GOOD EARLY MORNING EVERY BUDDY!!!

YOU UP MONET??????

I went to bed, slept for about 4hrs and then the eyes popped open and here I am. I've made my coffee and I'm watching the movie....BOYS DON'T CRY with HILLARY SWANK.

The weekend hasn't been very entertaining yet...only ONE SEC FOOTBALL GAME....BUT THEY WON!!! MISSISSIPPI STATE BULL DOGS!!!

TODAY...is JACKIE'S GAME!!! MUSIC CITY BOWL....KENTUCKY WILDCATS!!

Then....for lack of anything better, BAMA comes on after that!

BUT TOMORROW....11 a.m.!!!! THE OUTBACK BOWL
TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS!!

I boought 16lbs of chicken breats Saturday for the freezer. I grilled a load of them Sunday night, fixed some
fresh collard greens and baked tators.

I've got more greens to cook for Tuesday, blackeyed peas, and a pan of cornbread. Sure don't need any bad luck for the new year!

I'll be back a little later

BOB

Morning! Tom left early for his last day of work. I hope he finds something fairly soon, but I think it will be good for him to have a week or two off too.

I need to run to the post office, and the grocery store, but I am waiting until Kaeleb wakes up. They brought him home yesterday while I was gone, and he was asleep when I got in, so I have not seen him since Friday!

BOB: No, I was not awake at 5. I was at 3, and 2 though!

Ladyfirefighter - The book is Choice Menus by Marjorie Hollands & Margaret Howard. It's published by a Canadian company. I haven't checked but it might be available through Amazon or one of those online book sites. I bought it at Chapters - but I don't think that's a US store.

I weighed in today - no weight lost - might have something to do with finishing off some Christmas chocolate.

Used the above book to make up a week-long menu yesterday. My poor hubby is sick and has only felt like chicken soup for the past couple days, so the menu may last for a couple weeks!

Have a great New Year everybody. I've been enjoying my time off this past couple weeks, but I'm looking forward to getting back to work (accounting & income tax) and especially to wrapping up my hubby's business books now that he has retired from his appliance repair business. I am soooo looking forward to never having to fill out another warranty form - ever!

Hey all! I am at work for awhile - did not want to waste a day of vacation and if I was at home I would be thinking of food so I am better off here anyway!
Aldis has a mini trampoline this week for $39. I had some Christmas present money so I went this morning and got one. I used to have one and I really enjoyed it. I have been reading lately how good one is for non-impact exercise and also serves as a good lymphatic cleanser. Several sites say how beneficial it is for diabetics so that clinched it for me! Anyone else here use one?
Making a pork loin roast, sour kraut, blackeyed peas and maybe some stone ground cornbread tomorrow for New Years. I am looking forward to the new year and hoping it is better than '07 was!

JAKEBABE: I was thinking of getting a mini trampoline, and the point about it being good for the lymphatic system clinches it for me. I am planning on getting a big exercise ball too. I had one and my son and his friends were playing with it (he is 29!) and they busted it. I told him they have to buy me a new one, but it has been months and they haven't. Grrr.

Evening everyone. Been trying to get over all day. But theres been people in and out of the house all day. Even our contractor came over and did some work. We didn't eat all day till dinner and of course we overdid on pork steaks baked in the oven. I also finally made some cornbread.

Monet- the mini trampoline sounds so good. I can't wait till you get one and tell us how it is. Hope you got all your things done.

Hi all - Happy New Year!!!

Monet, thanks for all of the advice. We are going to work on the sourdough and see what we can do. I may also try to pull out the old bread machine and just make some whole wheat in there until I have time to try to perfect the sourdough. If and when I get it perfected, I'll be happy to share the recipe.

Yep, Bobby Hebert played for the Saints. He is back now with a pre and post game talk show. Same old guy - lots of hot air, but all in all he is really a nice guy.

As much as I LOVE football, I am just about footballed out already. It seems like football has been on nonstop for d-a-y-s now! Mississippi State won their bowl game, the Saints lost, so my one BIG hope now is for LSU on the 8th. Of course, MY alma mater is so pitiful this year (Ole Miss) that they didn't stand a chance for a bowl game - guess there's always hope for next year. Have to believe that my husband is secretly grinning since his alma mater is the University of Southern Mississippi and they did go a bowl game.

Ya'll take care and again - - -

Just saw the posts about the trampoline. Mini advice - try one first! I bought one a couple of years ago. Now - you have to close your eyes and try to picture this. short, fat, large breasted lady attempting to bounce on that thing. I got to bouncing so hard that my boobs bopped up and about knocked me out! After only about 4 or 5 bounces, I was trying to hold onto to boobs and the balance bar at the same time when I fell off and sprained an ankle and a knee! I packed it up and gave it to my granddaughters who love it! I understand that some have these things and really like them, but they weren't for me!

Happy New Year, everyone (a few hours early).

I feel like someone filled me with air with a tire pump, I feel so bloated. Bleh. I'm going to try and talk Derek into taking the clothes off the bike and the stepper and set them up in the basement so we can use them down there. We already have a TV set up and then find a time when I can do it regularly.

Okay...off to play Rockband with Shelley and Derek...Im the singer. It's pretty funny. I sang Nirvana yesterday. As if!!

Talk to you later!!

Somebody get a hammer and some nails! Lets nail Tech's shoes to the floor in here....

The kids have a bunch of friends over. It is loud and messy downstairs. There are bowls of chips, cheese dip, and all kinds of crap all over the place. I spent two hours in the garagio throwing bowls. I may go back there and work some more, but it is cold and I am tired.

I got a new exercise ball today. James and his friends some how managed to get a hole in my old one. I love bouncing on it, and just like jumping on a trampoline, it helps stimulate the lymphatic system, as well as strengthen the core muscles. I have other exercises I can do with it too. I need to do something until my ankle is no longer hurting so I can walk.

SNAPS: Bobby Hebert went to church with us here in Atlanta. His son was in the program I was the director of. GREAT family. His wife is a lovely woman, very warm and caring. One of the boys in the program was SO impressed with who Bobby's son was, and was telling his mother that Bobby Hebert's son was in his group. Bobby's wife overheard the conversation, tapped her on the shoulder, introduced herself and invited the little boy over to play! It just MADE that kids year! haha! I can't wait to hear how the sourdough does!
