  • May I join? My name is Amy I am a reluctant exercisers as well. Once I do it I feel great and vow to keep it up, but I have such a hard time getting started!
I am thinking about starting up with walk away the pounds again, maybe today will be the day if I have the energy after cleaning the house .
  • Hi Amy! Welcome to the group.

Yesterday I ran a mile and walked 3.25 miles more. I've been sort of stalled for a month or so, so I decided to start running 6 days a week instead of 3. I haven't done my pushups for two weeks now, but I plan on starting back up Saturday (I know I should start today, but it's movie night).
  • Both yesterday and today I ran 1.25 miles and walked another 3. This afternoon I may bike a little, but more for fun than actual exercise.
  • Is everybody okay? It is starting to feel like the twilight zone over here.

Monday I ran 1.5 miles and walked 2.75.
  • well, i'm okay i guess
i finally have something to log in, haha
walked for about half an hour today - ain't easy getting back on track with a combo of stress and mono, so i'm taking it slowly. might register for night swimming twice a week - haven't seen a pool since last summer. i even bought a bathing suit but havne't had the chance to wear it yet
  • Way to go Miriam! Half an hour is fantastic, especially under the circumstances.
  • Tuesday's exercise was the same as Monday's. 1.5 miles ran, 2.75 miles walked.
  • Wednesday was the same as Monday and Tuesday. Today I move up to 1.75 miles ran and 2.5 miles walked.

I hope everyone is doing okay. Remember, you don't have to stay away if you happen to be in a very reluctant phase. We are here to encourage each other through those times.
  • Thursday and Friday I ran 1.75 miles and walked 2.5. I'll be doing the same today as soon as I get off the internet.

Edit: Did my run/walk for Saturday.
  • I went swimming - did more than 20 laps (not a huge pool - don't get too excited, haha)
  • Good job Miriam! I'm glad you're on the Red Team for the Challenge!
  • Yea Monte! Your name was one of the only ones I recognized from my team, LOL

Let's rock! Well - you rock already - you've lost sooo much weight - good for you!!
  • Thanks Miriam. It has been a lot of work!

Monday I ran for 2 miles and walked 2.25. I had forgotten to charge my iPod, so it died right in the middle of my run, so I ended up having to read for the rest of the time (not during the running, of course, but during my walking portion). I guess I now know how long my iPod can go before it will go dead (two weeks, I was impressed).

We had a lot of wind damage on Sunday from Ike. The weather report actually called them squalls. Since when do you have "squalls" in Arkansas???? Trees came down on several of our properties, and several others lost power, so we spent most of Sunday cleaning up limbs and fixing services. I'm sure it helped my weightloss, because if I had been at home I would have been tempted to eat, plus I got the added bonus of dragging huge limbs around for hours. Unfortunately my hands are a little banged up and some of my muscles are rather sore, but it didn't stop me from my running!
  • Wow Monte - soory to hear that Ike was in your backyard...

I'm not doing so great OP - I just consumed a HUGE amount of popcorn - WTH is wrong with me? Bad choices, Miriam, bad choices!!!!

Hoping to get to the pool again on Thursday.
  • Just came back from 20 laps at the pool!!! What a way to start the day
it sucks not having a car - otherwise I would go every day..
