I was beginning to wonder, lol! So great that you're feeling better.

Britt, you're so right about this board being a second check for us.

Hope you like the new center.

Hi all,

Congrats to the losers and those who made good choices in hard stituations.

This weekend was hard and busy . . . foodwise I did okay but did not drink enough water and despite drinking tons of water today I am still somewhat dehydrated and bloated (if that makes since).

We were really busy this weekend and messed up the timing of my meals, water consumption, I did not drink any fiber drinks, did not exercise and did not get enough sleep so I'm not sure what the scale is going to say but if I gain I know it is only water and I know how to prevent this in the future.

I am learning so much about myself - the main problem this weekend was I fell back into the trap of caring for everyone else and not taking any time to take care of me and now I am tired and grouchy - I think my family would have preferred I take the time to drink my water and eat when I was supposed to so that I have the energy I need to enjoy time with them rather than spending today exhausted and grumpy.

Sorry you had a rough weekend. But happy to hear, you're back on track! You're SO close to that 30lb board!

Rzrbackcandi 05-16-2011 08:44 PM

Well, I didn't lose 10lbs this weekend.. darn it! HA! But I did lose .5! I'll take it. And that PiYo class kicked my butt tonight. I missed the last 2 classes because of the craft fair.. so I was so out of shape. Plus she was going a lot faster with the movements. But it felt good!

Only 6lbs away from the 40lb board! If I don't really mess up in Chicago.. I hope to get that next week!

jmgirl 05-16-2011 09:28 PM

Yes Patzi, it is in the cookbook and even my fiance said it tastes like real cheesecake...lol

weigh in looming

Well, it's been a good week since my last weigh in "i think"! lol I weigh in on Wednesday and I am down 1.6 since last weigh in (on my scale) theirs is usually 1 lb. less!! lol I think this is splendid since it's almost TTOM! Usually a 3-5 lb weight gain with that!! Maybe not now since not a lot of sodium and caffeine in my body! I truly wish there were classes offered where I'm at, but I am kinda doin the distance thing and only weigh in once a week!! But it's okay..I weigh in every Wednesday and it doesn't seem like lbs come off until Sunday later in the day!! Have a fabulous week everyone...Tonight I had Chili Rubbed Tilapia and Asparagus out of cookbook...it was great but I did use Cod!:D

I hope you feel better soon. I have four dental procedures last year and was miserable (plus $4,0000 poorer).

It's important to take your antibiotics so infections doesn't spread to your heart or brain. I've seen both happen a couple of times.

Do you not have adequate pain medicine? I would ask for it if I were you. Pain can color your whole attitude and cause you to make bad decisions because you just don't care.

I had a terrible day Thursday. I went sssssoooooooo off plan. I ate 1500 calories, didn't exercise, and while what I ate what on plan--I really abused it.
For example I ate two hamburgers at lunch, two chicken breasts for dinner, three replacement bars and 4 HNS. I was so ravenous. I had just lost 3.6 lbs from my WI the day before and I didn't conciously think, "Oh now I can cheat," but I could not sleep until my stomach had that bloated feeling it used to have before I started MRC.

It was very odd. It was like my undisciplined, pre-diet personality took over and I had never heard of MRC.

But I've been OP since and feel so icky after missing exercise that day that I can't see myself slipping for a while. Luckily, I lost the taste for carbs or it could have been worse. I'm just sorry I probably stopped my losing streak.

Took a bunch of pics today for my son's prom and I wonder how I look in them. Still wearing baggy clothes but I hope to see a different woman. Usually I avoid having my picture taken but I was right up there with my son and his date smiling at the camera. A NSV for me.

Hope everyone has a great night and great tomorrow.

So Sorry dental work is a nightmare sometimes! By the way you are so lucky...I never even liked burgers before but I would die to have one now..what plan are you on?? My fiance raises Omega 3 all natural beef, would love to eat a burger!:dizzy:

teacherlady79 05-16-2011 09:59 PM

Hmmm. For those of you who are doing MRC from a distance, I wonder if it would work to "skype" into the classes. All you need is a computer, webcam with mic, and internet. I'm sure each center could set up a laptop in their classroom with a webcam & mic... just a thought. Sorry--I'm kind of a techie, and I work pretty closely with the e-Learning supervisor in my district. ;)

Anyway, I weighed myself at the gym tonight after yoga, and that scale showed me at 196. It's usually pretty close to the one at the center, so I'm really excited about that.

Stabilization seems to be going really well right now. It certainly makes me feel a little less deprived. I'm excited to start week 2 tomorrow. I have an appointment to weigh in and meet with my consultant tomorrow afternoon. Last week she didn't have time to go over all the paperwork with me, so she went ahead and started me on the first week and told me we'd go over everything next week (tomorrow, lol).

Here's to an OP week, all! :)

Don't weigh after working out! I was told your muscles expand and fill with water while you're working out so right after is not accurate. Always do it before.

Well, I have to say I was craving steak tonight so I went to Texas Roadhouse. Of course, it was so hard to resist the beautiful looking bread and yes, it was yummy. After that, I had to get wings and then... yeah, it spiraled so I had to come home and fix it as much as possible. My daughter really wanted to go to the playground, but that would be no work out for me so I convinced her to stay home, and I mowed. Let me tell you... I have not mowed since my teen years living with my parents... 15 years or so? Well, it took me a good 2 hours because it kept dying on me and needless to say, I am glad I didn't just come home and sit on my butt. I've also been trying to drink more water.

My next weigh in will be Wednesday evening... aside from tonight, I've been OP and working out every other day so far. I pray it shows!

Welcome!
THe first couple weeks are the worst as far as cravings and feeling hungry go. Just remember, it's only for a little while--it does get better! Don't give up!

Also, it is normal to have your weightloss stall right around 2 weeks into it--this is totally normal, as your body is adjusting to what's happening. Don't let it bring you down! It will pass, I promise!

You will find wonderful support and advice here. I would have given up by the end of December if it weren't for the ladies on this board! Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Good luck!

Welcome! Buy the cookbook! There are a lot of good recipes in there and after about 1-2 weeks on the plan you start wanting something different. When you start on the HNS-buy some concentrates/gels. They are wonderful over shaved ice and save me when I have cravings and need a "treat".

Ok, for real this time. I'm back, and I'm determined.

I had graduation weekend (and was given cakes and cookies from friends and family, and shots while eating out)...let's say it was not MRC approved.

But now that my schedule is a bit normal, I'm totally back on track. I had to switch centers now that I've moved...but it should be ok. I think the change of pace and centers will help me stay on track too, as I won't have those "old faithful friends" at my old center who let me get away with excuses.

I will be checking in daily to stay on track. It is amazing that when I didn't check here when I came online (or didn't have time to be online) that it was so much easier to stray because I had no accountability. Thanks for being there!

Glad your back! You deserved a celebration after graduating!! Now you just have to make sure you get back focused on losing weight. Hope things go well at your new center.

I've been totally swamped and MIA - but I hope you all are having a great week on program!

My summary: only went in once last week and gained a 1lb, not sure what the course is next, but I guess I'll find out when I weigh in this week. Also was able to get that Super Chocolate and make a brownie the other day it was super good!!!! Can't believe I can have that for my fruit!

Here's to having a better week this week.

PiYo is Pilates & Yoga combined. So a mix in the movements and more fluent then just yogo poses. It's a really great work out! A trainer comes in from our local World's Gym and teaches the class on Monday evenings & some Saturdays.

I actually asked and they said they will measure whenever I want them to.. but my weight loss has been an average of 4lbs each week, so I'm holding out on the measurements. They usually measure on day 15, day 30 and then every 30 days after that. I can't wait to add a longer ribbon to my wall! :-)

Actually, if the playground has a swing set - that's awesome exercise for your abs & legs! I learned this from the Stay Active class at the center. Swining, jump rope, play hopscotch, hula-hoop, jump on a trampoline, play dodgeball... all great exercises and family fun. Nothing wrong with being a big kid :)

patzi 05-17-2011 11:14 AM

Hi...
I weighed in and lost 2 pounds, making me 4.9 pounds under goal. Am I delighted with this.. They did the Tanita and it was all good, everything less, and lean mass good& improved. So, they are happy with me there.

This week I will experiment with fat. Last time I added fat, gained.. Will not do peanut butter, though.. I do take the amt. of olive oil I can have daily.

The crisp and crunch cinnamon bar is now included in the 5 for $55.00. I bought them, as I like them, along with 4 other products, HNS , variation bars, etc. Previously these cinnamon bars were more money.

I was told those small pita pockets, I can have one as they are very small and that would equal my 1/2 pita on my starch stabilization list .. I can fit quite a bit in there. LOL.

Our stabilization party is on Wed. May 25th, and can't make it. I have a dental appointment to do more work on root canal that morning& I have to get back to work. Many who work cannot make it on a Wednesday. They also moved it to another location, vs. the location I go to. Everyone was hoping they would do an evening, as they are open or a Sat.

I will report weigh in on Friday and let everyone know what new items I added from Tuesday to Friday.

Have a great day and wishing everyone a great weigh in.
Patzi

Razorbackbritt 05-17-2011 11:21 AM

So I really should go weigh in today. I usually go on T TH...but my husband dropped me off at work and I'm stranded here until 6 when he picks me up...then I'm going to teach Zumba. So I guess a weigh in isn't in my plan for today.

I do have a delicious OP lunch packed! And dinner is already cooked and in the fridge ready to be eaten! I'm SO back on track!

These are my two biggest pieces of advice:

1. Trust the program!!! It does work! If you work the program the way it is designed, you will lose weight. If you start deviating with their menu or looking for excuses to cheat, it will backfire. I've heard from my counselors, and I've seen others on here post it too, that it takes 3 days to flush the "crap" out of your system when you deviate. It can slow down your weight loss and cost you money (more HNS, supplements, time to reach your goal, etc.).

2. Plan ahead. This comes with most everything involved. Plan ahead with your HNS, water, supplements, and especially meals. This is what can cause a lot of us to trip up (see step 1). It is bound to happen now and then, but if you can set aside some time each week and get a game plan in place, it will make things a lot easier.

Good luck with your journey! :goodluck:

If you can't weigh in today, that just means an even better weight loss the next time you can. ;)

This might help.. or might not..

1 Attachment(s)
I hope I'm attaching this right.. Anyway, not sure if this will work for you or not. But I sit in front of a computer all day and I work with Excel quite a bit. When I first started the program, I created a basic food sheet for myself and it has grown.

Everyday, I go in and type in my stuff, add notes and comments about my day. Tally my weigh in's and at the bottom keep track of the weight I've lost that week and total weight lost. The ladies at the center LOVE this and I'm actually sending them a file so they can give to clients if they wish to keep an electronic diary vs. those paper sheets that they print out. The document is set up for 1 page printing and I make it fun. So I will add shapes and things to it to bring out certain days - like a smiley face when I have accomplished things or just had an awesome out of the ordinary day.

I think this can work for just about anyone. I was able to drop my morning snack, so I just have that column hidden and when it's time for me to drop my afternoon snack, I will hide that column. I keep track of all my supplements and water intake and once you get it started, it's not that hard to copy the spreadsheet and keep a new week.

When I go for a weigh in, I just print it out and take it with me. Of course, I'm a little TOO organized sometimes... so I have all my weeks in sheet protectors in a 3 ring binder :o

Anyway, if you would like a copy of it, just let me know and I will email it to you.

Any loss is a good thing! I'm sure you will do great on your trip. It sounds like you have some good plans in place and are preparing to do well . . . so enjoy yourself. Also, your spreadsheet looks wonderful. . . I actuaully track everything at Sparkpeople.com as well as the food sheets I use for the center. P.S. I have every sheet of paper I have received from the center in a binder along with a sheet that lists out what I will weigh on each day if I lose 2 lbs/wk, 3 lbs/wk and 4 lbs/week. . . I like to see the posibilities.

I'm sure you will be signing the 40 lb board soon and I love your profile picture! I plan on having an "in progress picture" taken at the 30 lb mark because I have great difficulty seeing the changes. Hopefully that will be this week.

Congrats on your decicision to do something about your weight. As for advice - the plan works! Repeat this to yourself over and over. . . I promise if you stay on plan and get help here and from the counselors at the center when you are struggling - you will succeed! Drink plenty of water, it makes a huge difference.

Glad I'm not the only "organized" person. I should correct myself... not only do I have my food sheets in sheet protectors, but everything else too! I even have tabs to split things up.

I created line chart in my excel workbook to show my decline in weight and I add little tickers on it to show when I signed each board. I haven't done the possibility thing but will have to add that :D I'm really not a computer geek, but when you sit in front of one everyday and have some "free time".. what else are you supposed to do!? :comp:

Definitely start taking pictures! Every time I sign the board, I'm going to have them take a picture of me. I've taken ones of myself, at home, which no one will ever see (if you know what I mean) :o I do have one that I may post on here - it's of my college graduation ring - it wouldn't go past my knuckle when I first started and now, I can get it on! Still a little snug but amazing that my fingers are losing weight too!
