Why do they not allow headphones? What happens if you wear them anyway?

I'm back on-plan today. I lost my way for a bit. I think it's because I stopped using my visualization techniques.

Today is a 1500 calorie day
Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs, ww toast, Chocolate silk
Snack - Tangelo and cheese stick

I am kinda worried about my 5k end of this month but we'll see. I also read it on the site that we cannot have headphones and

Have a wonderful day everyone :)

The few races I have run the recommendation is that one should run w/o headphones or earpieces but I see many many many people wearing them.

and I echo the have a good day!

I am still waiting on potential new job info......

Anj - I'd have issues without headphones too. Sneak em in ;)

Billie - Welcome back to the wagon.

Lucy - Keep us posted on the job....

Things are still going well over here.... No exercise since the run Saturday, I've even been taking the bus in to work the past couple mornings since I've been getting up too late. At least I still get the mile walk home that way. Except for some dark chocolate covered almonds yesterday, food as been OP.... so that's good...... still trucking along.

I'm so glad that today is a new day. My head is having a difficult time getting back on track. I must do this! This past weekend, I bought 3 lovely shirts in a smaller size. They would be lovely to wear on my trip to Greensboro next month, but they are a little snug.

Anj - What's the deal with no headphones? Though I must say my first race I didn't wear them because I wasn't sure what race protocol was and I did fine.
Lucy- fingers still crossed for you!
Rhonda - Don't backslide this time!

I've either done well with food or done well with exercise this week. Now, if we could just get both good on one day it would be a Christmas miracle.

Remind me never to try to compromise with a sweet tooth and purchase anything labelled "sugar free." My tummy hates me right now. Ugggggh.

Today I have eaten...
Strawberries, blueberries, lf yogurt, granola
Salad with black beans, celery, onion, tomato, light ranch
sugar-free chocolate (ugggg)
Beer.

I am not sure what part of my brain called for beer for dinner on a weird stomach. I was cleaning the bedroom and came across the book L sent me and threw it in the trash with fervor... And took out the trash... And wanted a beer. (So that's what I decided, toss the book out and never speak of it again.) I really have nothing in the house I want to eat at this point, if it comes down to it I'll probably have toast and PB. Have been wholly uninspired with cooking lately...

Food = FAIL
Run = FAIL

Walked with the preschoolers to DQ and then to the park where we played. I got an upper body workout holding them so they could go across the monkey bars. Some of those kids are heavy.

suitejudyblueeyes 05-15-2009 09:29 AM

Some activity is better than no activity, Billie. You should be running now, so all's well...... :)

Ended up having a sammich last night as I got hungry around 9 and planned on being up for another 3 hours. Weight is slowly going down, saw a 183.something today.... Now that I know I am making consistent (if slow) progress again I'm going to ban morning weigh-ins for myself. They always throw me off. I am better as a big-picture kind of girl, even if big-picture means just over the course of a week.... it does help. I think I'll take the batteries out of the scale and hide them. Won't have time in the morning to run around finding them... And will eventually get used to not weighing in as part of a habit.........

Official meeting WI happens tomorrow, will not be back down to the 181 I was last time I was at a meeting, but I will be close-ish. Better than 187 like I was a couple weeks ago.

Run = WIN
Food = not nearly as bad yesterday as I thought it was going to be.

Today I need to get off my duff and go clean the kids rooms. I was hoping to do it while they were at grammas but we ended up coming back here instead. They already picked a few things out to get rid of. I warned them that a whole bunch of stuff was going into storage/hiding to see if they really want it.

Off to eat yummy chili for lunch.

This site seems to be back under control, I guess?

Billie --Great job running, I can't wait for you to do your race and tell us all about it!

Jaime -- that's great that you are back down, you'll be even lower than that previous weigh-in before you know it!

I'm currently on a roll saying "No" to my husband fetching junk or snacking on junkie extra calories when we are together. I'm now actually moving into the phase where I don't seethe with jealousy and resentment as I sit next to him and watch the chips and dips and crackers and popcorn and booze go down. Thank goodness, because I hate having those feelings. I keep reminding myself that this is *my* choice and I've stopped *****ing about it out loud all the time. Yay me.

Mrs Snark 05-17-2009 08:00 AM

Morning ladies!

Today is going to be a great day, yes? Yes.

On the agenda:

Homework
Cycle
Mow backyard

So You Think You Can Dance starts this week, that show is always inspiring to me and makes me want to move my body. Too bad I look psychotic when I try to dance.

zinkemomx2 05-17-2009 10:43 AM

Food will be on plan today. I swear.

Exercise. I'll be running in just a bit. I wish the winds would die down. But on the positive side it'll keep the bugs away. I'll also be working on the garden bed after lunch.

Jo - I hope you have a great first day of school tomorrow. :book2:

kittycat40 05-18-2009 10:50 AM

Hi senoritas.

Billie, did you get the windy run in? That always hurts my ears.
Jo, SCHOOL? HOMEWORK?? yowza, whatcha up to?
Jaime, did you bite the meeting bullet?
Heather, xmas miracle do happen!
Anj--need race update!!
Rhonda, reading about the ww double fudge cake makes me hungry!!

I have not run since Friday because.... well I had my hair done and they told me NO SWEATING-- so, well, couldn't run ;) I did this Brazilian Keratin treatment to help eliminate frizz.

Only word on the job is that my salary for the full time position is more than the department budget has allotted for it. I AM SO RELIEVED. I tried to talk them into letting me work the hours that the budget would pay for-- still significantly more than my current 15 hour/week schedule pays me.
I'll get more follow up this wed or thurs. Watch-- they'll surprise me and go for the full time. :( But I'd have to do it. But I don't think it will happen :)

zinkemomx2 05-18-2009 04:15 PM

Um yeah. Sucky food choices = sucky run.

Mrs Snark 05-19-2009 07:17 AM

Kitty -- I'm keep my fingers crossed that the job works out in a way that best suits you!

Billie -- Sorry about he crappy run, but there is a lifetime of runs in front of you, so don't worry about it and just keep moving forward!

I've been having great days with minimal struggle so I'm thrilled. After vacation it felt like all I did was struggle but now suddenly things are getting easier again without all the internal turmoil. Thank goodness, I needed a mental break!
