When one of my pupsickles was teeny tiny he fell out of my shoulder bag.... onto a stone floor!! I was headed to friends' for dinner and was bringing them along. I had such guilt about the injury to my dog that out of guilt I let him taste some ice cream. Of course he ate about 3/4cup. stoopid me!

Later that night he was up all night with really bad doggie diarreaha (sp?) and I thought he had internal trauma from the fall. I rushed him to the NY Animal Hospital at 3:30am and had him seen. They pretty much thought I was a lunatic. Needless to say, I now hold back on all real dairy products for dogs.

Re: shaky screens and motion sickness, how about some of those tv shows with moving cameras? Makes me want to barf!

have a smooth monday...

It is Leo's fault. Somehow.

It is plague of the knee injuries here. Two weeks ago at the self defense class, I wrecked my right hamstring. It healed, but now tendonitis in the left is painful and snapping (though that is better sounding than the grinding from the other injury). I have had to modify my workouts. I am doing one sustained lunge or squat instead of repeating with each lift. Elliptical for cardio.

Food was stupid Saturday. Trail mix! I know I cannot say no to nuts, but I buy it "for the kids" but then realize that the two or three pieces here and there over the day add up to a full cup! Boooo!

Instant gratification is often my downfall in oh so many areas.
Lucy - When I first got my Darcy Dog I had to go to one of the pet stores to pick up supplies for her. I put her in the car as she was still somewhat small. The poor dear freaked and jumped over the side of the shopping car and fell on the asphalt. I felt like the world's worst doggie mom and knew I was going to be a total failure! Luckily I turned out not to be ;)
Anna - Get thyself healed woman!

I ate way toooo much last night. Tried to journal to figure out why. Not sure still. Also I didn't run last night as I had planned. We took the dogs on a 35 minute walk and I learned my buttocks were quite sore and I didn't feel like another run while sore. Fail and Fail.

Trying to rectify things today:
breakfast - smoothie
snack - almonds
lunch - pasta
dinner - not sure again but will stick to calories today

You know what my dogs love? They love Romaine lettuce hearts, the stuff closest to the stem part, that is mostly white. Even my Shepherd who gives me evil looks when I treat her to veggies loves it.

Today's Plan:

Exercise: Ran 5.31 miles
Food:
Bagel with smart bal, coffee
Black bean burrito and veggies on side
Boca burger and big salad

Asparagus, carrots and grape tomatoes are the real winners at our house. Fruit they're a little pickier on. Both love apples.

Ice and not being stupid (also called "rest" in some circles) do amazing work. I am going to get on the elliptical again tonight and try not to run until Friday.

egg/toast/coffee with silk creamer
salad of some sort
tortilla pizza
no afternoon snack
roasted chicken and asparagus

My dogs are cheap and easy. They love ice. They come running when they hear us using the ice dispenser.

Yesterday's treadmill time was kind of a drag. I guess my legs were tired from my all day housecleaning on Sunday. I did stay on for an hour and I did increase the incline to 8%, but wogging wasn't happening. Today, I'm very tired from being up with a sick child all night, but I do plan on getting on the treadmill for another hour and, hopefully, do the wogging.

Today is a 1500 calorie day.

Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs and a cup of Chocolate Silk
Snack - Tangelo and cheese stick
Lunch - Lean Cuisine, Butternut Squash Ravioli
Snack - Yogurt
Dinner - Yellow curry with veggies over quinoa
Snack - Weight Watchers Key Lime Pie

Was over on the intake a little last night but not in a bad way. In a fairly average way.

Today is not off to the greatest start but I can balance it out.
B - muffin
L - salad
S - fruit
D - wrap

zinkemomx2 04-28-2009 01:32 PM

Had a field trip with the kids today. We saw Pied Piper of Hameline in opera. That was fun....not.

B - oatmeal, fruit, flax, almonds
S - pb Ritz crackers on the bus
L - hummus and lots of veggies
D - again I have no clue but I will figure something out

My schnauzer eats everything and has never turned his nose up, ever. The shepherd is a tougher sell.

Mine love ice, too, but I'm afraid of they will fracture or break off a tooth. I only give them ice from my glass when it is on the verge of being all crumbly.

Well, according to my journal I am now entering the witching hour -- all my extra snacks start hopping into my mouth between now and bedtime. And I'm tired of peeing all night long from sucking down so much water in an attempt not to eat stuff. I gotta just stop putting anything in my mouth, period. Hear that mouth? You are closed for business.

You should spend the hours of 4-8 making out....

Wow, am I helpful?

Food is dead on today. Hopefully the rain will cause a cancellation of W's baseball practice and I can go to the gym.

Mrs Snark 04-28-2009 04:34 PM

My husband probably won't be home til 9 pm tonight.

I guess I can make out with my hand. Unless you're volunteering to snog with me?

onthetee 04-28-2009 04:40 PM

You know....I am supportive enough that I might. ;) I probably could not do it everyday, though.

Good food day! Went to the gym and ellipticized for 35 minutes. 350 calories I no longer have to worry about.
