every one else.

We are about to get dried out from the flood.

Talked to my landlord today and he's going to replace the appliances and do the tile work around the bath tub. He's having to gut 4 apartments on my street due to the flood. My rent may go up but it will be worth it.

Hi Everyone -

TGIF fo' sho'! Another crazy busy day ahead for me at work but it makes the time go by fast, so that's okay. After work, it's Zumba - I'm trying to convince a co-worker to come with me. Tomorrow is more Zumba and then grocery shopping and lots and lots of cleaning. Sunday the aerobic exercise will be more cleaning, including scrubbing the floors. DH and DMIL arrive Sunday at approx. 5 pm.

Ceejay - So glad to hear your landlord is going to replace your appliances and the tile around your tub. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your rent doesn't go up.

Shad - Enjoy your weekend. Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Annie - I can get to 3FC from my new phone...and hopefully I can post brief check ins while I'm on vacay next month.

I'll try and check in with y'all later.

Lotsa love and hugs,

FRIDAY ALREADY! I FEEL LIKE THE WEEKEND JUST ENDED AND NOW HERE COMES ANOTHER ONE
A COLD FRONT IS ARRIVING AND NOW THE TEMPS WENT DOWN 30 DEGREES. HARD TO KNOW WHAT TO WEAR. THE SIDEWALKS SHOULD BE FINISHED BY TODAY. LORD KNOWS WHEN THE DRIVEWAY IS GETTING DONE. THE DATE KEEPS CHANGING. THEN THERE'S THE FACT THAT THE SIDEWALKS AREN'T MEETING THE HEIGHT OF THE DOOR JAMBS THAT MAKES FOR A "STEP DOWN" FOR MY CHAIR AND ALL THE WALKERS. BUT I AM STAYING UPSTAIRS AND MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS. I'LL CHECK IT OUT OVER THE WEEKEND WHEN NO ONE IS HERE. THEN LODGE MY COMPLAINT ON MONDAY
HAVE A GREAT DAY

LAURA.... WAVING BACK TO YA!

CEEJAY...GLAD YOU'RE GETTING THE APPLIANCES AND HOPE THE RENT DOESN'T GO UP TOO MUCH. BUT NEW THINGS WILL BE NICE TO HAVE. TOO BAD ABOUT THE OTHER APARTMENTS. SO MANY PEOPLE HURT WITH THOSE STORMS.

MICHELLE...GUESS WE WILL KNOW WHERE YOU'LL BE ON SUNDAY AT 5PM!! HAVE A GREAT MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND WITH DH & THE MIL!! OH....IT'S 5 WEEKS TILL CA...OK GOTCHA!

Hi ladies,

Forgive me for not chatting. Have been wrapped up with work all week and getting the house ready for company. Mom and SIL arrived just fine at lunchtime yesterday. Today is a busy one planning what to take/wear/see for vacation as I have not really given much thought to it. The cat is spooked as she knows something is up

We leave tomorrow - so far the reports are that everything is fine there in regards to the weather and the oil slick. Let's hope it stays that way Thanks for your prayers and good wishes for our trip.

I've got to run now - errands - pick up my new glasses, get some new clothes for DH, drop the books off at the library. Will try and get back to say goodbye before we leave.
