I am allll over the MCR 6:cheer: In fact it's what I take with the multi vitamin and Flax! When my BIL swore by it...(being a man and all)...that's what I decided to start with...thinking I'd have to add more herbs as time went on. (Okay...so it's only been a month)...we'll see how all goes now with my new "gimp" status!:)...but, I'm thinking it's the big fat burner at this point!

Ooops...meant to welcome back all the "returnees"...and "newbees"...so fun to have your excellent input! Happy losing!:)

Happy Friday everyone! Just a quick check-in before heading off to school. I'm pretty excited because I weighed in at 179.6 this morning. I updated my ticker to 180, using the the principle of rounding and all (and assuming my scale is only so accurate), but I can see the goal weight light at the end of the tunnel. Somehow I'm thinking that it might be adjusted the next time I step on the Tanita because it seems like I still have more than 10 lbs to lose. Maybe 15? I dunno. I have a big challenge this evening--my sister's birthday party. Thankfully, she's serving cheap pizza, so hopefully I will be able to resist that temptation. It has been soooo long since I've had pizza!

Lots of great NSVs and good losses this week. Thanks for the inspiration! Gma to 4--I loved your story about the woman who asked about your health. You are so funny!

I just wanted to share my WI results from yesterday...after 1 week I am down 6.3 lbs!! I know it is mostly water weight, but hey it is less than I was this time last week!

I usually add the mixed berry or wildberry HNS and a dash of cherry or strawberry extract. I haven't tried this yet, but I have a friend who likes to add coconut extract to it for a change in flavor.

Hey Everyone! I'm back. Slower this time (lol) due to the back surgery, but I'm walking and started back to work 1/2 days for this week and next week, and then I'll go back full time. Doing Physical Therapy twice a week, so that is good. Have eaten HORRIBLY since all of this happened. Scared to even get on the scale, but I will tell you, I DO NOT feel as good as I did when I was doing MRC. I know my body's been through a lot lately, but I feel extra sluggish from all the junk I've put in there. I'm heading back to the center on Weds.- that is when they come to town and I'm looking forward to getting back on the right path. Glad ya'll are still here!! Looking foward to "talking" to ya'll again!!!

Good to see you back and glad that your surgery went well. Take care of yourself!

I was under the impression everyone signed up for 17 weeks, and if you had more weight to lose, you had to resign. However, I have read people signing on for 24 weeks as well.

I just pulled out my initial contract to look and it was for 24 weeks. I resigned for another 17 at the end of June when the first one ran out --it runs until the end of October. I was talking about a time line w/ the counselor when I went to WI last week. My MRC does stabilization on 3rd Monday of every month, so I won't start my stabilization until November 17th unless I wanted to do it earlier (I believe you can start it when you are 6lbs from goal). At this point, I think I will stick with the green menu as long as I can and plan on the November stabilization.
We're going on vacation towards the end of September and while I plan to make smart choices, it will be impossible to stay totally OP so I will probably need that extra time! ;)

How many do u take 2 or 4?

I don't take them anymore but I took 2. They helped. The other thing that helped was 1 cup of caffeineted (sp) coffee. Cleaned it all out.

Newbies: Welcome to all of you. I feel like I've been on this forum forever (since March), but it has really been a life (and diet!) saver. This program does work and the people on this board are a great support system. :high:

Rocki: You look super :flame: and must have had a great time for your birthday. My DH and I visited NY last year in June and walked for miles and miles. Hopefully, that will counteract any off plan eating.

SchoonCR: Your suggestion for the inappropriate comments made me laugh. I had someone (an RN) come up to me at a community event and ask me if I'd been sick or was I intentionally trying to lose weight. I kinda pulled her aside, dropped my voice and said, "Didn't you hear?" Then got the look of death from my DH, so I told her about MRC. Dang! I could almost see the headline in our local paper the next day, Foundation President Seriously Ill, if I would have been allowed to continue. :joker:

I love all the NSVs. Keep 'em coming!

Had my final pre-stabilization WI and measure on Tuesday. Was only down .5 lb. but had lost more inches, for a total of 50. (I'm only 62 inches tall!!!) I'm still 2 lbs short of the 40 lb board, but know I will hit it eventually. My stabilization class is this Saturday...however, I'm staying on the green menu until after Labor Day as I've got a ton of meetings and events to attend this week and next. I don't dare give up that bit of controlled security with all the temptations. :burger: :chockiss: :corn: :stir: :mcd: :hungry:

I too was a binge eater. Have had trouble the last couple of weeks. And something finally clicked. If you follow the plan it works!

Hi everyone. This board is such a great source of info and inspiration. I love seeing how successful others have been on this diet.

I've been doing preconditioning for 2 weeks now, and go to my first food instruction class tomorrow morning. Just wondering if you guys can tell me what to expect, or if you have any pointers for the class.

I've seen a lot on this board about start up specials for HNS and supplements. Will they offer me those tomorrow? How hard is the first menu (I'm on a 17 week plan)? I'm not too worried about breakfast or lunch, but at dinner I have to be able to feed 2 kids (2 and 6) and a husband. I'd prefer not to fix them something too different from what I'm eating.

I'm excited, but also a little worried, about starting on the actual diet.

It is doable with kids. Sometimes I do have to make something different for me. But at your kids ages if you can get them eating right now you will set them up for better eating all there life.

That's an interesting question. I have a lot of weight to lose and the choices at my center were 17 weeks and 24 weeks. Their price for 17 weeks was $298 and 24 weeks $398. They told me that you can do additional weeks for 10 weeks for $99 and 17 weeks for $129.

I will need to do 34 weeks for this plan so I can do it in either 17/17 for $429 or 24/10 for $497. I did the 17/17 because I will save about $70. They were really pushing me to do the 24 originally though.

Hi All,

Just checking in. I have been bouncing 1/2 pound up and down since the 26th of last month. Can you say frustrating? I'm on metaquick again to see what will happen this time and I put the exercise down for one week to see if that may help. I'm gonna weigh in tomorrow, weather permitting (though it's not looking good because of the storm). Wish me luck.

I added a profile pic at my current weight of 155. I don't know how to do the before thing. That is so sad! Anyway. I need to really catch up and see how everyone is doing. Wishing you much weight loss success.

Jennifer

Thanks WorkingARMom!! I got the cookbook at today's meeting and when I sat down to make a grocery list picked things for me out of the cookbook that I can make that are similar to things I already make for the family.

I'm just sensitive to the kids (mostly my 6 year old) realizing that I'm eating differently or an "on a diet". I've read lots about the impact that parents dieting can have on kids (body image and things) and I don't want to plant those seeds.

My kids are great eaters, and we do a pretty good job of serving relatively healthy meals at home. They both eat lots of fruits and veggies. My husband and I have been very conscientious about making sure we offer the kids healthy choices and that they learn early about eating right. Too bad I haven't been able to practice what I preach! :) Mostly I have trouble with portion sizes and snacking and stress eating.

On a bright note - I was down 2.5 at WI today - and that's with a 3 day business trip (where I was not following preconditioning meals).

exsquisit 08-22-2008 02:32 PM

Rocki!!!!!! You are so beautiful!

SchoonCR 08-22-2008 02:40 PM

Hi all. Glad to see lots of good news today so far on losing this week! I was down 2.5 lbs today, 4 lbs for the week, so I got to sign the 35lb board! Was happy with that.

Not sure it is even possible, but would be nice to sign that 40lb board before I leave for vacation next Thursday. I have a greed problem apparently. :)

PS. Changed my goal weight from 225 to 230, which is what is on my contract at MRC. I THOUGHT I had said 225, but guess I was wrong. The government slide scale showed at my height I should weight 188 - 198, or some crap like that. Crazy #'s for someone with my frame and build. Before I even got on the TANITA scale, she asked me what my goal weight was, so I just picked what I was 4 years ago, when I thought I was in good shape. NOW, my question --> Will MRC let you adjust your goal weight, if you still have time left on your plan? My plan runs til Nov. 3rd, and depending on my BF% (bmi doesn't work well for me, he he), might want to aim for 225.

twins8831 08-22-2008 02:46 PM

hi regarding cooking for your children and husband, its been pretty easy for me with 2 2 yrs children, they love chicken any way you cook it and they looooove fish believe it or not, but my kids won't eat frozen vetables, they love can vetables but i guess it thats all i have to worry about then i guess we are ok they will even eat the low cal bread. i do make sure that they eats lots of fruit though, my husband prety much eats what i do tooo. everynow and then he will make them something normal like spaghett.

Jennifer you look great! I guess I missed where you made the 40lb board. Congrats. I had been stumbing for about a month but I think I am back on track now.

No greed problem. We all want quick results. You can change your goal at any time as long as you have weeks left and it is in a healthy bf% for you.

Congrats on the loss. And you are right about the perceptions of kids. My kids are boys so I am not too worried about them getting bad perceptions.

momofboys 08-22-2008 06:02 PM

Happy Friday everyone! Congrats on all the losses! You guys are doing great! I'm finally starting to feel good again...been totally OP for 3 days, my scale at home says I'm losing again too. I'm only able to WI once a week now that I'm working again....so we'll see what next Wednesday says. :) I had a nice little NSV this afternoon that I wanted to share..... I had to run by my insurance agent's office on the way home from work to drop off a payment - I almost never do this, the last time was early May i think - anyway as I drop it off and am turning to leave my agent (who had been on the phone) pulls it away from his face to ask me "Are you still losing weight? You look great!" I broke into the biggest, silliest grin and just floated to my car. It's one thing to have my family tell me they notice my weight loss, but to have my insurance agent tell me - wow! :)
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend - be strong! :)
