Morning all

Fell in while working in backyard. Tripped backward over decor stone. Broke bone between elbow and shoulder, right near the shoulder before socket. No cast, too high up, start therapy the 19th, 3X a week for 4 wks. Stayed home yesterday, hurting too much, yeah vicodin. Dad in hosp Tues night home yesterday morning. Vertigo. Mom in hospital last night, sugar 34 in coma. She is stable now, has infection throughout body. Aggressively treating her with 2 antibiotics through IV. Complete meltdown last night when I got home from hospital. Slept ok, better than the past few days. Life sucks, I suck,

Chelle...pick yourself up and get some endorphins going sista. Don't make me bop you with my good arm. lol

Shad...congrats on job. Good to be home.

MEL...eye probs be gone!!

Ceejay,..hey to you

Ceejay – hope the meeting is short and sweet and your car checks out okay.

Shad – Congrats on the job, and being able to stay in town! Did you locate your hairdresser?

Happy – Glad the root canal went okay. I hope you don’t have any bad aftereffects from it. I was just a laymen helper when I was a dental assistant. I did assisting, and I also did some of the front office work too. There were a couple assistants who worked in that office who had completed a dental assisting program, but I think one of the dentists just wanted cheap help, lol. For me it was just a part-time job during college.

Annie – Not a good day yesterday. I hope today is better. And you don’t suck!! Not sure I can say the same about this point in your life – we have to get that black cloud away from your general vicinity!!! Sorry to hear about your mom and dad's hospital visits. Glad your dad’s back home and hope your mom’s infection is clearing.

Hellos to Mel & Michelle!

Dropped off the donation items for the rescue last night. The volunteer had one dog of her own and was also fostering one. Both were big friendly labby galoots. Back at home, I did one BE workout. Dinner was tacos, tv was American Idol - watched Tuesday’s show and the results show. My town’s guy Lee D. is still in it! Those who make it to the top 3 get a parade in their home towns. How fun would that be?!

Today feels like it should be Friday. Well it’s not. Boo. Tomorrow the boss is out, so at least it’ll be a nice quiet Friday at work. Today’s payday though, so yay for that. Tonight I hope to get in a dogwalk and a BE workout. We’re probably having steaks on the grill for dinner tonight.
That’s about it. Have a good rest of Thursday/Friday!!

Hi everyone -

I'm doing better today. I skipped Zumba last night and decided to chillax. But I did take a walk. Tonight is Zumba, strength training and abs. Tomorrow night is an hour of Zumba. And I'm really excited...me and a few ladies from my Zumba class are going to a Zumbathon in Oshkosh Saturday night. It's 2 hours of Zumba led by instructors from Wisconsin, Illinois, New York and Ohio to raise money for Family Services Wisconsin to help prevent child abuse. It should be a fun, sweatin' good time! I'm not sure I can do 2 straight hours of Zumba, but it will be fun trying, and it's for a good cause.

I had my weigh in today...and I stayed the same - no gain, no loss. Sorry everyone. Hopefully Shad won't make us wait until next week for the surprise.

Mel - I hope the eyes are doing better today.

Happy - Glad the root canal went okay...and I hope the tooth sensitivity subsides.

Shad - Congrats on the new job! So nice that you get to stay home for awhile.

Laura - How good of you to help out the rescue organization! Steaks on the grill sound delish! What time should I be there?

Annie - Wow! You really did a number on your arm! I hope your dad and mom are both doing better. You don't suck, my friend...sometimes the crap hits us all at once. I hope things improve for you.

Well, I'd better get back to it.

Love and hugs,

mel
as long as you keep coming here you don't have to do personals. just wave.

michelle
The zumba marathon sounds like fun and great exercise also.

Annie
Sounds like you may have broken your arm in the same place as my sister did. She didn't have to have a cast but she did have to have a brace and wrapped and in a sling. i'm astonished that you went to work.

Shad
i'm happy for you in accepting the job close to home. it will be nice for a change. There is no place like home.

Happy
an encounter with any type of wasp, hornet, bee would send me into a tizzy. i'm the one who has to deal with those kind of things but it still doesn't make it easy just more cautious.

my trip to jonesboro was good. this meeting was our drinking water contest. and of all things i couldn't find my card. We are in transition of swipeing our cards rather than signing our john handcock. of course we didn't win but it's all in fun. the winner has won three years in a row. the uncle i visit has water from this system.

went to jcpenny's in the mall and bought three much needed tops.one top was buy one get the second for .88 cents. also stopped by the hair salon there and got my hair cut.

Good morning all,

I slept in this morning so I'm running a bit late. I'm meeting a friend for lunch so I won't be able to post until much later. Hoping you all have a good Friday.

I am taking Monday and Tuesday off to tackle this house in advance of company - can see vacation and the beach house right around the bend! So even though it's going to be a very busy long work weekend for DH and I, at least we are off and hopefully I can feel some sense of accomplishment.

Love to the chicks, time to commute now. Later

TGIF fo sho!

I had a great time at strength training class and Zumba last night. Tonight is an hour of Zumba. Saturday evening, some friends and I are going to a 2 hour Zumbathon to benefit Family Services Wisconsin and help prevent child abuse. I'm not sure I'm ready for 2 hours of Zumba since I can barely make it through an hour. But I'm sure it will be a ton of fun!! I'm really looking forward to it.

Annie - I hope the pain is less today. Hang in there, sista!

Mel - Glad you're earning extra cash and bigger and better appliances for the kids. Don't worry about the personals...we'll catch ya' on Sunday or next week. I hope you have some time to rest and relax this weekend.

Ceejay - Sorry you didn't win the contest. Good for you for getting some new clothes and a haircut! Always nice to treat yourself.

Happy - When do you leave for the beach house? I'll bet you're so excited. How nice to be able to take a couple days off to get the house in order for company.

A big to all!

Love and hugs,

Mel – Extra money is good, just don’t overdo it. Very nice to have a hot meal to come home to! Speaking of appliances, our state is sponsoring a 15% discount on large appliances (up to $400), starting today, so I’ve read that the stores will be packed with buyers. I hope the retailers don’t get stuck waiting forever for the reimbursements from the state – IL is broke and a notoriously slow payer. I heard other states are doing this – is NJ one of them?

Ceejay – Sounds like a productive trip yesterday. I saw that ad for JCP w/ the buy one, get one for 88 cents. Good deal! I’m sorely in need of new everything in my wardrobe, head to toe. Maybe I'll get over to the JCP at the mall. I rarely go into, let alone shop at Ann Taylor Loft, but yesterday I was passing by at lunchtime and popped in for the heck of it. Very disconcerting that I had to look very hard to find even a couple pairs of slacks over a size 10! It became a game. Didn’t buy anything. Not really my style, and it’s expensive to boot.

Happy – Enjoy lunch w/ your friend, and your long weekend (in spite of the cleaning). How’s the foot doing? Take it easy on it!

Michelle – Enjoy your Zumba tonight and the Zumbathon tomorrow! I’m sure you can go longer than you think, just pace yourself.

Shad - Has it cooled off any down under?

Annie – Wishing you a pain-free weekend!

Not much going on today. The boss is out, so it’s nice and quiet. She’s working from home for the morning and then off to the airport for a trip. I’m expecting her usual call from the airport… Last night we took doggy for a walk, and then I did one BE workout. I also did a minute or so with the hula hoop. Not having played w/ a hula hoop as a kid, I thought the hard part was just getting it going and keeping it going around my midsection. Little did I know that it could be cardiovascular in nature (for me, anyway), and that it really requires me to tighten up my abs. So it’s a good exercise and I’m trying to work up my time on it.

Nothing special tonight, probably watching a movie on dvd. Saturday we’re going to the library’s book sale, and then to our town’s historical society. I read an article about an exhibit and it listed the museum’s hours only on weekdays. I’ve lived here 10 years and never visited because of this, so I finally sent an e-mail to them asking if they have any weekend hours coming up and it just so happens they do this weekend because of a quilt exhibit. Nothing else firmly planned, but there’s plenty of organizing to tackle. And I need to drop off the donation stuff I packed up last weekend (or was that the weekend before?).

Okay, enough rambling. Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm having a two-course lunch today. The first course, which I had at my usual lunch time was a dish of grilled veggies and a little hummus with pita triangles. The second course will be a big salad. At 1 pm on Fridays, the salad bar goes half price so that they can get rid of the veggies and don't have them sitting in the fridge potentially going bad over the weekend.

DH needs to work on my car tonight, so I can't get to Zumba. He saw a oil spot on the driveway where my car was parked. Hopefully it was just spilled when he changed the oil last week, but he wants to make sure I don't have a leak. I'll still get a workout tonight taking stuff up and down the stairs for the donation/recycling trips tomorrow.

Tomorrow, DH is donating some old computer parts to Goodwill and to our town's Clean Sweep recycling day. I'm going to the doc shredding event and dropping off the dogs at the groomers, then I have a meeting with a website client. I should be home by noon...and then leave about 4:45 for the Zumbathon.

Laura - Hula hooping is awesome for the ab muscles! I tried it on the Wii Fit, and didn't do so well. Maybe I'd do better with the real thing. I used to hula hoop as a kid...but never really paid much attention to how much I had to tighten my core muscles. Enjoy your quiet day at work. Your weekend sounds really nice. Have a great time!

Ceejay - Have fun in the sun!

Morning all,
I've just realised I didn't post yesterday. Sheez, if I don't post first thing in the morning, I don't seem to get back to do it all.

Yesterday was fairly busy with hairdressers, a bit of shopping, housework and cooking. The freezer is now full of lunches and dinners for the DS2 and some muffins and quiche type things for me. I'm trying not to buy lunches when I go to work since it not only costs money, but I have no idea what might be in the dish and sure as heck if it tastes good, then it will not be diet friendly.

Mel - poor man. Can't have a loss of blood spoiling his good looks can we? Glad to hear that everyone is holding it together and you are keeping strong. The slow guy probably just wants the job to go for a little longer since he probably doesn't have anything else lined up for afterwards.

Michelle - nothing like stairs to get the old heart pumping. Nice of the DH to be so concerned about the oil spill. Wish we had a document shredding day. My little shredder only takes about 70 pages and then has to cool down. Makes me realise that I should do it more often - not that I take any notice of that.
And yes, you will have to wait till you get to the weight of Annies challenge before you get the surprise. Hurry up will ya!

Ceejay - hope you remembered to slip, slop and slap before you wandered out into the sunshine. Can't have a burnt ceejay around the joint. Hula hoop?? Send photos of you using one please

Laura - doesn't it really annoy you when you go into a shop and there is nothing larger than a size 10. It really gets up my nose. Once I went into a snooty store and couldn't find anything above and 8 and asked the equally snooty saleswomen if they had anything in stock for normal sized people. She wasn't amused. I really can't figure out why when the 'average' Australian woman is a size 14, why you would have a limited range of stock. Okay, well maybe all the well heeled are under sized at 8 or less. They certainly must be hungry!

Happy - that holiday is coming around fast. Hope it doesn't go as fast and you get time to enjoy the company. Saw the DH on facebook yesterday. First time I have seen him for ages.

Annie - those first few days of a broken bone are indeed painful. Rest up and hope that the repair work starts soon and goes fast.

Right, I've laid around in bed this morning because I couldn't be bothered getting up. I've been woken up by a rotten headache for three days in a row in the wee hours of the morning. Today, I just let nature take over and slept in. Can't do much of that after next Wednesday when work begins again. Don't think I said too much about the job. I will be working for an energy company who are implementing Oracle around their assets. They have some fairly remote assets which I as the training manager (more or less) will have to visit from time to time. So there will be travel involved on occasions. Seems I will be sweet talking management into some sort of agreement on how things are to go. Naturally enough since some of these people are engineers, they will have some definite ideas of their own, but I shall fish out my poster that says - FROM TIME TO TIME ONE HAS TO SHOOT THE ENGINEERS AND SIMPLY GET ON WITH THE PROJECT. Once that is sorted, there will be training documentation and business processes to be written and distributed. Could be busy - especially since I really don't know much about Oracle. New challenges abound.

Having said that, I'm off to sweep the floors and get on with the side garden project. See ya
