  • Off for my C25K now. Starting week 2 today, and I am surprisingly looking forward to it. I did 4 days of week 1, and on the last one the jogs didn't seem quite long enough. Guess that means I'm ready, huh?

    Back soon!

    Ruth
  • Miriam & Monte--I will do it! I will break this pattern. I will be on the treadmill on Tues, Thurs, and Saturday this week. I would love it if you check in with me to see if I did exercise.
  • Well I just finished my first bit of exercise since Thursday. Our entire family went for a 2 mile walk. I tell you, we really look like gypsies when we all go together. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before but there are 11 people in my family. Dad & Mom, myself, Angela (20, away at college), Amanda (14), Christiana (12), Frank Jr. (9), Joseph (7), Augustus (5), Jessica (3), and John (1). It is quite a production getting us all out the door! Anyway, this was sort of a bonus, as I will still be doing my regularly scheduled strength training after the smaller children are in bed.

Way to go Shay!! I know that you can do it! I'm also scheduled to be treadmilling those days, so we have to help each other stay on track.

Ruth - Great job on the C25K! Doesn't running make you feel like an awesome powerful person who can do anything? It does me, but then I'm a little strange......
  • Hi All~I did my 1 hour of stepping. Everyone keep up the good work> Pat
  • Hello my fellow 3FCers. Looks like you are all keeping with the momentum. I got my exercise ball in the mail yesterday (about time!). Am looking forward to trying it out. I think it will help my posture for things like squats and I know it is awesome for the belly. It came with a handy little DVD showing various exercises too.

I also got my new Callanetics DVD yesterday. That's getting played today also.

Fun! I may actually start enjoying exercise again now that I have some better tools to do them at home in the AC.

Can't wait for summer to be over so the gym will be a cooler place to go to again for my cardios.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!
  • Hi Yall

Shay - did you do treadmill yesterday?

Monte - wow - nice big family. What number are you?

    Pat - WTG

Suzanne - enjoy new videos! Let us know how they go!

I've neen walking all over the place. Still can't get back to the gym...
  • Miriram - I'm the oldest (22), so we are all still living at home. It gets wild at times, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Shay - Did you get in your treadmill exercise yesterday? I've been a little under the weather so I just walked for 4.5 miles, and left off the running all together.

Suzanne - Hurray for new videos!!

Pat - You are being so faithful with stepping! Way to go, girl!!
  • Miriam & Monte--Yes, I did! Thanks for checking in ! It was a good 50 minute walk/run interval workout. I had some good tunes on the ipod and and watched gymnastics and swimming on tv.

I put my scale on vacay on Monday until the next TBL challenge and I have been fighting myself to not dig it out. I actually do better when I weigh less frequently. I think it has to do with me knowing I am doing well with exercise and food and I need further validation. Do I really? No! I can get obsessive about weighing and food so that is why I am doing this. Well I can get obsessive about exercise too but anyways....Okay done...move on now Shay!
  • Well as I posted in the LC forum...that exercise ball is wonderful! The pump is horrible though! My husband and I got a major (arm) workout just from the hour it took us taking turns to pump it up! The pump is so cheesy that it releases almost as much air on the pull as it pumps in on the push.

I watched the ball video and did some exercise with it. It's great! I especially love using it to do squats. No more throwing my back out of whack!

I will try out the callanetics DVD today.

Miriam, walking is great! I've been doing a lot of outdoor walking/jogging lately because I just can't bring myself to go to the no-AC gym. So I'm right there with you. The only bad part about it for me is that up until yesterday I didn't have a pedometer so I haven't been able to update my ticker. Got one now though!

Shay I'm the same way. There are a lot of people who do better to weigh in daily and then there are people like us who obsess over it and it's better (for us) to only weigh in on certain days. to you for your treadmill workout!
  • I was really reluctant to exercise yesterday, so I spent 1.5 hours on my computer making a bunch of graphs and charts to keep track of my progress; weight, BMI, body fat %, measurements, you name it, I've got a graph for it. Unfortunately that doesn't count for exercise, so I eventually did do my strength training. At least I could watch Star Trek while I was doing it!!
  • This is my kinda group. I am definitely reluctant when it comes to exercising! Count me in.
  • Quote: This is my kinda group. I am definitely reluctant when it comes to exercising! Count me in.
    Dillybar!
  • Dillybar
  • Hi Dillybar!

Snapless--The scale thing is an everyday struggle.

Got on the treadmill again last night. Two days down, one to go. Then on to my next challenge...exercising beyond the third week.
  • Third day done. I made it through week 3! On to week 4. The workout today was kicking my behind. I was complaining the whole time !
