Thanks for all the gym advice and I will definitely look into it further, I'll let you know. Thanks again.

OnePerDecade WTG on the weightloss, you must be ECSTATIC. But It does sound like you have more than your share of stress. Your son deploying - I'm a little (a lot) ignorant - does that mean he's in the armed forces and will be sent overseas somewhere? Because umm yeah I could see where you would somewhat stressed to say the least. But you handled it so well!!!! And for sure there is nothing like a little humor. Good luck with your son being away.

As for me I also had a pretty good day:

Calories eaten: about 1100

Exercise: Well my INTENTIONS were good, but you all know the gym story.
So I didn't do any INTENTIONAL exercise, except for sit-uos. But I did walk around enough outside to get a sunburn on my face - and it was 30 degrees out yesterday, so I guess that's something. My face is really burnt, ouch.

I lost 2.2 pounds this week. Yahoooo!! finally got back into the 170's. I hope I have the combination finally right on diet and exercise. I've changed some of my habits for instance oatmeal with 1/2 apple, 1/2 orange, and lite sausage instead of egg, bread, and lite sausage for breakfast. It seems to be working. I am also exercises a bit longer. I stop eating just before I am full, but satisfied and wait two and a half hours before I eat again and I drink water throughout the day. Well will see next week for sure.

Hi, I'm new to calorie counting. I was on the south beach plan before. It just wasn't working for me. I'm not ready to let go of all my processed foods and "bad" carbs. I do, however, try to limit my processed carbs and eat healthy fats. I just couldn't take the pressure of a formal plan.

Calorie wise, I am trying to stick between 1200 and 1400. I also want to exercise 30-60 minutes per day. I have been going (this time) for a week (very shake for a week) and lost 4 pounds so far. I've been losing weight on and off since I had my son. He's 16 months old. I gained way too much weight during my pregnancy with him and took the weight loss slow because I was nursing him. Now I want to get to a healthy weight before we get pregnant again. I want a healthy comfortable pregnancy and faster return to pre-pregnancy weight at the end. I did the overweight pregnancy. I didn't like my clothes, it was hard on my body.

Finally, my mother has been seriously sick on and off for the last two years. She started off with warnings from her doctor to change her lifestyle, but she decided that things were too hard and returned to her previous eating habits and sedentary lifestyle. Now she has heart problems, complications from diabetes, and other problems from lack of exercise and poor eating. I just don't want to put my kids through that kind of worry and I want to teach them how to be healthy too.

OnePerDec. I feel your pain on the hair pulling. My 16mo has started pulling hair. Ouch! I can't figure out how to get him to stop so I am trying to wait for him to outgrow the phase. If you figure something out, PLEASE let me know. Anytime I get within a foot of him, he immediately has two handfuls of hair. Even when it's in a ponytail.

Calories yesterday 1396
No exercise, but I'll get there.

Hi ladies!

I just wanted to check in and say hello. I'm happy to say that since returning to my very-low-calorie plan, I've lost 10 of the 12 pounds that I'd regained. I'm VERY happy with this way of eating, and feel great.

I'd really love to be in the 130's by New Year. I haven't seen those numbers in so long I don't even remember it!

Great job on the losses everyone!

I haven't exercised all week because I have an ear infection and have no energy at all.

Wednesday: 1663 calories, 685 deficit

Hi all, both the regulars and the newbies!

I got on the scale today, just two days after the last not so great weight loss. I increased my calorie consumption over the last two days and today the scale showed another drop of 1.2 lbs. I guess its true that you got to eat!!!

callystia - you sure dropped those 10 lbs quickly. I am glad you are happy with your weight loss.

Take care of yourself Valerie Joy!

ebb&flow I am very sorry to hear about your mom. I sure hope things will take an upturn soon. That is so scary. What a great example you are setting for your kids. I really think we are so much more knowledgable about fitness and health then our parents were. There's just so much more talk of it today then there was in the past. Hopefully our children will have even more knowledge.

Ear infections - yuck, yuck, yuck. I hope the antibiotics kick in real soon.

Cally, first of all hi, good to see you around. That is quite the weightloss, I just hope you're not going too low. Make sure you take care of yourself. But I am real glad that you're feeling so well.

Webweevil - great going on the scale movement.

loveandlaugh - phenomennal!!! Sounds like you've found a good combination for yourself.

Yesterday's calories - about 1100
Yesterday's exercise - 45 mins.

Have a great day everybody.

Rockinrobin -- Yes, my son is military -- he is a Marine and is in Iraq now. His specialty is nuclear & biochemical warfare so the good news is that he is at headquarters most of the time & not out patrolling the streets of Fallujah. That's what I keep reminding myself Thanks for asking & for the support...I definitely need it!!!

Calories the last few days have been on track -- I haven't made it to the gym but I have done some power walks - not great but not awful...and I've lost weight, without feeling deprived or starving!!!!!

Hello Everyone!!
I am new to the board..But I did start Calorie Counting a couple of weeks ago and was doing really good, until my office moved. But I am ready to do it again. I am looking to get down to 125 lbs by August 1, 2007. Heck if I am below 150 at that time I will be happy. So I will start checking in tomorrow with my Calorie Counts. Not sure how well I will do on my output of calories but I will try. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!!

I forgot to enter yesterday's calories. 1872.

Last night I didn't use the treadmill for the first time since we had it. I missed it! I used it today, though.

Calories for the day -- 1314 in, 2974 out. I'll call that 3000 since I still have a few things to do around the house now that the baby is asleep.
On the UPside, I am only one pound away from a NORMAL BMI....I am so excited I can't stand it!!!!!!
