Scotch would kill me lol. Wolf wants to know if he drinks it for me, will that help lol.

Carla
You are not alone in bad eating habits. Drinking tons of pop was a real thing I had to kick. Not eating enough food was another along with eating to much of the wrong things. I looked at getting this weight off the same way I have looked at everything else in my life. If you want to do it, you just do it. It isn't like I am losing fast, 1lb a week sure isn't fast lol. I am always telling my children, excuses get you no where. Well, I tell myself the same thing every time I want to put something in my mouth I shouldn't or not do my exercises. I feel so bad for your cat. I am sure he will be very happy someplace where he can go outside. You are being a good mother not a bad mother. We all want what is best for those we love. Winkie THINKS he wants to go outside. When he gets out he walks around a bit, complains about the grass and then cries to get back into the house lol. You have heard of pavement people, they don't like the country life, they need the bussel and pavement of the city. Winkie is a carpet cat lol. I was reading about spin classes, they sound really fun. Hope you enjoy them.

Melody
You are so right. You will never hear me say. I will never...

Drink mountain dew
Eat sugar cookies
Sit around in sweats all day
Eat green olives
or
Enjoy pizza hut pizza lol
Never going to happen, might as well not say it lol.

My goal is to do 40 min resistance training every other day. Well, Friday I did 20 min, my legs felt like lead balloons. I said forget it. If I can only get my leg 8 inches off the ground because my knees are yelling at me lol it isn't doing me much good ( my leg is suppose to be raised behind me parrell to the floor ). Will rest the poor tired things and try again tomorrow.

What do you think? Wolf says I might be doing to much. 3 miles walking/aerobic videos a day and then 40 min 3 times a week of resistance training might just be to much for my knees. Wonder if I should go and have them looked at. I have a bit of trouble with them from time to time but nothing like I am now. Wonder if it could be the exercising? Must have just been a bug thing I had. Never was really sick just didn't feel good. A nice hot bath, a good book and laying in bed and watching tv for the evening seems to have done the trick. Thank you for asking.

Drat! I am getting a cold and have been pampering myself all day. I still have it despite ginger tea, Vit. C and zinc lozenges.

Today has been very quiet around here. I skipped Church and have been working at my desk most of the day. Early bed tonight.

Crazy weather - we're at 40ºF and the snow is melting. I expect to see my snowdrops in bloom at the edge of the walk later this week. That's why I chose one for my avatar.

Morning all,
Dang colds going on all over North America!!!!

Rose - too funny about the ex and the mother. Wonder what made her slip a cog at that point. Your Mum is pretty much on the ball I thought. Glad to hear that you've had a good holiday and that all is well on the kid front for the time being.

Hiya Mel - How long is it now for me to wait and gasp and hang in there with all the idiocy going on around me? Oh yes, it is 20 days, 16 hours, 40 minutes and 23 seconds until Sunday, 27 January but who's counting.
I brought the parcel in today, now I just have to find the address again.

Rennie - No doubt the poor man needs the scotch from time to time. Just give it to him. Glad to hear that you are feeling better.

Ruth - Snowdrops already? It's only January!!! Hope you feel better soon. Keep smiling. Happy Birthday, etc etc. By the way that is a good picture of you on your profile!

Nothing new hear. Did a bunch of cleaning yesterday to kickstart the end of the lease stuff in my apartment. Starting to pack up the stuff I will not use before the end of Jan as well. Hope I can fit it all in the cases!!

And that's about it from me. Have a good day.

Surprise, y'all.
Glad the gang's all here, even if I missed most of last quarter.
DD and I are back on track weight wise... that is, she's trying to get to goal weight (and be in shape to run 1/2 a marathon) and I'm trying to my 1st 10%.
My friend Tamara took up a lot of my energy for the past 5 months. She was optimistic and a trouper, but she succumbed to all the problems that came with the melanoma on December 15.

I've been more responsive to my meds, and plan to add walking and yoga... but not until February. THIS month, it is "just" a matter of recording all my food. And reminding myself that it's ok to be hungry, ok to have an appetite, and ok to want things. And that there's always a choice about whether and what to eat (or buy)!
Happy New Year, all!!

Geez quiet in here today isn't it??

Hello Painter - Happy New Year to you and yours. Your ticker is moving, thats great. It always helps when you have someone to help you move and groove. Good on the DD. Let us know when she runs the half marathon.

Rennie - Don't care who drinks the scotch - you will have the cold, he will get happy. Who knows what will happen then.

Okay - it's another day and whatever, it's gotta be better than the last one. Although Mel might not think so. She's gone to the dentist. She'll be back with the owies (as Meadow might say) in the mouth later.

I was watching the NBC morning show on TV at 5.00am this morning. One of the male hosts was in Vegas. He was saying that all the celebritiess were there doing things - people like Michael Douglas, Tony Bennett etc. He didn't specifically name Happy2bme but she's there as well. Didn't know she was a celeb did you??? Hope she is having a great time. I don't always watch this show, just so happened I was up and had finished off my exercise video by 5.00am and so sat and watched a bit of it while I cooled off somewhat.

Going out to dinner tonight with a friend from the project. It could be interesting or it could be a disaster. I'll let you know tomorrow. Anyway the meals sound nice. I'd better not eat too much. I'm carrying too much as it is. Glad the doc hasn't put me on the scales lately. I'd better get rid of some of it before he does!!!

So another glorious day here. Apparently we had a thunderstorm overnight, but I never heard a thing. I was tired. It's tiring doing nothing but stirring up recalcitrant people you know.
I'm looking at some work for the future and with this, I may be able to work from home. Depending on the terms and conditions, if the pay works out, then I would love to work from home again. It requires discipline, but you can work the hours you want, you don't have to get dressed up, and if you want time off to watch a program on TV or go shopping, you just go and do it. Fingers crossed that all the boxes get ticked. I'd better get my cv up to date.

And with that I am gone

PAINTER~ I AM SO SORRY FOR THE LOSS OF YOUR FRIEND. SHE REALLY WAS A TROOPER. SENDING GOOD THOUGHTS FOR ALL OF YOU THAT LOVED HER

I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE LOCAL STORE AND FOUND OUT MY DEAR FRIEND AGNES PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING. THERE I WAS...WOMAN IN THE STREET CRYING MY HEART OUT ON SOMEONE'S CAR. POOR WOMAN WHO OWNED IT JUST STOOD THERE. DIDN'T EVEN SEE HER TILL SHE SAID COULD SHE HELP! I MUST HAVE BEEN A SIGHT!! LORD...WHAT IS NEXT??
BUT I AM HAPPY FOR HER AS SHE HAD COLON CANCER. SO IT WAS FAST AND A BLESSING.
THE DENTIST: THEY GAVE ME A MEDICATED FILLING ON TOP OF THE MISSING PART AND SENT ME HOME. BUT NOT BEFORE SETTING ME UP WITH A SPECIAL CASES CLINIC THAT DEALS WITH WHEELCHAIR PEOPLE AND THE FACT THAT IT WAS PAINFUL TO BE UPSIDE DOWN IN THE DENTAL CHAIR!!! MUCH TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON MY NECK AND SHOULDERS!! WOW!! EVEN I WAS SHOCKED. WITHIN 5 MINUTES I COULD FEEL LIKE CRYING THE NECK WAS CAVING IN! BUT I AM HOME SAFE AND SOUND AND WILL HAVE BETTER ATTENTION IN THE NEW CLINIC. I BEGIN ON THURSDAY AND THEY'LL SET UP A SERIES OF APPTS FOR ME. ROOTCANAL AND CROWN ETC. SAVING THE TOOTH
I AM JUST TOO TIRED TO READ RIGHT NOW. JUST HAPPENED TO SEE PAINTER'S POST. WILL CATCH UP TOMORROW AFTER FOOD SHOPPING.
LOVE TO ALL

Hello Ladies,

I've been MIA for the past two weeks... I can't believe how fast the holidays came and went.

Started my living healthy program. It's really hard to get back on track. The exercise is there, just have to get my eating under control.

1day
You will do it. Sometimes we slip a bit but getting back on track is important. Nice that you have kept the exercise up. Just take a deep breath and get it done. Might be a bit hard for the first few days but you will be so proud of yourself, it will be well worth it.

Melody
I am so sorry about the troubles you are having. It is bad enough to have problems with ones teeth but you have even more. Hope they can take care of you and you don't hurt to much.

Cee
Hi. Hope things are going well.

Shad
Hope it works out for you so you can work from home.

Painter
So nice to see you bad. Very sorry about your friend. Sending my best wishes and prayers to everyone that knew and loved her. Please don't be a stranger and let us know how things are going.

Oh Mel ~ I’m sorry about your friend and so sad to have it sprung on you all at once. Good news at least that the dentist types will try to make your life a bit easier. Hang in there.

Painter~ Great to see you again. I’m so, so sorry about your friend. She fought a brave fight and it is sad. This month is a good rev up time. Be kind to yourself and stick around if you can.

Shad~ I’ve got my fingers crossed for you for your future job possibility. I think you deserve some time in your own house surrounded by all your stuff and fussing over Sunday. Enjoy your dinner. Hopefully it will be a success not a scary disaster. Hey, if nothing else enjoy the food.

Ruth~ Have some more ginger tea and stay warm.

Ceejay~ Weekends never seem long enough, do they?

Rennie~ I have crappy knees too and I find it’s important to give them time to heal sometimes. If you are going to do weights be really careful of any lower body movements that put strain on your joints. If it hurts, don’t do it.

Hi Nae~ Good to hear that things are going so well for your family. All we can hope is that any of us can learn from our mistakes.

Carla~ I’m sorry about the kitty but it would be better for him to be in place where he can go out and cause mayhem in the great outdoors. You are being a good catmom by putting his desires above you own.

Hi 1day! Amazing how those holidays can winq by so soon. Welcome back.

I’ve been trying to get back on pace. I even worse my pedometer today and - well, it didn’t work. I can’t get the thing to count properly and it cut out at it was at about 3419 steps before I left work, and then I walked home the 5 k and it reads 3500 steps. WTF??? Stupid thing. My plan is to continue to go to the gym, adding in some more weights, and walk home when the weather allows. I’m also going to track what I eat – though I haven’t decided if It’s go with Fitday or stick to WW. I’m leaning towards Fitday and I may do it for the next two weeks and then make the call at that point. Eating better and moving appropriately is what I have in mind for now. Now if I could just get my water consumption back up

Mad
I am only doing 1 1/2, 2lb and 3lb weights depending on what exercise I am doing. Use them for upper body toning and firming. I do use the stretchy cords with and without handles to do the lower body. They are much easier on the joints. Knee lifts seem to be the hardest for me. Things like that and squats and lunges. I have to so them slowly and many small sets instead of a lot at one time and I can't do them everyday except in the walking/aerobic videos.

You all do such an amazing job of individualizing the messages. Is there a trick to doing it FAST? (I'm over my New Year's computer-hours-per-day allotment!!

Mel: Glad you found a kind lady's car to cry over... so sorry about the unexpected/shocking news regarding your friend. Hope the medicated dental filling "works" and that you are all of a piece.

I am up to question 31 on a 202 question year end review and new year planning work book. Maybe I'll get the questions answered before 2009!
So far the best motivator has been:
What would most make your life easier in 2008?
Getting to goal weight. D'oh.

Let me know if you want the link.
Glad to see you all!

Good morning chicks,

I am back safe and sound and much poorer. Well let's say I used up my budget. When they renovated the casinos they tightened up the machines. The table limits were so high that DH only played his favorite game - craps - for about an hour the entire trip. They are squeezing out the little guy. Highlight of the trip was seeing the Circque de Soleil performance of Love - set to the music of the Beatles. It was FABULOUS!!!!! And no Shad, I neither saw nor hob nobbed with any celebrities - perhaps they were hanging out at the newer casinos or were at the huge Consumer Electronics Show Convention that tore into town just as we were leaving.

I'm a bit out of sorts. Too much change in the last 3 weeks I think and my body is rebelling. Tryiing quickly to catch up with y'all and I don't have much time to comment this morning as it's right back to work.

Mel and Painter - so sorry to hear of the loss of your friends

Mel - didn't realize till you mentioned it that sitting in the dentist chair will not be good on the poor body. Hope they can accomodate you!

Did I understand correctly - HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUTH!!!!!!

Shad - hope the work from home deal works out well for you - sounds like you could use a change of pace - even if just for a bit.

Carla - don't fret over the cat - you are a loving owner to give up a friend to a better environment for him

Got to hurry along right now. Will come back tonight. to the rest of the chicks - sorry I couldn't comment to all at the moment.

RENNIE~ I BELIEVE WHEN THE BODY SPEAKS WE SHOULD BE LISTENING. GET A DR'S OPINION IS A GOOD THING AND START SLOWER AND RAISE THEN RAISE THE TIMES. A GOOD ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MIGHT BE IN ORDER JUST TO EASE THE KNEES TILL THEY GET LOOKED AT.

SHAD~ I CAN HARDLY WAIT TO BE OPENING IT!! TOLD JEN I AM MEANT TO BE WEARING A PARCEL SOON! IT'S NOW ONLY
19 days
457 hours
27463 minutes
1647827 seconds
SEE HOW THOSE DAYS ARE SHIZZING BY US!!!
I WOLL SAY I HOPE THAT IN MY NEXT LIFE I AM LIVING A LOT CLOSER TO YOU! NOT NECESSARILY WITH THE FLAMING GECKOS AND ALL THE GRUBS AND BUGS BUT NEARBY!! I AM THINKING THAT HAPPY MIGHT HAVE PAID THE ANNOUNCER NOT TO MENTION HER NAME....SHE'S PROBABLY out there DOING SOME VERY
UN-CHICK-LIKE ACTIVITY OR SOMETHING WHILE OUR FROM UNDER OUR SCRUTINOUS EYEBALLS!!!!

RUTH LOVE, FEEL BETTER SOON

CEEJAY~ I WAS THINKING THE SAME...SEEMED THE WEEKEND FLEW BY US!! NEXT WEEKEND I WILL MAKE THE BEST OF IT

PATTY~ GOOD LUCK WITH THE HEALTHY LIVING!! WE'RE KICKING BUTT IN JANUARY!! JOIN US!

MADCAT~ VERY MOTIVATING POST! GOOD FOR YOU! WTF IS RIGHT!!! WHAT KIND OF PEDOMETER READING IS THAT? NEXT THING YOU KNOW IT WILL BE GOING BACKWARDS!!

PAINTER....GO AHEAD AND POST THE LINK. WE LOVE LINKS HERE GIVES US ALL SOMETHING TO DO BESIDES EATING AND HOUSEWORK IN OUR "SPARE" TIME HOPE YOU GET THE ANSWERS RIGHT!!! LOL

FOR A MINUTE THERE THIS MORNING I DIDN'T WANT TO GET OUT OF BED. SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE THERE IS AN OUTSIDE FORCE THAT KEEPS ADDING CRAP ON TOP OF ME TRYING TO BREAK ME. BUT I CANNOT AFFORD MYSELF THE LUXURY OF DWELLING ON THAT AND FEELING SORRY FOR MYSELF. SO I THREW OFF THE BLANKETS AND GOT DRESSED! I NEED TO SNAP OUT OF THIS FUNK THAT'S HANGING OVER MY HEAD LIKE A THUNDER CLOUD
I AM GOING OUT FOR A RIDE WITH A FRIEND. SHE WANTS TO GET IN AN EARLY WALK WHEN SHE GETS HERE. ALSO, JEN AND RICHIE ARE GOING FOOD SHOPPING SO I GAVE THEM A VERY SMALL LIST. DON'T WANT TO BUY TOO MUCH OF ANYTHING RIGHT NOW. JEN IS RIGHT...I MIGHT BE ON SOFT FOODS FOR AWHILE SO NO USE BUYING THE WRONG STUFF AND THEN HAVING TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN. I WILL KNOW MORE AFTER THURSDAY'S APPT. IF YESTERDAY IS ANY INDICATION IT WILL BE SOFT FOODS. WOW I AM SOOOO OUT OF SHAPE FOR THIS KIND OF STUFF. JAW, NECK AND SHOULDERS! OUCH!! WISH THERE WERE EXERCISES FOR THIS!! :
