Welcome, SmartButt!

Up above, I was moaning about the past few days and then said that the rest of the week would be better. Um, Julie, you idiot, you forgot to plan for your own wedding anniversary!

Our 9th anniversary is today. I don't even know what to say I have planned. I can be so dense!

So, the Christmas and anniversary season is still kicking my butt!

Default My small accomplishment

I've decided to walk on my breaks at work, since evenings have been too hectic to get to the gym. So, I took two 15-20 minute walks today, even though it was in the 30s-40s out.

I did well at breakfast AND lunch... in preparation for a party after work that was going to involve mass amounts of mexican food and margaritas (my favorite drink).

I'm proud to say, I was able to pass up on the margaritas. I did have a couple handfuls of tortilla chips which I hadn't planned, but instead of some big gooey cheesy burrito, I got a taco salad, and didn't eat the cheese or the tortilla bowl it came in. I was able to keep my caloric intake for the day (according to fitday) under 1800 even with a party.

I actually had some willpower today! yay me!

Had an unexpected run in with a pan of baked ziti, it's one of my daughter's favorites and she's home from college so I made if for her. I never got around to buying fish so I picked at the ziti and then gave in and took a small plateful. And then picked from the pan some more. I did not like that out of control feeling I had while eating it. I have no idea how much I actually ate of the stuff.

So Wednesday calories are a guess - about 1550 with too many carbs, not enough protein .

Gah. Well, I got through my anniversary without actually gaining any weight, but I deserved to pack on about 10 pounds. We went to Olive Garden.

Okay, there's a tiny bright side. I didn't eat dessert.

I can't even get an accurate guess as to the calories, though I bet it's at least twice what I need.

Christmas is almost here. That's a Good Thing.

Default Wednesday journal & Thoughts

Good Thursday Morning to everyone, it's raining here in Minnesota and the prediction is snow tonight when the temps drop. Yipee, I love snow. DH and I love to cross country ski and snow has been pretty sparse for the last couple of years.
Yesterday's journal:
Calories in..... 1157
Calories burned.....2282
Weight -/+/Same...Dropped another 1/2 pound
Activity...I'm up to 14 minutes on the Ski Machine, I only burned 6 more calories doing 13 minutes but I'll take what I can get.
My fat intake improved after going cold turkey on the Ice Cream, it was only 16% and that was all good fat.(Olive Oil)
Robin...looks like you and I are the only ones interested in posting our breakfast, lunch, or dinner. And what is ziti? I'll post my breakfast yesterday and you can post yours. Anyone else is welcome to join in along with your calories intake/calories burned, etc.
SmartButt... cute name, are you in real life? You have a great motivator with your wedding coming up and walking on breaks is a fantastic idea.
L&Lalways...I eat light on days after indulging too, plus I've heard from the people that do "Wendy's Diet" that it shakes thing up a bit.
Julie...Happy belated 9th anniversary. I see you had a good time.
Valerie...What did you do to your back that you went to the chiropractor?
Webweevil...Good stats yesterday.
I eat strange things at breakfast just to break up the boredom, plus I always eat two breakfasts. I'm an early riser, anywhere between 4:00 to 5:00 a.m.
(My internal alarm clock wakes me & I can't get back to sleep so I get up and read)
Fiber One...56 calories, I eat it dry like popcorn. (early)

2 slices light 12 Grain toast...80 cal.
2 slices FF smoked Turkey breast...40 cal.
Lots of lettuce...9 cal.
Spicy Southwest mustart...10 cal.
Applesauce...49 cal.
FF Cottage cheese...40 cal.
Total 284 calories
Time for me to get my pimpy exercise in, see ya.........Bobbi

Okay Baked Ziti is a pasta dish. You cook up ziti, which is a shape of pasta, long and tubular. You drain the pasta, put it in a baking dish and add marinara sauce and some shredded mozzerella. I used mozzerella and cheddar cheeses. You then bake it until it get all bubbly and a little crusty.

As far as my breakfasts go they're pretty boring and almost always the same.

I had 1/2 cup Kashi go lean cereal mixed 1/2 cup quaker essentials crunchy corn bran cereal with 1/2 cup skim milk. That's what I have basically everyday. I just vary which cereal I eat, today I was adventurous and I mixed them together. I like starting the day off with carbs, protein and fiber. I find it VERY filling and satisfying and about 200 calories. I usually have a snack at about 11:30 which is either a 60 calorie non-fat yogurt or a 60 calorie jello pudding. I just bought some fat free cool whip, I will try that with the pudding.

You breakfasts do sound interesting, perhaps I will give it a try one of these days. And cross-country skiing that does sound adventurous. Kinda cool.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Eiluj!!!

Thank you for the anniversary wishes! It was lovely.

My breakfast this morning was a 2-egg omelette with 1 oz of feta cheese, plus a glass of milk.

Your very welcome, I'm glad it was lovely, that's how they should be.

You find that breakfast fills you? I just wouldn't find it filling enough. I really need some carbs in the morning.

I have to avoid most carbs in the morning or I'll be ravenous really quickly. I just seem to be pretty sensitive to carbohydrates when it comes to getting hungry. If I stick to the ones in veggies, I do fine. But when I start adding grains in, the hunger can get out of control.

Yes, I'm weird.

rockinrobin -

I remember my first week living in Boston, and the friend I was staying with said he was having "ziti" for dinner, and looked at me as if I was an alien when I said I had no idea what ziti was.

Out here in CA, we just say "penne pasta".

But, now since I moved back to CA, I call it ziti sometimes and it throws people off. hehe

Default Thursday's Journal

Calories...1,011 (Short again I know, I ate a sloppy joe on a bun and a glass of skim milk before going to bed to get my calories up)
Calories burned...2,278
Fat...9% I'm beginning to love Fitday. I checked out my fat % this week, from the 17th thru today. It was normal everyday except for the 17th, 67%, Yikes and the 19th at 61%. The culprit both days was Sugar Free Blue Bunny Ice Cream. I've never paid much attentions to fat % before, I guess Fitday post them for a reason. Does anyone else watch their fat % when using Fitday?
Thursday's Breakfast Menu:
4:15 a.m Fiber One...56 Cal.

9:30 a.m....Toasted Bacon/Cheese/Egg sandwich
2 slices toast (12 Grain light)-80
2 slices Turkey Bacon-40
1 slice Cheddar FF Cheese-30
1 Egg White-16
Catsup-10
Total calories 232
Julie... DH and I love Feta cheese, especially on Salads. I was so happy when they came out with the reduced Fat version.
SmartButt... I'm a country hick, probably why I don't know what ziti is. I just looked a recipe up for it, sounds delicious. Does anyone have a low calorie recipe for the sauce? I have used the penne pasta before but never with marinara sauce!
Valerie Joy...What did you do to your back?
Webweevil...Good calories, what does Day 122 stand for. The length of time on your diet, or are you in another thread doing a challenge?
One last question for those of you that use Fitday, What % of protein, fat, carbs, etc. should we be getting. I know it shows how much we're consuming but I'd like to know what is a healthy guideline to use.

Later..........Bobbi
