thanks frouf for getting on the ball and starting this new thread!

just home from a hockey game (not my son's team) so i missed the chat tonight. will try next night......in fact will log on whenever and see what it is all about and learn how to use it

weigh in tomorrow night and was hoping to reach my mini goal but not sure i will. i have not stepped on the scale since sunday so i don't have a clue what it will read. i do know that tom is around the corner....ugh....will choke extra water tomorrow till i leave at 630....have a last trip to the bathroom when i get there at 715 and see what happens

going through a re-org at work and it is becoming depressing. no one will be downgraded or deemed surplus which is a good thing....the bad thing is we are learning what all the other jobs are but no one can tell us what we are doing.......grrrr......makes for an unhappy, unsettled attitude So far so good with regards to the 'stress eating'

although, ds turned 19 today.....so i did have an itsy bitsy piece of cake. but i walked to the hockey game.........hope it does not show too bad tomorrow....it always takes 2 full days to show up right?!?!

i better get to bed or it is going to be a short night and a very long day tomorrow

cheers

Hi everyone! I had my weigh-in last night. I was down another 2.6. (Of course, you remember that I only weigh every other week.) But still, yay!

And tonight is the big night where I surprise dh. I think here's how it's going to go down. I will take the bus to his work so that I can be there by quitting time, but not interfere with baby's nap and older dd's kindergarten pick-up time. Grandma can only be so many places! Then I'll walk in with a blindfold , put it on him, and hijack him. I will have placed our stuff in his car already. Hee hee. I don't think I'll leave him blindfolded the entire drive, but he'll think it's funny to show off for his coworkers. I've got some cute underthings to go under my regular clothes that he won't expect, and I'm bringing rose petals to spread around. Should be romantic enough even for him.

I've got a ton to do today to get ready, but I'm excited , can you tell?

Later!
Angela

Angela, I'm excited for you too. I know you and DH are going to have such a wonderful time! And way to go on the 2.6 pounds gone forever!

Froufie, good for you on barely sampling the movie popcorn ... I love that stuff and could easily demolish the big tub! It also sounds as though things are going well with you and DH ... exercising together in your jammies and a mid-week movie! I hope that makes you feel good that he is wanting to spend lots of quality time with you. Maybe his therapist is making some progress.

Frannie and Vickie, hope your WI's show good losses too! You both deserve them.

I'll be out of pocket for a couple of days. My uncle passed away of a heart attack so we are traveling to Alabama to be with my family. I've got good intentions in the eating department but it's always an iffy thing when you don't know what the day holds from one minute to the next. I'll be away tomorrow for my WI, which is probably a good thing considering all the non-Core foods I've shoveled into this big hole of a mouth most of the week! Not much chance to exercise either, I'm afraid. Oh well! Back on track upon our return this weekend.

I'm sorry I missed the chat last night. I'm sure y'all had a great time talking "real" time. I hope to be able to join you for the next one!

You go, ya romantic thing!! That sounds like an incredible time -- and he will be SO surprised! Congrats on the weigh-in too!

Deborah, I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle. Take care and don't worry too much about the eating and lack of exercise. Some things are just beyond our control, and fortunately you know how to recover from a setback (if there is to be one).

Frannie, we missed you last night but understand. Hang in there at work ... I hope things improve rapidly. I know how unsettling those up-in-the-air issues are.

Everybody have a good day!

Frannie, also wanted to extend a hug to you for the work troubles. That's good that no one will lose their job but I can well imagine how stressful the reorganization must be for all of you. Good for you in not succumbing to the temptation to eat your way through the stress. I'm going to make you my role model!

Spring, congratulations on your fabulous loss! You make me laugh because you sound just like me. I want to be happy about my loses but I'm always suspicious of the scales and wondering if it will be taken away from me next week. Celebrate girlfriend. You worked hard and it payed off!

The chat was fun! Of course, my fingers were working faster than my brain. At least here you can correct your typos! I would definitely do it again. I wish we could have voice ones!

Frouf, it shounds like you exercised self-control AND portion control. Two huge lessons for us to learn. Sounds also like your body is back to normal.

Frannie, sounds a bit stressful but hang in there. Reorganizations are always disconcerting and depressing. With luck they will make decisions quickly, AND communicate them. A little bit of cake won't hurt you. I hope you make your mini goal. Seems like forevers since I changed my chick! I don't think it will be this week either.

Angela, who wouldn't be excited?! When will you be back. I wouldn't blindfold him on the car ride. What if he gets carsick! All this and a 2.6 pound loss. You are one amazing girl. That's a terrific 1.3 average. I'd be happy with that for sure!

Deborah, I'm very sorry to hear about your Uncle. This will be very difficult time for you and extremely stressful from a program point of view. You won't be able to control your eating at every meal, so just do the best you can and start fresh when you get home. Have a safe trip.

We'll probably be back by Friday afternoon. Can't stay away from my kiddos too long.

Deborah, do your best, and don't stress the eating while you're gone. You can always start fresh when you get back, like Vickie says.

Frannie, I know it must be tough dealing with all the work issues. I know I was a wreck during the post 9/11 layoff craziness (I used to work for an avionics engineering company). Way to go on staying away from that emotional eating!!

I agree, the chat was a lot of fun. We missed those of you who couldn't make it though. Hopefully we'll have even more people next week.

Off to shave my legs now!!

I am 1 lb away from my goal of 50 lbs. I hope I get there soon, but I am very happy with my weight loss so far. My body feels very different and I actually have angles. Yay.

HI everyone,

Just a couple of minutes to check in before an ALL AFTERNOON STAFF MEETING - ugh! (and I know there's cake afterwards which I will NOT EAT!).

Deborah - so sorry to hear about your uncle - my condolences. Be strong and do what you have to do - it will be stressful so you just take care of yourself!

Angela - way to go on the weight loss! Well done - now you and dh can go out and celebrate!!! yippee! Have a great time!

Frannie - working in the government I can relate to how stressful reorgs are - and morale does tend to "dip" a bit - hang in there! Keeping fingers crossed for you that you get what you hope for!

Kally - 50 LBS!!! is amazing - hope you have planned a supreme treat for yourself!!!!

I just gulped down my lunch (it seems puny to me)...no time to eat today hardly (ate my oatmeal at around 10 am??)....might have an apple before the meeting and finish my water? Will buy a coffee or tea there (mtg in another building).

Later ladies!

Check out the Lunch Ideas thread on our recipes board. It has some good ideas that are pretty portable. I know a lot of the ladies here have soup. I eat leftovers, some of which would transport well.

Good luck with the new job!

Kally, 50 pounds is SO impressive! Keep up the incredible work.

Frouf, take a breath! I hated days like yours when I was working. There was never any time to REALLY focus on myself. That's why I decided to focus on myself when this early retirement was forced on me.

Kierie, good thing you didn't try to chat. You might have had the vacuum up your nose!

Lisa, I'd be suspicious too! When I didn't want to go to school, I would put my face by the heat register for a couple of minutes and then I'd go tell my Mom I thought I had a fever. She'd feel my face and take my temperature and for a little while I WOULD register (no pun intended!) a fever. I'd get to stay home. We laughed for hours when I told her what I'd done once I became and adult. She had no idea. Hope things straighten out for your daughter soon. Man, I wouldn't go back there for anything!
