Sorry for being MIA again. No really good excuses, just another fit of procrastination. But as always, I have been here lurking...
Shad, it's good to hear you sounding a little more chipper. If you're off work this weekend and next, am I right that you have only 5 days work left?? Youpi!! Any more news on the work-from-home contract? Fingers crossed all across North America that it works out. Enjoy the next two weeks of dietary misbehaving - we'll be getting out the prod once you're back in Brisbane.
Mel, while I have at times gained 2.5 lbs in a day, it was never after an all-nighter on the porcelain throne! You silly thing - you were supposed to
wear the poncho, not eat it!!! Sheesh!
Happy, I loved your expression, can't shine up a turd. Can't wait for the chance to unveil it at some perfect moment.
I must say I admire your ability to attack house reno projects. I seem to have some kind of mental block when it comes to finding contractors and making the decision to go ahead. I try to blame it on being an indecisive Libra, but no one's falling for that any more.
Madcat, somehow I can't seem to get myself into doing weights or stretches. But your example may be the inspiration I need at last. Or not.
This has been my last full week off work for a while. I'm not complaining, but I sure could really get used to this retirement thing. I went to spin class on Monday and Wednesday, actually went for a half-hour of laps at a local pool on Tuesday, and will be spinning again tomorrow night. Today was supposed to be the pool again, but instead I did errands and goofed off.
Had an nsv today: went to a doctor's appointment, and all the results of recent bloodwork were very good, and my BP had gone down again, this time from 124/80 to 104/80!

Must be all that spinning...
As for the laptop, it had no sooner come home from hospital than the power cord connection went from dicey to kaput.

Enough is enough, and now I'm waiting for Dell to deliver a replacement. Meanwhile, I was able to copy most of the stuff on it onto a flash drive, and the tech will move the rest once the new baby is here. I'm quite excited, and can't wait to be using a normal-sized screen again. (This laptop is only 10", and my fingers are too fat and my eyes too weak to use it all the time.)
Shaker, hello! I wasn't around when you were here before. Shad discovered me on another thread and thought I'd enjoy this bunch of lunatics. She was right.
Annie, I've always admired people who can do dance-based exercise classes. When I tried aerobics I was always the big one at the back looking uncoordinated and sweaty...
Ruth, if you look in, I hope the prep for the big O is progressing smoothly. Since my fingers are already working on Shad's contract, I've called the toes into service to be crossed that there's no postponement.
Ceejay, don't worry too much about one day off-program. It's the weeks and months off project that do the real damage. And enjoy your weekend with no travel!
Rose, that must have been one heck of a wind! At least nobody got hurt - someone in this area was killed last year when a carport collapsed on them from the weight of the snow they were trying to clear.
Well, my eyes are getting rather fed up with me trying to work on this tiny screen. I think new glasses are definitely on the to-do list... Hello to those I've missed: Holly, Painter, Shy, and anyone else out there.
