Awesome job Mimi! And I will second kimo88 that if you are getting veggies with butter, that's not going to affect ketosis.
Regarding wine, the thing about any alcoholic drink when on this diet isn't so much about the carbs as it is about how your body metabolizes what you're drinking.
No matter what your metabolism is doing (whether functioning regularly or burning fat via ketosis), when you drink any alcoholic beverage the body immediately begins metabolizing the alcohol and stops metabolizing anything else. So essentially, until your body is done metabolizing the alcohol, it is no longer burning fat for you. Something to bear in mind even when considering having "no carb" alcoholic drinks
Thank you ladies -- appreciate the support and info re ketosis and carbs. Feeling a little better today as I managed to find a big salad for lunch (while everyone else had burgers). Had brought along individual packets of WF creamy bacon dressing so I was set. Will try same thing at dinner. Hope y'all have a beautiful day!
Happy Christmas Eve ladies! I am so excited to hear about all the NSVs and inches lost. That's fantastic!!
I'm hanging in there, a little defeated mentally as I feel I am missing out, but I am still plugging away. Tonight will be hard, as will tomorrow. But, I am going to make good choices and remember how good being on track will feel as opposed to falling off the wagon, if only for one meal!
For staying on program, especially during this tempting time of year. I hope you see a great payoff for your investment.

Hmm123 - WAAHOOOOO! Great news! You are rocking it my dear, I am so proud of ya!
SweetRelease - thank you! We are all doing this in a tough time of year, it's so nice to have the encouragement of each other.

Well ladies, I had my weigh in today and am VERY pleased to say I am down 2 lbs this week. My coach and I had a goal of 1 pound, so we were both doing the happy dance with 2. It's not a big number, but I did have a few things that were not OP and savoured every single bite. I had a scoop of my Mom's famous broccoli rice casserole as well as some Christmas Morning Wifesaver (and a few glasses of wine). Everything was simply divine and I had very small portions and really didn't feel terrible about it as they were my favourite things.
I am also having my own little celebration as I have met my 2nd mini goal of being 35 pounds down at this weigh in. Next stop - ONEDERLAND!!

How's everyone else doing??
Wow, that is awesome Teags! So happy you met your goal, way to go!
Santa brought me a new scale that my target is programmed into.. Quite exciting even though I realize it is not great to weigh in every day, I needed it for sanity sake.. Anyway, I got on it today and cheered as I am 1/3 of the way to my goal! Yippee!
My DH usually fills my stocking with treats but this year he put in a head of broccoli, 2 English dukes and 7 of my favorite IP bars (chocolate mint). I am so grateful for his amazing support!
Where is everyone?!?! Are we still OP or do we need some motivation?!
Hi Teags (and everyone else),
I'm still here. OP and losing slowly, but still losing. I've been sick as a dog for 2 weeks now. They claim it's not the real flu, but I feel flu-y. That makes it very difficult to eat properly. No appetite, upset stomach, sore throat, exhausted! I think the poor intake has slowed my losses
Made it through Christmas OP, having dinner with my family at my sister's house. Lots of questions about why I wasn't eating all the goodies. Luckily being sickish was a great way to stop the comments and get a few poor baby comments instead.
I was thinking today about New Year's resolutions and how this year (2014) I've actually kept one! I planned on losing weight in 2014 and I have thanks to IP. Gave me a little lift and placed a smile on my face.
NSV: I've been wearing some of my nice clothes that were a little tight last year and getting complimented on my outfits. Some I had forgotten all about. I got new jammies from my kids for Christmas ( a Christmas eve tradition in our family) and the bottoms are sliding off. I'll have to add a draw string or something to them because they really are comfy and cute. Plus (maybe TMI?) I had some really cute bras (and cute bras are hard to find in bigger cup sizes) that I was spilling out of that now fit very well. They give the girls a little pick me up!
Obviously the cold pills are doing a little talking. Time for another nap.
Good morning everyone! hmm and Teags -- yay for your losses and for making such great headway toward your goals! Just returned from our trip and was shocked to be down over a pound and down several fat pounds. I stayed as on plan as I much as reasonable except for a couple of intentional deviations, which I savored. Sounds kinda like what you did, Teags. At least for vacation, that approach helped me not feel like I was depriving myself when everyone around me was consuming whatever they liked. One night we ate a family-style place, and, after salad, I ate a few bites of a very rich main course that we were all sharing. I actually felt almost immediate heartburn. Good reminder to stop that! That was enough of a taste for me….
etherbunny -- sorry you've been sick. Take care of yourself and don't worry about the scale right now. If you have the energy, an easy chicken & veggie soup (made with packaged low-sodium broth, shredded chicken and simples veggies such as handfuls of baby spinach) will help get your requirements in. Also, just wanted to add yay re the clothes fitting better! I'm with you…the 2+ inches off my chest have made as big of a difference to me and how things fit as the inches off other areas
Anyway, happy to be back home and more in control now. Happy day everyone!
Christmas turned out not to be the day I expected as my uncle passed away unexpectedly which resulted in my sister, daughter and I throwing the presents in the car and running home to Pennsylvania to be with family. I forgot my IP products, my IP food tracker and didnt pack any clothes besides sweats and tshirts. Now Im back in Virginia to pack a real suitcase and the family is going to head to Florida this week where my uncle will be buried. Needless to say I don't expect to meet my new years goal but atleast I can get back OP today. I can only imagine what the scale will say tomorrow at my WI although I am going to drink as much water as possible to begin flushing my system I really dont want to see the scale tomorrow.
