Picture coming up Mel.

Not much happening here. I have only been cleaning and junking over here so there is nothing new. Miss Puss is trying to untidy my tidy dining room. I'll fix her.

Happy Easter to my Worldlie Chicks!

Church and then off to a farm near Ottawa for Easter Dinner with friends. Both dogs are coming along since these folks have one of my grandpuppies - Hershey's daughter Bailey. It'll be interesting to see how the wee dog deals with first encounters with farm animals and their 14 cats.

Good morning and a happy Easter to you all It looks like it's going to be a gorgeous warm and sunny day out there. I will have to dig up some Easter finery.

Mel - I will enjoy a bite or two of brunch for you. And you enjoy your frap and make sure it's only one. Sip slow. How cute of you to make some Easter treat for Jen and Ritchie. My Mom did the same and it was fun. Getting an Easter basket at age 45 Gotta love Moms

Ceejay - if we are going to have storms then bring them on at 2am and let them go quietly into the dawn. They sure did bring in some good weather behind them. The Rav4 is nice - just doesn't have much for options in it. I prefer sitting just a bit higher in the Highlander. Also there's a bit more room for hauling stuff.

Shad - hope you didn't blow the whole weekend cleaning - there is more than enough time for back to the household routine on Monday. I'm sure Sunday is glad to see you home again.

Laura - good for you for cleaning out the closets. It's the thing I think most of doing but never seem to get to. It's nice to have things neat and tidy again. Enjoy your quiet Easter.

Annie - hope you don't work too hard this weekend - sounds like you are going to be quiet busy. No weekend at all for you. Just don't get run down.

Same for you Michelle - come up out of the chore list and enjoy a little sunshine.

Happy travels Ruth.

We looked at Mazda's yesterday - I did not like but DH did. Looked at the other Toyota dealers too. Not much of a selection. Didn't decide what to do. Another of those niggling hanging things I suppose. I do intend to enjoy brunch though. Have to find something nice and springy to wear. I think DH is not as excited as me. At least he does not have to wear a monkey suit.

Have a good day chicks, check back tomorrow and stay out of the candy!

Hello everyone! It's very quiet here as I sent bf off to the friend's house w/o me. Not in the mood to be social and just want to kick back.

Shad - Yeh, I think kitty wants attention. Hah, she's probably already fixed, right? Idle threat.

Ruth - Hello! Hope you and doggy have had a lovely Easter dinner.

Mel - Awww, Easter goodies. This is the first year I can remember not dyeing some eggs. Just didn't get to it. Would've been more fun than cleaning closets!

Ceejay - The inventor of the self-cleaning house will be a very rich person.

Happy - Hope you enjoyed the brunch.

Michelle - Make sure to save some chores for next weekend.

Hi Annie!

Well, the wind has finally died down - but now rain is on the way. Heard some rumbles of thunder. I used the ripe banans to make banana bread. Two smallish loaves - one will go to work tomorrow.

Off to kick back and finish the latest Robert B. Parker novel.

Afternoon all,
Busy day today. Half of the house has now been spring cleaned. As well I went around to the DS2's other house and sorted some stuff there.

Nothing much else is new. Still hot and steamy. Should be trying to cool down and banish the bugs by now. But it is not.

Hi Ruth - hope you had a nice time at the Hyper Pypers. 14 cats!!! good lord. I have trouble with one.

Ceejay - Don't know about Miss Puss being glad I am home. More like - how dare you neglect ME like this.

Happy - Not overdoing it. There is an entire spring clean to be done. One room at a time. Can't be bothered with doing the whole lot in one day.

Laura - Banana bread. Gimme some. Love banana cake and bread.

Bed calls. I will be talking to Mel tomorrow so if it gets windy around your way, maybe we are talking about you.

See you

Good morning all,

Brunch was delicious but probably not worth the high price. It was a nice afternoon though. Came home and napped some and did some laundry and cleaned out a few drawers. Nice relaxing pace. Now back to reality.

Mel that is terrible about Ritchie - didn't even make any money and has to shell out replacement tools. People are getting horrid.

Shad sounds like you are back in the groove again. I think the weather is wacky. It was a long winter here and then it warmed up fast and quick. All the trees are blooming - purples, whites, pinks and yellows. My azaleas out back are ready to pop and although I worried about the ice affecting them, seems like we will have gorgeous blooms this year.

Laura - I'll take a piece of that bananna bread and coffee too!

I have to go dig up something to take for lunch - be back later.

GOod Monday Morning to All....

Hope everyone had a marvelous Easter Weekend. It was bright and sunny yesterday, however I was inside working at CVS 11-7 pm. That part sucked. I volunteered to go out and sweep the entire parking lot, but no dice...lol and SERIOUSLY people..it is NOT CHristmas, stay home and enjoy your family while you can. DO NOT go shopping at CVS. It was nuts in there yesterday. I hit cash high on my register twice. We don't EVER hit that, only in the Christmas season. CVS raked in the bucks. I did sleep like a rock last night, forgot to set my alarm, but woke up on my own at 5:30 am, just half hour later than I needed, but made it to work on time.

Not doing personals, boss came in with a sh*tty mood going on and taking it out on me. I am not in the mood to deal with her, so it could be fireworks today.

Have a marvy Monday.

Love and hugs.

Happy Easter Monday ladies -

I am SO ready to abolish all ailments. I worked on tidying up the yard on Friday since it was so gorgeous outside. I Zumba'ed my butt off on Friday night and Saturday morning. Ran errands most of the day Saturday, despite feeling a little feverish and dizzy. Spent yesterday morning doing website work, and then took a loooong nap yesterday afternoon. In other words, I completely hit the wall and was down for the count after dinner at around 5:30. I woke up briefly at 10, but then back to sleep. I apologized to DH for being such poor company on Easter. He didn't mind cuz he napped on and off too. I guess we both needed the rest. I'm feeling better today, though I've still got a little chest congestion...oooops, I know I'll get the as we're not supposed to have any ailments this month. The verdict is still out on whether I'm gonna Zumba tonight...part of me wants to, and part of me just wants to sleep.

I did get to Kohl's on Saturday and got some great deals: a pair of slacks, a pair of jeans, two tops, undies and socks for $70 (and that was before my employee discount)!

Also, another bit of good news. We've been going back and forth on which painter to select...the inexpensive one that has no testimonials and no references...or the expensive guy ($1,000 more) who comes HIGHLY recommended by a coworker whose opinion I trust. All the other bids were fairly close to the expensive guy, and if we had to choose between almost expensive and expensive...we'd defer to the one my coworker recommended. The question was always...how do we justify $1,000 more when even the cheap guy would take more than our tax return and it would mean taking on lots of website projects. So yesterday, my DH is going through Saturday's mail. I was upstairs doing website stuff. He tells me to come down right away. He was holding a check from our escrow...apparently our property taxes and homeowners insurance (both of which are included in our mortgage payment) had gone down. Anyway, the escrow check more than covers the difference in the painting estimates....so we're going with the highly recommended, albeit expensive, guy! I talked with my coworker this morning, and explained the situation to her...and she confirmed that the guy she recommended is definitely worth an extra $1,000. She's used him twice for painting and he's done an excellent job both times. Phew, that windfall check is a big relief. Now we can put the website work money toward paying down credit cards.

Shad - Did your DS2 go away for holiday? Where did he go? I travel vicariously through others, dontcha know. Good for you for standing up straight and engaging your core to support your back. My back sometimes yells reminders at me to do the same. Thanks for posting the photos of the gorgeous flowers! Absolutely lovely! Are crocuses have bloomed, as have a couple daffodils. And the robins are back. Yay, spring! So Sunday likes to "help" you clean, huh? My doggies love to help too...that is until I pull out the vacuum cleaner, then they run and hide. It's been very windy here all weekend...have you and Mel started talking about me already?

Laura - I was able to check the organization book out of the library, though I haven't started it yet. I'd like to finish reading Twilight first. But since DMIL will be coming here for her summer visit in just 5 short weeks, I'd better get started on the cleaning/organization. How cool that you have a document shredding day coming up. I hope to find one around here soon. That will alleviate a lot of the clutter. Good for you for tackling closet clutter and itemizing it for taxes! You rock! And now that you're done with your closets, can you do mine after you do Ceejay's that is? We had some wicked wind most of the weekend...along with some rain on Saturday, but the bigger storms are predicted for tonight and tomorrow.

Annie - Sorry you had to work so hard on the weekend. I hope you were compensated well for working on the holiday. And I hope your boss' mood (and your day) improves.

Happy - I totally understand what you mean about holidays losing their meaning when you live away from family. Even though DH's aunt and uncle live fairly close, they don't celebrate very many holidays. Glad you enjoyed a delicious brunch. I love my Corolla and DH loves his 4Runner, but he says the new 4Runner is too big for his needs and a Rav 4 is too small. He's been thinking about a Highlander, but worries it may have more of a passenger car/van chassis, rather than a truck chassis. I do like sitting up higher in the 4Runner. I might get a Rav4 for my next car. We'll see. Hopefully, we don't have to get new cars anytime soon.

Mel - I tried doing FlyLady...but just never got in the groove. I am trying to break the big job of cleaning for DMIL's visit into smaller bits that I can do each day and on the weekends. When you're done with the bulldozer and cleaning crew, can you please send the to my home? That is so sweet that you do Easter treats for Jen and Richie. That is awful about Richie's locker being broken into! Glad he was able to get tools on Easter Sunday and get to work today.

Ceejay - Glad the landlord is getting your work orders addressed. I hope it doesn't result in a rent increase. Like you, Ceejay, I hate to live in clutter...but it seems I'm always too busy or too ill or having pains to clean little by little...so then when I do clean, it's a much bigger job.

Ruth - Sounds like you had a lovely and fun Easter with your friends, farm animals, dogs and 14 cats! Never a dull moment for Ruthie!

I should probably get some work done, though I'd rather be at the Milwaukee Brewers Opening Day of the baseball season.
