djay, YOU are a badass!!!

I appreciate your nice compliment.

I am usually in operations. Was C.O.O. of a large company for last 4 years then the Economy happened!

Keep up your great work and we appreciate your support!

Lovediet, Im so thrilled that you made an appointment! Thank you, even if its nothing, which it probably is, you'll feel better for it, Im sure.
Oh my gosh,Choklateise, the amount of money we spent on Crap! It is amazing how much we have saved by me going on the program, (I am actually on Wonderslim, an exact copy of Medifast only slightly less money) The Whole family has benefited from the change too. Way more healthy options for snacks and waaaaaaaaaaaaay more whole foods. Fruits and Veggies galore, that satisfy longer than junk food.
I am so with you Dan-O, (with one teeny difference)... I LOVE Wonderslim!
This stuff HAS changed how I view food, how I eat food, how I fill my tummy, and how I feed my family. I am now aware of my heartburns cause. I am feeling so confident. I love shopping for clothes, (not just shoes or jewlery anymore). Whatever you decide to do Choklateise, we will be here for you, with support. My two cents, this program rocks and rocks hard! It works when everything else has failed! Good luck!
I am so sorry everyone but Im gonna add another thing to my signature, just a warning that my posts are gonna start looking like a trailer court for the retired... lol
Peace out, Missy

Oh my goodness Dan! It is my greatest fear to be job hunting in this economy. It's really getting scary! I keep waiting for the economy to slap my company around. Suprisingly we showed a decent profit in the first quarter so I keep my job for now...I'm working hard to make all the cuts I can to do my part but it is really frightning to wonder what will happen if we dip into the red this quarter...

Good luck in your search! Hope all the weight loss will energize your search!

Missy, Here's a WooHoo for Wonderslim and a Woo Hoo For Medifast!

Woo HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

djay, it is scary, just very grateful to have been able to save so much and be surviving without any income. That is a huge blessing, I can even continue to pay full price for my health insurance. Another GREAT blessing. I think after the election, things will get better. I think it will be years before they are good, but americans have to realize we cannot rely on the government to save us and we have to live within our means. Not being political by the way...... Just an non partisan feeling!

Thank you so much for your support djay!

We can do this! Dan-O

Dan- I know EXACTLY what you mean about job hunting, except my problem is the ol' catch-22 after graduating college: need experience to get the job, but need the job for experience...

I've tried interning, volunteering, and being a gopher, but so far all it has cost me is gas and time, so I am sans-job right now too. I quit my job because the non-profit I was volunteering at offered me a job and then pulled the rug out from under me when corporate said they didn't have the funding .

I am sure I could get another "job," but I've really been looking for a career. I probably will eventually, but for now it has been great to be at home and just work on myself and my health!

Boy, it sure is boring though...

I was naughty today and had some oatmeal (not the mf kind, either,) but it is because I am going to a job interview this afternoon and I need brain power! (wish me luck) other than that I've been a good girl.

Gonna go work out at curves today after... so I dont stress over the verdict ha-ha

Good afternoon everyone. Well, I completed week 1. Yay! That was so easy I am shocked. Any diet I've been on before I suffer every minute, even when I'm eating good healthy foods, I'm hungry and cranky. But this week has been so easy to do. I didn't weight myself this morning. My 1.5 drop yesterday morning is enough to keep me motivated. I realize the scale is my enemy. I won't weight myself for 1-2 weeks (if I can' hold off) because I always come off depressed. Today I'm wearing a pair of pants that always fold down at the bottom cuz my belly fat pushes 'em down. Well, today they are not doing that ... they're staying put and I'm not having to re-adjust them every few minutes. I'm so happy with that. I'm going to start using those kinds of markers more than the scale to gauge how things are going, because they are more reassuring right now.

Gotta go order my 4-week packet. I started with the two week and want to make sure I don't run out of those next week before the shipping for the next arrives. I know I can do this!

choklateice - I just started the diet one week ago. I'm doing the New Lifestyle Diet, which is practically the same as Medifast, just uses whey protein for the shakes (I can't eat soy protein, which is what Medi uses). In any case, I was really worried about the taste and would I be able to choke it down. It hasn't been an issue AT ALL. The shakes taste just fine. It's like having a glass of milk if you don't mind milk. Depending on the time of day, I just drink it or I enjoy it. But I haven't been even slightly grossed out at any point. Now, they're not strawberry margaritas from the local mexican restaurant LOL. But they can't be or we'd be chuggin too many of them down.

lovediet: my hubby's on his own too when it comes to feeding himself. Well, only for the other meals (he works from home). At dinner, I make him the same lean and green that I'm having and just add rice or pasta or whatever else to satisfy him. Hasn't been as hard as I thought to feed us all. Glad the exercise makes you feel a bit better.

missy: congrats on the life insurance. It does feel like a relief to know you have that set up. We got ours a few years ago and I remember the feeling.

TwoBThinAgain: Your dog's really cute. What wonderful work. I have cats, but really want a dog too (when the kids are older). Do you have to have a specific kind/breed of dog to be trained for "therapy dog" or can most dogs do it?

Djay: I LOVE Jillian. I have a set of her workouts and it kicks my butt every time, but she does make you feel so strong emotionally and physically! I'm getting back to my usual routine next week (just doing weights now as I was worried the cardio would be too much this early in the diet). My usual routine involves running for 30 minutes or a workout video (I like TaeBo and Jillian's), then 2x week weight training.

Missy- I agree! Medifast has changed my life! I feel like I float! I feel so good and so light. I get so many compliments that it is getting embarassing! I have also learned that I enjoy eating the small meals throughout the day. I feel so uch better and have much more energy by doing this!

Dan-I am also optamistic about a turn around after the election. That new president honeymoon period is usually a pretty good market booster! I haven't even looked at my retirement accounts. On one hand I am very curious...on the other, I don't want to freak myself out and do something stupid. So I pretend they haven't changed since I looked 6 months ago!

lovediet-Sorry you are having such trouble sticking with the Medifast. Good luck on the interview!

Another totally cool NSV! When I got out of the shower this morning! I was able to wrap a towel around me and walk around the house without anything hanging out! OMG I missed doing that sooo much! Is it any wonder that I love Medifast so much!

itstime- Congratulations on finishing out the first week so strong! And the NSV! I have been known to leave the scale alone for a couple of weeks when it starts stressing me out...and it works! Then You get to see a big drop all at once. It can be very motivating!

Congratulations Its's Time for finishing your first week. YAY!!!!
The way you are fealing is pretty much how I felt after the first week.
I was like "Hmm, OK that wasn't bad at all, maybe I can do this."

So thats why are pants fold over??? Because are belly pushes them over.LOL

My dogs are Bernese Mountain Dogs, they are a large & gentle breed.
Any dog, pure bred or not can go to school to try to become a Therapy Dog.
If they can follow basic obedience commands, dont spook easy & love attention they should be able to pass. We have taken a cat to the nursing home with us in the past, but he was just a guest, Diego the cat didn't go to school.

Back to the MF,,,, Today I have had only shakes,no soup or oatmeal and I do feal a difference. I am a bit head achie. Next meal up is going to be the Beef Stew. Have you had that one? I like it and its a bit more filling than the other soups.

I just saw your avatar picture, what a bunch of cuties.

I can't seem to be able to get a picture up. No matter how small I make it in photoshop, it tells me in too big - though I can SEE in photoshop that it's not because it's only like 12 kb (and says up to 15 is okay). Oh well. I'll try again later or tomorrow.

But I have to say that I found it depressing just to go look for pics. I realize I've been hiding. I have tons of pics of my kids, pics of DH with the kids and only like 8 of me in the past two years ... and half of them I'm using the kids as "shields" to hide my whole body. My little one is only two years old and I've been so ashamed of my body that I haven't taken many pics with him - that makes me sad because someday I'll wish we had more pics of us when he was a baby

Djay: what's NSV? I see you're taking the same approach to your investments as I'm taking to the scale ... don't LOOK!!! LOL

Ok, itstime... Whats your name?
I guess I have this idea that Djay must really go by Djay, but thats probably not her name either.

I know what you mean about the pictures, hiding & using the kids as shields. I think we all know that deal. I've been like that for a long time
& now its time I do something about it & we are. Looking at your ticker you don't have too far to go before you reach your goal, thats a good thing. My son is 16 now & it's time for me to take charge of my life & get myself together, you know what I mean? He is at the point where he wants me to do as little as possible for him & that's a tough spot.
I still watch his every move like a hawk, because you have to, but I have cut the strings somewhat.

Re-sizing pictures is not something I can never figure out.
I have no pictures to try to put up here because last month the hard drive went on our desk top that I had all are pictures from the last few years stored on. Luckily they are stored with Snapfish so I didn't totaly lose them, but I can't upload to places like this from Snapfish.
Oh well, the two little ones in the picture are your boys? Whats their ages?

lovediet: how'd the interview go?
