Hello Everyone!
To say this thread is busy is a real understatement isn't it?!?! I think I have been sitting here reading all the threads for the past several days for what feels like several days

I honestly think I have sat here for over 3 hours! It's great that our team is so active!!! I thank my lucky stars for being placed on the Black Team!
I work odd hours which makes it difficult to be present here as much as I'd like. I work night shift... I work 7 days and then am off for 7 days; during the working days I don't have much time to do a lot other than work, sleep and eat... night shift is like that...messes up our body clocks. A couple of weeks ago I tried exercising after work and ended up getting very sick for the following week. It was awful! I suppose I was pushing myself too hard. Anyway here I am, ready to join in and be probably the last person to fill in the "get to know you" questions:
Accent: Southern (I've lived in Georgia most of my adult life.) Currently live in Alabama where the accent is a lot more "hard" on the ears. Most people say I don't have much of an accent. I guess it's from moving around so much all over the country (Dad was in the military) and growing up in New Mexico.
Best Friend: Toss up between my husband and my sister...depends on the situation.
Chore I hate: Any chore requiring me get on my knees; my left one is weak.
Dad's name: Robert Bruce
Essential make-up product: lipstick
Favorite perfume: Shalimar
Gold or silver? White Gold mostly but I love my Indian jewelry too.
Hometown: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Interesting fact: Back-packed around Europe with my sister & had a great time...back when we were young and cute!
Job title: Charge nurse in a Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery (NICU)
Kids: None (unable to become preggers); love and adore my 2 nieces (11 & 6 year old absolute darlings if I do say so myself!)
Living arrangements: Live with my husband, his name is Guru (really!)
Mom's birthplace: Hamilton, Georgia
Number of apples eaten in the last week: 3
Overnight hospital stays: Too many to count. 13 kidney-bladder surgeries as a child. Last year spent 5 nights in hospital after having ovaries removed (all the scar tissue from childhood surgeries made what was supposed to be a 30 minute simple surgery turn into a major 3 1/2 hour laparotomy!) We call it the "nurse curse" when nurses are in hosptial because we often get every complication!
Phobia: I'm afraid of drowning for some reason...
Question you ask yourself a lot: I'm constantly thinking about what I will cook next and making out grocery lists. When I work the long 7 day stretch I have to really have everything planned out. It would be wonderful beyond belief to have a personal chef!

I've been doing WW online for about a month now and am learning how to eat healthy foods... I'm totally out of my comfort zone but enjoying learning!
Religious affiliation: Christian, brought up as a Methodist
Siblings: 1 sister, Susan, 2 1/2 years younger than me; I actually look up to her in awe of all she does (single mom... you know how hard that is)
Time I wake up: It depends on which day it is. I tend to stay on a night schedule even during the days which I don't work.
Unnatural hair color: My hair is salt & pepper, mostly pepper. I used to have the hairdresser color it but I got so tired of the roots thing. I recently had a person ask me "Who does your highlights?". Surprised me! I told her "God" and we got a good chuckle out of it!
Vegetable I refuse to eat: I've never met a vegetable I didn't like.
Worst habit: Couch potato. I love to read and/or watch tv. Neither burns calories unfortunately!
X-tra info? I miss my beautiful Irish Setter, Jesse, who passed a way a few years ago. She was my true love pet. I'm ready emotionally for another pet but my lifestyle and yard are not proper for bringing a companion in to.
Yummy food I make: To my detriment I am a pretty good cook; my butt shows it too! I grew up cooking Southern food as well as New Mexican food (my parents family foods). My first mother-in-law was a great cook and taught me a lot about "American" meat & potatoes food. My current husband (of almost 8 years) Mom is from Serbia, Dad is from Orissa, India and my husband grew up in Greece where his Dad ran a bunch of paper mills from when my husband was 6 years old. From his Mom, who is an awesome cook, I have learned to cook Serbian/Hungarian food, Indian food and Greek food dishes. I have to say my favorite is the Indian food. Unfortunately most of all these recipes are not figure-friendly!
Zodiac sign: Virgo
