I am trying hard not to get discouraged. This plan feels right - no cravings, lots of energy - but no loss yet. It is day 5 so phase 1 is not over. Yesterday and today I am tracking thru fitday.
I am going to up the exercise a bit, drink more water and check the sodium levels. Any other ideas? I believe - now I need to achieve.

WillSmashFat, don't be discouraged. This diet is awesome.

Up the exercise a little, but only do cardio if you are in Phase I. I need to up my water intake also. How do you check your sodium levels?

The only suggestion that I have is that you make a food journal if you haven't already. I go by a weekly meal plan that I construct each Sunday in Microsoft Word.

JellyBelly - Thanks for the support. It is the belief in this plan that is keeping me with it.
By "checking sodium levels" I mean recording the amounts of sodium in the foods I am eating.
I am recording my food in fitday to help keep track and to refer to again as a meal plan.
I have cut back a bit on my brown rice and oats today and am choosing fruits with lower glycemic index.
Keep at it!

Hello everyone! Its a couple of weeks since I last posted. I hope everyone is doing well. I fell off for a minute however, I will be back on track once I get past this holiday. I have still continued to work-out at least 5 days a week. I have not gained any weight. I can tell that my body is really transforming now. I must say that its quite nice...lol.... Anyways I still have a ways to go and doing this diet has really inspired me. I am going full speed ahead Tueday, starting back at phase 1. Stay tuned!

Hi, Miss Vee! It is difficult to avoid the goodies during the holidays. I have a dinner party on Thursday that I have to go to so I'm going to do Phase I for breakfast, snack, lunch, and 2nd snack that day even though I'm currently in Phase II. It balances out.

I see we're from the same area!!! What's your exercise regimen?

Good luck!

Hi Jellybelly1908! My exercise is pretty simple, I'm in the gym every morning at 5:00 am. I do 30 minutes on the elliptical, Mon-Fri while alternating upper body workouts every other day, Abs everyday, and Aerobics Mon,Wed, & Fri. I usally spend anywhere from an 1hr to an 1hr 1/2 in the gym. I can tell that I'm really toning now, losing inches like crazy(it feels good) ....lol.... I said that by the end of the year, I should be at my goal weight. I just alternate the different exercises throughout the week. At first it was really hard but now I feel gulity if I miss a workout. I can honestly say that I have learned how to be very discipline now when it comes to food (portion control)!

Hello again,

I am glad you all have such a positive attitude. Even when we have tough times it is good to be able to still feel successful. Tomorrow I will be starting week 2 of Phase 3. I had a tough week. I ate many things I shouldn't have and too much of things as well. When that happened I felt really icky and the next day I ate right on-plan and drank lots of water. But overall the week was an eating roller coaster. Also I have not been exercising at all. I will be starting my morning walking routine on Tuesday though. I've committed to that. I'll see what the scale says tomorrow but I expect a gain. We'll see. Have a happy Labor Day everyone!

Happy Face - Just wanted to support you on your plan to walk on Tuesday morning. I biked for 1 hour today. I will do a 1 hour walk tomorrow. My walk on Tuesday will be after work and before dinner. Keep it up - you are almost out of the 200's!!

Willsmash, thank you so much! I agree with the suggestions you had for yourself as far as seeing the Phase 1 loss you are hoping for. More water would have been my first suggestion and also making sure you are eating every 3 hours or so.

Last year when I 'smashed,' I followed the program to the letter, exercise and all. I started with the 30 minutes of cardio in Phase 1, and worked up to the hour in Phase 4, which is where I sort of fell apart. But this year I didn't do it. So I am starting tomorrow with the 30 minutes and then work up from there. I think it is a main reason why my Phase 2 and 3 losses haven't been as high. I find it is best for me to walk before work. Good for you doing an hour!!

My official Phase 3, week 1 results are a maintain. I'll take it! I'm getting off lucky with that! (oh, and last year I got to 197, but just for a very short time before things went the other way. I can't wait to get back to the 1's for good.)

Thanks again for the support! Good luck with your walk!

Talking Labor Day

I am in day 5 of Phase One and managed to side step a scone ladden tea party yesterday, however I am going to have a planned cheat today and have a couple of no-no foods for the holiday. I am going to stay on the detox phase longer to make up for it. I thought about starting after the holiday, but I did not want any more reasons to postpone getting on track.

Other than a headache the first day and a half and some nausea on day 3 I have been fine. Already being a big water drinker and not being a big coffee or soda person helped I thin. I am having around 1200 calories a day on average which is a HUGE daily drop for me. I think I am still taking in to much salt though as my fingers are swollen every morning when I get up. I started breaking into my dusty Tae Bo collection and now I remember why it worked so well before - I am sore all over!

I refuse to weigh myself until detox is over so I have no idea how I am doing, but I know for know I feel better, and that's the important thing.

Hello everyone!

I am on day 4 of Phase 1. I feel like I have gained a lot of water weight, since I have been drinking a lot more H20 than usual. The diet overall is pretty easy for me, I have been a vegetarian for 14 years, so I have a okay relationship with fruits and veggies...

I have also been doing DDR for the excercise portion (the crazy playstation game which requires constant dancing) and hopefully it will all pay off when I weigh in on Saturday!

Good luck everyone!

Hi, NikkSekstali! I LOVE Dance Dance Revolution. It's a great workout.

@Jaxsprat, keep up the good work! I stuck to the plan today and did not have any BBQ b/c I have a dinner party on Thursday. I'm going to reward myself with a small brownie then.

Hi All,
I'm glad everyone is still writing and supporting each other. I had a fall off the wagon this weekend. It was my anniversary and we went out for dinner. I ate way too much. I am going to go back to phase 1 for a few days. I also found that my 1st week of phase 3 was a no loss/no gain. Week 2 was 2 lbs and I finally have a weight with a 1 in front of it! First time in 8 years!
So keep up the good work all and have a great week!

Hi smashers,

I would love to join this great group. I've tried this plan months ago and lost weight on the phase1, then never made it to phase 2. So this time I'm going all the way!!!! But it sure helps when you have the support like this group. I will try to post daily to be more accountable, and up the water and... do my 30min cardio, which I need to get off my bum and do it now. See ya later
