  • FPants, a personal trainer is very effective; i was able to work with one a few years back and he taught me properly on how to do circuit training. It is something you will never forget! yay go girl with the PT!
  • weigh-in results
    Hey ladies,

So good news... the scale did me right today... real right... exact figure? Drumroll please (LOL)......... 155lbs!! So that would be a weight loss of 9.8lbs since New Years! YAY!

Thanks for all your good luck wishes. I'm sure your positive energy went straight into the little cardboard box where I packed up the scales in sometime last night. LOL.

Riding on the high of weigh-in I went to Spinning Class and totally kicked butt on a really vigorous interval workout. Food was not so hot though- I only did 1,000 calories. But tomorrow I'm aiming for 1,400 so in the end it will be fine.

So.... we're in February... and 14 days away from d-day!
We just need to get through the last lap. We can do it! Good luck ladies!
  • thanks for the welcome ladies....

since last week i have lost 3 lbs... not as much as i had hoped but it is totally fine with me. im still aiming to lose 7 more lbs by vday and i will do my best to get there!

congrats on the rest of you who are that much closer to your goals and good luck on the rest of the way.... way to go!
  • Barb- Wow you look so good! I am loving the hair!!

FB- Congrats on the loss!! You truly are inspiring!

    Retired 1- Great Job!!

Shauna- Awesome job for the month of January!! That is really great!!

Jam- Glad to hear that you have some wheels again!! Going without a car sucks!!

    173-3lbs is a great loss!!

to all my other CC friends!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

We went skiing again on Saturday, this time we went to a smaller mountain and they were all out of boots to rent. So we had to pack everyone and everything up and drive an hour to another mountain!! What a pain! But we got about 3 1/2 hours of skiing in! My aunt suprised me and my mom with a family membership to the Y!! So I am excited about that!! I think we are going to put the little guy in swim lessons!!

Well enough of me rambling! Have a great Sunday ladies!!
  • I have a question for all you liftin' ladies!!

I am going to be going to the local Y 3 days a week, I want to do a full body lifting workout on these days. Can anyone give me some examples of a good routine. I googled it but I am not really finding what I am looking for! So I figured that I would just ask the experts!!

Thanks ladies! Enjoy the Super Bowl!
  • hey guys. sorry no personals.....i went out again friday night after work lol and woke up late on saturday. barely had enough time to recover before work again saturday night. then this morning had to get ready for our first mardi gras parade. so been busy here. strangely enough kept OP except for the beer drinking. no fast food...yeah me!

i am up 2 pounds from yesterday but down 3 pounds for the week....so i'm takin that as a positive!!!!
  • Geez..it's been awhile since I've been here. I've been reading, but just haven't been able to post much. It's been a crazy couple of weeks and it is going to be another crazy couple of weeks! But February break will be here shortly....so there is an end in sight, somewhat!

It's been a very exciting weekend though! I got a new bed...FINALLY! I have had the same bedroom set since I was four years old. So, 25 years later, it was finally time to graduate to a "big girl" bed! haha I upgraded from a twin to a full and I love it!! It's so comfortable and I did not want to get up at all this morning. I refer to it as my "Annie" bed because it's so soft and cushiony and it just reminds me of the fancy bed that Annie got to sleep in at Daddy Warbuck's house. LOL...ok, I'm crazy

Then, we set up the webcam and got to skype with my sister, brother-in-law and 5 month old nephew this afternoon. They live about 1500 miles away, so this will be a great way to watch my nephew grow up! He's so cute. We watched him eat green beans and jump in his bouncy seat. Loved it I can't wait to go visit them in Oklahoma in a couple weeks!!!

I'm still trucking along, trying to get out of the 200's. I am hovering around the cusp of breaking through, but nothing yet. There's still two more weeks though...so I'm hoping it all works out. I just want out of here and into onederland!
  • wow chele, i was wondering about skype! very cool.

way to go nikki you party anumal. your attidude is so cool...

sweet shauna congrats wow almot 10 pounds rox!
angel good luck on lifting- thats like graduating! yay!

    i'm in sunny florida still....sigh...
  • Hey CC Friends!

Oy, what a day. DH took off for most of the day and I hung out at home with our two boys. I should have gotten motivated and actually done something with them, but I cleaned a bit while they played and watched TV. I was itching to go to the gym. When DH got home from his day to himself I hit the elliptical for 45 min and then did some abs and stretching. I also tried to hit the punching bag for a bit today....it looks easy when others do it, but I couldn't get the hang of it. That's my new thing I want to figure out. I'm a litte pissy at the hubby today so I'm just in a blah mood. Now my 3.5 yo won't sleep. I just kinda want this day over with. Sorry to whine.

The scale completely freaked out on me today. This morning it said I gained nearly 4 pounds overnight and then when I got on it tonight before dinner just out of curiosity it said I was up 1 from yesterday. Weird. Bodies are crazy things.

Jam - Glad to hear you have some wheels so you can hit the Y! I love hearing about your workouts! They are so inspiring!

BBB - Thank you! I'm 38 so I love hearing that I'm looking younger! I'm feeling it too. Exotic pole dancer? There's an image I'm not ready to think about. Sunny Florida.... .. way to rub it in. Argh. I need to feel the sun!

SweetS - WOOHOO! Awesome Job this month!!!

173 - Good job on the 3 pounds! That's great!!!!

Angel - Thank you. Yay for the Y membership! I've been thinking about it only because I want to get my boys into swimming, but I'm not sure when I'm going to fit it in my schedule. Check with your Y - they may offer a free personal training session or two. Definately take advantage of that to get yourself started on a routine. If you go back a few pages you will see some posts where Jam, FB and I posted our workouts. We all lift and all do different things. Let us know how it goes!!!

Nicki - Sounds like you are busy having fun!

Chele - You are going to be in ONEderland very very soon!

    FB - Whatca up to?

Time to try to wrangle a child back to bed....
    Night Friends!
  • Hey ladies!! I hope all is well, and you had a nice mellow Sunday (those are the best)!

BarbPA- good for you with hitting the treadmill. High five! I would have just called it a day, so kudos for that!

daBrat... I have a question for you... what exactly is eggbeaters? Is it real eggs? If not, it is a natural product, or like a chemistry lab- produced food? I eat A LOT of eggs, but Im making an effort to cut down on cholesterol so I've been throwing out the yokes (well... most of the time). Maybe I should look into this eggbeaters stuff (if it's cholesterol free, that is)

As for MY daily accounting... today was a good day with food. I was crazy hungry all day. Yeah... that's what I get for going on a carb binge, kicking my body out of ketosis. Trying to go back to 20g of carbs per day, and after eating 1,700 calories today, I was STILL hungry all day, EVEN AFTER EATING! Tsk tsk... SMH.

Also, did not exercise today. SMH again.

Tomorrow I'm going to make this recipe I found on Linda's low carb website. Its called Chicken Divan (YUMMM):
    http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/chicken_divan.html
I have all the ingredients (except the xanthan gum). I can't wait.

Still on from the weigh-in yesterday. I called my Mother and told her that I've lost 30lbs since she's last seen me, and her response was "Good. Cause you were really fat the last time I saw you!" It was so funny, the way how she said it, I nearly died with laughter .Then she said "you probably should lose some more. A lot more."

Then we had this discussion where she insisted that my goal-weight should be 125lbs. Apparently that was her weight when she was young and hot, and before the damage was done by me and my brother. I keep telling her that I think 135 is a good, healthy weight for me, but she keeps insisting that I should be 125lbs, and her only justifiable reason is that "I was 125 "when I was your age." I do appreciate her opinion, but this has been a re-occuring argument of hers (ours), and I'm kind of POed that she's imposing her own standards on me when its MY body and I should be the one that determines what is best for it. I feel really bad for ranting about my mother (that's real messed up), but for some reason I feel kind of hurt and frustrated every time we have the "125lbs" conversation.

Anyway, its time to go to bed... if not I wont wake up in time for my work-out (and you all know I need it).

All the best for tomorrow ladies. We're almost there!
  • I still haven't had any caffiene.I haven't got any headaches or anything yet, which I am surprised about.
I have start taking vitamins too.
Hopefully it gets nice soon so I can start walking outside.
I need to do a bunch of housework today so maybe that will keep me away from the food if I keep myself busy.
  • Barb, glad you didn't kill the hubby, and I hope you got the boy settled without too much trouble. I have tried that punching bag thing before. I'm not so good. I got to try a speed bag once, and hit it with my face more than I was able to hit it with my hands. It was a like a bad cartoon, honestly. That does seem like it would be fun, though, if a person could get the rhythm down.

I'm back on the exercise wagon, and my own personal challenge for Feb is to not miss a workout. I think I said that last month, but new month, I get to start over! I'm tweaking the plan to include more crossfit than last month. I'm addicted. Plus, I'm hoping it will kick the fat burn into high gear. Or, at least, 2nd gear. Today, I'm exactly 2 lbs from my V-day goal, so I need at least a pound this week and a pound next week.

Tomorrow I have to take the boy shopping for some clothes. Apparently, these things (kids) grow when you feed 'em. I shoulda got a hamster. After that, we've got a date with the Y. The boy wants to swim, which is why I'm going later to workout, instead of at the crack like I prefer. I've got lower body lifting on the menu for tomorrow, as well as a crossfit workout which I'm saving for after the lifting. Thankfully the crossfit workout is upper body only, pull-ups and dips, so I may survive. Of course, Tuesday, I may be digging through the box of pink barbie dumbbells for my bench press. If you hear a strangled choking noise, come pull the barbell off my neck, k?

BrattySplatty, we don' need no stinking SUNshine, man! We got...we got...like high 30s here, so...yeah, take THAT!

Shauna, you rock! That's almost ten freakin' pounds! Woohoo, congrats on the killer weigh-in! Ima skerred of spin class! Okay, I have a little bike phobia since I tried to take up cycling last year and made it like a quarter mile before I was exhausted! My PR is 2 miles, lol.

Angel, that is so cool that you got the Y membership! What a great surprise! My boy loves the swimming. So, two recommendations for you. If you want muscles you can see, asap, to fill out loose skin and just look gorgeous, I'd recommend googling "Body for Life". It's an upper/lower body split, but you'll see results about week 3, and it's a 3 day a week lifting schedule like you want. There's a book, likely available at your local library, or there's the website, which is almost as good, and it's free. Another book that is good, actually 2 books, "New Rules of Lifting" (the men's version, well worth reading, as it explains things in more detail) or "New Rules of Lifting for Women". Either of those is full body workouts, short but challenging, and you will get stronger fast on that, but it's mostly for strength and functional fitness, so you don't get the showy muscles like you do with the other one. Great for an intro to lifting, though, and definitely worth reading, at least. Oh, one more website, google "exrx exercises" and that will pull up the ExRX website...lots of good info there on which muscles are which, lots of video clips of different exercises, and general info for lifting, which weight machine is which, all kinds of good stuff. There are some great ladies on the weight and resistance training board here at 3FC, too...that board is listed under "exercise" on the 3FC forum index page, toward the bottom.

Oy, I'm going blind, and it's past my bedtime, so Chele, Nicki, and anybody I missed, and I'll catch up with you ladies next time!
  • chele Congratulations on your big girl bed. LOL. Always a fun day!!!! I hear ya on the cusp of ONEderland. I'm the same way. I thought for sure I would be out this weekend but I gues Mr. Bud Light made sure that wouldn't happen. LOL. Oh well the price I pay....

barb Ever get that child to sleep. I hear that. Mine was in bed singing last night. It was cute...but then not so cute. Glad you got to the gym though

sweet Go for what you want to reach for...if anything tell your mom that you will reach for 125...she won't know any differently. lol

jam I think I'll make that my Feb goal as well...not to miss a workout. I only missed two in Jan which is actually awesome...well one actually, I forgot yesterday was the 1st. And the day I missed was because of Mr. Bud Light. Damn him!!!!

Had an awesome day yesterday with my daughter, my boyfriend and my friends. Can't wait until the parade next week!!!! My mom, dad and sister will be able to hang with me this time. They were in the parade yesterday so my daughter got some fun stuff. I LOVE MARDI GRAS!!! All your Northerners don't know what you're missing!!!!!
  • Hi Gang!

Just popping in for a quick howdy...I was never completely successful at getting the wee one to sleep last night so I only got bits and pieces of sleep here and there...that was after staying up talking/fighting with DH until way too late. I'm physically and emotionally drained today.

I did however has a great training session tonight and that certainly helped my spirits a bit.

Sorry to whine and leave....catch ya later!
