Thank you, my dear. Got through yesterday just fine.

I'm questioning how I got through Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas without the candy, and almost no baked goods (still remember the blueberry cobbler episode.) Then Valentine candy appearred and I started to cave. Before Valentine's Day was over, the Easter candy appearred and I have been having such a hard time. I've had a few chocoloate marshmallow eggs here and there, but just like one a week for a treat.

Just goes to show you how we've accustomed food and CANDY to holidays, and I am a sucker for the lovely candy displays in the stores. I will be so thankful when this week is over, and those displays are replaced with Memorial Day and July 4th Summer picnic paraphenalia. You can't eat plastic.

Dip - You sure about that?? I've heard chocolate covered plasticwear is quite tasty. It might just do in a pinch.

You're so right about holidays being associated with food. I thought I was strong enough to make it through Easter, but just totally lost it at my mother's Easter meal, and it was not even good (sorry, Mom). In past years, I would not have stopped and cleaned up the next day, so at least I'm doing something right.

Wow - last night's free meal was a doozy:
countless tortilla chips with salsa or guacamole
5 margaritas
1 scoop B&J coconut almond fudge ice cream

My actual dinner was good - just chicken breast and spanish rice.

I'm kind of amazed that I don't feel worse this morning - but I'll take that as a lucky break.

Tiki, has something happened recently? It almost seems like self-sabotage. What are you thinking/feeling when you reach for this stuff? Since the majority of it is "sweets" how about trying some substitutes like FF hot chocolate (Kroger's brand is only 25 calories, 4g of carbs and even has 2g protein) or whole grain toast with All Fruit instead of Pop-Tarts? (I use to be a Pop-Tart freak.) I have several substitues I use for sweet cravings, but I don't get salty cravings like pretzels.

So what's up? Man, I care about you and hate to see you going this way, KWIM?

Another suggestion Sweet Tik, I know how buzzzzy you are, maybe you're not planning ahead of time, you dont have time to think so you just eat....

Now I'm a fine one to talk ...

Last night I had 15 almonds, 2oz chocolate, popcorn...GRRRR I on the other hand am not buzzzzy like Tik and have NO excuse at all except poor planning...

The food list plans is already made and I have a litre if water in front of me as we speak...

Later...

CEREAL! I know, not typically that bad, but a terrible habit/trigger for me! I had added in some All-Bran to try to get some fiber into my day, but this week, at my friends' houses, I had Frosted Mini-wheats and Special K Strawberry - two of my absolute favorites... So then last night, back at home, I had 2 (!) bowls of my All-Bran! Like I said - a terrible habit I have.

I think these extra carbs are what's causing the sweet cravings during the day - not to mention eating chocolate-based protein bars as MRP while travelling. Need to knock this all off - back to oatmeal w/pp at night, and no more bars! Had another one today because I forgot my CC and pineapple for meal 2 today. Sloppy planning!

That's all! Oh, wait - I had nachos for dinner last night - FF tortilla chips with melted cheese and salsa. Two plates full. Guess that's why I then had 2 bowls of cereal! Not an ideal dinner. I need to knock this off!

I hear you on the cereal Cindy, I used to be the same, and still am if I get going...

I have found a new red light food dang almonds... I bought a bag last week and it's already gone... No more of that I tell ya...

Yesterday was a better food day but not perfect... I had a sliver of pizza for supper and wine ... The rest of the day was good....

Today I am aiming for perfection...

BTW I HATE coming here!! Next week I have a goal to stay out of this thread...

I was tight on time last week and hit on the cereal too - a blend of Special K Strawberries and Flax cereal or All Bran. Funny, it didn't do the carb craving number on me like oatmeal can.

But my reason for this visit - I did fairly well this past weekend until the ride home. We stop at the same gas station and I needed coffee, badly, and being that late in the day I thought I'd be safe and all the Krispy Kremes would be gone - wrong. Seems no one wanted chocolate covered long johns that day except moi. THREE! I bought and ate THREE. And they gave me heartburn, something I hadn't experienced in a very long time.

Cindy, I keep sugar free Creme Savers and Tootsie Roll Pops in the car for traveling. But I don't get into them it seems until the last hour or so.

Dip - thanks for sharing the KK heartburn story - that will keep me away for a while... We just had the first store open here a few months ago, and people are constantly bringing them into work. I'm often tempted, so thanks for the reminder that they make us feel crappy.

I need to visit here because of yesterday - comfort food eaten due to a nasty cold I've picked up. Grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch, several bowls of homeade chicken noodle soup throughout the afternoon, and a cheese quesadilla for dinner. Oh, yeah, and more cereal, with a bit of honey, in an attempt to soothe my throat. Today I have no appetite at all, which is probably a good thing!

Ooh - this can't be good - I was the last one to post here, and now here I am again....

Anyway, I'm here to confess, yet brag at the same time. Today I was craving pizza. I went to do my grocery shopping today, and found myself staring at the frozen pies... But, instead of giving in and bringing home a fat-filled Freschetta, I went and got WW tortillas, low-fat mozzarella, and a jar of pizza sauce. Came home and made myself two "pizza quesadillas", and had them for dinner. Curbed my craving for pizza, and managed to avoid all those fat and calories. Not enough protein, but maybe I'll have some slices of turkey breast in a bit just to round out the meal.

Lets see..
hot and spicy smokies off the grill yesterday,
3 slices of smoked cheddar cheese
1 scoop of sugar free tin roof sundae ice cream. (ate one scoop, tossed the 2nd one)
lite syrup on my shanny cakes - (not a whole lot though and DD caught me before I licked the plate)
A bunch of fresh strawberries

Hey this confessional isn't nearly the nightmare that my other ones were. Those were total carb, white flour, sugar gluttonies. This one was more fat related.
