Oh boy DH's birthday is next month. He wanted a guitar book but THIS is so much better. Wow. Thing is, how can I measure him without him becoming suspicious? Once you've sacked 'em up, then what do you do with them?

Dang woman, I almost spit my coffee all over my computer screen and keyboard. Will be giggling about this all day long, no doubt at the most inappropriate moments.

And I completely forgot about the possum nipple warmers. I could put those on, stay warm and dust the desk at the same time just by shifting a bit.

Sorry about the computer woes Rennie. Good luck putting humpty dumpty together again.

Nothing new here. Still cold. Had lunch with a friend yesterday. Dinner with another friend last night. Lunch with 2 friends today. I guess I do have some friends here after all

DH bought a steam mop yesterday. Not as good as they advertise. It got the floor clean but left alot of water on the floor and he said it doesn't push out as much steam as it should. The floor almost needs to be mopped after the steam mop to pick up the excess water which takes 3 times as long to dry and leaves streaks all over the floor. He did do the terra cotta tile in the hall and tho you can't "shine up a turd" as they say, the floor does look a bit different.

Alright, guess I am full of silliness this morning which is not necesarily a bad thing tho I does make me feel like I'm leaning to being bi-polar - please tell me no Painterwoman. It's off to giggle in the showers for me.

Have a good one, thanks for the laughs this morning. Sure glad I didn't check out Shad's web link at work

Good morning Mel, she snuck in and out while I was laughing here. She must be in stealth mode. Take an easy day Mel and let others help you for a change. Rest up sis.

Mel - you're welcome to come with us to lunch today. I think we're doing the Chinese buffet tho with taco fixings on the hot table, not sure how they consider that Chinese. I'm going for the beef and peppers myself. And maybe some chicken and mushrooms. The food is not that great so I don't have a problem over eating. One plate with a bit of this and a bit of that on it. Of course these guys will just talk about work so you and I may have to sit at another table.

Morning all, thanks for the concer over my car support... it was about a quarter of a mile away and I brought it home in pieces...oh well....... that is what I get for living ontop of a mountain.
I am off on an adventure today with the gals from work. My co worker is Mormon and there is a new temple in Rexburg we have tickets to tour it.... my boss Nan and I asked her if the walls would collapse if we went in to it....she didn't think so.... so we will go see it and have agreat lunch ..... some shopping and then home...it is 2and half hours each way so it will be a long day....my dogs get to ride along.
Hope all is well with everyone.......
Peace,
Nae

Ummmmm - last time I went to church it rained for (nearly) 40 days and 40 nights and the last time my Dad and I went to church together, there was a earthquake which devasted Kawerau and the Urewera and then it rained for (nearly) 40 days and 40 nights. Not looking to go back anytime soon.

NO Mel - you are not the only person who can gain a kilo a day. I've been doing it for the last week. If I get any bigger I will pop!

Nae - enjoy your tour. Don't know what the Mormon temples are like but I went to a Buddhist temple in Wollongong. The Temple was just lovely and so serene and peaceful (even if it was in the middle of a busy industrial estate) and the food in the cafe was exceptional - vegetarian and very cheap! No tea or coffee, but the fruit juice was great. So sorry to hear about the car and carport. Hope you are insured!!!

Happy - Chinese Taco - is that much different from our Indian pizza? or Thai green curry risotto?? Things people do!!!
Actually the bags are made from the scrotum of old man Kangaroo, and you don't have to measure up the old guy!!!! Do you go round and measure diameter or depth or the length of hang?? They are money pouches more or less and it is interesting to note the variety of sizes and styles of the lil darlings! One wonders whether the human race has such a range of shapes and sizes. Perhaps those with DH or DS or DF could submit pics??
Now I am getting sillier! Put it down to stress!

Okay - it's Friday - time for breakfast and then a course which I wrote, which has not yet been proofed, and I have to do train the trainer on it today. Hope they are not expecting life to be grand. More like interesting. Just as likely the BI Portal will break down in time for the off and I will have to wing the entire performance. Oh such joy.

I'll be back later.

Sorry for being MIA again. No really good excuses, just another fit of procrastination. But as always, I have been here lurking...

Shad, it's good to hear you sounding a little more chipper. If you're off work this weekend and next, am I right that you have only 5 days work left?? Youpi!! Any more news on the work-from-home contract? Fingers crossed all across North America that it works out. Enjoy the next two weeks of dietary misbehaving - we'll be getting out the prod once you're back in Brisbane.

Mel, while I have at times gained 2.5 lbs in a day, it was never after an all-nighter on the porcelain throne! You silly thing - you were supposed to wear the poncho, not eat it!!! Sheesh!

Happy, I loved your expression, can't shine up a turd. Can't wait for the chance to unveil it at some perfect moment.
I must say I admire your ability to attack house reno projects. I seem to have some kind of mental block when it comes to finding contractors and making the decision to go ahead. I try to blame it on being an indecisive Libra, but no one's falling for that any more.

Madcat, somehow I can't seem to get myself into doing weights or stretches. But your example may be the inspiration I need at last. Or not.

This has been my last full week off work for a while. I'm not complaining, but I sure could really get used to this retirement thing. I went to spin class on Monday and Wednesday, actually went for a half-hour of laps at a local pool on Tuesday, and will be spinning again tomorrow night. Today was supposed to be the pool again, but instead I did errands and goofed off.

Had an nsv today: went to a doctor's appointment, and all the results of recent bloodwork were very good, and my BP had gone down again, this time from 124/80 to 104/80! Must be all that spinning...

As for the laptop, it had no sooner come home from hospital than the power cord connection went from dicey to kaput. Enough is enough, and now I'm waiting for Dell to deliver a replacement. Meanwhile, I was able to copy most of the stuff on it onto a flash drive, and the tech will move the rest once the new baby is here. I'm quite excited, and can't wait to be using a normal-sized screen again. (This laptop is only 10", and my fingers are too fat and my eyes too weak to use it all the time.)

Shaker, hello! I wasn't around when you were here before. Shad discovered me on another thread and thought I'd enjoy this bunch of lunatics. She was right.

Annie, I've always admired people who can do dance-based exercise classes. When I tried aerobics I was always the big one at the back looking uncoordinated and sweaty...

Ruth, if you look in, I hope the prep for the big O is progressing smoothly. Since my fingers are already working on Shad's contract, I've called the toes into service to be crossed that there's no postponement.

Ceejay, don't worry too much about one day off-program. It's the weeks and months off project that do the real damage. And enjoy your weekend with no travel!

Rose, that must have been one heck of a wind! At least nobody got hurt - someone in this area was killed last year when a carport collapsed on them from the weight of the snow they were trying to clear.

Well, my eyes are getting rather fed up with me trying to work on this tiny screen. I think new glasses are definitely on the to-do list... Hello to those I've missed: Holly, Painter, Shy, and anyone else out there.

Hello Carla-

Reach out and touch someone - *reach, reach, touch, touch*.

As well as that other saying, I find that I use "oh... you must have forgotten to LISTEN / AND OR /CARE" an awful lot. You will know when it's appropriate to use.

I know what you mean about the tiny laptop monitor. Sometimes I am allowed to work from home but I do admit that it's a pain on the laptop screen. Don't have the driver handy for this funky wide aspect monitor I have.

Now we must both go to bed and dream of sweet retirement when we can spend out days doing what WE want to do.

Gimme 16 tons, whadda get? Another day older and deeper in debt. Oh St. Peter don't you call me cuz I can't goooooo. I owe my soul to the company store... Vintage Tennessee Ernie Ford there. Even before my time I think.

Goodnight ladies.
