Good morning ladies,

Had to use my free time this morning to read over some papers about DH's pension that we have to make a decision on. So no time to post.

For the life of me, I couldn't remember what day it was today. I knew it was a work day, but which one? I'm losing it...

Hellos to all, will try and get back later.

MEL...That's it. We will open an internet cafe'. I will do the grunt work you can do the mental/phone work. We can invite SHAD over for free internet and serve her up some grubb. Waddaya say to that? Keep on pedaling chickie. I am so proud of you keeping up with me and Ms. Chelle. I would go anywhere as long as Tony could come along, he is so much fun. Not too hard on the eyes either.

SHAD....ew worms...yuck, I have seen many of them come through my garden but none so far on my puter, knock on wood.

Happy....good luck with the pension papers, it is mostly jibberous to me.

Michelle must be having lots of fun with DMIL. Work seems to be keeping her pretty busy too.

May check in later today.........

Love and Hugs

Mel, I have an idea. Remember the Peanuts cartoon where Lucy set up a stand and charged for advice? You could do the same. Except when people complained or told you their sad story, you could look them in the eye, say WTF - GET OVER YOURSELF YOU BIMBO/FOOL/COOT (take your pick). I will be behind the box on the floor in giggle fits of laughter. I don't think opening an Internet cafe in your place is a good idea because then you'd have to teach the seniors how to use a computer. That would be fun - NOT!!!!

I'm a little nervous about those dormant worms myself. Saw something on 20/20 news show and the thing that scared me was how they can pick up your ids and passwords. We had one of those worms on our work computers. Kind of puts me off about online shopping actually.

Shad - some of the people here use their cell phones as a sort of Internet modem. It's mostly the ones who travel alot or have a home based business. Not sure if that is feasible for you - do you travel with your own laptop?

I tried the Greek yogurt today - lowfat so not the horrendous calorie exchange of the other but I wasn't all that impressed. Even with putting in fresh blueberries and strawberries. Next is the Aussie brand which I can't tell you the name of - they said it was much thinner than the Greek stuff or even our more popular Yankee brands.

Last night we went to a CONA meeting - Council of Neighborhood Associations. It was quite interesting even if we didn't get out until 9pm. The police gave a report mostly petty theft of credit and ATM cards in this economy. The mayor talked about another evil plot going on with the city of Memphis - worse than politics in Chicago. We also got a review of the city's proposed budget and planned improvements. We agreed we should go more often, just to stay informed. This homeowners thing is taking up alot of time. 2 evening meetings next week. In the meantime, my closets go uncleaned...

I wish we could take (short) naps at work like kindergartner's I would bring my own blankie

Oops, I'm being summoned - dang did they hear my nap comment?

Hellos to Annie, Ceejay, Michelle, Patty, Jolly

Finally, an internet connection that I don't have to take a mortgage out on.

Well it is Saturday in Sydney and I have been to to the markets and stocked up on fresh fruit and vege, meat, fish and chicken and now just need to do a grocery shop and I am good to go for a week or more.

The DB2 rung yesterday to say that the baby's full name is Savannah Marie which I think goes together well. Of course her aunts and uncles will probably call her squirt or button or popsy which I don't think will worry the mother too much but will send the grandmother insane. Nothing like a bit of insanity in the family.

The job is going along okay. I managed to shut the system down the first day with the worm and no one knows how I got it. The computer was brand new. All virus checks and patches were up to date and still it was there luriking in the background. They took the computer away and are having 'discussions' with Symantec as to how the virus got in. Apparently one of the IT guys tried to be nice and stick my work from the first day on a USB and the worm blew that to pieces. Goodbye USB.
Several of us are having problems with wording on our contracts and will refuse to sign off on them. But apart from that we are going along okay. Not great just okay.

I'm meeting up with a friend at lunch time which is why I am typing so fast, I need to get some groceries and a shower and some breakfast once I get through here. I might have to do some running.

Since I have been down here, I have decided to go all out for the next six weeks to try to shift osme of this weight, so I am challenging myself to eat well, drink water and exercise for the next six weeks. I may go over to Red's thread and put it on there. I have to do something to get rid of this flab, which keeps inviting the friends in.

And that is about it really.

I see the psychiatrist is in. I may need a couch appointment soon. Cities do that to me.

Happy - Greek yoghurt is usually very thick and creamy. I like the stuff. It has more body and soul. We get some good ones here. They make the best cooking variety as well. Hope you have the pension sorted soon.

Annie - by all means take Tony with you to open the commune with Mel. I'll get there eventually. I'll give lessons to the olds. They are fun to work with. I had 4 old folk that I taught computer to some years back. The old lady was brilliant and 2 of the men were good as well. The last one only wanted to look at the porn sites - he was the youngest (he explained to me) and he felt left out in the cold. He was only 81 and far from past his prime.

Michelle - glad to hear the back is feeling better. Keep watching carefully and doing things gently.

Ceejay - sorry you had to work on Memorial Day Weekend, but we have to do what we have to do.

Sorry if I have missed anyone, but I need to go. My hour will be up soon.

Hello ladies,

Sorry i've haven't posted in a while. Things have been pretty busy. I went out of town over Memorial Weekend. High School Graduation and a Baptismal. I'm a godmother. It was really hard to stay on the Jenny program while i was out of town, lots of good food. I did my best, but now it's time to get back on track.

Shad - Sydney! Can you keep that job for another year, and I'll come visit ya. Have to gather funds So what is your exercise plan for the next 6 weeks? I need to get some of this weight off too.

Ceejay - this whole week has been a blurr.

Happy - hope you were able to make heads or tails from the hubby's pension.

Mel - hope the kids get to come in. Enjoy your weekend!

Annie - What all did you plant?

Mitchellez - Hope you had a good workout. Take it slow.

Hi all,

Was sitting on the patio having coffee this morning and the baby birds decided to leave the nest. There were 5 in all. We had to help 2 of them a bit. One was a real straggler and hid in the pompus grass up by the pool and was too weak/too dumb? to get in the tree with the rest of the babies. I hope it makes it - we did all we could to help them. I have some pictures I will post later.

Lot's to do today - we were a bit delayed getting started as we sat on the patio and waited for the babies to get to safety. Had to leave our cat in the house and thank goodness the other stragglers weren't out.

The hot weather has set in. Will finish planting tomorrow - lots of errands to run today. We'll be having the pool opened soon. Should be warm enough now to warm up the water.

Not sure what happened this year but there don't seem to be any vegetable plants to be found. I know I didn't miss them but all there are is flowers and we looked in several places. I'm not planning on planting a vegetable garden this year but I did want to get some parsley plants as the butterflies use that to lay their eggs and was hoping to see more baby butterflies again. I might have to resort to growing from seeds.

Anyway - have to get moving here. Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Hey all. So glad it is the weekend. I need a nap! Did go and get a good workout in this morning, but food is still way off. I now need energy to clean and do my nails

STRESS I should finally get grades next week. I also should find out more about house. My sister had a "glitch" with her house closing - she signed all the papers, paid her $$$, but they couldn't give her the keys. WTF? And everyone is asking me? Ive never bought a house, and I wasn't there to ask questions for her. She is a big girl, and doesn't need me to run interference.

Anyway, enough about that. Enjoy your weekends everyone!

Morning all,
I'm back in the internet cafe, which is a misnomer as there really is not cafe, but that's okay. I had a coffee before I left the building.

Yesterday I met up with a friend from Jakarta days and we went out to a place called Palm Beach. Unfortunately it rained most of the time, but it was an interesting day. We couldn't walk up to the lighthouse (up the hill) because of the weather. Raining is not so bad but slippery slopes is another ball game.
So today, I am going out to Darling Harbour which is a sort of toursit attraction down here. I'll visit the Chinese Garden, the Powerhouse museum and maybe a couple of other attractions depending on the changing weather etc. Then I might browse through Paddy's Market and pretend Happy is with me so we can kill ourselves laughing at the tacky souvenirs. I might even take a photo of what I consider to be the tackiest. She who loves the picture most, may well get the item for Christmas!

Mel - glad to hear you are feeling chirpy and bright. Hope it lasts for ever. I hear you had Prince Harry in NYC this week. That would have been a great thrill for the girls, specially since he is considered to be Diana's love child. Such is life.

Happy - are you trying to upset the balance of nature with the bird aid??? Did you get that pension sorted out for the boy??

Patty - better come on over now. I don't know how long my temper will last in this city. Everything is expensive, crowded, noisy and arrogant. Melbourne is much nicer. Winter has hit Brisbane and it is now the perfect time of the year to visit the Reef and the tropical north.

Jolly - hope the grades go well and the house is unconditionally yours. I've jheard some funny tales about the real estate market over there. Aaaah well. I suppose everyone has to get as much as they can out of what they can. It seems that Las Vegas is badly hit. We had a Current Affairs doco on that last week and if you only believe a quarter of what they tell you, then it is still not good for the people.

So now, I am off to buy some new knickers and then down to Darling Harbour. I might even take a trip on the Mono Rail to see where I want to go next.

See you.

Just a quick check in. We're going to go fishing soon. Yesterday took DMIL to a Civil War museum in Kenosha that she'd heard about. It was a very nice museum and we all learned more than we ever learned in History class. Turns out Kenosha also has a nice Dinosaur and Fossil museum...we'll check that out another time. We drove back along Lake Michigan, which is such a big body of water, it's almost like the ocean in that you can't see across, etc.

The workout Thursday went okay. I could only do about 10 minutes on the bike before the pain flared up. After the 10 minute bike ride, I did a light strength training class that went well. On Friday, I had a great deep tissue massage to try and help some of the muscles relax and release the knots...I just wish they would stay relaxed and released. PLEASE RELEASE ME....LET ME GO.... Perhaps I should sing that to my muscles!

I asked my PT if I could try the recumbent stepper again and she said to try it, but stop if it causes me pain. She also wants me to try a water aerobics class (offered at the gym on Monday and Wednesday evenings).

Love and hugs to all,

Guess we need a new thread for the month. I'll be back to fix that soon. Meantime feel free to just get on with it. I'll have to put some thought into the June thread name anyway.
