Well, I didn't have time to weigh in at all on Saturday, so after one full week of the first week of stabilization, I weighed in today.

And I'm down 3.5lbs! :D

And that was even after having had some of that yummy Indian food Friday night, in addition to the starches I've had added into lunches during the week. Granted, I was EXTREMELY active during the weekend--did my regular workouts AND lots of cleaning, packing, and moving things--but still! 3.5 lbs! :D

So, my goal is 195, and I'm .5 lb away from it (the center actually put my goal at 191, but I don't care if I make it to that right now--I'm just happy to be pretty much at MY goal!).

This week I continue my every-other-day starch addition at lunch, and add fruit at breakfast on the opposite days. I'm hoping that I will continue to at least maintain--no gain! :)

My stabilization party is on Monday the 23rd. I'll have to miss yoga that day for the party, but it'll be totally worth it to see my "after" pictures that they take that day!

I will have to post new pics very soon!

Everyday, I go in and type in my stuff, add notes and comments about my day. Tally my weigh in's and at the bottom keep track of the weight I've lost that week and total weight lost. The ladies at the center LOVE this and I'm actually sending them a file so they can give to clients if they wish to keep an electronic diary vs. those paper sheets that they print out. The document is set up for 1 page printing and I make it fun. So I will add shapes and things to it to bring out certain days - like a smiley face when I have accomplished things or just had an awesome out of the ordinary day.

I think this can work for just about anyone. I was able to drop my morning snack, so I just have that column hidden and when it's time for me to drop my afternoon snack, I will hide that column. I keep track of all my supplements and water intake and once you get it started, it's not that hard to copy the spreadsheet and keep a new week.

When I go for a weigh in, I just print it out and take it with me. Of course, I'm a little TOO organized sometimes... so I have all my weeks in sheet protectors in a 3 ring binder :o

Anyway, if you would like a copy of it, just let me know and I will email it to you.

I would love a copy! That sounds like a really neat and fun way to keep track of everything. email: grimes(dot)kristen(at)gmail(dot)com. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions! I think sometimes we forget about those things. I did try the swings today, but made myself dizzy! Sheesh... this coming from the girl who LOVED LOVED roller coasters! Can't do them anymore!

Yes I'm on day 18 and am on MetaSlim I also can have 2 servings of beef a week but i also really miss porkloin...hard to make the choice between the two! haha

I'm sure each center could set up a laptop in their classroom with a webcam & mic... just a thought. Sorry--I'm kind of a techie, and I work pretty closely with the e-Learning supervisor in my district. ;)

Anyway, I weighed myself at the gym tonight after yoga, and that scale showed me at 196. It's usually pretty close to the one at the center, so I'm really excited about that.

Stabilization seems to be going really well right now. It certainly makes me feel a little less deprived. I'm excited to start week 2 tomorrow. I have an appointment to weigh in and meet with my consultant tomorrow afternoon. Last week she didn't have time to go over all the paperwork with me, so she went ahead and started me on the first week and told me we'd go over everything next week (tomorrow, lol).

Here's to an OP week, all! :)

I'm very techinically challenged but that sounds like a good idea!

stall

I know they say you can stall around two weeks, but what about around weeks 3-4...? Seems like it is happening now for me?

Yes, I think that's actually when I stalled. Just push through it, and don't use it as an excuse to feel sorry for yourself and go off plan. Your body will come around.

This is actually when I stalled - for about 4 weeks. I just lost 3lbs the other week but gained 1 back this week. They are thinking I might need to change menus early. Will find out once I make it in to WI this week.

Just keep up the water!! I can tell this is part of my problem because I only got the minimum in the past 3 days and I'm starting off heavier each morning. I am trying to stay focused at work - hard to do when I have to remind myself to drink water every 10 minutes.

OMG your sheet looks almost EXACTLY like MINE!!!! I am glad to know that I am not the only one taking this to the next level LMAO!!!! At first I thought I was being really anal, but the ladies at my center really loved this and my meal planner (also in Excel). They even called me out at a meeting & some of the ladies wanted to know how I got my menu to export into a grocery list. I love the little tally at the bottom - I did mine on a totally different sheet so I can track how much I lose each week and my average weekly loss to date.

Awesome job!

Razorbackbritt 05-18-2011 11:21 AM

So last night I taught my first, whole hour-long Zumba class that I was paid for! It was soooo fun! And I got a weight-loss slap in the face. Some days, I feel skinny, but some days (especially lately when I was "off the wagon") I still feel like I have soooo far to go and still feel so fat.

Last night after class, a lady came up to me and said, "So if I zumba, will I have a body like yours?" I wanted to cry and hug her! Such a great feeling!

I am SO in it to pull off these last 20 pounds! I know I keep saying that, but I am really feeling great.

*Teacherlady* CONGRATS on stabilization and continued loss! I haven't been on here regularly and missed that you stabilized. I can't wait for that!

teacherlady, I'm so excited for you! How nice to know all that trepidation can ease up.

Dolly 05-18-2011 12:12 PM

britt, lol, I know what you mean. Yesterday I felt like a skinny person and even carried myself daintly around the house and to the grocery like I was some delicate waif!

Other days, I don't see or feel it at all.

*Teacherlady* CONGRATS on stabilization and continued loss! I haven't been on here regularly and missed that you stabilized. I can't wait for that!

THanks, Britt!

I've been kinda weepy lately (I'm wondering if I'm a little more emotional now that I'm off my prozac--not in a bad way, just seem to have things affect me a little more than I was used to for the last 10 years), so I actually did start to get all teary when I read what that woman said to you.

Isn't it weird and amazing to have people looking up to us for our fitness and weightloss??? There's a few women in the office down the hall that just started trying to lose weight a few weeks ago--and they told me that I was their inspiration. Another woman in my office joined my gym and is hoping to be able to work out at the gym the same days I do, just because seeing me "working so hard and achieving your goals will hopefully motivate me and remind me that I can do it, too."

People in my building also frequently greet me with "Hi skinny! How are you today?" Even some of the men are saying that (and most men don't usually comment on colleagues' weight loss)!

I love it, I won't lie--but it's just so weird to me. I mean, I'm not even down to my ideal weight yet. I've just decided to stabilize at this point so I can start trying to start a family. So it's not like I'm "skinny"--I still have plenty of meat on my bones. The other reason it kinda weirds me out is because it makes me start to wonder, just how bad did I look before? I mean, I dressed nicely, but 6 months ago I must have not just looked fat, but unhealthy, tired, and unhappy, too.

Anyway, keep riding that "high" and stay OP! You can do it, and you deserve to be happy with how you look!

struggling Nicole 05-18-2011 09:48 PM

Sorry I have been so absent lately, these last two weeks of school are kicking my butt. No more subbing for quite some time!!!
I was just wondering what the center had some of you do to get back on track. I went back to my first menu and did the 4 days of it again and just am not sure whether to go to the blue menu for days 5-10 or go back to green. Any advice?

pnvomaha 05-18-2011 10:28 PM

Weighed in today and am down another pound... total 44. These last few weeks have been so slow so I did ask about MetaQuick. The lady I got today wasn't too pleased about it because she thinks I'll just see a quick gain right afterwards. What are your thoughts? Have you tried it? Let me know. Thanks!

I've tried it. Sometimes I lose with it, sometimes I don't. I will say that I never gained after doing it, though.

It's worth a try. If it doesn't work or makes you gain, then don't do it again.

I actually did it a few times and just never told my center and wasn't truthful on my food diary when I did it (I know--my pants are on fire). I had mentioned it to them once after I heard about it on this board, and they were totally against it. I, however, was tired of being in such a long stall, and was willing to try anything. I never did it more than 2 or 3 days at a time, though, and I know I never used the full 7 days in a month. Usually just a short version of metaquick was enough to jump-start me.

My center pretty much had me do what you are doing. Start back at the beginning. Sometimes I wouldn't finish out the blue menu and just jump on back to the green if I felt I was in the right mindset to handle it. If you feel like mentally you can stay on track, then go for the green. If you're still struggling a bit, my advice would be to do the full 10 days. Hang in there.

I have done the full 7 days a few times and manage to lose around 5 pounds each time (everyone is different, so I'm not saying this will happen to you). However, I stayed completely OP afterwards and managed to keep the weight off and keep on losing. I never gained back. As teacherlady said, I find it helps to break me out of plateaus.

jmgirl 05-19-2011 08:47 AM

scale difference

So last week at my weigh in the scale at Curves and the one I use for MRC weigh in were EXACTLY the same...This week the one at MRC showed a .6# loss and the one at Curves showed a 2# loss...super confused how can they be THAT different from the week before?? All in all...was mad about my weigh in and premenstrual so last night fell off the wagon and had two Bud Select 55 beers and some peanuts....Guess it coulda been worse huh? lol
