Perhaps we are really just one big personality and we can't all be present at the same time

Seriously though ... hope everything is ok with you Annie.

I will have to catch up with the lot of you at lunch time. Had some extra chores to handle this morning so not enough computer time.

Good talking with you too Joy - we just happened to be on FB at the same time I was actually talking to my sister at the time (who said to say hello to you). I was trying to convince her to come with us to the beach house.

Later ladies...

Annie - You poor thing! I hope it wasn't a complex fracture, and that you're not in pain. And you've disobeyed our thread's rule this month!! But I guess you've got a good excuse now to get out of the yardwork! Hope all is well w/ your folks and the rest of the family!

Happy - Did you convince your sis to join you at the beach house?

Mel - Hope it's not too scary when they pull out your old appliances!

Shad - Hope the dentist visit isn't painful.

Hellos to Ceejay & Michelle!

Plugging away on a work project due this Friday. Wish the pure delightfulness of work could distract me from the fact that I sit on my arse all day in a poorly ventilated space without any sight of the outdoors. But I will get out at lunchtime... The movie tonight is "The Runaways", the only movie on the voting list that mildly appealed to me (all the romances/romantic comedies have gotten bad reviews). About Joan Jett's start in the rock n roll business. Now I have that song going through my head - I love rock n roll!!

Toodles!

Happy Tuesday -

I'm still feeling the endorphins from working out at the gym last night. I did an hour of Zumba and 1/2 hour of strength training. It was a blast!! Tonight will be some decluttering before heading to the gym for 1/2 hour of Zumba. I had such a yummy breakfast today. On Tuesdays, the cafeteria at my work makes omelets. So I had my usual, an Egg Beaters omelet with lots of veggies - no cheese or meat - covered in salsa. Because it's Egg Beaters and no meat or cheese, a HUGE omelet is only 2 Weight Watcher points!! And it's SOOO yummy! And I got a serving of veggies in before 7 am!

I'm still waiting to hear back from my sister as to what vacation days she has this summer, so I can make some flight arrangements.

Okay....I started this post hours ago...then the whole day went to ****.

Laura - How nice that you have a doc destruction event to get your paperwork ready for. I haven't used much vacation either. I'll be using some to go to CA (hopefully), and some more around the holidays (hopefully). The Runaways sounds like it could be a good movie. If you go, let us know how it is please.

Shad - I hope the dentist appt went okay. Which beardless kid are you referring to? Justin Beeber (sp?). I wonder what will happen to that kid's fame when his voice changes. I'm working my arse off to get to my 10%. We'll know on Thursday. I had a yummy salad for lunch, including a little hummus and pita points. I was going to go upstairs and get more hummus and pita....but thanks to your I will refrain.

Mel - You take it easy and rest when you can, especially with the dust and junk in the air from replacing appliances.

Happy - Hope everything is going okay. Looking forward to catching up with you when you have time. Is your sister going to the beach house with you?

Annie - OUCH! So sorry to hear about your broken arm! I hope you're not in pain. Sending you lots of healing for a quick and complete recovery. :

I'd better get back to the **** that is my workday today.

Lots of love and hugs,

having a 10 minute "power lunch" today. Whatever I can get in my mouth in 10 minutes between meetings is what I get to eat. So no personals I'm afraid.

Annie - geez Louise woman - you should be out of your run of bad luck already. I hope you did not break your dominant arm. Feel better - what a pistol!

The few bits I saw people were raving about The Runaways - especially Dakota Fanning. Enjoy the movie.

We used to have breakfast omlets at work too - but then the chef left Like Michelle said - low points with the veggies and I find that eggs keep you full much longer than breakfast carbs.

Lunch is over - see yah later

Good morning ladies,

This morning's adventure - a root canal. I just hope they give me an extra nudge on the gas. Ah well, in a couple of hours this will all be over and I can gum my lunch.

Chat with you later...

Hi everyone -

I'm so happy the week is half over. Yesterday was a lousy day at work, at home....it just sucked. I did really, really good on keeping the emotional eating at bay. But I just wasn't up to exercising at all last night. Tonight is an hour of advanced Zumba and I'm still not sure if I'm gonna go. I'm really tired, and just feeling "blah".

No time for many personals today....other than:

Happy - I hope the root canal is going well.

Talk to y'all later.

Love and hugs,
Michelle

Hi everyone. I enjoyed the movie last night. It was probably typical of a movie about rock bands - music, drugs & sex. I learned that the movie was based on a book not by Joan Jett, but by Runaways lead singer Cherie Curry, which makes sense because the movie didn't focus entirely on JJ. Michael Shannon was really interesting (in a good way) as the band's producer (agent? manager?). Not surprised - he did a great job when he played the psych patient son of realtor Kathy Bates in the movie Revolutionary Road w/ Kate Winslet & Leo Dicaprio.

Annie - Glad your dominant arm wasn't the one broken. I'm a lefty, but I do many things right handed, so if I lost use of either arm I'd have a bit of trouble. Eat some of those fiber bars!

Ceejay - Hope you made it through work yesterday without too much boredom. I had a meeting w/ my boss for most of the afternoon, so it went by quickly.

Mel - Take care of those peepers! I have tulips on my desktop's background, but you're right, I should post some outdoorsy photos in my cube.

Happy - Oh, root canal. I worked as a dental assistant during college and just assisting on those was no fun. Hope it goes smoothly.

Hellos to Shad & Michelle!

Nothing much else to report. No meetings today. After work, bf and I are dropping off some items to donate to the lab rescue org from which we adopted Coal. They have an annual auction and last year we ended up w/ a couple silent auction items that we're not using and hopefully they can add them to the silent auction or otherwise make use of them. Will also take a dog walk and/or do a workout, time permitting.

I'm sure someone's snuck in while I was trying to finish this post!

Update: I was right - Michelle was the sneaker-inner. I hope you perk up and make it to your Zumba class. You know you'll feel great afterwards - those endorphins do the job!

Cheers!

Laura
Glad you enjoyed he movie.

Happy
ouch on the root canal. Did you make it to work. I don't think I could have.

Michelle
You have been over worked lately. Good for you in taking some time off for yourself.

Not much going on today. I have a district water meeting in Jonesboro, AR tomorrow morning. After this I'm planning on taking the Rav4 in for routine maintenance (75,000 mile check up).

Have a good day tomorrow.

Thought I'd better log in today before anyone thought I was lost. Had a busy day yesterday - went for a job interview, got a call from another recruiter to tell me that she had 3 weeks work for me and would be sending off a contract shortly and got a parking infringement notice for $50. Add to that, the body is complaining about various bits and pieces, the DS2 is complaining about a sore back, and I have had a bill from the road toll company which seems to be twice as much as it ought to be so now I will have to talk to them and argue the case. Today will be a bit of a down day I suspect.

Mel - good to hear that you are coping with the work. I can imagine the mess down behind some of those stoves. You will probably have to get the pest inspector in after this because the cockroaches will be hungry.

Annie - how on earth did you manage to break the arm?? Trying to do to much too fast again.

Michelle - some days are definitely not diamonds. Hope today will be a better look for you.

Happy - Is this root canal punishment for the murder of a hornet?? Feel better soon

Laura - Glad you enjoyed the movie. Good idea donating things to the animal refuges. They can always use money.

Ceejay - hope you have a good day with your meetings etc.

Gotta go. I going to have a down day, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to do anything. I'll get things tidied up around here and then go see if I can track down my hairdresser. She works as a sort of fill in for the various salons in the group and this time I will get her phone number. Last haircut I got in the local salon was a bit of a disaster. Time to get it done again. Crikey it grows fast.

See you all later.

Hooboy, it doesn't rain but it pours. I've had to make a decision because I got both jobs. The decision was should I go for the short job which would pay better or the long term job which doesn't pay as well but has a chance of extension at the end of 6 months - and..... can I really stay at home for 6 months?

So I have contacted the short term job and turned down that job and will start at the other one on Monday.

Last year, I couldn't get one job, now I have two. Sheesh

Congratulations Joy on getting a job. And getting to stay at home to boot! Sunday will be so happy. At least cat happy. This means you get to spend the winter at home Nothing like the promise of steady money to calm the nerves. A nice turn around from your prior bad day. And no, root canal was not punishment for the hornet at it was scheduled long before that bloke showed up.

Root canal went ok, got a twinge of pain across the front of my teeth when I sipped coffee today. Hope that is not an indication of future problems as I have had troubles with my teeth in the past that started with a root canal and ended with deep infections and extractions.

Ceejay - wow you have alot of miles. I have yet to hit 50,000 and my car is a 2002.

Laura - how nice of you to help the puppies out at the rescue organization. So you were a dental assistant? Did this mean you opted to change careers or were you just sort of a layman helper? My dentist office always seems to have new people every time I come in there. Not sure if it's the doctors or people just move around alot.

Wow Michelle - you really REALLY had a bummer yesterday if you didn't Zumba. I hope today is much much better for you

Mel - are you cooking up an omlette this morning? Makes a nice lunch or dinner too with some cool cut up fruit. I think you need a Meliday soon.

Annie - hope you are doing ok and that you have some mobility around that cast. I think we are all wondering what happened. Take care of yourself!

I have to run now... later ladies.
