Okay Jam, okay. You're on. I am heading out the door to do a baby workout. Now I guess I have to step things up a notch so I can report excitement like that.

I wanted to do legs tonite, but I jacked my knee up on the decline bench press last night. I think my leg was twisted the wrong way. Ow. And then I wore a new pair of shoes today to walk up to pick my son up from school. When I took them off, filled with blood. Ow. It was only a mile.

I'll do... hmmm, triceps and abs. Nice strange mix.

WHOA......hold your kettlebells....what's this about "Girls who do pedicures"??? You know I love me up a good pedicure, but you won't catch me in the girly crap with the words on my butt!

Nicki - Bummer on being sick. Hope you perk up soon! Yay on almost being at goal!

Jam - It's great when you find a good pair of pants!!!

Angel - Great workout!

Hi everyone else!

I'm waiting for DH to get home so I can hit the gym for my cardio workout. I am feeling completely swamped with everything that needs done at home and work...but BAH...I want my cardio! Rumor at my work is major layoffs this week - likely Thursday - so everyone is a bit tense and it's hard to get much done in the office. I don't think I'm in any danger (or so my boss says)...we shall see.

I'll likely pop back later...cya!

FB, bleeding shoes. Clearly they are haunted. Hows your feets? That sounds painful!

That is quite a lot to spend for a metal ball with a handle. What's the deal with that, I wonder? Maybe one of your trainer friends has some sort of business discount, and could order one for you?

Muscledriver has them on sale right now.

Or, here's the poor man's version. As you can guess, this kinda appeals to my MacGyverish side:
http://www.geocities.com/briangl2002/kettlebell.htm

I'm thinking a welder girl like yourself, and a pipe bender, could improve on that design some. However, it wouldn't be MUCH cheaper, unless you already have the plates. I'm thinking TIRE: free, heavy, comes in different weights, prolly won't kill anybody if I let go mid-swing. LOL.

Glad you're going in for the workout. I'll be waiting for a full report.
---

Angel, that's an awesome workout! You ain't messin' around!

Barb, hope you get your cardio in before it gets very late. I am trying to get my workouts in earlier in the day. I did that today, but then tonight I felt like doing a little more running, so I put a new audio book on the stereo, and just ran in the house. I love the audio books for that, because I can just listen to the story, and the time flies. Got in another 30 mins. Could have gone longer, but didn't want to overdo it. Can't have a rest day this month, if I'm gonna keep up with you and the FB on that points challenge.

You guys sound so professional with all your weight lifting. I do my stationary bike, jog and do a circuit workout. I have 1 and 2 pound dumbells (Go ahead and laugh-I dare you!).

Things seem to be slowing down for me and I don't like that one bit but I was just thinking that I was about 50 pounds heavier this time last year so that gives me hope. I'd just like to lose the last 10-15 pounds and start worrying about maintaining.

The news is on so I think I'll hop on my bike and watch while I peddle.

I started doing 10000 steps a day today. If it doen't do anything else it will keep me from being a couch potato.
My boyfriend has decided to start lifting weights so maybe it will be easier for me to stay active if he is too.We do go for walks and ride bikes but right now it is too cold to do that.
Everyone keep up the good work.

Nicki, I've got 2.2 to go. Super clean eats, more water, less tea, killer workouts. That's my plan. Let's do this thing! I just realized, we're almost twins! My birthday is June 26. I'm gonna be 40 this year, though. Although, I kinda like the idea of being fitter at 40 than I was at...well, ever!

Isabella, I don't laugh at anybody's weights. Except BBB, but she's my sister in real life, so it's kinda my job.

Chubs, WTG with the 10,000 steps! That's a good day's work!

Where's the FB?

FB, tell me again what kinda dogs you got? Sorry to hear that you are sick.

Isabella, thanks for the compliment! Sorry about you going blind.

Today was a good day. The boy got up on time (a miracle in itself), he did all his chores and school on time, we played a game, crawled under the van and got the fusible links cut out, took turns reading our current boy adventure novel, did the usual laundry and housework.

Then the boy wanted to get an hour on the computer, so I took my "psycho for pulling" big dog and the scooter to the auto parts store, to see if I could get some fusible link wire (no), and to the grocery to get a gallon of milk. It was a little over 4 miles altogether, it was sunny and cool, and a really enjoyable run.

It is so nice being a runner now, because when I am scootering with a dog and we come to a hill, I can just hop off the rolling scooter and run beside it, keeping pace with the dog. That's much nicer than being out of breath and trying to walk, while the dog says "this is too slow!" and pulls hard the whole time...they can't usually pull the scooter uphill, so it's good if the person can get off and run up the hills. Now I can!

So, that was a good workout, with the running and kicking the scooter, but I feel like I've got more in me, so I'm gonna do some kind of circuit with box jumps, wall ball, and I still don't have a third. Maybe abs, or tire pulls, for total leg torture...? Hmm...

ETA: workout is done. The boy (12 y.o.) and I decided to have a workout battle. After a half-hearted warm-up, we did 5 rounds for time of:
5 wall ball
10 box jumps
15 abs (sit-ups or knees to elbows or whatever)

After 5 rounds, our final times were:
Cheryl 8 min 19 sec
Boy 8 min 26 sec

I actually beat the punk for once! Fun workout! Short and brutal. By the final round, I could only do one sit-up at a time, rest, do another. Ow.

Hi Gang!

FB - Sorry to hear you are sick! Feel better soon! I'm sure the doggies appreciated you taking them for a walk.

Jam - You are always doing something crazy and adventurous. What kind of dog is pulling you on a scooter?

I'm pretty lazy with our 3 dogs...I open the door and send them out into the yard. Then there are days like today when the gate blows open and one of them decides to roam the neighborhood.

I did something goofy to my shoulder. I lifted on Mon, it didn't hurt on Tues, Wed morning is started hurting and got worse during the day. I had a training session yesterday and we pretty much skipped upper body and did a hard lower and abs workout. Today it feels a bit better, not great. I saw my trainer at the gym tonight. He said tomorrow we'll likely give it a little rest but maybe try tris and bis to see how it feels.

Anyway, I'm just rambling. I think I'm going to call it a night.

I hope everyone is having a great night. Talk to you soon!

Barb

Blah. I thought of dear Jammy and Barb, keeping it real in the Points Challenge. Not wanting to disappoint Jammy or Barb, I strapped my heart rate monitor on, got the exercise ball out and did abs/core work and the Wii Fit. For my allotted hour. Then I threw up profusely. Now Imma go enter my 4 in the 100# club monthly points challenge and go to bed.

HOWZA!

Jammy. Dogs you ask? A one eyed chihuahua, a Jack Russell and a stupid (but sweet) Pit Bull mixture.

Your day sounds awesomely wonderful, as do your workouts. Love that you're doing it with the boy. Those are my favorite kinds. The ability to run adds a whole new aspect of freedom to life doesn't it? It almost makes me emotional it's so sweet. Almost.

Retired! Any weights are good weights. I started out with light dumbbells and slooooowly worked my way up. Really and seriously, I don't even notice the weights people lift - I just get all thrilled that other people do it.

Except for Jammy, I compete with her.

Oh hi Barb! You posted while I was.

Be gentle with that shoulder! I pulled mine last week and let it rest for a week. Good to hear you're going to take it easy at your next workout tough girl. Shoulders ain't nothing to mess with. Nuh-uh.

I go berserk when my dogs get out of the gate. They have no street smarts and we live downtown. Scary combo.

How's the kidlet/nighttime thing going?
