good morning. It is eerily quiet around here and I don't like, not even a little bit.

My scale arrived!!!! Strange thing, my downstairs neighbor called me yesterday afternoon and said that they had it. Not sure why it was delivered to them but I guess that's all moot now. The only thing is I can not get the same reading 2x in a row. Which is why I purchased it, because that's what was happening with my old scale. Whatever.

Yesterday I had 2 parties, but stayed on plan in spite of it, or perhaps because of it, I think I'm just not comfortable eating in front of others. There is no way I am going to calculate my calories, because I ate literally 1 or 2 bites of a bunch of different foods. I had one tiny mushroom ravioli, 2 bites of veggies with yellow rice, 3 pieces of cucumber sushi of which I scrapped off most of the rice. I did have a decent sized piece of salmon, which appeared to be baked without oil, I hope. And then for desssert I had 2 bites of a marzipan covered vanilla cream cake. It was soooo sweet it gave me an instant headache. That was party number 2, party number one had different foods, but similiar amounts. So I'm just not bothering to count. I am very, very sure that I stayed under 1300 calories for the day.

I would just like to wish everybody here a simply wonderful, marvelous and fantastic Christmas!!!

Thank you!

And I'm so delighted to see your progress. You're doing a V-Day challenge? I'm aiming for the ones by then, but there's just no way I can get there. Still, big dreams lead to big results!

Julie - I was inspired by the Valentine's Day thread. I'm not officially part of their challenge, since I'm only starting now...but I feel I can do it. I'm only starting on my weight loss journey from this high point, so in theory it should be easy to lose the first 10. It's all the pounds after that, that I'm worried about!

Bobbi - I found a multi-vitamin that has vitamin K and selenium, 2 things I was always low on, according to fitday. Then I realized - they don't let you enter those 2 things into a custom food!!! How ridiculous. Why tell me I'm low on it and then not let me add it? I wrote to their "feedback" just for the heck of it. It's a free service so I can't whine too much I guess.

Ha! You'd mop the floor with me!

I didn't realize how much meeting this goal meant to me until I did it. I felt so relieved, like I proved something to myself.

Now on to the next challenge!

SmartButt..........Oh yes you are part of the Valentine's challenge, it doesn't matter when you start and you don't have to go for 10 pounds. Put down what you think you can achieve and go for it!

Bobbolink - you've been investigating all of us! LOL I sometimes forget how much of our lives we put out there on these message boards. Yes, my first time doing the C25K running program I hurt my knee. I originally started out running outside on a grassy uneven surface. This is what caused the knee injury which lasted quite some time. I bought myself a treadmill since then and hope to have no such problems. I hope......

I signed up for the Disney 5k run on May 5, 2007. Apparently if you cannot run a 15 minute mile, they will have a vehicle following that will pick you up. If this happens, you don't finish or get your finisher medal. I want one of those medals!

day 122 = 1385
day 123 = 1585
day 124 = 1695

I had to do a copy/paste on this message, I posted it bymistake in the Valentine's challenge.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
I'm sure this thread is going to be slow today. I survived my large Family Christmas party yesterday afternoon. I only ate 1 rolleposte open face sandwich, some fruit salad and a bite of pineapple bar. I actually had calories left when going to bed last night. I didn't get my olive oil in so I drank 1 Tablespoon of it, that put me over by 62 calories.

Sunday: Breakfast menu/Fiber One (I didn't eat my usual breakfast, wanted to save the calories for the party)
Calories...1,262
Calories burned...2,149 (I doubt that since I sat around all afternoon visiting)
Fat...29%
Activity...None, I only exercise 6 days a week, Sunday is a exercise free day.

Saturdays Journal:
Fiber One @ 4:15 a.m.

Bologna Sandwich @ 8:30 a.m.
Turkey bologna...25 calories.
12 grain lt. bread...80 cal.
FF Miracle Whip...15 cal.
lots of lettuce...5 cal.
Total breakfast 181 calories

Total for day...1,109
Calories burned...2,225
Activity...15 min. on Ski Machine
Fat...20%

Down 1/2 pound this morning.
We have our immediate Christmas party today @ 11 a.m. (daughter, 2 grandsons, MIL, DH and myself.) Finally we get to open presents. I don't know if I'll make good food choices today, we're having all hors d'oeuvres, BQ mealballs, cheese dips, crackers, all my favorite salty foods. I can pass sweets up anyday, but look out when you roll in the Buffalo wings! Oh! I'm making myself hungary!

Have a fun day...Bobbi
Bobbi
P.S. Are we posting our Lunches this week? We'll have to start tomorrow since everyone is eating crazy today.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Today I am taking the day off from counting calories (first time in four months) and eating what I want. Luckily it is storming here and most stores are closed. I didn't plan on not counting calories today, so I didn't go out and buy all kinds of no-no foods. But there are garlic mashed potatoes, brown & serve rolls, and chocolate chip cookies - all calling my name.

Me too, I've been faithfully counting, measuring and weighing all my foods today. It felt good to get back into the routine.
Catch ya all tomorrow, I'm pooped and going to bed.
P.S. No weight gain from two days of parties. Stayed the same!
