True, but it's one of those things that in a pinch, I'd rather have an extra one than make a much worse car snack choice! Like the M&M peanuts that are our usual car snacks! And truthfully, a lot of times I'd only eat half a packet of the crispies at a time to stretch those two packets out.
Went to WI today and stayed the same. However I did leave enlightened. Just as Meemo and SchoonCR said, the weight training is definitely stalling my weight loss. We went back in my file from when I started back with the 45 min weight classes and that's exactly when the plateauing began.
But on a brighter and slightly amazing note. I have dropped another 10 inches in a little over 2 weeks. That's since I started the weights again. They did tell me that I should cut the weights altogether if I want to see the pounds go down. And they said reduce the cardio to only twice a week for 45 mins a time. My b/f has gone down in 2 weeks from 27 to 26 and my fat percentage went from 39 to 38. That is in 2 weeks! Makes me wanna keep doing the weights and not worry about the pounds right now since the numbers are looking much better. What would you all do?
theycallmemom I find adding extracts to the creamy puddings helps A LOT. Like Meemo, I add extra vanilla or sometimes peach or cherry. And do try leaving them in the fridge for several hours to get really chilled. I add cherry or coconut extact to the chocolate pudding sometimes as well just for variety.

I would stick with the weights! That's a no-brainer. Your ultimate goal really isn't what you weigh, but rather how healthy you are and how you feel about yourself. The weights are tightening up your muscles, giving your body definition, boosting your resting metabolic rate and making you healthier overall. Also, building muscle mass will probably change your predicted goal weight on the Tanita, so you might already be ready to stabilize. Perhaps most importantly, though, is that the added lean muscle is going to make it easier for you to keep the bad weight off for the long haul. Keep going, girl! You are doing great!

I would absolutely stick with the weights - you're doing this to get smaller & healthier, right? That arbitrary number on the scale means a lot less when you're doing weight training, as your stats show. Great job!
This is one of the downfalls of MRC - it's easy to start to focus too much on the scale & lose sight of the overall goal - getting smaller & healthier. And as some of you know, it's of my pet peeves with most of the counselors - THEY focus too much on the scale, discouraging some of us from exercising as much as we'd like.

I agree. One of the review questions that they (at least my center does) ask at the monthly full tanita/meaurement day is "Do you think you deserve to be thin?" I always respond with "I think I deserve to be healthy."
When I came back from vacation 3 weeks ago, I had gained 2 lbs. I lost that + 1.5 more in a week. Then I had a bad weekend and gained 3 lbs. Lost that + .5 more. So I have had 2 really good losing weeks. Imagine what it could have been without the gain in the middle. So I am down 32.5 lbs total. And I have lost 44.5 inches. But then my BIL sent pictures from the vacation and I hated almost all of them. I looked so fat in the pictures. I feel like I look good when I look in the mirror. But I look awful in pictures. Now I feel fat again. I did clean out my closet over the weekend. And I have only a few pairs of pants that fit. So far so good staying OP this weekend. I went walking last night. I am going to try and walk some everynight. Even though it is blazing hot. Sorry I just needed to vent a little.
Sometimes we are our own worst critics. I'm sure if you showed those pictures to someone else they would tell you how great you look! Congrats on losing 32.5 lbs, that's great!!!!
Just a quick update on my friend who is also on the program. I mentioned earlier in the week that her contract had run out and she was being pressured into signing up again for 17 weeks even though she has only a couple of pounds to go before stabilization.
She met with the center manager today who was great with her. They are going to let her continue without signing up again until the stabilization class in 2 weeks. She is very happy with the outcome as she has really been working so hard to stay OP and has lost 64 lbs! I'm glad for her that it was all resolved because I really want her to have the maintenance.
Oh good, I'm glad to hear they worked it out with her. I would have lost faith in MRC if they didn't!

Exsquisit: Wow! Your inches lost are really impressive. With only 6 lbs to go to your goal weight, I'll chime in with everyone else on staying with the exercising. I'm guessing you are feeling great and have a lot more energy, plus you are building muscle. You are really rockin'. Way to go!
and congrats to all us loosers for making it one more week!
I tried my first creamy tonight and I must say I was not impressed. It was the vanilla and I guess I expected it to be more pudding like, my center told me to mix it with warmish water so it disolves, and well, I didnt even finish it. This morning my daughter had a chocolate one and she said it was pretty good.
Question if I make something with the tomato soup supplentment is that considered a creamy? It didnt clarify in the recipie book. I made the chilli - it smells like tomato soup!!! Will be my dinner tomorrow so maybe a day in the fridge and the spices will meld. We'll see
On a a sad note, my son who I had said has gone off the deep end stopped by today - I hardley recognized him, like a ghost of his former self. It broke my heart. I cant stand it!!! I just want to ground him and make him be the young man he once was. I honestly dont even want to see him. The young man at my door today was not my son......
I cannot eat the vanilla creamy by itself, I use it to make smoothies. The chocolate and lemon chiffon puddings taste great by themselves. But don't expect them to taste like regular pudding, since there is no dairy in them they lose that certain 'creamy' taste. Try the double chocolate pudding next time. And yeah the tomato supplement is considered a creamy.
DeniseYes!!! I'm so glad they liked it.... Hey, I've been meaning to ask... where in San Diego are you? I was born and raised in Southern California. I grew up mostly in North County.

Callmemom My son lived on the street for two years. It was the most heartbreaking experience of my life. After one of many horrific "dramas" with him, I commented to my dad that I was DONE! His response was, "You do not in any way have to "own" his behavior, respect him for it, or even like him for it, but you DO have to love him and let him know that. It was a huge turning point for me and how I reacted to him, on the seldom times I saw him. As an aside to all this I managed to put on a good 30 lbs...mmmm comfort food, I guess. The miracle here was that he ended up with a baby...which helped him to see the "light"...got himself in rehab...and today, lives with us along with our precious 4 year old healthy grandson! (Not that I would recommend this solution) And...he's putting himself through college and law school! I'm apparently still healing as the tears are pouring down my face. Now, another aside...is that I gained another 30 lb mmmmmmmmm more comfort food, because, of course I had to cook all their favorite foods...and eat them! Wow...sorry for rattling on...I just wanted to share this to show you how food can tend to be our comfort...when actually as you read all these wonderful threads, that friends, and especially our new friends here...and a great diet plan plan can keep you on track! Keep focusing on you!!! You deserve it!

Stick with the weights!
The more muscle mass you have, the more fat you burn standing still (sleeping, sitting etc). Muscle burns fat! Muscle makes your bones stronger and you are all around much healthier.
When I was doing a lot of weight training, I felt really good - walking, running, walking up and down stairs all came so much easier to me, and I had SO much more energy. Exercise also increases your psychological well-being - so yeah, for sure stick with it girl! If the scale doesn't show it, the other numbers will!!!!
Thanks everyone for the great ideas. Denise thanks so much for posting those recipes, I am definetly going to be trying these out very soon. I went to the store to get the ingredients for the salsa and would you believe they were out of cilantro. This is a staple on my grocery list so I will be heading back there in a little bit.
