Judy Again, different centers, but ours says mahi is an accepted fish. Congrats on starting stabilization!!:D

Rocki You are shrinking! :carrot:

I made the best lunch yesterday - orange roughy with pineapple salsa. The recipe called for mahi mahi, but that isn't on the "accepted fish list". DH loved it and there was enough that I have a leftover lunch for tomorrow.

I love chai too! Try picking up some decaf chai tea bags & add your splenda & sugar-free vanilla creamer to the tea. (There was some chai creamer for awhile, but I don't think they make it now & I don't think it was sugar-free either.) I tried the whey protein powder in my chai tea once, but it didn't dissolve quite as well as I'd have liked.
I ate mahi mahi all along, that and tilapia - they never said a thing about either at my center. Another of those little differences, I guess.

buffalo meat

I have a question about buffalo. can we have that 3 times a week like beef or is it interchangeable with turkey/chicken? It is actually so low in fat, I figured we could eat it anytime!

SchoonCR: Thanks for the supplement info. Must be something about you men on this forum, as Donuts always had great supplement advice, too. I just found out yesterday that if you take a fat/carb blocker, you are supposed to skip your flax for that meal. I had a wedding last weekend and 3 night events with meals this week for work, so the advice was too late for all of them. I did skip the flax for the event last night, though.

Congrats on the week's 4 lb. loss. I've got my fingers crossed you sign that 40 lb board before your trip. You asked about changing your goal weight. I dropped mine by 5 lbs mid-way through my MRC journey. When I first set it up, I was afraid I couldn't get to 130, so wussed out and put it at 135 (which I hit yesterday). I know I can drop another 5 lbs.

Your welcome for the info, and thank you for your thoughts!

With respect to the fat/carb blocker and the flax = We should be taking the fat/carb blocker before an off plan meal, take our normal pills with/before the meal minus the flax, and then take those flax after (30-60 minutes) after the meal.

We want the fat blocker to trap the bad fat we are consuming/the extra fat.

If we take the flax with/before the meal, we will be wasting the fat blocker on the good flax fat.

One other thing I learned, for everyone taking COQ10 = COQ10 is fat soluble, and needs to be taken with a good fat. SO, if you forgot to/or don't have any flax, SAVE your CoQ10. They really need to be taken at the same time.

I think we all like huge bras and small panties, don't we? :D

Sorry, had to be said, just couldn't live with myself otherwise.

That being inappropriately said, CONGRATS ROCK!

You can have buffalo as often as you like, since it is a GROUP 3 protein.

We must think alike, because I just asked/researched this question last week.

MY question was why can I eat 90/10 buffalo (10% fat) every day of week, but can only have ground sirloin (which is usually 90/10), or even the extra lean ground beef (available at most stores, some as low as 96/4) only 2 times a week?

ANSWER - Its not as much about the fat, AS LONG as it is less than 10%, it is about the level/density of the PROTEIN. Sirloin/beef scallops/shrimp have a very dense protein make-up = can take up to 72hours to fully digest. Buffalo = has a less dense protein, and can be digested, like the other GROUP 1 proteins, in 36-48 hours.

Now, what I don't know, is does that have a big effect on fat loss, or more of an effect on slowing down our digestive system, and causing us to APPEAR heavier on the scale, but only due to denser undigested foods. That is what I want to know.

Thanks for the info. I had wondered about the shrimp also. I guess we just have to get into a different way of thinking than other diets, huh?

Good luck on your 40 pound board! I hope to sign the 10 pounder by Friday. Yours makes mine look quite piddly!

Just checking in to say hi. I've been reading all week but been kind of quiet. Took my dd to New Orleans last weekend for her 21st bd. I haven't had the courage to get on the scales since then. I have been back on track all week though and can see I've taken off at least most of what I gained.

I still have a couple more days before the end of August--trying to figure out if I want to suck it up & go back & resign. I am going to be out of town & on the road nearly the entire month of Sept. I wonder if I could tell them that I didn't want to start until I get back?

I really want to resign just for the sake of going thru stabilization & maintenance properly this time around.

Give them a call & ask - I'd bet they'll let you wait until you get back from traveling. I have to say, I'm really glad I went ahead & re-signed. Wasn't planning on doing the maintenance year as well, but now I'm glad I did that too. I need that additional accountability.

Gma to 4 I asked my center about mahi mahi, and they said that it is "legal" and is a group 3 protein along with chicken or buffalo. And you should also know that if you buy your mahi mahi at Sam's, it comes from Ecuador, not China. ;)

So was the maintenance year an additional fee besides the $99 re-enroll? Also, what supplements did they require you to buy?

Not sure I will be able to check in anymore before my early morning flight, so I wish you all luck in the NSV's and the scale WI's this week. I'll be tooling through the mountains and trying my best to eat healthy on the road.

Hello Everyone... I am sitting here in Monroe, Wa next to "Shine On," She is my beautiful niece and I am so very proud of her. I have been a member of MRC for about a month and have lost 10 pounds, however, have NOT been sticking to the program much as I just couldn't seem to get going. However, since my niece is here to give me a quick kick in my get a long, I am more inspired... she even took a pic of me.. UGLY..... lol... I am doing the program over the phone out of the Oregon office as we don't have a center in Washington. I am having a real hard time with the phone in thing, and will be looking to you all for more support.

I'm so glad you posted a picture! You have Shine On's beautiful smile!

I'm doing the phone in thing, too. I actually like it better than when I lived in the same town with MRC because I like the freedom of not having to go in twice a week. I just try to make sure that I check in regularly, stay on top of my food diary, get my groceries each week, and check in here! Stick with us, girl! And way to go on those 10 lbs!
