Shay - Congrats on completing week 3!! I've got to get away from the computer and get in my run for the day. I'm going to try (keep your fingers crossed) to increase my distance anther .25 to 2.75. My goal is to be able to completely run the next 5K, but it is beginning to look a little bit dim.......but I'm not going to give up!!!

I lazed out on my run today. Once I got on the treadmill I just didn't have the get-up-and-go needed for a run, so I just did a 3.5 mile fast walk. So Tuesday will have to be my next long run.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Monte--You did something that's what counts.

Miriam--I should have freezed my gym membership years ago or at least stopped paying dues. It is totally paid off and I pay monthly dues of about $18/month. It does come in handy when I am on staycation because I prefer going to the gym during the day than the evening.

I am toying again with doing an outdoor bootcamp for 1/wk for $50/month. I've been talking about this for about 1-2 years just like the running club. We shall see. These are definitely ideas for the future because what I'm doing right now is hard enough.

Shay: on week 3 completion! GL with week 4, you can do it!

MC: Don't give up! You can do it!

Miriam: Freezing the membership would probably be a good thing if you haven't been in a while. Rethink it after the weather start getting chilly again.

I hit the gym yesterday for an hour and a half. Got in 10 min bike, 10 min elliptical, 10 min stairstepper, 30 min 3.5 speed walk on random (1.5-7.8) elev. and a 30 min 4.0 jog on no elev.

No gym today, have a LOT of housework to do (DD5 got bits and pieces of playdough all over the house yesterday!) and it is laundry day. But, I am about to break out the callanetics video for a half hour before I get started cleaning.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

Whoa! We almost dropped off the first page. Sunday was my day of rest (and boy was it great!), but today I'll be doing another strength training workout.

H&H~Where are you? I am Missing you!! How are you liking your new treadmill? Please post and let me know how you are. I am starting to get concerned!

I took the week off from exercise. My body was sore from head to toe nail. I had numbness in my hand and fingers. They are much better. The nagging ache in my hip and knee is better. I gained 3 pounds this week. I am back on the exercise trail again. Catch ya all later. Pat

Hate it, but NEED it.
Got over to the gym this am and did some cardio and just a little upper body weight training. This was my first time back to the gym since I got back on plan.

Snapless--Thanks!!! I will do it! I plan to reward myself too. With what I don't know.

Welcome Sea!!!

Everyone--They will shut this thread down at 500 or near it. So whoever is here when it shuts down can start the new thread. We are in the high 300's now so that is why I wanted to mention it. We can keep the same name and just add #2.

Hiya ALL!!

Sorry for not dropping by-thanks Pat for the message I've been doing really great. Nothing got me down or anything, just been busy crocheting some doily sets for christmas gifts.

It will be 1 week tomorrow that I have had my new treadmill and have been a walking maniac ever since! I've actually walked 10 miles today! And burned over 1000 calories! LOVE IT LOVE IT!

As for my weight, it's been going up and down! Got to get a grip on it!

to all the new people! Now-GET MOVING!

Hi all,

One more week until school starts back up for DD5 and I'll be back to hitting the gym every morning.

The gym being a couple of blocks away from her school (and closer than my home) makes it so I don't have to argue with myself about going. Need to get back into that routine again.

Still going on Saturdays during her dance class (her class is next door to the gym lol), but otherwise have been doing toning/shaping exercises at home and not much else. Once a week cardio just isn't cutting it I don't think. Definitely won't make my 500m by Xmas goal that way.

Sarah: Good to hear from you, was wondering where you'd taken yourself off to. I've got family members who think I'm nuts because I start working on Christmas presents around August (but they are always scrambling last minute while I just smile...).

MC: Thanks for saving us!

Shay: Will do!

To everyone else: Hope you are all having a good week!

H&H~Good to hear from you! I am so glad you like your new treadmill. Ten miles!! WOW girl you put me to shame. Maybe I need to ask ex for my treadmill back!!

I did 50 minutes of stepping. I am working my way back slowly. I am going to start exercising on my big ball and use my mini ball pilates dvd. Work that up slowly too. I can't have numbness in my shoulder and fingers. I know I over did it. I am back on the exercise wagon. Catch ya all later. Pat

WTG exercisers! Y'all may be reluctant but you're still doing it!
I'm just keeping at my walking.. Should do some sort of strength training. Does anyone do strength training at home? If so - what type of exercises?

Still reluctant over here.......I'm not sure what the problem is. I've really, really had to push myself to get any exercise done, and I do mean any. I got on the treadmill to do a nice long (for me) run yesterday, but wimped out and just walked for 30 mins. I think that this must have to do with the three day break that I'm on for my diet. I guess my mind says, if you're not going to eat right, why should I bother? I start back full force tomorrow, so maybe that will help. My family is heading to Alabama for a wedding this weekend, so while I'm home by myself (bliss!) I'm going to kick myself into high gear! I'm scheduling myself a 5K for Saturday, and I am going to beat my previous time of 45 mins if it kills me!
