  • amie~keep pluggin along. It is very hard to fight the munchies. Sending you some will power vibes!!

Holly~I am looking to get some highlights too, just not sure when I have the time!

Doing ok, but I seem to have hit a plateu. I know I am working out, and building muscle, but this weight is still unhealthy, wether it is fat or muscle. Does anyone have any ideas for busting through this plateu??? Food has been good, and so far I have gotten to the gym 2days this week, and I am planning on going today and tomorrow. Have to run and get DS on the bus.

  • Hello all. I'm much older than posters here, but since I'm counting calories too...maybe I can join.
Not sure I'll ever get back, as my puter seldom allows me to log in.Hoping my SIL can fix whatever the prob is. I am on AOL, but my addy for 3FC is Yahoo. Ah,well...a puter expert,I'm not!
Started latest diet in Jan & have lost about 20pds......can't exercise much at all...due to med probs. I do have a glider, but it's in an un heated garage, so have to wait till the weather gets a bit warmer.
    DH is retired & we have 2 Dds & 3 teen Grkids.Love to travel in our 5th wh,read & quilt.Nice to meet you all,Pat
  • Welcome Patce!!!

Good morning all!! I am trying to regain my motivation. Have been slacking off the last couple of days. Need to get my rear in gear and get moving!!!
  • Welcome Patce there is no age limit here so welcome aboard.
Upswife sometimes you just have to mix things up a bit to get yah going again with loss of wt or inches. Holly is very good at giving advice with this matter. I have in the past tried to shake up my exercise a bit. Sometimes our systems get used to the same old routine. Also changing your intake should make a difference. Take a look at your intake and see if you can add in more fiber and whole grains and veggies. I shoot for 1400 cals a day since my vacation from Hawaii its been hard for me to get below 1500. But today I am shooting for 1400 cals. I was so active there that I didn't have to worry so much about intakes. Now I am home and its a bit different. Part of my job is sitting at a desk. So my activity level is different. I also need to shake things up a bit. I did pull a spring skirt out of the closet that fit really well today. So I am pleased with that and hopefully it will give me an incentive to stay on track better. I am looking forward to payday being friday. I am going to purchase a few new spring clothes for work. The winter stuff is blah and needs to be put away. After being in summer clothes on my trip this stuff in my closet sure is needing some storage time. Time to make some positive changes for myself. If I don't do it no one can do it for me. So its better intakes and exercise for me! Have a great one everyone.
  • cacmsc~I was going to change my exercise a little, and add more cardio, but DD has been sick, so I haven't made it to the gym. DH realized that because of DD and work I did not make it so he is going to watch the kiddies so I cna go work out this evening. I am really looking forward to it, and can't wait to go. Eating was much better yesterday, so I am going to try again today. I need to get better about writing what I eat down. I did much better seeing everything I ate. WIll try to pick that back up. Have to run, and get some housewrok done. Later chicas
  • Hi all,

I just got my DD over a tummy virus and then I got it! I am back at work today after loosing 2 1/2 days.....

I am doing alright with work outs and eating. Still not 100% but am working on it. I am down 2 lbs. but I am chalking that one up to the virus

Oh, My DH has been walking on the treadmill several times a week, playing tennis with me too! I hope he sticks with it!

Hope you are all doing well..... I am trying to post pictures of my 5 weeks Post op TT but can not get it to work!

Hi Holly, newbies.... How's that baby doing Aphil?

    Amie
  • Hello ladies!! sorry it's been a while since I said hi. Pat, welcome! Lisi's right, no age limit here

and Lisi, thank you for saying I was knowledgeable about something I still regard Aphil as our eating/exercise advice leader; if I give any good advice it's only 'cause I heard it from someone else, LOL

I got those highlights in my hair! Honey and caramel (YUM) colors, as the stylist described them. I love 'em!

I had two 'cookie-free' days, that's big for me!

amie! I changed my mind again about my new bike; instead of the leftover '05, I bought an '06 that is crammed already with chrome goodies!! I saw it on the dealer floor when I went to buy gloves, and fell in love with it. The dealer said, 'you know, you can swap your incoming '05 for this bike, if you want.' I said YES! It was more $$$$ but that's OK. Can't wait to get some pics to show you. And of course, I'll be riding her in Myrtle Beach! :scooter
  • Good morning ladies!

Had a busy weekend, tons of rain here though, so not too much time outside I have been fighting the scale for that last couple of days...but I think it is probably TOM water weight> Keep your fingers crossed.

Holly~your new bike sounds awsome...are you going to post the pics here? and you highlights sound delicious!!!

Amie~we had that bug here too. my girls both just got over it, but DS is saying his stomache hurts. let's just hope he ate too much yesterday
  • Holly-awesome sounding bike! I am so happy for you!
  • o \Ellen I hope that shaking up the exercise does the trick. I also need to journal my intake. I have added to my little notebook my wt. too, goals mini goals etc. It helps for me to stay on track and better focused. Every little bit helps. I did 4 miles around the lakes yesterday! Good start to my week. But today I sure feel it in my hips. That is good though!
Holly good for you I can picture you on that bike now. Can't wait to see it. I got a harley shirt while in Hawaii. My sons good friend owns his own repair shop and paint shop for harleys. The hubby and I both were given a shirt from him. Cool shop he has with an old 1969 Indian bike etc... Have fun riding and becareful.
Spring is suppose to be here but today it is rainy and suppose to have a little possible snow shower! Oh my little spring flowers were peeking up through.
  • good morning!

cacmsc - four miles, WOW! that is great! I'd feel that in my hips, also. Way to go!

Ellen, sorry to hear of your family with the tummy bug - you also, amie!

and Ellen, I was so discouraged last week when I weighed myself and TOM tacked on 3 pounds!! I knew I hadn't eaten that many calories to justify that kind of gain, but it sure stinks to see that. Thank goodness they 'went away' after TOM.

Hi aphil! thank you, and love your avatar, if I haven't said that yet! Bewitching and beguiling

As soon as I get my bike home, I'll post pics, or links to pics. BUT we have 6-12" of snow forecast for tomorrow, ARGH!!! ah, spring in Vermont, LOL

    have a great day!

p.s. - I definitely have had progress with adding extra cardio with each session! and watching the cookie intake.
  • HI,

Holly I am so happy you are getting a new bike! I know you will have a ball in Myrtle Beach. We are still planning to go but maybe just one night? My DH wants to trade in his for a Springer but his is an 05' and he has add a lot of chrome to it...... Don't know about more debt! I hope to see you there and your pics soon....

I am doing alright. Didn't get a lot of working out in over the weekend but I did do a lot of hard yard work so.... I have my 2 month check up with my doc today. Next month he will take an after picture of me and put it with the picture from before the surgery and put it in his book. I need to get my self back into my weight training and cardio video I will ask today about doing squats and weights, I am sure it is fine.... I am struggling to get my workouts up to a higher level. I have been doing the minimum and struggling with that??? Eating is average trying to clean that up too. I can not let my self slide with only 14 lbs to loose! I also want to keep this new tummy!!

Hope you are all doing well.

  • Counting Calories
Hello all & thanks for the welcome.Wt is staying the same, but loss has slowed to a stop. As soon as weather warms up, hope to get some walking in & use my glider.Still counting cals....so maybe I'll wake up some day & have lost 5pds? In my dreams! Ah well...whatever.Good luck to all....Won't comment on the new bike...as I know from nothing...enjoy it.Envy the other girls trip to Hawaii...sounds great! Pat C
  • Hello! Can I join in? I'm currently using a computer program to keep track of eating and exercising, so does that count as "old fashioned"? I'm at 1300 net calories per day.
  • Maria there is always room for new people. Welcome!
Well my new out look on making healthy changes is walking, journaling and trying my best! I have started with my buddies to walk around the lake again. I have also started to chart it so far this month 12 miles. I am hoping for almost 50 by the end of the month. My hips do hurt a bit but I know its a good ache. So its okay nothing a little motrin won't cure. I have a long term goal and a short term. That way it will seem reachable. Well good luck everyone. Holly I can't wait to see your bike. You go girl!
