Morning everyone. Day one here (again) Doing good so far today, did 30 minutes of Tae Bo but damn it makes my thigh muscles huge and hard to get my pants on! LOL Hopefully I won't be as sore as the last time I attemped it. Got to work tonight, so 4 hours of walking around folding cloths.

Had 2 4oz Light & Fit yogurts for breakfast and am now in search of a snack to fill me until lunch time. I really need to find filling snacks that are low in cal and good for me. I love fruit but it really doesn't hold me over for long. Soup for lunch today and a quicky micro meal for dinner since I don't have time to cook on work nights. I don't have much calorie wise for food today so I need to go searching for at least 500 calories for the rest of the day so I can at least get in 1200 today. Maybe I will add a sandwich in with the soup. Also think I am going to add some broccoli into my micro meal. Its only got like 210 cals in it (WW meal). May have to add something else to keep me going at work tonight too otherwise I will be usless LOL

Ok gotta go do some reading

Crud! I just lost my post. Well, I am off to a slow, but good start. I remembered to take my meds and I exercised!! I did one Firm tape (about an hour) and I am feeling pretty good. I love how I feel after I exercise, but it can be so difficult fitting it into my schedule. But we keep trying and one day it will just be habit!

I had an allergy test done while I was at work on Sat, and we found that I have sensitivities to all the different kinds of sugar, and dairy. I am going to try to keep the things that I have problems with out of my diet. It is going to be hard because there is some form of sugar in just about everything. I am going to try to be dilligent about this, and see if it makes a difference.

Well, DD keeps telling me that I need a shower, so Off I go!

G'morning everyone. I've been away for a few days.... whewww busy week. I've been fitting in some exercise at night with my kids. We have been doing Tae Bo and I just bought this dancing workout video....which is hilarious (hehehe)... Think we have to just watch that one a few times before we can get those moves down, lol. Hoping this week will slow down and I can prepare for my meals a little better instead of looking for these fast quick low cal meals..... Makes being on a diet more tougher ya know. Well ya'll have a great day!

Good evening everyone!

I ordered 2 exercise/dance tapes - I know what you mean when you say it is hilarious. My son was rolling in the floor laughing at me when I was trying to keep up with the dance steps. My stomach was doing more dancing than the rest of me. :

Did good today. Worked full-time today since kids are out of school. Usually I work 8:45-2:30 or 3:00 every day. I'm glad I don't have to do that every single day anymore! But I really like working too though!

I haven't updated my sig yet - but I got on the scales at work and I'm down 2 more lbs. That's 5 in all so far. I was really surprised too because TOM came yesterday (1 1/2 weeks early - Menopause are you calling my name?????).

Well, I've got to round up something to eat for dinner tonight. Have a feeling I'm going out because it's already 6:46 PM here and I just got home about 15 minutes ago.

Hope you all have had a GREAT day and have a GREAT evening!

Tammy

**Cool - It updated my sig. automatically** YEAH!!!

Default Mon night

Hello to all and especially the newbies,
I'm having a tough time getting back op. I'll not give excuses, although you know it has been cold here in CT. 6 degrees this am, and my main exercise is walking.
Lucille thanks for the reminder about biggest loser. I also enjoy the specials they've been doing.
Sienna , love your attitude about veggies. I can't eat too many lately, they go right through. I've been told to eat some brown rice with them.
Brook & Tammy & UPSwifie ~ hope to hear more from you

Better to be here and honest, than drift on my own.

Hey Lisi!

It's hard when its' cold outside for me too. Not that I've been doing too much in the way of walking but the cold and rain makes me want to hibernate inside. Unfortunately that's where the fridge and pantry are too!

Your'e doing great. I'm looking at your sigs.. You only have 8 more lbs. to go until your 1/31 goal. You can do it.

How are you doing on getting to bed by 11:00 PM? That's one of my big problems too. I stay up too late most nights. I have, for so long, taken a nap whenever I've gotten off work. Since I've started watching what I'm eating and been on blood pressure medicine I'm not napping as often. I'm still not getting more than 5 1/2 - 6 hrs. of sleep a night. It catches up with me by the weekend too.

Hang in there!

Brrrrr at 6 degrees! It's been cold one day and warm the next here. It's got everybody sick and keeping them sick! The 4 year old is the victim today. Bless her heart - she's got a raspy cough and sniffles So, I get to stay home today and nurse her back to health

I know what you mean about the weather keeping you inactive though. I also ordered a bellydance workout from amazon. It's for beginners and not instructional BUT I watched a trailer on it and it looks like it won't kill me, ya know? I have asthma so cardio is particularly difficult. I need something that will challenge a beginner but not challenge the intermediate. I'm bored with the eliptical so I can't wait until the video gets here.

Hi ladies,

I need every ones opinion. I know being 2 1/2 years on my weightless road that these final lbs are the hardest to loose. Well for over a month I have been working out 5 times a week doing weight training one day and cardio the next. I have also been doing great with my eating. A bit of a treat here and there but mostly small portions of fresh healthy foods. No bad stuff. Well I have been stuck at 154 since July. Now since my new routine and cleaning up my eating I seem to bounce up to like 155.8 and even 156 then I will be right back down a day or two later to 154.0??? I am using 5lb and 8lb dumbbells for my weight training and am doing a full body with arms, back , chest, squats and crunches. Is this water and or new muscle weight? I am getting worried to see the few lb gain and it never ever drops below 154! I am really truly working out and eating well and it has been for about 4-5 weeks straight and I just want to see at least 1 lb drop and stop seeing this 2-3 lb yoyo......?? It is frustrating but I am seeing some good toning in my arms and legs and a tiny bit of change in my upper back. People say it is only muscle weight but why the sudden 2 lb gain in a day and then the next it is gone and this is every week?? My monthly is 2 1/2 weeks away so it can not be that? Has anyone seen this kind of thing when starting a weight training program and will I level out then see a loss soon? I am trying to drop a few lbs before my surgery and build up some muscle tone then I will be out of commission for 3 weeks and no real work outs/ abs stuff for 3 months!

Thanks and hope you are all doing well and staying OP.

Miss hearing from you Amy and Holly...... wear are you guys?

amoses: I have definitely come across this in my own experiences with lifting weights. This was about ten years ago. I hadn't been weighing myself, but I was going to the gym on a set schedule. I dropped about four clothing sizes and finally decided to weigh myself. I had lost six pounds. WHAT?!! I had probably lost twenty pounds (or more) of fat, but had gained just about that much in muscle. One pound of muscle takes up less space than one pound of fat. In your case, does the weight gain seem to be a day after lifting weights?? It could be that in the normal process of building muscle, your muscles are retaining water due to the "damage" that is being done to them. Not a bad damage, just the process of how building muscles work. Have you had a body fat analysis done lately? Maybe your body is where it should be at as far as fat goes.

I have found that doing weight training, I did not lose much, but In my measurements I did. I reccommend that you measure yourself. you will be surprised at the difference.

Thanks so much for the info. It sure sounds like it is the weights. I am measuring but since I am short I hold my fat all in the tummy. I am seeing some results like I said in my upper arms and legs but the gut is measuring about the same? I am hoping it will soon drop off. I think my body fat is just right in the legs, butt and arms but I have a lot of fat in my tummy and hips. It is the hardest to loose! This makes me feel better and I am going to keep with this new program and see if I do see some inches come off over the next month or so. I may need to boost up my cardio a tiny bit to, for the tummy fat? I tend to get lazy with the speed of my walk or elliptical. I guess we do get too caught up in the number on the scale. I am still in a size 10 paints though and feel at 5'-3" I should weigh less than 154.... I do have hips and a DD chest LOL, That has to weigh a good bit!

Tummy fat is hard to get rid of. Let me know if you find anything that workss well. For now I am just doing sit-ups as an added extra to my routine. I will have to try to get some extra cardio in too.

I think with tummy fat it is all about cardio. Weight training is always good and really helps with the pear shape ladies with legs and hips but cardio is the way to burn the fat. I want to not only loose fat but look tone and shapely and that is were the weights come in. I don't think I will ever get rid of this tummy 100% and the loose skin. I am trying cardio, tons of crunches and weights but it is still two big jelly like rolls! That is why I have made the choice to go with a TT. It is only because I am healthy, don't smoke, eat well and have lost most of my weight and looking at my body with no clothes on, I have muscular nice legs and my arms are in good shape and getting better now with the weights then I have this big barrel at my waist? I think this will bring me in proportion and help me complete my weight loss. I can then improve on it and maintain for the rest of my life! Not that a TT is the only answer or for every one but it seem right for me at this time in my life. It has been such a long road and was so worth it. But back to tummy fat. The doctor said tummy fat is not very responsive (I took that as, it was had to get rid of) and cardio is the way to burn it along with a lean diet. Women that hold fat in the tummy need to eat lean proteins and veggies. No fried stuff and trans fats like in doughnuts...... Good luck!
