Hi all,
I haven't been here in an unbelieveable amt of time. And I haven't been op either. I was happy to hear about successes. I'm up about 5 lbs. WRONG DIRECTION. Heading out for my walk pronto. I had even stopped that. Oddly, I think hot weather was forcing me out early, and with the cooler weather, and no pressure, it wasn't getting done. It really makes me feel better.
Hello ladies!! and big congrats to you losing chicks!! hey, the dancin' banana is now a carrot
I'm starting my 3rd week on the anti-depressants. I do feel better already, which is probably psychological, as my doc said that usually people don't feel the effects until 4 weeks...I am sure I feel better just that I took a step to help myself. I also have my first counseling session this Thursday morning. I'm a little nervous about that, but I have to do it.
Congrats on the 10 pound loss Timmy! Thats fantastic
VermontMom you could be feeling results from the antidepressant as soon as three. It can take 4 weeks to feel the full effects. Good luck with your counseling.
hope everyone's well...had my GB surgery 11/18 and i'm doing great, thank God! hope everyone had a great thanksgiving!
i'm still on my low fat diet. believe me that was the only thing that saved me from horrendous pain!
once i get the okay from my DR i am going to get into an exercise program.
and hopefully i will lose more weight faster (fingers crossed).
has anyone been watching the biggest loser? i been watching it for awhile and those people lost awesome amount of weight, Wow! they look great!
i lost another 2 pounds in a few weeks but i'll take it. it's better then gaining.
well take care all, God Bless.
Ciao,
Lucille
p.s. for anyone that remembers, i told you that my husband would not acknowledge my weight loss, well last night he finally owned up to it...and people at work noticed too...FEELS GREAT!!!

Thats great lucille. I know what you mean about hubby not saying anything about weight loss. Mine didnt for a LONG time. In fact he didnt say much until like 5lbs ago. He finally said I look good (granted he liked me before too) but then told me I am getting toooooo thin?!?! Yeah, like that is possible at 180lbs? I dont think so, but I know what he ment.
Well I finally came off my plateau (lasted 3 LONG weeks). And, I seem to have come off it with a bang! 3lbs lost in 1 week, and over Thanksgiving no less!!!! WOOHOO. I am only 1 pound away from my Original Thanksgiving goal weight, and I think I will have it by the end of this week, so being only a week behind isnt bad at all in my book. I have 9 lbs togo to make my New Years Goal and I seriously think I will make it with little hold up. I have implemented walking on my treadmill 2 days/skip a day/2 days for 20-30 min each time. So that helps. I will be able to gradually increase that as the pain in my leg subsides. (Hopefully by New Year)
Sounds like the good ol' calorie counters are moving right along in the right direction...good luck to everyone and congrats on all the pounds!
Well hello all,
What happened to this thread. Everybody's drifting , like moi.
I thought I wasn't getting email notices because I hadn't been to the site, but it turns out there weren't any.
Well Congrats Lucille, and Gonnaloseit. Me too.
I went back up to 218 and fortunately I'm back on track again - down to 211.4. It went down fast, probably a lot of water, but skinny ankles is ok with me.
We are moving to CT, leaving Thurs, ouch that's tomorry.
Bye for now.
my husband knew what i looked like when i was 21 and blonde long hair @ 110lbs and he knew he couldn't keep the men away then! LOL...
so i really believe this is killing him that i'm losing weight but believe me that was then i wouldn't be doing that goofy stuff any more too old for that crap! LOL...
great for you about the 3 lb loss we'll take anything!!! (high five).
i've said this before in here but it's worth repeating because i repeat over and over in my head:
I should have started this 25 years ago, the low fat diet. i used to be on the low carb, no carb, no white stuff etc., weight watchers, God whatever else and low and behold something so simple--LOWFAT, NO FAT...
ladies, anyone reading this, it's sooooo simple, if i can do it YOU CAN TO!!
yeah, i miss a lot of food especially red meat but you know if i want i have something special once a week. like a piece of entermanns cake but i do check the fat content...so i can have the ocassional piece of cake or pasta...just remember DON'T OVERDO>..if you have a taste for something, do just that a TASTE, a bite...it helps tremendously. the other night i made fries & hamburgers (i really can't eat the burger) but i had to take 1 fry. believe me it wasn't easy...BUT IT SURE TASTED GOOD!!! LOL...i eat a lot of chicken & turkey, tuna on whole wheat etc...
hope that helps anyone struggling...again, it's been about 25 years since i EVER lost weight so i'm not going to blow it...
yes, I'll be back. For me its counting calories, not eating "in the dark" so to speak.
Really gotta go fill the car . We drive 2 cars from Savannah to CT.
Will be back here when I can.

Elyse--wow, from GA to CT...what a drastic change! I grew up in CT, and I visited Georgia this past June, and MAN what a difference! Good luck with the move!
As for the low-fat diet, I think it all depends on the individual. I, for one, certainly do not eat a low-fat diet. I don't keep track of my carbs, protein, or fat, only my calories. As long as my blood pressure and cholesterol remain normal, I'm not too worried about it. When I eat too low fat, I feel hungrier more often (fat keeps me feeling fuller longer since it takes longer to digest), so I actually often end up eating MORE calories if it's all fat-free or low-fat stuff. Of course, I don't eat full-fat everything (I drink skim milk and eat lean meats), but I don't pay nearly as much attention to fat grams as I do to calories
Hi lisi,
good luck with your move...welcome to the northeast!!! ready for some cold snowy winters??? it's not that bad...talk to you soon. hope to see you back here soon...hang in...
Hi jillybean,
believe me if it was up to me i would be eating a little more fat but because i had a problem with gall stones i had to have my GB removed and i still can't eat too much fat...i too drink the 'blue' milk, but you get used to it...and absolutely you are right everyone is different...unfortunately i have to stay on a low fat or no fat diet...the point i was trying to drive home is, like i heard on TV many, many times...DIETS DON'T WORK. and i swore i would never go on a fad diet...which i really didn't. i thought things through and did diets that made sense. i am a carb addict...so i thought by elimating my carb intake i would lose....A BIG FAT NOPE!!! on atkins and lost 3 pounds in a month...on this low fat i lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks. so i know it wasn't the "water weight" it was actual fat and the rest is history. now down 18 pounds and feel great.
sometimes the simplest, 'right in your face' diet works! or i should say watching what you eat.
believe me if it was up to me i would be eating a little more fat but because i had a problem with gall stones i had to have my GB removed and i still can't eat too much fat
When I read a previous post of yours and saw "GB surgery," I thought you meant Gastric Bypass surgery! I was like, well duh, no wonder she's not eating any fat and is losing weight Gall bladder removal is quite different, though, and makes much more sense now in context.
And I SO agree with you about needing to work in little treats (like you mentioned the Entenman's cake). I eat out once or twice a week with my boyfriend and order whatever I want for dinner (though I never clear my plate anymore, so I am doing much better on portion control). It saves me from feeling deprived, which I agree is very important for anyone trying to lose weight
Can I join you? I am struggling and floundering. It is a long story but anyway I did do WW and was doing fine but with my schedule and lack of funds I needed something cheap and easy. This makes sense to me, losing weight is all math they say!
