Yesterday, I got sidetracked at Sonic and ate a half of one of those fat laden, high calorie, high carb breakfast sammies. UGH !! And I did not get back home in time to walk my mile and a half. Today I hope I have time for my walk. I have to wash and detail our car. But at least the food issue won't be there.

Good afternoon, ladies!

Just a quick check in this time. 8 days to go on this challenge! I am once again 2 lbs from my V-day goal. No pressure or anything. lol.

DG, our normal gig is to shoot for about 6-8 weeks for a challenge, which would make the next likely one Easter. That gives everybody a little wiggle room for goal setting with the scale, or it's a good trial period for taking on a new exercise program, so it seems to work pretty well. I'm flexible, though, if anybody wants the challenges to be shorter. We could do some 4 weekers like St Pats/Easter/Mother's Day.

Oy, this was supposed to be quick, and I've been here too long already. I'll check in later! I've got to go to the bank, pay some bills, run a few errands.

Hoo-boy. I somehow met my goal, I dunno how that happened. Well, yeah - I do. I was/am a major diet soda head. I cut it out completely as an experiment and replaced it with water, and whoosh goes the toilet and my weight.

Jammyjam - Congrats on your PR! Wow!

Nickirose - we'll send you a bottle of body glitter and cheap, funky smelling raspberry spray to celebrate your new career!

Thanks, FB! If anything exciting happens with the weight lifting, you know I have to come tell you first! Congrats on making your V-day goal!

I bought some 34" waist jeans today, and they fit! I thought they would, since the others were about falling off, but still, it was nice to confirm my new smaller size. Also, a little drum-rrrrrroll please....I bought some new workout pants in size...wait for it...medium. That's right, the big M. Yep, I'm all that, or NOT all that anymore. Reaching a size "M" was my original "hope I can get down to that size" goal. And they really fit, not like, I squeezed into them with a shoe horn, but they actually fit, room to breathe and everything! It's crazy! I also splurged and bought a digital camera. I've wanted one for a few years, so I finally got one. Still have to read the 42 page manual to learn how to use the thing, but I'm excited because I'll be able to share pics a lot easier now.

On the down side, I'm exhausted and my workout was crap today. I did it, but the last few days I've just felt tired all day long. I'm sure it's just the more intense workout load, and my body needs time to adjust. I had the same problem when I first started lifting. At least this time I know that I need to just push through it, then it will go away, I'll get my energy back. The late nights aren't helping, either, I'm sure, so I need to get my schedule straightened out, or rather, the boy's schedule, so I'm not up past midnight every night.

Hi CC Friends!

One week until Valentine's day! I am 3 pounds from my goal of 15...It's going to take a great week...we'll see.

The quickie biz trip was a nice night away. It was Brrrr...cold up there! Since we are still struggling with our 3.5 year old's sleeping issues it was peaceful to have quiet hotel room all to myself. I did skip my workout on Thursday, but Friday morning I hit the hotel gym for cardio before flying home. This morning I had a great session with my trainer! Tonight we are going on a dinner date with 3 other couples. I know I will be able to control my choices, but I'm seriously thinking about a glass of wine and dessert. We'll see what I decide when I get there.

FB - Big Grats on meeting your goal and cutting out the diet soda!

Jam - Lots of exciting stuff! YAY on the smaller jeans and on the M workout pants! That's awesome. I might pass out the day that I put on a MEDIUM anything!!! Oh...new digital....pictures please!!!!

Hello to everyone else! I'm going to jump in the shower while I sort of have a quiet moment.

Laters....

Hey ladies!

I'm feeling a little zippier today. Eating on time helps, duh! Also got my workout in at a decent hour today. Thinking about skating tonight. Our rink's still not open at the new location yet, but I could go up to a 'nother rink to skate. I dunno. I miss my old rink and all my old skatin' pals.

Just back from a fun dinner out with friends. Yep. Ate too much. This is really the first time in my weight loss journey that I conciously went out knowing that I was going to enjoy a glass of wine and enjoy dessert. I will not beat myself up about it. I will not feel guilty. I will NOT make a habit of it. It was a special treat, a special night out. Now it's overwith and tomorrow I will be POP yet again. I have learned so much and changed so much in this process. Yep...I'm scared to get on the scale tomorrow, but I certainly will not gain 91 pounds back because of one dinner out.

So, get this....you know we've been struggling (BIG TIME) with our 3 year old's sleep issues. We can't get him to bed, can't keep him in bed... So, we have our usual baby sitter tonight and warn her about the recent sleep problems. We get home to discover he fell asleep on the couch at 7:30, she carried him up to bed and he's been fast asleep since then. We've asked her to come over every night!

Now that I have some free time I don't know what to do with myself...maybe I'll go catch up on some TV.

Night Friends.

.....totally jinxed myself! Here I sit, about an hour an a half later...laptop in bed. Attempting to play tough and keep shooing my son back to bed. I'm so frustrated....part of me wants to just hold him and snuggle him until he falls asleep....but he also has to learn to stay in his bed.

Oy...this parenting stuff is tuff.

Oh...I think I won the battle. Every time he got out of his bed (I'm watching him on a video baby monitor) I went into his room to tell him that it was time for night-night and that I loved him. This went on for about 30 minutes. Then he started screaming for juice. I told him he could have a sip of water or nothing. He opted for the water. I gave a few sips, tucked him back in bed and now he's fast asleep once again...hopefully for another 7 hours!

Barb, I hope you win the war soon. My boy always had a dog (or three) to sleep with, so he didn't really go through that. I wonder if you can wear the boy out with a walk or bike ride around the block, or something, before bedtime? Or cut out nap time if he's taking a nap in the afternoon? Anyway, I hope you figure out the magic formula soon!

I've been gaining weight all this week, and couldn't figure out what the deal was. I'd bought myself some cereal, just to have something different for breakfast. I don't normally eat the grains, though, so I'm guessing that's the culprit. I can't think of what else it would be, because I'm keeping it OP with the cals and workouts and water. I'm gonna ditch the cereal and see if that fixes things.

I got good news last night. The rink is opening at the new location on the 20th of this month. woohoo! I've been missing my skating workouts!

Oh, Barb.

Cereal Jammy? Oh man, I cannot remember the last time I had cereal. I go hog wild on it, so it's best kept away. I can see where it would make a difference with water weight, particularly if you're otherwise lower carbohydrate. But I don't know if you are?

I dunno what's up with the weight gain, does your misery want company? Too bad - I'm up over 3 for no good reason - taking away my challenge victory ENTIRELY! BAH! $%$^!!!! But, since I saw it on the scale I get to keep it I say. Hopefully I'll be back to where I was by V-Day so I don't feel like a big liar.

Weekend is good with my recreational/gym break exercise plan, yesterday was 12 miles with the little man on the tandem bike hookup (a half bike that connects to mine), today a 90 minute walk with a friend, including a half mile uphill run. Shew-ee and howza! I killed that in 3 minutes, 25 seconds. I am not a runner, so I was damned proud! So I rewarded myself afterward with a leisurely walking pace and good girl gossip. That counts, I say. Taking advantage of the nice-ish weather for sure.
